...im Kampf mit dem Drachen der Prohibition [FDR against the dragon of prohibition]
During the roughly thirteen years of Prohibition, many Americans had forgotten how to mix a decent cocktail; the concoctions they devised during those dry years were often created to mask the taste of bootleg liquor—sales of Coca-Cola steadily increased throughout the 1920s in part because it made ardent spirits such as rum and whisky a bit more palatable.

So a bunch of people said they wanted to see this so um. Here! Have
this super rough Pwish animatic of No Children I sketched in my
notebook and put together in iMovie. It's not perfect and some of the drawings in the beginning are pretty rough but-
Please be nice to me TvT
It's based on my own headcannons and a one-shot fic ab them
having been close in the past that Im not finished with so.
If you'd like to know more ab it or you're confused by some of the
things in this, please ask! I'd love to explain/ramble!
Also don't. Don't worry ab the filler image l used.
Some consider April 7, 1933 to be the real end of Prohibition. (Officially, the 18th Amendment wasn't repealed until December 5 of that year.) President Roosevelt signed the Beer and Wine Revenue Act, which allowed for the sale of beer, on March 22, and it took effect on April 7. In the picture above, a crowd gathers on Broadway to celebrate that act and a beer keg is held aloft toward the bottom right near the subway sign.
Summary: Wei Ying wakes up alone in bed after he sleeps with Lan Zhan for the first time. It goes about as well as you'd expect.
Kay's comments: In which Wei Wuxian is hit with some rejection sensitive dysphoria after he and Lan Wangji spent a night together only for Lan Wangji to disappear in the morning. I'm so weak for this story, because ADHD Wei Wuxian lives rent-free in my head and I wish we had more stories where RSD plays a role, especially considering young Wangxian's misunderstandings. Also featuring good siblings Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng, who look out for Wei Wuxian and take care of him.
Excerpt: Wei Ying sits up, tangled in the sheets, hair in disarray, and blinking at the sunlight. The happy feeling dwindles as he stares at his empty bed and the marks on his wrist from a now-gone Lan headband. Had it been a vivid, drunken hallucination? No. His clothes are still scattered on the floor and his outer robe is still torn at one sleeve. There are empty bottles of Emperor’s Smile on the ground and the low table is turned on its end from where they’d lost their balance…
He stares at the mess and the mess stares back, pushing at his stomach until it sinks so low it carves out a hollow, dragging the warmth from his body until he pulls his knees to his chest in a futile attempt to preserve it. His happiness disappears like smoke, leaving behind a charred, dirty shell.
Lan Zhan promised to be here when Wei Ying woke, said he couldn’t live without him anymore. So why is he not here? He’d expected Lan Zhan would be out of bed but not out of the room. There must be an explanation. Wei Ying had woken up earlier than normal. Perhaps Lan Zhan had gone to the jingshi for clean clothes, or something?
After an hour goes by with Wei Ying staring at the door that never opens, it becomes clear Lan Zhan is not going to return. Betrayal feels secondary, mostly Wei Ying feels confused and sad.
pov wei wuxian, canon divergence, getting together, wei wuxian has adhd, rejection sensitive dysphoria, angst with a happy ending, emtional hurt/comfort, drunk lan wangji, alcohol, friends to lovers, miscommunication, no sunshot campaign, good sibling jiang cheng, good sibling jiang yanli, lan wangji/wei wuxian get a happy ending

Liquor Smuggler Found Asleep in Boat
----
Special to The Star
Ridgeway, Ont., May 26. - J. Seld, 21, Woodlawn Beach, N.Y., was fined $714 or fifteen months in jail on charges of smuggling alcohol and boats and having illegal liquor by Magistrate J. C. Massie here today. He was taken to Welland jail.
Constables Hoath, Ridgeway and Wilkinson, Fort Erie, with Corporal Johnson and Constable Crawford of the R.C.M.P. also of Fort Erie, arrested Seld with a motor launch and dinghy loaded with over 300 gallons of alcohol about four miles west of Point Abino late Friday.
Hoath and Crawford rowed a leaky boat some distance and found Seld asleep on the rum-runner. No resistance was offered.
I like the idea of Prismo, and Scarab being latched onto each other, and rarely letting go when they get more comfortable
But what if when they have space apart like in this case they are in the same room
They are focusing on their own projects, or whatever they are doing and Prismo stops what he is doing randomly to give Scarab some quick affection
Cause I do this. I’ll be somewhat focused on something but I’ll stop for less than a minute to give my cat affection randomly, and poke her
So what if he did this. Like he kinda feels like procrastinating something, but needs to push through. So he gets randomly getting up, and walking to Scarab to like give a little kiss on the forehead, or cheek. Maybe a quick hug, and poke him a little
I just like to poke my cat sometimes. I boop her nose, poke her cheeks, poke her forehead. Earlier I poked her from her back to her head. She doesn’t get mad at me for this btw. She is very calm, loving, and lets me do a lot. I give her lots of pets
I just think it would be funny I guess if Prismo just randomly pokes Scarab a few times for no reason
It’s hard to believe in this day and age that a theoretical physicist could enjoy rock star status, but then Albert Einstein wasn’t your everyday theoretical physicist.
