Behold the black and rufous elephant shrew (Rhynchocyon petersi)! Despite its diminutive size, this critter is more closely related to elephants than it is to shrews. It’s also distantly related to manatees, dugongs, and hyraxes. It uses its long snout to scoop up worms, ants, termites, roots, berries, and shoots to eat. To move around its territory, this fast-moving mammal creates networks of foraging trails, which also serve as escape routes from predators.

This is just SO cool and so cute!!! Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a wildlife & conservation organization, is celebrating their first "great-grand-baby" elephant! One of their many programs is raising orphan wildlife, primarily elephants. Their program has been going for over 5 decades! They discovered the right formula to sustain milk-dependent baby elephants, and I believe rhinos as well.

This year they've reached 52 calves born to ex-orphans in the wild, which is absolutely amazing. But now they have their first one born to one of THOSE calves, making ex-orphan Yatta a grandmother!

Alectophant is my exhaustively researched and very serious theory that Alecto's problem with the body John made is not that it's a blonde barbie body, nor simply that it's a physical or human body at all, but:

her ideal body is an elephant.

Problems Nona has with human form:

hands are dumb

two is a dumb number of feet

(her only specifics about the body John made) nose too short, ears too brief

Features of an elephant:

zero hands (who needs them!)

four feet (a useful number!)

enormous (and practical!) ears

a VERY long nose that's way more useful than stupid hands

And, finally:

Nona looked down at the animal she had drawn, and thought perhaps she understood. She said, “No, I made it up. It does work, I promise. See these things? They’re its ears,” she said, in much the same tones as she would have explained to Kevin. “This thing is its nose, and you can’t see it because I didn’t draw it, but the mouth is under here. When first it was born it used to live in a river, but then it got cold so it had to get large. I know the legs can’t rotate, but you don’t think that’s stupid, do you?” She looked up at Camilla and the Angel, then said, “Am I in trouble?”

Mario being okay with Bowser dating his bro, but still being an absolute menace as a payback for all the stuff he put them through.

And the Flower Kingdom in SMB Wonder ? Ooooh, Mario is going to have a field day with it. Once he gets Prince Florian's approval (who thinks Bowser rightfully deserves some comeuppance), he "kidnaps" Luigi there and Bowser gets hit with the other end of the Wonder Effect whacky stick. Full musical madness.

And instead of taking over a castle, Mario uses both elephant power up and the Wonder Flowers to turn into This :

(Yes it's a real thing btw, look up the Grand Elephant of the Machines de l'Île in Nantes).

Giant elephant castle Mario wanders the Flower Kingdom carrying his friends and spreading fun wherever he goes, a bit like a circus, while Bowser has to chase after him.

And of course, each time Bowser gets close to reaching the castle, Mario does this :

Geo is the only one in the group with soft, human eyes.

I can't possibly be imagining it because I could've sworn in Smash 4 that Geo's eyes were visible during Mega Man's Final Smash, but are now obscured in Ultimate (See Below). For one, it does make him look super cool that way, but I wonder if it's also following another reason.

Meet Gomphotherium productum, or the “club beast!” This early relative of elephants lived in what is now Texas about 10 million years ago. Like others in this tall, short-necked group of mammals, it probably used its tusks to scoop up food. Over time, most members of the elephant family became larger, and the number and shape of their tusks varied. Gomphotherium had interlocking upper and lower tusks, but many later elephants had only upper ones. Guyssssss I keep thinking about Yuuji's domain (anime only friendly post)

Mainly when he was chasing Mahito down at the end, and the scene kept changing to snowy, with rabbits, and when he stepped on one, I THINK I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS HEAR ME OUT PLS

Mahito sees souls, and they're relevant to an individual's innate domain, yeah?

I think that Mahito can see Yuuji's domain even before he's able to be aware of it himself.

Yuuji's the anti-sukuna, Gege said that Yuuji would be a firefighter if he weren't a sorcerer (and had no comments on anyone else's alternate career path).

Also when Gojo told Yuuji to "stay frosty" during the movie training. And the way that Gojo wouldn't tell Yuuji if he had any cursed techniques, because Sukuna would have taken advantage of them.

Also the rabbit?? Like from Megumi's rabbit escape shikigami. Mahito was trying to escape and failing. Alsooooo I think Yuuji's domain might not have a barrier, because of sukuna's muscle memory maybe. Idk.

But this fits the theory I keep seeing of Yuuji's domain being like a freezer, though I said it would be more like water bc Uraume already has ice. And bc Megumi's max elephant is colored like Yuuji, and it's like. They match w that and the rabbits

Anyway it looks like Yuuji's domain is snow, bc that's what Mahito saw and bc it makes sense, he got the cold and the water but not ice. Idk if I would die on this hill but it feels solid enough.

And maybe he can even do something cryogenic you know?? I've been thinking that sukuna's main stuff is slicing and burning

Yuuji would have the cold, but what else? Something healing, right? Putting things back together?
