i go back and forth a lot on my interpretations of ats s5, ie. what parts of spike are 'in character' or not, but the one thing that stays constant is my belief that spike and angel fucking would have fixed most of this.
like do you know what the top reason people say is why they don't vote? they don't like the candidates.
i read the statistic wrong or confused it with another inforgraphic i think but the actual percentage of people who think the system is corrupt is 8% not 9% my bad yall.
regardless, like that is 92% of CHRONIC non-voters who did not say that the system is corrupt as their main reason for not voting. to me, this kinda proves the point that the average non-voter is largely a moderate white person who doesn't have any interest in politics because they believe it doesn't affect them.
the most common answer was "i don't like them" lmao even more pathetic than "i dont care" imo because it's a bunch of people thinking that politics is some sort of morality test.
i double checked and i got the stats mixed up from that study, in my defense i was stoned as fuck and the study is long as fuckkkkkkkk. here is the other stat that is also kinda pathetic to me and where i got "i dont care" from. its from the 5% of voters who are not registered to vote as the main reason why they don't vote, i think if im not mistaken.
but regardless, only 8% of chronic non-voters say that the system is corrupt is the main reason for why they don't vote. this means that most non-voters don't give a fuck about the system being corrupt enough to name it over "i don't like the candidates." in fact, its very telling to me personally that they chose i don't like the candidates OVER the system is corrupt because to me, if like i believed the electoral college rigged elections like actually (someone literslly said the person in power is predetermined as the reason why they dont vote!!!) instead of just making them harder to win, then that is the reason why i don't like the candidates. i think they are part of a rigged system. to me, the fact that responses were different enough to put them in these two specific categories and i dont like the candidates is the most common reason by a lot and especially over the system is corrupt is extremely telling that the reason non-voters dont like either candidate is something other than the system being corrupt.
in fact, later on in the study, they talk about how non-voters are much more likely to leave voting to other people and they also care less about being part of major decisions in this country!!!!! i found that to be very interesting especially when we talk about the non-voter being moderate on average and because it kind of flies in the face of the excuses they make about how "my vote doesnt really matter bcuz of the electoral college" when like clearly, they have LESS of a desire to not be involved in major decisions in this country tbh but that's my personal interpretation.
but yeah, like people who don't vote and make it a habit do not vote because they are not interested in politics, don't care to learn, and view politics as a purity test of sorts instead of a chess game of who owns what human rights.
After having starred on Hawkeye, Vincent D'Onofrio has made the transition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe spinoff series Echo. According to D'Onofrio, the new show has plenty going for it, starting with the show's focal point: Alaqua Cox, who plays the show's title character.
I was a Aaron storyline watcher long before Robron and one one of my fav things that made their relationship feel special to me was that they were two year well developed characters. Aaron had this long standing arc and characters that made him a unique character that Danny did so well over years. But since he came back he honestly feels like a diff character it’s so weird
I genuinely wouldn't know bc the last episode of the show I watched was when Graham was murdered to death but my dash tells me that Danny's stuff hasn't been great for a while, which is mostly weird bc he's an objectively very good actor who mostly effortlessly rose to the material (or elevated it when the material was less than good). I guess maybe he didn't think he'd have to go back after he left the last time, total theorising but maybe he thought his career could've been something else (he's certainly talented enough that he should've broken out of the soap genre), so maybe he's phoning it in for the money or whatever. but the clips and gifs I've seen of his current work have been...... poor to put it nicely.
