How about Maedhros for the character bingo?

Not gonna lie, I thought I was going to have way more to say about him, but it just didn't line up with the options XD

The question mark is because he does seem to get a softer treatment than some of his brothers (we all know the ones XD) but he's also done horrible things. That said, his misdeeds are acknowledged enough that there's no need to mark off ignoring crimes or not enough criticism. So... question mark over being too nice!

Maedhros stares at him for a moment, looking deeply conflicted and also incensed about being conflicted. Then he says, in calculating tones, “I’m starting to think this is the kind of thing I should make Fingon talk to you about, actually.” Annatar stares at him, betrayed. “You wouldn’t.” “Come on, Annatar,” Maedhros says. “You know me better than that. I absolutely would.”

Silvergifting Week will happen on August 5-11, 2024.

For the third time, Silvergifting week will happen on Tumblr, celebrating the relationship between Celebrimbor and Mairon | Sauron | Annatar. The purpose of this event is to encourage people to create works focused on this pairing (either romantic or queer-platonic). Goblin Invites

Hi! I don't know how many people know about goblin/goblinband (updates on @goblin-social), but it's basically @jv's personal project creating a fediverse lifeboat for tumblr. It has a very similar atmosphere to tumblr (even has a similar shade of default blue on the dash!) and tagging system (the main difference is that you can use commas in the tags). There's custom blog theme options, navigation bar customization, and a ton of other stuff. You can also follow/reblog people on tumblr through rss feeds, so you can still keep up to date on your mutuals!

Currently, there are like 8 active users and maybe one other artist. If any silm people are interested in joining, just reply/send me a message and I can set you up with an invite!

Tag Games (Last Thought, Throwback Thursday Saturday, Last Sentence)

Going through my notifications and trying to catch up on the tag games - thanks everyone!

@sallysavestheday tagged me for to share the latest idea I've been mulling over. I haven't really been mulling over any new writing ideas recently, but since I finally finished this art of Maglor and Maedhros with the twins, I have been going through my overly long list of art ideas and WIPs, trying to figure out which ones I want to draw this year (and how many of them I actually have time to work on, realistically). Some of the contenders include Mahtan and Feanor in the forge, a happy, joyful Fingon portrait and Finarfin (with Finrod probably) because he's the only son of Finwe I haven't drawn yet. A couple of ideas involving the 3 Cs also made the cut, and I want to do some Russingon and Daemags. We'll see how many of these I'll actually end up doing :P

Hey Cyclops! by bowl_of_borshch Finarfin is many things. Right now, Finarfin is a general, and his troops are starting to starve - and Beleriand is harsh and unforgiving. So when he gets a chance to replenish his supplies, he takes it - even though his mind screams at the recklessness of his decision.

A Terrible Choice by jpenn93 The leaders of the War of Wrath are in for a surprise when three young ones walk into the Command Tent. None more so than Finarfin.

And a terrible choice is presented...Finarfin tries to hold his tongue and is only successful due to long, long years of practicing impassivity.

WIP Sunday!

Thanks for the tag @jaz-the-bard! I know you tagged my main, but since it'll be a Tolkien WIP I decided to put it on the Tolkine blog.

Since I update my writing so rarely, I'll give ye snippets of two WIPs! (to prove they exist 😅)

1)

She shifted position slightly and a glint of light drew Aulë's attention to something in her hand.  “Oh, it’s just some peaches that a nice young Vanya gave me. You know them and their offerings.”   She held up the jar for him to see. It was packed full of peaches, peeled and halved, preserved with something syrupy. They looked delicious. Pity he was going to have to dump them the first chance he got.   “A jar! Perfect! I shall hold on to that for you while we go have a look at what marvels everyone is creating!”  Without waiting for an answer Aulë took the jar in one hand and with the other ushered his very confused wife down the corridor towards the main forge. Whether or not he would be able to successfully scoop the escaped dark lord back into a jar without Yavanna seeing was a worry he was leaving for when the time came to it. For now he was busy trying to convince her that, according to the incarnates, powerwalking is much better for your health than strolling. No really. Many of them swear by it. 

2)

To Olórin’s right, at the feet of Lady Nienna, sat Maeglin. He had only been convinced to leave the lady’s halls by the promise that the council would be held at night so that he could more easily move in secret. Not that there was much of a difference between night and day these days. He sat straight and proud, head unbowed, but Olórin could see how tightly his fists were balled in his lap, how tensely his jaw was set. It occurred to Olórin that this would probably be the first time that Maeglin would have been in the presence of so many people in thousands of years. All things considered, he appeared to be handling it quite well.
