The title to this meme makes me laugh. I just picture Batman holding a criminal by the lapels, shaking them, screaming it into their faces. "WHAT KIND OF LOVE ARE YOU?!" And the criminal is like "I...I don't know what you want..." and Batman just shakes them more.

Look, it's early and I haven't had any sort of caffeine or breakfast yet. You can't expect me to make sense.

How the webcomic progress is going… God. I’m going to fill this with so much crack because my brain has rotted due to how many times I’ve tried to actually make a webcomic.

Rambling ahead.

I used to look at Manhua because I really wanted to get closer to Chinese media because I grew up distanced from it as a whole and that side of me. But man, those comics and novels are something else.

Young master does this, gets stronger in a video game like leveling system? Gets like a hot wife then fucking kills a villain but oh no there’s a bigger villain and then what?

You might be wondering what this has to do with kiss. Well well well, my child. Who is that, you may be wondering? It’s ace Frehley, of course! But as a goddess of lust because why not?

I need to get all that out somewhere. This comic is going to be a vent of every stupid piece of media I’ve ever consumed while I still try to make it good. I love writing crack and if this is what gets me off my ass, this will do.

I’m already loving the direction of this thing.

Essentially, every stupid thing that happens is somehow going to make sense in the universe while I sit here, sweating behind my computer overthinking and trying to make some sort of structure behind it and make that and this make sense.

Oh I am having an EVENING. I just got back to school, spent the last 2 days amazingly productive and prepping for finals, and an hour ago I tested positive for COVID.

So then I had to email my students over the Learning Management App (which doesn't keep the formatting of the email site) that class is going be asynchronous tomorrow. At the end of the email, I tried to copy and paste my usual signature. I pasted and hit send too quickly for me to realize it did not copy.

au where dream gets stuck in his cat form and death drops him at hob’s place telling hob this is lord morpheus, and he needs someone to take care of him for a few days until he recoveres (regains his powers to be able to shapeshift back to humanoid form)

imagine hob’s surprised pikachu face when at the end of the week the cat turns into his stranger

​who’s brushing cat fur from his coat and doing his damnest to keep looking regal when facing hob who has in the past days seen him: chase after a flashlight, miss the landing when jumping from a window sill onto the couch, spit cat hairball, beg for tuna cans, get spooked by a garbage bag, demand scratches, throw a tantrum when hob wanted to take him to the vet…

it was pointed out to me today that ( for various reasons) this could all been seen as a sequence and I honestly didn’t plan for it to be that way but now I cannot unsee it! The mind works in mysterious ways ( specially with blorbo fanart).

The year is wrapping up and I’m feeling happy to all the progress I’ve made as an artist—so I thought hey let’s put this all together so I have a post to go back to and remind myself of happy tidings 🖤

Do you think Dream ever tells Hob something, or shows Hob something, or even gives him something, and sometimes, for a second, thinks, "Roderick Burgess would be so pissed to see this"

If the immortality wasn't enough to send the bastard into a screaming fit, then it would certainly be bow favored Hob is to a being such as Dream of the Endless, much less fucking Death of the Endless just by being... normal? And cocky about it at the right time and right place and what does he do?

600 years of mundane ambitions, nothing vaguely grabbing at any real power, no study of the occult or even interactions or demands for more

Burgess sacrifice so much time, energy wasted at bargaining with a void until his death, Hob just got everything he wished for by just being lucky enough to end up as two universal forces /joke/

While Burgess rots in hell, Dream of the Endless shows Hob the Dreaming's Library and, yes, Dream revels in how much the old man would have frothed at the mouth to get his stained hands on such books, such knowledge and here was Hob, a peasant now every day professor, who mostly asked for a bit of Dream's time, not even for his benefit, mostly Dream is the one being given wines and teas and whatever foods Hob tries to sway Dream into trying.

Maybe sometimes hell shows Burgess the scenes of Hob tucking Dream of the Endless, a being that survived a century of airless imprisonment like he was the most fragile creature in the world before a movie night

Burgess had to use an entire ritual, a whole cult and countless workers to force the Endless presence, all Hob has to do it smile and shly look away while tugging at an ear to get a visit, a promise, a /deal/

Hob gets to have all the time imaginable and gets to now spend it lovingly close to the most beautiful creature ever conceive while Burgess rots for being the wrong kind of idiot

A scene of Hob being given a dreamstone, something Burgess would have literally killed for, just to let Hob spend even more lucid time in the Dreaming, to protect him from the ever increasing enemies of both the man and the Endless

I think Dream views most of his conflicts like the Trolley Problem. And very rarely, like .1% of the time, it's a matter of the Collective Unconscious on one side and someone else on the other (like Rose during the vortex shenanigans), and that's when he struggles and hesitates and occasionally ends up blowing up the trolley in a fit of choice paralysis because unfortunately he cares so so much.

Now the other 99.9% of the time, it's the Collective Unconscious on one side and Dream on the other, and that's not even a little bit of a problem for Dream, he pulls the leaver on himself without even pausing to consider his options. This is easy. Fuck, he'll see empty tracks on one side and ask "is anyone gonna offer up their own wellbeing as a sacrifice over here?" and then not wait for an answer. He'll just lay face down and tell Matthew to fetch some rope.

And meanwhile Lucienne is grinding her teeth like "Sir. Sir. What if we. Didn't tie you to the tracks. So the trolley. Could pass by without hurting anyone. What if we made that a possibility here. We have the technology."

But Dream is already fully in character as both the cartoon villain tying a maiden to the train tracks and the maiden in question because the trolley has to run over someone, obviously, don't be stupid. Pull the leaver, Matthew.

One the One Hand I think all the designs of Wu, FSM, and Lloyd with non-human features (big chompers, claws, horns, tails, etc) are Extremely cool I love them keep up the good work gang, on the Other I think it's really funny to draw them all as Just Some Guy and then Garmadon is just there, the Least human .

I just think that once Dream wrapped his head around that yes, he is going to court one Hob Gadling, there would be handkissing. First the proper, courteous kind where the mouth does not even touch skin. Then Dream would brush Hob's knuckles, just slightly. After a few months, he'd press his mouth to the point of Hob's pulse. It's when something irrevocably changes between them.

It wouldn't end there, though. Dream would kiss Hob's fingertips, rough with callouses, and marvel at the humanity of him. He would press his mouth to open palms as if returning an act of worship. Would kiss Hob's hands, sometimes deliberately and sometimes unconsciously, in acceptance of all the violence they have wrought, and in gratitude for all the tenderness they bring, for the neverending work they commit themselves to, and the pleasure they bring.

Meanwhile, Hob is just absolutely losing his mind from the first time Dream leaned over his hand and looked up at him from beneath his lashes, lips just shy of meeting skin.

Watching episode 6 again (for science of course), I lingered over the fight scene against Lady Constantine's men.

And I was first disturbed by that little sidelong glance Hob gives Dream before going into battle.

Like I'm checking out my man before I give it my all.

And here comes the best part. Our Hob, in super savior mode, enters the fight and fights like a lion for their lives.

And guess what is Dream doing ? He checks him out and not only does he check him out, but he really seems to enjoy what he sees.

No wonder we get this kind of look after…
