draft 04; dostoevsky, f.
↪︎ fluff, fedya having a soft spot for his lover, reader is sick, gn reader, written with a fem reader in mind tho, references to irl dostoevsky’s life, surprise angst at the end, mentions of death.
↝ summary: when you become ill and are unable to fall asleep, he reads to you. the action feeling both familiar and distant to him.
Tumblr media
You sneeze. Four times, actually.
You getting sick was highly inconvenient for Fyodor, as it prevented you from fulfilling your duties as a member of the Rats in the House of the Dead. He had to disregard plans and work his way around being down not only a member, but also the best assassin in the organization. Not to mention how it not only affected his organization, but also the Decay of Angels.
As annoyed as he was with the whole situation, seeing you in such a miserable state didn't bring him any kind of joy. On the contrary, he felt his heart hurt when he saw your teary eyes and heard your hoarse voice. Not that he would ever let you know that.
He stands up from his office set up and heads to the kitchen to get a glass of water. He can't concentrate, so he decides that he might as well check up on you. That is, of course, because he needs you to get better so you can get back to work immediately, and not because he heard you cough a little too much and a little too hard.
He places the glass on the bedside table. He hears you thank him weakly. "Are you okay?" he asks uninterestedly but scans your face for any kind of discomfort. "Tired..." you sneeze after you answer.
"Then sleep." He hands you a tissue, which you barely muster enough energy to take.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"I don't know."
Fyodor sighs and then leaves the room. Your eyes start tearing up again, this time because you want him to stay with you. The whole image is comical: a killer as cold and ruthless as you, crying miserably because their boyfriend wouldn't spend time with them? Even if someone were to see it with their own eyes, it would be hard to believe.
Fyodor returns to the room with a book in hand. The cover torn and creased from the passage of time. It is Fyodor's favorite. Even if he rarely touched it, you knew he held a great fondness for that book in particular.
He lays down in the bed and looks at you expectantly. While your moves are slow, he waits patiently for you to make yourself comfortable against his chest. He opens the book on the first page.
"On an exceptionally hot evening early in July a young man came out of the garret in which he lodged in S. Place and walked away slowly..."
His soft voice and regular heartbeat lulled you asleep.
Tumblr media
A young dark haired man lies kneeling at the foot of his bed. His head is hung low and his fingers are intertwined. After he finishes his prayer with an "Amen", he gets up and heads for his mother's room.
He enters quietly and finds his father already there, sitting on a chair by his mother's side. Her head turns upon hearing the door opening and a warm yet tired smile makes home on her face.
"Fedyen'ka." Her voice, although strained and tired, sounds happy to see him. "Come here, my angel. Your father and I have something for you."
He is given a book.
On a late night while talking to his mother, he had entrusted her with the knowledge of his passion for literature. Talking about some of the books he had managed to get his hands on, weather by acquaintances of his lending him some, or by the old man in the shoe shop who let him stay a couple of hours after his work ended just so he could read some of the books that he kept in the backroom of his store. That night his mother promised him that for his sixteenth birthday, she would get him a book of his own.
She had never broken a promise, yet there were still two months until his birthday. Fyodor understood at that moment that his mother was probably going to die before that.
A simple "Thank you." is all he could muster.
That night he was unable to sleep. His father went out to tend to some business, so the house would've been completely silent if it weren't for the coughs of his mother.
He gets out of bed, grabbing the book from the wooden dresser next to the door to his room. When he enters his mother's room, the coughing stops.
"Oh, Fedechka, did I wake you up?"
"No, mother." He takes a glass of water from a table nearby and puts it up to her lips. She takes a few sips. "Are you unable to sleep?" She nods.
He leaves the glass back on the table and grabs his book. His mother's gaze follows him as he moves to sit on the chair where her husband usually sat beside her. He opens the book on the first page.
"On an exceptionally hot evening early in July..."
She falls asleep with a smile on her face as she listens to her son's voice.
Two days later, Maria Fedorovna Dostoevsky would pass away.
Tumblr media
Fun fact: i spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to understand which Russian pet names and nicknames are most common, just to end up not using any because in my head they’re already speaking Russian.
If you recognize what he's reading, ur hot. Ahhh I'm so in love with fedya, but i’m not sure if i like how this turned out...

Omegaverse Alpha!Chuuya, Dazai, and Ranpo Headcanons
Tumblr media
⚠️ warnings: 18+ concepts and scenarios, Minors DNI! Omegaverse, GN!reader, mentions of heats and ruts, slick, knots, and sexual/explicit scenarios.
[Fyodor and Nikolai here!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chuuya
ARE U READY TO BE THE WORLD’S MOST SPOILED OMEGA??? :D ‘CAUSE BABY- YOU ARE!!!
Chuuya knows that he can be very absent in your relationship, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. But that doesn’t stop him from always trying to make up for it!!! Unlike OTHER ALPHAS-
Chuuya is honestly probably the best Alpha you can have. He’s very sweet!! He worships you, he’s caring towards your needs, sympathetic to any issues you have, will absolutely spoil the shit out of you, protective in all the right ways, very stable financially — the list goes on and on. However… it is extremely hard to break down his walls and actually GET to the point where you two are in a committed relationship. Between his trust issues and being a literal executive for the MAFIA- he isn’t the type to fall in love very fast or very easily. He wants to be. He romanticizes love to an extreme; but he cannot bring himself to actually relax and let down his walls in order to experience it. Basically, you gotta fight for this boy, but it is oh so worth it.
I know most people probably think you have to manage dancing around his outbursts and anger issues but honestly? Those are for people who Are Not You™️. You do have to talk him down from crushing the Alphas who mention you in the wrong sort of light to death, however.
They end up dead anyway. Yeah you really kinda have to be morally grey to date this man. And that might be a deal breaker for some. While I see a lot of fics talking him out of the dangerous life of the Port Mafia and having him settle down, I really don’t see that as a viable option. One, I firmly believe that Chuuya sees his place in the Port Mafia as one he’s earned, all by himself, without relying on anyone and proving himself worthy. The emotional ties to his job alone make it hard for him to even consider leaving. Two, even with all the danger, Chuuya prides himself on being able to keep you safe despite all of that. You will never be taken. You will never be used. He keeps you close enough so that you are technically protected, but far enough removed that you cannot be a pawn in this sick twisted game that Mori plays. And… it’s kinda stable for him. For you. A generous income that leaves you leaves you flush and living lavishly beyond your wildest dreams. He can’t give that up. So really, you have to be ok when he ends up having to murder a few people for his job. Not that you would know about it first hand. And he’s never malicious. He has his own moral code that will never be broken.
Heats???? Ruts??? This man will shower you in whatever you want during that time. No matter what, he will always be there for you. Uninterrupted personal time with Chuuya. His Omega always comes first. He is such a generous lover too. He’ll knot you as many times as you wish. He’ll make you breakfast in bed and make sure you hydrate. Loves eating you out until you’re begging for his knot, ass up and face down. Give you all his clothes for the nest you make. He’s so in tune with his Omega that his ruts will line up with your heats very early on in the relationship, so you might want to invest in child-prevention or otherwise both you and him will be looking at parenthood. 😳 He wouldn’t mind that. Considering how long it would take for you to get to that point… but he wouldn’t let you know that.
Tumblr media
Dazai
Honestly, I love this man ok? He was my first BSD love and he’ll always have a place in my heart because of that. But my god. He is an absolute horrible Alpha.
Dazai himself is very guarded. He loves to have an air of nonchalance, but that’s all it is. An image. He is a fortress of walls that will never truly come down, unlike Chuuya, who eventually lets you in fully. Considering his past and his experiences, being able to break through a few of those will be a victory. Dazai, on the other hand, needs a partner who is okay with never truly knowing his own desires. A partner who’s ok with always being held at an arm’s length, because Dazai feels like if he loves you too much, something bad will happen.
Not only the emotional distance, but a physical one too. Dazai loves to be touchy, but at home, he also needs time to regenerate his own physical stimulation. It might be strange to some that he seems more affectionate and physical in public, but Dazai wants to trust you. He wants to feel comfortable enough to not always be what he feels like he should be. He might come off as cold or even uncaring, but he just needs time, no matter how much he loves you. And trust me, it will pay off.
And we also have to consider his job. Unlike Chuuya, who’s rather stable in his self-image and work life, Dazai almost is like Ranpo in a sense, where he feels like something bad will happen if he’s not available to ADA at every second of the day. Unlike Ranpo, Dazai cannot shirk these feelings or his duty, even though he basically goes in and does absolutely nothing all day. Mentally, he’s there. Thinking up solutions and plans without speaking a word of it. He needs to be there to get ahead, to minimize casualties, no matter how much Kunikida helps out. There will be many times you spend a heat alone, or Dazai will have to rush out to go to work during one of them.
Buttttt that’s not to say he’s a selfish lover. He is, in fact, a very, very good one. Not only through experience, but in creating a sort of intimacy that makes you feel like he’s all there. Even if he isn’t. Which, again, is sort of shady of him. 🙄 But honestly? His dirty talk is top notch. During the heats that he goes to work, he’ll talk you through the time that he isn’t there. Much to your embarrassment.
Dazai’s favorite thing is to feel you clench around his knot. He loves making you so horny that all you can do is beg him to knot you and scream his name or his title. It’s a moment that he can just forget everything, his past, his current situation, and just be with you. He loves being your Alpha and does wish he could be a better one, but that’s just not him. 100% keeps a pair of your slick stained panties in his pocket. Disgusting man.
His ruts will take a while to line up with yours. It’s a combination of both problems — physical and emotional distance. Feeling like he can even sort of trust you will cure that. He’s super restrained during his ruts though. Even if you’re in a long relationship, the only way you can notice is by his heightened scent, which he loves to blockers to suppress, because he’s stupid like that and feels like it interferes with his investigations (yes and no. it’s not very helpful if someone can smell you a mile away, but it’s also because Dazai likes to keep an air of mystery AND distance between any sort of work and personal life, in his own strange way. Stops taking them if it helps create a connection he can use) and the fact he just randomly wants to knot you at all times of the day. He doesn’t even seem that serious about it though — just like “oh! popped a knot in you! sorry!” and does that 10 more times until you catch on.
“Dazai… are you in rut???” “…yeah.” absolutely ridiculous mind game for no reason other than it’s Dazai.
Seriously, if this man is your Alpha, I’m sorry. He makes you jealous accidentally a lot because he has Omegas fawning over him, that he gives crumbles of attention for validation, but his secretly super possessive and HATES when it happens to you. Seriously. One Alpha hits on you and suddenly you’re covered in hickies and claim marks, rubbed so hard with his scent it almost stinks and you can’t get it out with ANY SORT of laundry detergent.
Tumblr media
Ranpo
again, if this man is your Alpha, I’m sorry. I am actually less sorry than if Dazai is your Alpha but I’m still sorry.
Ranpo is childish. He has absolutely 0 clue on how to be a proper Alpha, despite Fukuzawa trying to teach him, but unlike someone like Kunikida or Sigma, has probably little to no desire to learn. That isn’t entirely true, especially with how earnest Ranpo is to want to learn with you, but honestly, he gives up very quickly.
He can be very selfish with his pleasure, but that’s mostly to your gain, to be honest. At least you have 0 emotional hangups when it comes to Ranpo. 🤷‍♀️ that’s all I can say.
He also has 0 embarrassment. He will fully scent you, partially undressing you to get to what he wants, like a breastfeeding CHILD, in the middle of the office. If you smack him away, he’ll be fully confused. Like “whaaaaat? I’m your Alpha. I’m supposed to do this.” NOT HERE, IDIOT.
Mouths your neck and your scent gland whenever too. Like just leans over in meetings to do so. You, as his Omega, almost have to leash him, your Alpha. It’s a bit of an unusual dynamic, but fits perfectly to Ranpo.
He will end up growing up a bit when he enters a relationship with you; however, that will take a lot of time. Your relationship probably starts off really casually too. Ranpo will most likely just offhandedly ask you on an outing, then he’s considering you his significant other, his omega, without it ever truly being discussed. “It wasn’t obvious? Why would I ask you out if I didn’t want to be with you?” Please teach him how to properly enter a relationship. Or at least discuss with him the standards of dating. Fukuzawa will give you a bonus. Just please.
Now, it’s very widely accepted that Ranpo is autistic/asperger’s syndrome, and I headcanon him as that as well so a little on that from another Aspie!!! Ranpo doesn’t always catch on to what is and isn’t socially acceptable. He has a tendency to sometimes be sexual in times that aren’t always the best, but if you tell him nicely, he’ll understand and back down. Usually with a nod and taking mental notes. You need to be very verbal with this man because he will not catch on in any sort of way. If you want a gift, ask him for it! If you want time alone, ask him. Seriously. You need to tell him or he’ll just keep doing his little routine.
He has stimulation problems. You might need to carry around headphones or some sort of fidget toy because he sometimes gets overwhelmed in public by all the information he’s taking in. He’s used to it, but that doesn’t make it better. If you let him sit on the couch with a weighted blanket and just sit with him in silence on the other side, he will eventually jump your ass after a while and cuddle up under your arm. He will probably not leave your side for the rest of the day, refusing to talk to anyone but you.
His libido is finicky, it jumps between hyper sexuality and almost completely disappearing, even if he wants to pleasure you. His ruts show that. Unlike most Alphas, they aren’t always timely, and show up randomly. It makes it hard for your heats to line up with his ruts. They rarely line up, and sometimes when you’re in heat Ranpo is completely disinterested and would rather be working on a case. Early on, he most likely will ignore you and them, not out of animosity or a lack of care, but just because he’s really not used to being in a relationship. If you give it time and practice, certainly after expressing your need, Ranpo will take care of you through them. Whether it’s eating you out or knotting you properly. He can finger you with one hand while working on his phone or laptop with the other, a skill he didn’t even know he had.
His ruts on the other hand… he’s very needy. You will have to call out of work for a week or two. He wants to be touching you at all times. Don’t expect to leave the bed at all. Actually, just plan on being on his knot the whole time. If you have to get up, even for a drink of water, expect him to be right there behind you, arms clasped around your waist, begging for you to come back to bed. His scent gets so heavy. He just wants to be comfortable and the only way he feels comfortable is with you. You might need additional call out days for how weak your legs will be afterwards.
Ranpo is apologetic though and will bring you painkillers or a heating pad. You probably could talk him into a massage every now and then. He knows how much you give to him, and struggles with sometimes feeling like your relationship is one sided. It is, in a way, but Ranpo gives back tenfold with how absolutely pure his love is for you. He’s loyal and will never entertain any sort of attention from any other Omega. He shares all his snacks and candy with you and tries to show you his love in little ways, like remembering your favorite flavors or something you mentioned you liked.
Ranpo isn’t the best Alpha, but he is a good soul. He tries and though he has his struggles, he really is there for his (and your!) best interests at heart.
Praise him. Praise him during his rut and you will be there for another week. It drives it crazy and ends up lengthening it for an extended amount of time.

BSD Chapter 105.5
"In the Narrow Room - the Later Part"
I love this chapter so much I have no words T_T Dazai is so precious I would trade the world for him!!
Tumblr media
Please note that I typed it out very quickly while being hyped with neither English nor Japanese as my native language, so I might make mistakes here and there. Please forgive me I can't think really straight right now ;v;
SPOILERS AHEAD
Sigma tells Dazai that he cannot believe that Dazai is a normal person because he just single-handedly took down Fyodor, and asks Dazai why he chose him in the beginning instead of all the other usable tools (;v;). Dazai tells him there are 2 reasons, first is Sigma can act as Kunikida's replacement, because it would be very boring if there is no one there to be in awe and admire what Dazai did there. Sigma gets mad at Dazai and assumes that Dazai thinks he is not worthy enough to share the truth. Dazai corrects him saying that is not true, and that Dazai doesn't share anything with him because it's hard for him to understand, especially after he has been used by Tenningosui and others this whole time.
Dazai then decides to share one thing with Sigma and asks him if his ability to switch information works on dead people. Sigma confirms he can, as long as they have not been dead for a very long time. Dazai explains that he wants Sigma to use that ability on Fyodor (who is assumed dead at that point) to read his plan after that and save the ADA at the airport. Sigma is surprised Dazai did everything that he did only to save the ADA, and the words from people who used him in the past starts echoing in his head.
Dazai and Sigma get on an elevator to get to the room where Fyodor is supposed to be drown. While they are waiting, Sigma asks Dazai what is the second reason for Dazai to choose him, to which Dazai nonchalantly answers that if he didnt choose Sigma, Sigma would be silenced by Fyodor or Gogol later. Sigma is shocked, trying to confirm Dazai's intention to save him but Dazai doesn't say no more. Sigma starts to wonder what kind of place is the ADA. He thought Dazai was the same as those guys who used him, but he feels something different now. He thinks about how he wants a home, where he is not used by anyone, and he realizes that, the ADA is not using Dazai, and Dazai is not using the ADA either.
Dazai notices something is strange because the elevator is taking too long. Suddenly the evelator stop and they hear the voice of the time freezing skill user on the radio, begging for her life. Fyodor is seen alive with Chuuya, shooting her dead. Fyodor then tells Dazai over the radio that he is surprised, not by the flooding, but by the fact that Dazai and his 7-year partner's bond was so shallow that Dazai think Chuuya's ability cannot deal with that flood. He reveals that he has had Chuuya break and distort the track/rail of each partition wall when they entered. That way, it will prevent the doors to close properly, letting the water leak outside and allowing them to easily escape. He then says that if one cannot even think of that, they do not have enough qualification to use the gravity manipulation.
Sigma does not get why Fyodor could do that, Dazai then explains to him that Fyodor must have put one of his vampire among the guards, and when he couldn't contact with that vampire anymore, he was able to guess that the control room has been taken. It also means that Fyodor has already been in control of Mersault way before Dazai took his action.
Fyodor admits he was caught by surprirse with the attack though, and even though it is seemingly a suitable trial for a servant of God like him, he is weak and cannot stand it if he catches a cold, so he wants to return the favor by making Dazai and Sigma go through the same trial. After he says so, the elevator starts to be filled with water. The two of them try to get out as the door being locked and Fyodor praying for them to be held in the hands of God.
The chapter ends here. Next issue will be released on March 3 (Japan time). Thanks for reading till the end <3

BSD MEN & THEIR LOVE LANGUAGES
➪ characters : osamu dazai, chuuya nakahara, ryūnosuke akutagawa, fyodor dostoyevsky, sigma
➪ other notes : its 4 am and i’m wide awake, so i decided to write tooth rotting fluff on my own accord, non edited, also this kinda sucks because im basically brain dead but i knew my ideas would go away if i did this later
Tumblr media
osamu dazai :
physical touch
- dazai would rather have a dog than not be in your arms late at night
- even at work, he often has his hand on top of yours or he intertwines your legs together, later to be scolded by kunikida
- you ground him in a safe space that he’s definitely not used to but he consumes whole
- whether it be holding pinkies or him holding onto you like a koala, there’s a part of him that always needs to be with you
- congratulations, you now have a clingy dazai who whines for your warmth
chuuya nakahara :
gift giving
- chuuya has always had a very difficult time expressing his love for you, most of the time coming out as anger
- even if it’s an inexpensive snack you saw at the store, he pays close attention and buys it for you even if you don’t ask for it
- your wobbly lips and sweet smile are enough for him, always wanting you to be happy
- nothing is too much money for him, if you want it or even look at it, you have it, take it as a token of gratitude for putting up with him
- congratulations, you now have a chuuya who’s willing to do anything for your smile
ryūnosuke akutagawa :
acts of service
- akutagawa, the bloodhound of the mafia, who helps you out on any task, minor or major
- whilst he isn’t your perfect partner, he tries to show you that he actually does care, his way being doing chores or maybe errands
- you reached a level of connection with him that he subconsciously does these things for you, always set on making you content
- a part of him leaves his body when you thank him with a kind smile and a small hug
- congratulations, you now have a whipped akutagawa who’s likes to help you out a lot
fyodor dostoyevsky :
quality time
- fyodor has always lived a simple life, outside of his terrorism of course, but this extends to you, the simplicity of it all
- he’s the least ideal partner but he still does tend to your needs, being around you often
- whether it’s tea time, or a small dance in your living area, or maybe even before bed, you both enjoy those quiet moments together
- he believes words are useless when actions show heavier weight, so he instead spends time with you to express his love
- congratulations, you now have a lingering fyodor who appreciates these small moments
sigma :
words of affection
- sigma doesn’t know much about love, but he does know how to convey it with words
- ironically out of everyone, he’s the one who expresses his affection so freely with you, wearing his heart on his sleeve for you
- you don’t use him nor do you take advantage of him, you deserve kindness so that’s what he gives to his partner whom he cares about
- unlike fyodor he believes words open up one’s soul to others, their true feelings
- congratulations, now you have a lovey dovey sigma who doesn’t shut his mouth around you

“Thank god you’re back,” you groaned as your lover entered the hospital room, arms full of different goodies. He set down the food, change of clothes, and laptop onto the tray table before walking over to you. You were currently standing, bent over and leaning on the side of the hospital bed, one hand holding the underside of your incredibly swollen belly while the other had the white bedsheets in a death grip.
You weren’t able to get an epidural yet, so you were stuck enduring the god-awful contractions until you were dilated enough. Your lover, Fyodor, had been by your side this whole time but left briefly to obtain food and other things you needed from home. With your permission to do so, of course. The 45 minutes he was gone felt like 10 hours.
He placed a small hand on your back but you flinched, your skin overly sensitive at the moment.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, sound very concerned. At the exact same time, a deep contraction rippled through your body and you gripped the sheets fiercely, moaning in pain.
“Why is that even a fucking question?” you hissed, out of breath. You didn’t intend to be mean, you were just incredibly overwhelmed and your emotions had gotten the better of you. Luckily, Fyodor was always incredibly patient with you and your random emotional outbursts, always doing his best to comfort you instead of starting a fight. You honestly couldn’t believe how lucky you had gotten to have such an amazing, compassionate lover like Fyodor.
“You’re right,” he said, chuckling softly to try and lift the mood.
He moved closer to you and draped his tall, lanky frame over your back, using both hands to hold the underside of your belly, relieving some of the uncomfortable weight. You moaned at the slight relief, and leaned back into him.
“Baby dropped and is pulling me down with her.”
Fyodor smiled silently to himself before kissing the top of your head affectionately.
“Ya know,” he started, leaning in close. “Obviously I’ve always thought you were gorgeous and sexy, but god are you fucking irresistible pregnant.” You moaned loudly, the unexpected words filling your already clouded brain.
“Love how round and swollen your belly is, so full of my baby. Watching your bump grow has been such a privilege, but such a turn on. The way your pants slowly stopped fitting and your shirts couldn’t stretch over your bump constantly made me horny. Carrying my baby. Our baby. The one we made together, filling you up completely.”
“Are you- are you serious?” you asked, hand instinctively coming to rest on the top of your bump.
“Dead serious. But never wanted to make you feel weird,” he said, resting his chin on your head.
You opened your mouth to respond but instead jerked in pain in Fyodor’s grip as you were hit with yet another contraction. It knocked the breath out of you, and Fyodor had to hold you tight to his chest to keep your legs from giving out. As soon as it was over and you could breathe again, Fyodor convinced you it was probably best to stay laying down at this point. You were stubborn and hated admitting defeat, but let him help you lay down in the hospital bed.
You looked down to see wet stains on the chest of your gown and realized you had released some milk for an unknown reason. You sighed as you imagined this was going to become a very common occurrence. While you hadn’t known the extent to which Fyodor found your pregnant self sexy, you had very well known how obsessed he was with your breasts that had almost tripled in size since you became pregnant. They swelled just as your stomach did, and while Fyodor was typically an ass guy, he was over the moon with how supple and sensitive they had become. He absolutely loved to touch and hold them, and you honestly didn’t mind the massages and weight relief. He had yet to tell you about his lactation kink though.
Suddenly the doctor walked into the room, put on surgical gloves and settled down on a rolling stool at the foot of your bed.
“Here to check how dilate you are, hon!” she said far too cheerfully, and you did your best not to give her a death glare. After uncomfortably shoving two gloved fingers inside you to gauge how far along you were, the number she gave you made you want to punch her in the face.
“Two centimeters? Are you fucking kidding? I’ve been in pain for hours,” you complained. If it weren’t for Fyodor moving closer to you to hold your hand and kiss your forehead, you probably would’ve burst into tears.
The doctor looked apologetic, and placed a hand on your leg. “Some people just take longer than others to dilate. All we can do is wait, hon. I’m sorry. If it’s really taking too long, we can induce labor, but it’s far too early for that.”
And just like that, she was out of the room just as fast as she came in. Fyodor sat down on the side of your bed, one hand still intertwined with yours, the other brushing the hair out of your eyes.
“Two fucking centimeters,” you growled, wanting to scream. You could see the pain on Fyodor’s face, knowing this had almost as much of an emotional toll on him too.
“I know, darling, I’m so sorry,” he said sweetly, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead. “You’ll get there eventually, and all will be good.”
“Easy for you to say,” you grumbled, attempting to cross your arms over your chest but failing due to the baby still inside you getting in the way. He just squeezed your hand tighter and pet your hair.
Suddenly, an idea popped into your head. A little bit insane, but you weren’t at your most rational anyway.
“Hey, babe.”
“Yes, my love,” Fyodor responded, voice as sweet and tender as always.
“I’ve heard from some people that there’s something you can do to make your cervix dilate faster.”
His eyes narrowed and eyebrows furrowed. “And what is that?”
“Well…” you trailed off, suddenly regretting the decision.
“Well, what? You can tell me.”
“Sex.”
“What?” he choked on the word.
“Yeah. Apparently sex during labor can induce dilation and speed up the process, and it’s perfectly safe.”
He still just stared at you wordlessly, eyes wide.
“S-, So, you want me to have sex with you? Right now?”
You looked at Fyodor with sweet eyes and a small pout, a look you knew was his kryptonite.
“Would you, please? Would you fuck me?”
You heard his breath catch and knew there was no way he was saying no now. Not here, not like this.
Suddenly, his expression changed. His eyes darkened and a small smirk spread across his face.
“Of course, my darling. Whatever you wish.”
Wasting no time, Fyodor quickly shut the window blinds and shoved a chair under the door handle. You could see the outline of his growing erection through his pants and smiled to yourself.
Then he was joining you on the hospital bed, hovering over your frame. You looked at him with innocent eyes, though you were anything but. He lifted up your hospital gown to just above your tits, putting all of you fully on display. He stared at you hungrily. On his knees and bent over, he began kissing up your pregnant belly, and being reminded of you carrying, and soon birthing, his child made his cock harden all the way. He ran his fingers lightly over your skin, following the lines of the stretch marks he found so beautiful. You were so beautiful. He couldn’t stop, loved your bump so much, kept pressing kisses and small touches all over.
You sat up a bit – as much as you could, anyway – to look at Fyodor.
“Fedya, love, can we do this quick?” He looked up at you as if he was just snapped out of a trance.
“Yes, of course. Gladly.”
With Fyodor’s help, you were able to position your legs in a way that would grant him access to your pussy, which proved to be difficult considering the size of your belly. He pulled off his pants and underwear and moved to kiss you languidly. His hand rested softly on the back of your head, and for a moment this felt like normal, intimate sex. But any sex with Fedya was beautiful.
His fingers wandered to your pussy and pushed inside, feeling how sopping wet you were and groaning. Definitely just a part of childbirth, but sexy nonetheless.
“You ready, darling?” he asked, leaning away from the kiss to position himself.
“So ready.” He smirked.
He lined his already aching cock up with your swollen pussy, thrusting and gliding in with beautiful ease. The moan of pleasure you let out was almost pornographic, and you slapped a hand over your mouth. You weren’t that worried though, you definitely were not the only one on that floor screaming.
Fyodor was the same, biting back a deep groan as your pussy wrapped around him like it never had before. Swollen due to hormones but stretched to allow for a baby to move through, your gaping hole squeezed his cock beautifully.
With your nod of approval, he began to move, thrusting in and out of you with a slowly increasing speed. He wasn’t able to lean over your belly to kiss you or your neck, so he settled for massaging your sensitive breasts. They were so sensitive at the moment, and the massage felt heavenly.
Soon he was fucking into you at full force, shaking the hospital bed with his thrusts. You were moaning and whining loudly, had given up on keeping quiet long ago. Fyodor himself was grunting and groaning too, overwhelmed by the feeling.
“Feel so fucking good around my cock, darling. So tight and dripping fucking wet for me, and for our baby.”
All you could do was whine in response, both hands gripping the bedrails with tightly. There was something about this situation that amplified your pleasure ten times over, and you were overwhelmed with the pleasure filling your body with each thrust.
“Filling my pussy up all the way with your cock.” He groaned at your words.
At one point you had to take a break as a sudden contraction hit you, and you squeezed Fyodor’s hands tightly as you rode it out. As soon as it was over, he was right back inside you again.
He fucked you hard and he fucked you good, helping you keep your legs open by holding them under the knees. You chanted his name like a spell, and tears dripped out of your eyes as a physical response to the overwhelming pleasure.
Both his hands came to rest once again on your belly, placing your legs over his thighs for support instead. He couldn’t stop staring at it, couldn’t stop staring at you. SO round, so big, so full. Full of him. You had his baby in your womb and his cock in your pussy – you couldn’t be fuller. As he continued fucking you, his mind replayed some of his favorite memories of you pregnant: the time on Halloween where you painted a pumpkin on your round belly, the day where you cried because you were too big to fit in Fyodor’s T-shirts anymore, the way you teared up when you were finally far enough along to see a bump. Pregnancy hadn’t been perfectly easy for you, but it was a beautiful process that Fyodor cherished.
He was snapped out of his trance by your whimpers.
“Feels so, so good Fedya, please, harder.”
He was never one to deny you anything. He thrusted into you deep and hard, both of you moaning with heightened pleasure.
“Gonna cum right inside you, darling, fill you up with another baby,” he growled.
“Oh god, please,” you whined.
And soon Fyodor was spilling all his cum inside you, fucking you slowly through it. He pulled out quickly and redressed before unblocking the door, slightly frantic. More than absolutely anything, he wanted to lay in bed with you and tell you how beautiful you are and how good you were for him, but a nurse or doctor was bound to come by at any second now. He cleaned you up with a towel, making sure there were no visible remnants of his cum left in or around you. Not super sexy, but definitely necessary.
And sure enough, the doctor had returned not long after, and her eyes widened as she checked your cervix.
“7 centimeters…” she said, baffled. “How did you dilate so much in less than an hour?”
You kept your face emotionless but made eye contact with Fyodor, who was on the verge of cackling.
“She’s just ready to come out, I guess,” you said, feigning the sweetest, most innocent smile you could.
At least it worked.

can you name every time in which dazai has expressed care for chuuya?
Sure, I can try. Dazai has a unique brand of care and it shows less as the more obvious show of affection and more as an interest in people. Lets go chronologically
Dazai's irritation at the meeting with the sheep in 15. He has imo already started his own weird bonding ritual with Chuuya by that point and wants him as his personal friend, his dog in Dazai lingo cause he is a moron. He gets irked at the way Shirase, and by extension the sheep, make demands of Chuuya. That being said, this is still early and he more or less just uses this info to exploit for later.
Dazai's fascination from the GSS squad vs Chuuya fight develops into Dazai wanting to keep living. And I think that is some kind of care because Dazai legit is vibing with the guy by this point. Him wanting Chuuya to be assigned to him and not Koyou and printing out newsletters about him etc all seem to point towards some weird way of wanting to be on talking terms with him.
In stormbringer Dazai carrying Chuuya all the way across the city to the Old World so he can see Albatross and hear his final words is very important to me.
Dazai's growing agitation at them not getting to Chuuya in time during his capture. Its not as noticeable but he was uncharacteristically insistent.
Dazai's insistence on Chuuya's humanity in general.
Dazai's entire plan in sb was so he could get his hands on details about Chuuya. Like he flat out admits that Mori and the mafia dont really matter to him here and Chuuya even understands that.
That one scene when Guivre first appears and Dazai whispers to Chuuya to not look. An underrated scene imo.
The very well known scene where Dazai gives Chuuya a genuine choice and was willing to put the entire city at risk because he believes Chuuya has a right to his humanity and past. Also him explicitly laying out everything in front of Chuuya.
Obviously him catching him as he fell and holding him or whatever. But also another underrated scene where when Chuuya feels lost at the care shown to his person by Adam in the epilogue Dazai has the softest most fond reaction.
In the day I picked up Dazai he talks about Chuuya to Oda. I think its cute.
Onto dragon head now: Dazai completely flipping from completely unbothered about the war to deciding enough was enough when Chuuya calls him out with a punch and is genuinely mad at him. He is very subdued throughout the manga panels. He doesn't evem tease him. Him quietly accepting that Chuuya needs to use corruption and despite him telling Dazai not to stop him he nullifies corruption by touching his face and then letting him rest on his lap and even puts his hat on his head. Hell Dazai's entire perception of events changes because of Chuuya, from making light of the colonel's death to angrily telling Shibusawa that he had crossed a line with that act. Also Dazai's "get shot and die" line is explained to be a code warning Chuuya of an incoming grenade.
Onto the manga timeline: Dazai is generally far nicer and more civil with Chuuya than any of the mafia members post defection. He gives Chuuya a choice with Lovecraft again, he is very gentle with Chuuya when nullifying corruption, not letting go of him till he knows Chuuya would be able to handle his own weight unlike with say Atsushi. He folds his clothes and brings his hat back. Note that the hat is very important to Chuuya.
Dead apple has Dazai's face when he touches Chuuya to nullify him and then holding him down post corruption. And the sheer trust he has in a Chuuya to follow through on a plan that was never discussed. And Chuuya's hat magically appearing in his line of sight when he leaves. Also you can't tell me he doesnt care when he makes that face.
Dazai's anger at Fyodor bringing Chuuya to Meursault is self explanatory, his bond being questioned is too but particularly his whole speech in 101 where he starts thinking back on their moments is proof enough that he genuinely cares about Chuuya in some weird obsessive way.

Other theories I have about the conclusion to the Meursault arc, in no particular order and in varying degrees of conviction and likelihood:
Dazai believes he is not going to make it out of the prison and in fact thinks he is going to die. He says that he will make sure Sigma gets out but doesn't mention himself. Says his goal isn't to escape but to kill Dostoevsky. He's also being weirdly open about his emotions. Mind you, I think it would be odd if he were to actually die in this arc given that it doesn't make a lot of sense to me character-wise but. Idk.
Dostoevsky is not going to die this arc. Look, we still know nothing about him! I feel he's a much bigger threat than Fukuchi and that we're just barely scratching the surface with him. We know nothing about his ability, nothing about the V connection, nothing about what he's been setting up for apparently longer than most of the younger cast have been active. It can't end like this for him. In fact, he's the only one I'm adamant won't be killed in this arc.
Gogol is the true wildcard and may end up as a spanner in the works - he says he wants Dostoevsky dead but when Dazai or Chuuya or both gain the upper hand, he sways events to give Fyodor an advantage while brushing it off with "it's more interesting and entertaining like this". The real reason is that he doesn't actually want him dead at all. At the same time, I wonder if he might find Sigma and try to work with him to get the info he wanted. I seem to recall he wanted information on what Fyodor's ability was. Gogol is on no one's side. Let him be chaotic.
Sigma will manage to extract the information from Fyodor - as he cannot kill ability users with his own ability. Based on that one theory that Crime and Punishment only works on non-ability users, hence why Fyodor tricked Ace into killing himself and shot Catgirl with a gun. I wonder if Sigma, spurred on by a new burst of confidence, will take some initiative, figure it out (he's quite intelligent, actually, so I wouldn't put it past him), and get the information he needs.
Chuuya deflected the bullet shot at Catgirl so that it drew blood but did not kill her. Or Catgirl froze time long enough to make a plan with Chuuya. (*sob* i just don't want her to be dead)
They are able to use the info Sigma got to send it back to the Agency, thus wrapping up the DoA arc. However, Dostoevsky has gotten away, which means the four of them - Dazai, Sigma, Chuuya and Catgirl - need to go on a chaotic manhunt/road trip to find him. Chuuya is driving. He is livid at Dazai and is giving him the silent treatment while turning on the radio in the car with music he knows will annoy him. Dazai is shoved in the backseat between Sigma and Catgirl, pouting. Catgirl is revealed to be a kleptomaniac who keeps stealing stuff from them and all the places they stop at. She's not even supposed to be there she just enjoys the drama and the vibes. And poor Sigma does not want this at all but he has some moments where he and Chuuya get to talk and that's somewhat civil. Maybe they end up recruiting Adam for assistance. This makes no sense. :)
Gogol saves Dostoevsky because he doesn't really want him dead. This sends him into a crisis where he becomes more and more volatile and unpredictable. Terrible road-trip #2 electric boogaloo. Gogol keeps trying to kill him and becomes erratic, poisoning his drink, brandishing a knife, holding him at gunpoint. He tries to strangle him but cannot follow through. Fyodor does not care because for as long as Gogol's attachment exists, Fyodor is in control. Gogol knows that for as long as his attachment exists, he can never be free. I am aware this sounds like a screwed up fanfic premise. I want angst. :)
Dostoevsky put something in place for Chuuya on the off-chance that he managed to escape the brainwashing. There's no real evidence for this other than I think it makes some sense that Fyodor would have an emergency measure in place. Perhaps access to misleading information that might make him question things? Idk. Fyodor plays the long game. I want some real effects on the cast.
Got anything to add? :D

Tuna, messed up idea, but imagine thriller buddy cop comedy turned full blown yandere horror with: scapegoat! Darling based on the serial killer au. Darling just has terrible luck and gets pinned all the murders and worse thing? they wake up one day, covered in blood, in a strange place with the cold corpse of a red headed man. It takes a while for the implications of what happened to hit them and they later find out they now have mutiple abilities. Abilities they never had before. Or! maybe, this is a crappy isekai au with bad end! serial killer reader. sigma 🤝 isekai scapegoat darling - 🦄 (im thinking about random ideas too much while i should be finishing other wips and ideas.)
manga spoilers below regarding the unknown doa members and a future part of the doa's plan :) i took liberties with the extent of the book's abilities so. don't question it hfhfh
in the same universe as sk reader, but this time, reader is a stranger who has been brought into the bsd world as a pawn in fyodor's new plan. here, fyodor has broken out of meursault already. fyodor centric but implied sigma x reader and nikolai x reader
cw: murder, dark isekai, death, start of an obsession, manipulation, kind of dehumanization of reader, fyodor is Evil.
Tumblr media
let's say things were not going according to plan. the hunting dogs had found the coin bombs in the casino, and now all eyes were on sigma and the associated members, mushitarou was out and working with ango and the ada, and the port mafia had seemingly come to help the ada too. it would only be a matter of time before kamui's identity was revealed, and that would destroy everything he's worked for thus far.
it would be easy to do as kamui says and unleash bram's infection across the population; it would only take weeks, if not days, for the virus to spread with kamui's ability in hand. but fyodor disagreed with his decision. no, there was a better way to do things. all he needed was time to distract the public and get everything back on track. if kamui's identity was revealed now...it would throw the world into chaos, yes, but not the kind he needed.
this called for his last resort.
though he hadn't told anyone, there was a little more than a side of a page left blank in the book. on the written side, he had intentionally left a very part blank on the offchance that things would stop going his way. kamui was unaware. of course, but that was for the best.
the first order of business was to ensure ango sakaguchi was dead.
his ability would prove to be too much of a hindrance since he could use it to find kamui and the others. with the information he had, he could somewhat be certain of where ango was and what he would be doing.
under the moonlight, he writes, ango sakaguchi walks down the alleyway, believing himself to be alone. suddenly, there's a strange sensation at the back of his neck; he considers turning around to face his pursuer and slowly reaches for his gun. but it's too late. the minute his hand reaches for the handle, something pierces his chest...
he can almost feel the words coming to life, twisting reality. fyodor smiles to himself as he finishes writing the last line; besides the corpse of ango sakaguchi, a person awakens. in their hand is a gun, the bullets of which match the ones inside ango. he writes about the blood splattered newcomer methodically cleaning up the scene and disposing of the body and evidence.
this person's ability allows them to take the ability 'discourse on decadence' for themselves.
it's a little bit harder to alter history, to make it so that the deaths of numerous ability users before were a result of his new subordinate's work, and give you all the power you need to be useful to him. he has to write down all the details about the deceased users so that there are no discrepancies, has to ensure the crime scenes are cleaned up but with enough clues so the implication is clear. there is a serial killer loose in yokohama, one that has been targeting ability users for almost a decade now.
the special division wouldn't be surprised that ango had become a victim; it made sense because he had been strongly involved in the case for a while now, but this also made it a priority. files about the sky casino were put on hold, and now the terrorists of the armed detective agency and the serial killer were the priority of the government.
it's funny; the special division thinks that the serial killer is working with the ada, which is why you were not caught despite the agency being aware of your presence all this time, and the ada believes you to be working with the doa. they would all be running in circles, chasing their own beliefs, with no consideration of fyodor's involvement.
nikolai brings him updates; his pawn is in a constant state of confusion and shock, and still unable to use your ability as it was intended. you're plagued by nightmares, too, and still afraid of everyone. he chides fyodor for not writing you to be a calm, composed person, so you would continue your work as fyodor intended you to, but he only had so much space. besides, he tells nikolai, pawns can be trained, too; like pets. all he needs is to offer you a home, an identity, and a life—just like he offered sigma—and you'd be eating out of his hand. what did it matter to you, after that, if a few more lives were lost as long as it guaranteed your own survival?
he arranges for documents to be made; for you to have your own job and home so that there's no suspicion about your identity, arranges for nikolai to surveil you closely and watch out for the eyes of god, lest you're caught by fitzgerald, and for sigma to gain your trust. he himself comes to let you know about all the abilities you have and helps you wield them easily
it's a shame. on paper, you were the perfect pawn—but you're too weak to act on your own yet. he doesn't mind the extra time spent, however, and he coaxes you into targeting mushitarou, whose ability would be extremely useful, but your hands still shake even when he places his over yours and directs the gun for you, and you still cry when you see the blood pooling out of mushitarou, folding in on yourself with shallow breaths. you still tremble when he asks you to use your newest ability.
you're still sniffling when he pets your head and suggests you clean up, and though you go quiet, he can tell you're still haunted by your actions when he looks at the glossy emptiness of your eyes. even after all this time, you still look conflicted when he praises you for a job well done.
it doesn't matter what you feel right now, anyway. fyodor smiles to himself when he catches sight of you slumped up against sigma, watching the other go through his customer files, because he would never let you leave. you don't have anywhere else to go, or anyone else to turn to. nobody would accept you like they have, and you knew that; even if you were so terrified that your hands froze over the trigger or you can't pull the knife out, you'd still force yourself to do it if he asks.
truly, you make for a perfect pet.

can I ask why you ship dazai x fyodor? just curious! I feel like not a lot of people do
Hi, anon! Not enough people ship fyozai, that's for sure :/
Why do I ship them? Because of this:
Tumblr media
And this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this:
Tumblr media
And they're canon, actually:
Tumblr media
And just, like, whatever they had going on in Dead Apple:
Tumblr media
They are just so interesting together. I went into depth on my view of the two of them in this post (an older post now, but it still sums it up pretty well), but it really comes down to how fascinating it is how their characters play off of one another. They are the perfect enemies-to-lovers ship, if you ask me.
They can predict what moves the other one will make and they can predict that the other one will predict that they’re predicting each other, and they can predict that the other one will predict that the other one will predict - on and on into infinity sdfghjghj (although according to the anime Fyodor couldn't predict that Dazai would stick Chuuya in a Halloween costume...but I'm not going to rant about The Season Finale That Shall Not Be Acknowledged here). They're ridiculous. Completely and utterly ridiculous. They play mental chess together.
THEY HAVE THEIR OWN SECRET LANGUAGE.
THEY ARE SOULMATES.
I love their dynamic and how they stand opposed to each other. It's not that one of them is "good" and the other is "evil." Dazai is not good. Fyodor believes that humanity is sinful and foolish. Dazai does not disagree with him. He does not think humanity is good or that the world is a good place. Dazai is amoral; he is not Kunikida, an idealist pursuing justice, and he is not kind-hearted Atsushi.
Really the difference between Dazai and Fyodor is their opposing views of how the world works and should work. Fyodor wants order, perfect justice. Dazai does not believe such a thing exists. It's not that Dazai has hope where Fyodor does not; it's just that Dazai has accepted the world for all its darkness, and Fyodor has not.
And Fyodor does not believe there is any value to life. Dazai is starting to believe there is.
That's such an interesting and multilayered conflict that could be explored in so many different ways...especially if you do what I do and headcanon a redemption arc for Fyodor, haha. They are a lot of fun to write fics of! 😆
Two superhuman geniuses that are so evenly matched they could rule the world together if they wanted. What's not to love about that? I absolutely adore them 😌💖💖
Honestly, I've been a lot more into fyosig lately (talk about a rarepair SDFGHFGH), but fyozai is still my main otp. It's a shame more people don't ship them! I just think they're neat (´꒳`)♡
Thanks a lot for asking, anon! Do you ship Dazai and/or Fyodor with anyone? If you don't mind me asking :3

New episode of Bungou Stray Dogs and I'm just traumatized to no fucking end. This is one of my favorite series and the emotional turmoil is just on and on.
First off, I was lowkey disappointed that Chuuya was faking being a vampire...in my personal opinion that was fucking disappointing. I don't know why i'm being so picky about it because I'm usually never this picky but it just felt lackluster idk. Like oh the pain and the suffering?? yeah neither of them were being genuine like fuck me because they were acting to trick Fyodor. I know I'm not supposed to interpret it that way but still.
How do you just...fake being a vampire???? against Fyodor who should be smart enough to see through that??? The contacts and glued on fangs made me giggle like come on.
I was theorizing that Dazai used the power of the transitive property to nullify the vampirism through the gun, boy was I off-track.
I know it's not believable in the first place that Chuuya got bit cause this man is too OP but more believable than him faking being a vampire the entire time. As a avid soukoku shipper it just makes me wonder if all the speeches Dazai said to Chuuya were as genuine as I believed(I still believe they're genuine just not as genuine as if Chuuya were actually in danger) since Dazai knew Chuuya was ok.
Tumblr media
At least Chuuya looks hella hot(as always and as HE SHOULD)
Also I refuse to believe Fyodor's dead and I'm not even a Fyodor stan (I like him don't come for me I'm just not crazy about him)
For a man that was so much trouble he sure died somewhat anticlimactically but uh referencing Jesus as his last words was pretty sick since I love allusions. Also we didn't even get a backstory and we don't even know what his powers are like???? nahhhhhh he gotta be alive.
He had the same last words as Jesus and you know what happened to Jesus? Bitch never stayed dead.
Tumblr media
Though that Fyolai scene where Nikolai is cradling Fyodor's severed arm and reflecting on how "he fought so he could lose himself" and the pursuit of freedom resulting in freedom from the shackles of being tied down by emotions to a friend maybe only to realize the feeling is not as freeing as he thought.
Tumblr media
FYOLAI NATION IS NOT WINNING, NIKOLAI LOOKS SO SAD. AND THAT MEANS I WAS SAD, FYODOR CAN'T BE DEAD.
Anyway I still love this finale and the sad sad conclusion brought to Fukuchi and Fukuzawa and how in the end, one man wanted to end war, and the other didn't want his friend to go astray like this.

Now I know everyone else is losing it about 110 (and I am to to an extent though I believe in Akutagawa saving Aya) but I having delusional theory thoughts about 109, Dazai and No Longer Human and I have to share them.
It starts with the fact that Dazai can canonically channel his ability through objects. We know this because this is how he and Chuuya defeated Randou in the 15 light novel. This is why Dazai’s ability works even through clothing and why Tainted can’t be used on Dazai even through a conduit. In 109, we see Chuuya directly touch the gun to Dazai’s head before he shot him. We cannot, however, see if that gun is still touching Dazai when Chuuya takes the headshot. All we know for sure is that Dazai was shot 4 times, there are only three impact holes on the wall, and we never actually see the bullet make impact on his head.
This is my theory thus far:
Chuuya, thanks to Arahabaki, is not completely under Fyodor’s control in that he has some free will to move and see and hear but he cannot disobey a direct order. Chuuya understands exactly what Dazai’s angle was when he tried to provoke him into punching him.
Fyodor tells Chuuya to back off since being touched nullifies the vampirism. But what Chuuya knows and supposedly Fyodor doesn’t is that Dazai does not have to directly touch him. All he needs is for Dazai to simultaneously be in contact with the same object as him. So he shoots Dazai in the shoulder (perhaps to show he has free will perhaps just to get Dazai back for all the suffering his plans put Chuuya through in the past) and uses that chance to get up close and touch the gun to Dazai’s head. This action then nullifies the vampirism.
Dazai, initially shocked by the shoulder wound (likely because even he couldn’t be exactly sure how conscious Chuuya was under the vampirism), immediately picks up on what Chuuya has done. However, they cannot under any circumstances let Fyodor know what’s happened. Hence the ‘Am I though?’ when Fyodor tells him he’s all out of plans and the line about finding the right words to cause a miracle and have Chuuya returning to normal. This is Dazai’s subtle way of saying ‘I see and I understand but now is not the right moment to play our hand’
Everything from this point onward is an act. Chuuya and Dazai are just pretending Chuuya is still under Fyodor’s control. Chuuya can take step back and then manipulate the gravity of the bullet shot at Dazai’s head. Since it’s being effected by an ability, it would nullify the instant it touched Dazai’s skin. If I’m understanding how No Longer Human worlds correctly, this means the bullet would theoretically drop harmlessly to the ground, but not before causing a surface wound in the split second between when the bullet hits its target and Dazai’s ability kicking in. This makes for a fairly believable act since Fyodor doesn’t have a good enough angle to see the bullet fall.
Chuuya fires the additional two shots are also a part of the act so that Fyodor will be confidant that even though the headshot didn’t kill Dazai immediately, he was still as good as dead thanks to the other three shots and the broken leg. He then steps back (still not facing the camera) and pretends to be completely unaffected.
Fyodor will have assumed he won. He thinks Dazai is dead, he thinks Sigma is dead. With all the guards gone and Dazai gone, he has no further use for Chuuya. This allows for soukoku to make their move and execute (an albeit modified version of) Dazai’s original plan. (Which I’m personally choosing to believe was killing Fyodor and getting Sigma out, relying on Yosano to be on standby should something happen to Sigma. Her presence though would also ensure his survival as long as they’re quick enough)
Now granted. Chuuya’s eyes look the same as they have the whole arc and he has no visible reaction to this turn of events. But we don’t see his fangs and there’s also the fact he’s also known Dazai for a very, very long time. They know each other inside and out. The hardly even need to communicate anymore to know what the other is thinking. The moment Chuuya comes back to himself is the exact moment everything turns back in Dazai’s favor because they are Soukoku and together they are unstoppable.
Chuuya may not be as brilliant as Dazai but they would not have been such good partners nor rivals if Chuuya was not capable of thinking on his feet fast enough to keep up with Dazai’s thought processes. They also wouldn’t have made good partners if Chuuya hadn’t at some point learned to play up the roles Dazai’s elaborate plans required. If he’s smart enough to keep up with Dazai’s lightning quick plans then he is capable of thinking on his feet fast enough to come with his own way of achieving Dazai’s original goal. (Nullifying Chuuya)
I honestly think with the way it was specifically framed so that even we can’t see what actually happened when Chuuya shot that gun plus knowing this additional fact about how Dazai’s ability works plus the odd number of bullet impacts plus the fact there is no way Dazai would have been able to speak after being shot in the head like that is enough evidence for me to say with reasonable confidence that Dazai is not dead.
I also love the idea that this was not a part of Dazai’s plan. He was not expecting Chuuya to be there initially and after the failed attempt to provoke Chuuya he was not expecting to survive that encounter. I love the idea that Chuuya is one of the few people capable of actually taking Dazai by surprise and that he genuinely did not expecting a turn of events that could actually end in his survival. We already know Dazai wasn’t planning on escaping the prison anyways. All Dazai needed was to get the information he needed on Fyodor’s ability and stop Fyodor from further interfering with his plans to stop the Decay of Angels. What happens to his own life doesn’t matter as long as those two goals are accomplished and he can put his trust in Sigma and his ‘Angel’ to finish what he started.
But with Chuuya in the picture and on his side, he perhaps doesn’t have much of a choice. There’s no way Chuuya is gonna let him just die like that. (He may still die but Chuuya is def gonna do his best to prevent that.) I love the implication that it would be all thanks to Chuuya, his quick thinking, his deep understanding of both his partner’s thought processes and ability, and his genuine desire to see Dazai live that Dazai has any chance of survival at all.
(Bonus notes and at the end since it would have interrupted my flow but. Knowing BSD and it’s penchant for dramatic twists and crazy cliff hangers I would not put it past Asagiri and Harukawa to have portrayed Chuuya as still a vampire just to up the suspense)

Light Novel Evidence
Tumblr media
This is a man who genuinely does not understand What The Fuck just happened and is mad about it because he prides himself on not being taken by surprise.
Tumblr media
This is the face of a man who realizes something is happening but is so thrown he hasn’t quite figured out what yet
Tumblr media
And this is the face of a man who has figured out exactly why things just played out the way they did out and is pleasantly surprised by it.
Tumblr media
Gunshot? What gunshot? I don’t see anything here? hmmm….. (also verrrrry convenient that we cannot see Chuuya’s expression in this panel. In fact we don’t see his face at all any of the times he fires the gun after the initial shot. Which if you ask me is pretty sus.)
I would also like to point out that the vampires don’t seem to talk, and that there hasn’t been a single point since Chuuya’s introduction as a vampire where he has any sort of speech or thought bubble assigned to him. Just sound effects.
Not a single point. EXCEPT.
Tumblr media
This panel here. Right after Dazai supposedly ‘dies’ we get to see Chuuya going ‘…’
But why would they include that? We know he’s a vampire and we know he doesn’t talk. (I’m thinking they can’t speak unless ordered to and/or Chuuya has been ordered not to speak to Dazai). Chuuya could have just stood there silently and emotionless without the ‘…’ bubble and it would have had the same effect. Unless this was a way to highlight that Chuuya is specifically choosing not to say something rather than being completely unable to. Which. Interesting to think about. (I won’t discount the possibility that it’s supposed to highlight Dazai’s silence but personally that would have made more sense if they put it on the empty Dazai panel instead. Plus I think this idea is way more interesting.)
Anyways if you stuck around to the end I’d love to know what y’all think of this

Chuuya tending to Dazai in Meursault (Dazai's POV)
tags: soukoku's version of fluff
tw: suicidal ideation, bullet wound, blood
Despite the gnawing, constant craving for death, Dazai found himself grateful to be alive.
Phantom pain from the bullets that barely grazed his skin had him rubbing at his forehead, his abdomen, a feeble attempt at ignoring the hole in his shoulder, the break in his leg. He tried to sit up, tried to push himself up to lean against the wall, but his head was swimming with blood loss and fluorescent lighting, and every small movement was hell.
Chuuya had really done a number on him.
Chuuya had also saved his life.
If Chuuya hadn't shown up when he did, hadn't saved Dazai in that elevator shaft and alerted him to the fact that he was here and he was alive and he was not, in fact, a vampire, then Dazai would be dead, would have fallen to his death. Would have finally gotten what he wanted.
Is that what he wanted? It wouldn't have been suicide. Just dumb luck.
Still.
"You sleeping?" came Chuuya's voice, his usual edge of annoyance pulling Dazai from his trance. He'd just returned from the medical bay holding some sort of case.
Dazai looked up at him from where he lay on the ground, blinking a few times, focusing and refocusing his eyes. "Just taking in the view."
"I swear to god," Chuuya said, pointing at Dazai, "if you laugh, I'm locking your broken ass back up myself."
Dazai smirked. "Is that a promise?"
Chuuya frowned, and it took all of Dazai's will to not laugh at the sight. His eyes were still tinted red, fangs poking out just beneath his lip, and it would be kind of hot if it wasn't so pathetic.
"I'm leaving you here," Chuuya threatened, actions contradicting his words as he knelt on the floor and set the case down, grabbing Dazai's good shoulder and hoisting him up into a seated position.
Dazai grunted at the movement, plopping his head against the wall as he focused on breathing. "No you won't." He looked at Chuuya, panting. "You'd miss me too much."
Chuuya rolled his eyes. Or at least, it looked like Chuuya rolled his eyes. It was hard to tell behind the contacts. "Just shut up and let me look at you."
"Why Chuuya, there are cameras-"
"I said shut the fuck up, Dazai," Chuuya interrupted, forcing Dazai's hands above his head.
A sharp pain shot through his shoulder as Chuuya tugged the soiled shirt up and over Dazai's head, tossing it aside. He let his arms fall.
Chuuya pulled off his gloves, tucking them into the pocket of his jacket, eyeing the bullet wound in Dazai's shoulder. He opened the case and pulled out an alcohol wipe, tearing it open.
"I know you shot me in the shoulder to make it more believable," Dazai stated, "but you didn't have to keep shooting."
Chuuya ran the wipe across Dazai's skin, cleaning some of the blood wherever he could find it. It was weirdly calming, the word gentle never something that Dazai would have thought he'd ever associate with Chuuya, but in that moment, Chuuya was being gentle with him.
Chuuya must've caught on because it was then that he ran the wipe across the wound, the alcohol strong enough to make Dazai hiss.
That was the Chuuya Dazai knew.
"I stopped all the other bullets, didn't I?" Chuuya sat back, dropping the wipe and pulling some gauze and a bandage roll from the case. "Fyodor thought I was a bloodthirsty vampire. It made sense."
"It felt good, didn't it?" Dazai pried, watching Chuuya work.
Chuuya paused for a moment before placing the gauze over Dazai's shoulder. He began to wrap it with the bandage. "Damn right it did."
Dazai smiled at that. "Guess I deserved it a little."
Chuuya huffed, maneuvering the bandage around Dazai's shoulder until it was completely covering the wound.
"Or maybe Chuuya just wanted an excuse to see me shirtless," he added.
Chuuya slapped his wound.
"Ow!" Dazai grabbed at his shoulder. "Violent little slug."
Before he could say anything else, he caught sight of Chuuya's face. His cheeks were red.
Oh.
Dazai grinned. "Like what you see?"
"Fuck off."
"It's okay, Chuuya, this is a safe space."
Chuuya pulled a brace out of the case. "Do you want me to put this on your leg or not?"
Oh. Chuuya brought him a brace.
That was... thoughtful.
"It's either that or you're carrying me out of here, so take your pick," Dazai teased.
"In your dreams, mackerel."
He loved when Chuuya fought back.
It just made Dazai want to fight harder.
"Yes, it is."
Chuuya's cheeks went red again.
The only thing Dazai loved more than seeing Chuuya all worked up is knowing that he was the one who caused it.
"I'm gonna shoot you in the head for real next time," he spat, moving to kneel next to Dazai's broken leg. He lightly held Dazai's bare ankle, lifting it up and sliding the brace beneath his calf.
Again, with the gentleness.
Chuuya was really giving him mixed signals here.
"And what fun would that- fuck," Dazai choked, gritting his teeth as Chuuya worked at the brace. "Dammit, Chuuya, that fucking hurts."
"Thought we were having fun," said Chuuya, the corner of his lip curling up as he tightened the brace, securing it in place.
Dazai smirked through the pain. "You call that vampire impression fun?"
"Choose your next words carefully, asshole," Chuuya warned. "There's still time for me to shoot you again."
And Dazai...well, Dazai was tired. Exhausted, actually. So for once in his goddamn life, he kept a thought to himself.
He'd tease Chuuya about his vampire screech another day.

hello sweetheart!
I really like your writing, it just fits the characters and you make it sound so casual like ahhhh I love it sm ❤️
I was wondering if you could write some hcs of what being best friends with Dazai, Tachihara or Atsushi and your fav characters would be like? ( I couldn't find the post with info on who you write for, I'm sorry 😭)
also thoughts on calling Kunikida "kuni-kun"? 👉👈
Hiiii <33
ahhh ty I was getting worried that I’m mixing their personalities😭
Bestie Hcs <33
Tumblr media
-> Dazai
The type to call u to hang out in the weirdest times
like, u could be in a meeting for anything and he’d text u “I told Kunikida I did my work let’s go to that café :p” <- didn’t actually do it
if y’all r ever get attacked while hanging out he’ll nonchalantly give u a gun and be like “yk what to do” after explaining nothing
but dw he’ll never put u in a position where u do need to use that
teases u for whatever geeky stuff u like
like, “y/n, I didn’t know u liked this stuff” and then start shouting it for everyone to hear
especially when it’s embarrassing😭
makes super weird nicknames for you and always uses them w mutual friends he doesn’t really know <33
-> Tachihara
the reckless cutie type :p
he rlly does care for u but ppl would say his recklessness would say otherwise 😢
he’s a literal spy and a mafioso so I bet he’ll try to keep u away from his work
tells u abt all the tea abt everything honestly
like, “ah, y/n. Took u long enough! Anyways, get this-” and start talking abt the most outrageous things with a casual face
loved going to arcades and amusement parks w u, makes him feel free of all responsibility
usually uses cute nicknames for u but when he’s mad at u or in a jokey mood he’d prolly pull out those weird ass names and stuff u did like 10 centuries ago <33. -> Atsushi
very pure but also very chaotic
like, if there was something going on he’d be like “y/n, do u see this shit?” While staring
tried to make u laugh 24/7 but always happens when he isn’t really consciously thinking abt it
tells u all the tea abt Dazai <- the source of all his problems 😭
always make perfectly planned out plans but somehow there’s always something in his way whether it be a former 15 y.o mafioso or anything tbh
feeds street animals together :p
Loves watching movies together and usually hangs out in one of u guys house -> Fyodor
He’ll prolly be on his computer while ur talking abt all the shit that happened like,
”and then, that bitch actually killed the guard!”
“Well that’s not good” he’d prolly say silently cackling and you’d be like
”I can see u laughing!” While (lightly) glaring at him
the adviser <3 usually his advice is nice and actually makes sense but sometimes ur reminded how much of a terrorist he is bc he goes on talking abt murder and hiring an assassin-💀
tries making u play board games w him like chess and if u don’t like chess he’ll prolly try to understand monopoly <33
finds dead languages to learn and is like “this seems fun. Why don’t we give it a go?”
Tumblr media
Also, Kuni-kun is sooo cute <33 + very believable I feel like some person in bsd already calls him that lmao😭

BSD 109 SPOILERS!!!
Theories regarding... certain events.
So in order to cope with the events of bsd 109, I have a working theory that Yosano could possibly save Dazai's life.
Firstly, I believe the last time we saw her was in Anne's room after everyone (but Dazai) reunited and before everyone split off. It's possible that at some point soon after this, Dazai was able to communicate with Ango and call for some aid. Granted, I'm not quite sure the exact timeline of events rn.
It may be plausible that between this time and the present, Yosano and maybe Kyouka(?) could have made their way to France and the Mersault prison and were able to break in after Dazai took out all the guards and the prisonbreak competition began. Maybe Dazai even got them in when he was still able to utilize the cat lady's ability.
Anyway, we know from the 55 Minutes ln that Yosano is able to use her ability on Dazai in VERY specific circumstances that involve him being basically dead enough that nullification won't activate but just barely alive enough that he's able to be saved. It may be possible for Yosano to come and save Dazai using her ability this way.
Additionally, and I've seen this brought up a lot on Twitter, but Chuuya's shot to Dazai's head seems to have... something wrong with it. For all intents and purposes, he should NOT have been able to speak. Credit to @starzais on Twitter for this observation.
I also saw a theory by @ VannyStarBSD on Twitter basically saying that it's possible Chuuya has some consciousness and thus covered up the shot to the head, bc there seems to be something wrong with it. Why didn't the bullet go thru to the wall? Why can Dazai still speak? Why was there some smoke or something covering the panel where he actually got shot? It all just seems too off. Maybe Chuuya utilized his gravity ability to somehow stop/limit the damage of the bullet? Here's a link to that thread because I won't be able to do it justice
I don't know how plausible either of these theories are. It'd be very difficult for Yosano to not only get to France from Japan but also get into the prison in the first place, especially without Fyodor taking notice. As for the Chuuya theory, it all banks on him having a certain amount of consciousness... which I'm not entirely convinced of, mostly because of the appearance of his eyes in this chapter. I think the most consciousness he would have regained was right before he "drowned."
Either way, I also don't think it makes narrative sense for Dazai to die right now. Asagiri rarely kills people when their stories are incomplete unless they're a side character. For him to go and kill off the most popular character before he's gotten a chance to find a reason to live doesn't make sense to me, especially in such a... weird way. A brainwashed Chuuya shooting him just doesn't seem like his way to go.
I've touched on this before, but Asagiri is a big fan of absurdism in his storytelling, the idea that the characters who succeed are those who fight even when things seem hopeless. For Dazai to lay down and die after trying so hard doesn't make narrative sense. Plus, we know that Asagiri loves scaring us with fake-out deaths, and Dazai's evaded death a number of times, so for these reasons outside the actual in-story ones, I'm not sure I'm quite convinced he's truly gone just yet.

the several instances of abilities surviving their original users and, in some cases, preserving their users' consciousness is fascinating to me. i haven't formatted my thoughts for tumblr use yet but i've done a lot of Thinking on ability mechanics as far as the skills themselves, but i never pay enough mind to the sentience some skills with physical manifestations possess.
the cases where skills preserve their users are the most interesting to me. we have shibusawa, of course
"...That was the day you died," whispered Fyodor to Shibusawa's skull as if he took pity on him. "And the one who inherited your collection..." He cast a glance at the spot where Tatsuhiko Shibusawa had been standing moments ago. "...your skill itself after it separated from your corpse." There must have been a red crystal somewhere on Shibusawa's body, for in the end, he was nothing more than a puppet who believed he was human. He was a real-life Coppélia.
I had to look up Coppélia because I'm not that familiar with ballets anymore, despite that having been one of my interests as a kid oops. Coppélia the character was an automaton doll who's creator attempted to steal the life-force of someone to bring the doll to life, which is a kind of interesting reference. Of course Fyodor's thoughts compare him to a ballet. There's Rimbaud at the end of Stormbringer, too.
"You don't need to feel guilty. I was already dead," Rimbaud weakly assured Verlaine. "What you see here is merely data. And yet it is still so extremely gratifying because I get to leave you with this."
i'm not saying anything further on that scene because i'll make this post far too long if i do.
can't forget about Gab in 55 minutes, either.
The island's skill rid itself of Verne's personality and robbed him of his flesh. That was when the living skill Gab was born. The consciousness of the skill Gab and the possessor Verne reversed.
There's the case of Demon Snow being passed from Kyoka's mother to Kyoka herself, living beyond its original master, though the ability itself isn't exactly the same form of consciousness, exactly. There's really sooooo much potential with the living abilities. (Clearly, experimental ability scientists thought so as well, if Verlaine and Chuuya are anything to go off of-) and I really hope this concept comes into the main series more instead of mostly side-stories. There's so much to see of it. And each case was completely different, too. Shibusawa didn't know he was his ability, Rimbaud did, and Gab was a completely different consciousness altogether. The manner in which one's ability sustains itself has so much impact over how it manifests. I want there to be more examples to study. Damn you Asagiri
