The song is so James and Reader coded it's not funny. You two are arguing because James is willingly doing a heist with Frankie, leaving you behind with the worry of him possibly getting arrested. He lashes out, saying things he didn't mean which makes you break down crying.

He hates taking it out on you, why? because you're his girl. The one he was supposed to protect so when he sees you break down like that and knows he's the reason; it breaks his heart.

He would pull you into his arms, his hand rubbing your head as your face is buried into the crook of his neck. "I'm so sorry angel, I never meant to make you cry" He would whisper as he kissed you on the side of the head.

With Aj, it's the same ball game but a bigger problem. This song and the second part Rihanna wrote would be the entire reader and Aj's relationship.
