The way you draw sans is literally perfect i can't fathom it. Please make a mini tutorial on how you draw him [praying begging emojis]

Wow! I’ve never been asked for a tutorial! Okay, I will try my best, even tho I been meaning to redesign how I draw him, I am thankful you like it!!

Here is a tutorial on how to draw sans face in my style.

First I start with the skull, two ellipses, top half must be longer, but not too long, he will end up looking like megamind, nothing wrong with that but we ain’t drawing that blue man today,

Then the eyes, the eyes can be hard, but usually I just make em a little weird square. Important to position them in the upper ellipse

Obviously add the pupil or light bulb or whatever you kids call it these days in your gay fanfics, and fill the black abyss underneath those beautiful eyes.

Nose is just an isosceles, the trick is to position it with the tip at the height of the eyes, not completely in the middle, not too low.

Cheeks at the very end of the erm, cheeks?…with black squares on the side to let him breathe between his welded teeth.

Beautiful smile only a mother could love. (me). Don’t forget to add a bunch of teeth, don’t give him like 3, he looks like a sad unloved child, a lot of teeth makes him look like a sad man, which he is.

I know it’s not a very good tutorial, but erm, totally feel free to draw over it and trace to study, I’m not going to get mad, anything that helps to improve your art and understand how others art work (do ask other artists if you can do it with their art please, don’t get me in trouble).

The body im not gonna show yall how i do it cus I mean… I don’t even know myself, just draw a lot of fat men and there it is. Hope yall liked it!! If you want anything else let me know.

Battle Time

I drew Fai doing cool Oracle stuff and... it actually looks pretty good! I like it!

Further ramblings under the cut.

WELL. OKAY THEN. This turned out FAR better than I expected! The proportions are decent, the hair looks like hair, the legs look like legs rather than pool noodles, the HANDS LOOK LIKE HANDS WHICH SHOCKS ME, even the face isn't too bad! Even the cloth wrinkles look pretty good. And the lighting! Oh, that lighting! Turns out I can just draw some semitransparent blobs, apply a blur filter mask, and the result looks really nice!

Some Gripes and Lessons for Next Time:

I cannot draw a smooth curve to save my life, and the curve tools in Krita are enigmas I have yet to solve. This wasn't an issue with the shield on the right (I just used the ellipse tool), but the left one... well, if you can't tell, I tried to hide my inadequacy with a motion blur filter mask. I might have applied it either way to try to sell the spinny movement (like I did with the raptor, which worked great), but it does very little to fix the curves. Guess I'm just going to have to practice more.

Speaking of the shields, it's a darn shame they're so big, because they cover up a lot of the clothing and lighting work that I'm really proud of:

In fact, I almost like the shieldless version better because of this.

Those hands, though. I'm pretty happy with my ability to cheat and get away with not drawing fingers like the coward I am. Left hand looks great, right hand might need some work.

Although I'm pretty happy with the face and expression thereof, one issue I have is with the eyes. The downside of using Henry Stickmin Eyes (because I'm a coward) is that there's no pupil/iris/white distinction, and the result is that they don't really glow clearly enough here. If you zoom in, you can see how I tried to cheat a little, but it isn't really enough when zoomed out. Too much saturated pink over the face, not enough bright color in the eyes, I think. My options are either "refine my cheating technique" or "give up and study how actual eyes work". Decisions, decisions... Overall though, I'm very proud of this one! It's exciting to see that I'm gradually getting better at this!

Fanart of my own fanfiction (Chimera Teto x Android Miku)

Good news! When I woke up and looked at my art again today, I liked it, so here's the uncolored version! I trust you tumblr people, so here you go! You may view. This technically means I've drawn UTAU Teto (here) and SynthV Teto, but I really want to color this and take my time doing so, so here are the lines before it turns into something else hahaha 😂😂😂 Read More for the stuff I wanted to write last night but was too tired to (also the art time lapse)

I showed like two WIPs of different ideas on Twitter but none of them were this LOL (just goes to show how much I wanna draw and see of these two specifically) but the reason I decided to go with this is 'cuz that fanfic I wrote in like one day really got me excited and it made me really want to draw them as I was imagining more stuff about them. Here I'll talk about what I had in mind

I love chimera Teto, especially her majestic wings, and what I drew here is basically inspired by that! Teto's basically the only "living, sentient" thing around Miku so far (I dunno how to approach adding more creatures just yet), which makes Miku extra interested in her. But basically Miku likes Teto's wings and tail too and is very fascinated by them.

I had an idea where Miku is just holding or playing with Teto's tail out of nowhere and complimenting the heck out of her, and that was condensed into this piece. It was too crowded on Miku's side to have Teto's tail there as well, but the reason Teto's embarrassed (tsundere is nice, aint it xD) is 'cuz Miku is indeed praising the heck out of her. Calling her cute and saying how cool her wings are and whatnot.

The dialogue kinda goes like, "Your wings are so cool! And I really like how expressive your tail is! I wonder what I would do with a tail. It's so cute! Actually, now that I think about it, all of you is really cute!!" (Teto, embarrassed: "Stop talking now.") wwww

Miku does have a kinda tail actually! It's the chain on top of her skirt. As an android, I was thinking it works as sort of a battery plug or USB or something. I can show off more of that later (since it's really small here lol) but she can use it to receive electricity and recharge herself, I guess~. (Note to self: make it bigger?)

I haven't shown off much of my art style, but most (normal) characters usually don't have pupils. (See: this Teto, who's a living breathing creature.) As a result, I decided to give Miku pupils (kinda robot-like) to make her seem like more of a robot. She also wears the thing (headphones) over her ears, of course, which I can also use to make her seem more robot-like. There's no green flashing of code in her eyes right now but I might draw that sometime too, after my loads of other ideas...

Teto's wings aren't fragile. They're probably firm, hard, and could even be scaly/rough (up to my own whims or the reader's own preference). Her letting Miku touch her (wings) is probably a huge display of trust/confidence. Teto's wings are strong enough to carry her far distances and even allow her to fly in bad weather, I think. It's up to Teto herself how much energy/desire she has to do things like that though.

This is mentioned in the fic too, but Teto probably folds her wings a lot so they don't get in the way. She's kinda like a bird. I think her silhouette against the sun or moon, with full wingspan, is probably majestic (I'm imagining the Batman symbol for some reason lol). I know some people color Teto's wings as purple, but I specified black in my fic to match her tail. ^^

In order for her wings to breathe, there are probably holes in the back of her outfit to accommodate them, but they're only big enough for the wings (ellipses/ovals probably): she either tears/cuts holes into the shirts she wears for her wings or they already fit her wings so there's no problem. I wonder if Teto made her UTAU outfit herself in this setting. xD (A girl has to pass the time SOMEHOW plus she's probably at least a little bit handy when it comes to clothes and stuff (survival).)

If, while I'm coloring, I need to make adjustments to the seating and lineart and all that, I will, but I figured I'd show off what made me stay up 'til 5 AM last night and then get embarrassed to post 'cuz I thought I wasn't finished yet. I woke up and I liked it, so I'm just gonna put it in this here blog. c:

Analysis of Yuma's Design ②

The design of Yuma's head has several features that are related to "question" or "mystery".

Everyone has probably noticed that his ahoge design is based on a question mark. Also, anyone who has watched him closely has noticed that his pupil design (or perhaps I should say the area around the pupil) resembles a keyhole. Some might argue that it is an abstract shape and perhaps something else, but "key" is a symbol used frequently in RAIN CODE, so I think it is reasonable to interpret it as a keyhole.

The main consideration I want to talk about in this post is that the outline of his eyes is a closed ellipse. My guess is that this is because it is based on the letter Q of the alphabet. There are several characters designed by Rui Komatsuzaki in Danganronpa and RAIN CODE with closed eyelines, such as Gundham, Kazuichi, Gonta, Ryoma, K1-B0, Aphex, Zilch, Desuhiko, and Vivia. While there are exceptions like Ryoma, most of them have sharp or semicircular eyes. Characters like Yuma with rounded eyes and closed eyelines are rare, so I think there is an intention behind it. He has a single long eyelash at the corner of his eye, which to me looks like a diagonal line coming out of the circle of the letter Q in the alphabet.

Yuma's eye line is not a simple single line, but rather a line that branches out a bit, so this analysis may be a bit of a stretch. I just think it could mean something, and I think it's one of Yuma's most distinctive parts, so I personally always want to draw him with his eyeliner closed when I draw him. Please don't get me wrong, this is just my preference! I have no intention of criticizing any fanart that doesn't. In fact, in the art for the Danganronpa and RAIN CODE Collaboration Cafe, Yuma's eyeline is broken at the inner corner of his eyes. If Tookyo Games supervises this art properly, it may not be so important whether Yuma's eyeline is closed or broken.

I saw the aro week post you reblogged yesterday, it's a good message, I think.

I'm unclear about something, though. If it's okay to ask/not too personal, what do you mean when you say you 'thought' you had crushes, but didn't actually? It's usually the other way around, for most people! It's a common aro experience, I've heard.

I think I've talked about this before, but I don't mind explaining again.

Well, to start, when I was younger, I assumed crushes were things you consciously chose. I would hear about people getting crushes, and thought I had to do that too, so I picked a random boy in my class to be my "crush." Once people found out who my "crush" was, I was like "ah darn they found out" and stopped making him my "crush."

I ... don't remember at what point I realized people didn't consciously choose people to have crushes on.

And then like, MUCH later when I was in highschool, I decided to ask one of my guy-friends on a date, and I was very nervous about the whole thing. He turned me down, which I was just like "oh okay" about, but then a few years later, he asked me on a date. I remember feeling some emotion I couldn't describe at the time. I DID draw it, though:

I remember shaking and finding it hard to speak, and my heart was hammering in my chest. I didn't know what I was experiencing, but I thought "this must be romantic love--I've never experienced that before, but my friend asked me out on a date and I said yes, so that's what it MUST be, right? I think..."

Well, we went on our date and proceeded to have one other date after that. I had a good time, but the strange feeling from before wasn't there--I just felt like I was having a good time hanging out with my friend. Sometime after the second date, he called me and said he wanted to just go back to being friends. I agreed, with no hard feelings, and that's what we did.

Looking back, what I thought had been romantic attraction was actually... anxiety. Because I had never dated before, and, deep down, did not want to (though I didn't realize this yet), and society dictates that dating is the first step toward getting married and having kids and so on--also something I very much did not want, but thought I had to do.

I guess that goes a bit beyond crushes, but I hope that answers your question.

Adobe Illustrator learning/practice

I opened Illustrator for the first time in two years to refresh and remind myself how it works and to learn a few new tricks and shortcuts to make things easier and quicker, I did this to give me an extra option for my art as previously I have only been making use of Photoshop, Illustrator has a few more perks than Photoshop such as cleaner images with no pixilation as it is vector art.

To begin with I used the ellipse tool to create simple circle and then created smaller ones to fit inside, getting smaller each time, then I used the gradient tool to change the outline color and then the same with the Fill section of the gradient, next I took a base image of Bart Simpson and used the pen tool to trace it, used the arc tool for certain parts such as the mouth and ear and the smooth tool on the corners to make them smoother and rounder, I also used the ellipse tool again for the eyes and the pupils.

Here is the very beginning steps of making my penguin using Illustrator. We made the body by using the ellipse tool spitting the circle in half and separating them to make the top and bottom of the body. Then we joined them by using a new tool the Join tool(keyboard shortcut command + J) We then adjusted the bottom circle to make the flick of the tail we did this by adding two anchor points (+) to the path to be able to manipulate it outwards.

We made the top feather on its head by adding multiple anchor points to the very top right of the circle, we then used closed curves and then readjusting the handles after to create the spiky effect.

Next we used the rectangle box tool to create the general shape and size of the beak. This first screen shot is where I chose to position the beak of my penguin. We learnt how to use the little circles shown in the screen when selected can curve straight edge anchor points to achieve the rounded look, shown in the last screen shot.

We then did the wing, we created a bezier curve, and adjusted it to get shape we wanted using direct select tool on the anchors.

I forgot to get screengrabs of the process of the eye as it was a very new and a bit tricky at first process with lots of new tools. We learnt how to add layers using the little plus in the bottom right corner of the layers panel. The other new tools that we put on display were swatches and the gradient tool. We selected the radial gradient tool and selected from the swatches panels a colour of our choice i really like the blue colour I chose. Once we selected the colour we had to carefully drag it from the swatches into the slider of the gradient tool and adjust it to the gradient we liked. We added a white fill to make the pupil and held option to duplicate to make two.

I found this first use of colouring very fun, and i'm happy with out they turned out.
