fundamentally i do think a big part of the reason spike is such a more interesting character than his many bargain bin imitators that have cropped up over the years is because the writers simply could not agree on who he was or what the fans should think of him. spike would not be nearly as good a character if it weren't for david fury's disdain for him or joss whedon's resentment of him or jane espenson's love for him etc. none of those individual writers could write spike but together with the other buffyverse writers they managed to create a very compelling, if admittedly sometimes confusingly written, character. many bargain bin spikes otoh are written by writing teams who all uncritically love them and want the fans to love them too and that is simply not how a proper spike should be written...it's just not!

The Noctis AU is deeply upsetting to me because you've got 15-16 year old noctis who's currently definitely still grieving the fact that everyone he knows is extremely dead and now also suddenly needs to raise two infants. Also one of them is his brother.

Yup, that's the early half of this AU in a nutshell! Deeply traumatized and newly rechristened Noctis just desperately doing his best so that these younger versions of himself and Yukio don't end up like they did. Full of determination, but still deeply lost and unsure of himself, not knowing if he's making the right choices or not.

...at least now he knows how his father felt, he thinks.

pros of staycations/mini trips: fun way to break up the routine, get to experience fancy hotels where we couldn't afford extended stays, generally exciting

cons: i cannot sleep whenever there's even a slight bit of light in the room and even if there is none i struggle for a couple of nights in a new environment so i don't get the chance to acclimatise and enjoy the holiday properly bc i'm inevitably a zombie on 1.5h of sleep after the first night

I'm gonna add something thats apparently controversial, but some of you have not been on a high quality date and it shows. It shows so hard if you think everyone wants to fuck and love you on a first date past any base attraction. People are not that hung up on you. Also very clear that many of you haven't taken anyone on a date without those romantic strings attached. It's actually pissed me off.

Like genuinely. Have you gone to a nice sit down restaurant, just chatted, and then later just brought them home? Or do you count sitting on the couch watching a movie as a good first date.
