Posting some of my character designs here on tumblr! I haven’t given my blog enough love….

First things first!! My lady, Marie-Lynn! I designed her and a few other characters as important NPCs for a Great God Grove inspired TTRPG game I���m running!!

Marie-Lynn is inspired by Day of the dead (specifically sugar skulls and candles), Baba Yaga, Marie Lywd, and Baphomet!

She’s the warden (Demi-god) of charity and family, and one hell of a chef! She hosts a special celebration every year that supports family members to visit her towns and cook a meal that everyone can try, a massive feast for not just their family, but for EVERYONE! A gathering of found family, community, and friends. There is of course practices of worshiping the dead as well, much like Ofrendas (I probably butchered that spelling I’m sorry!) and telling stories of past ancestors!

Marie herself IS UNDEAD! She was boiled alive for being a heratic in the old lands, a corrupt religious land that saw her charity as weakness. As she was boiled she asked not for everyone’s destruction, but for their forgiveness and hope that they will all learn and grow. After she died, she ascended and became what she is now! She used her new form and powers to flee to the new world, and made her community! she’s very loving and runs an orphanage, as well as fosters MANY children. most of them don’t get adopted because they simply just become her children! Her heart is big enough for all… just let her clear a space for you at the table!!

The community she watches over is very old fashioned, but uses magic as technology! Think a mix of “Over the garden wall” and “The owl house”. Oddity and magic is welcomed there!

alright listen. it is 3 in the morning and I have a cold but listen to me. I feel like one of the biggest reasons I'm so enthralled with Ramsey and Percy's dynamic is because it subverts the typical cop/con buddy duo-

Usually in buddy cop shows the dynamic play out as the smug or playful conman and the straight man cop

But what I'm really into is Ramsey is actually the "straight man" in their dynamic because Percy is so strange but completely able to roll with basically anything that happens, and she takes everything on the same serious level that she would normally

Which I think a lot of characters mistake as her taking everything at face value, but she doesn't do that either- Ramsey takes advantage of the situation by lying to her about his epithet and trying to play off how big of a criminal he is, and she does believe him, but you can see as the episodes move along she has her suspicions- but she's not accusatory. [Ep 6 "All's Well That Ends Well" 15:15]

She won't make any moves until she has solid evidence, which is a really good quality considering her line of work. She's smart, but she's not unfair. (Added to the fact that even once she recognized Ramsey, she made sure to negotiate something nice for him because of how much help he was. [Ep 7 "Winner Takes All" 23:20])

I've read a lot of fan stuff where people have completely misread her character and they make her so... robotic? And like, unemotional. Which she completely isn't.

She's very emotional. Although a lot of her more emotional scenes are read as comedic, she's not cold or robotic. Some of my favorite scenes from her are the crayon debauchery scene:

When the Well Watcher was promoted to Sky Watcher and she was very supportive :) [Ep 6 16:50]

And when Ramsey used his epithet for the first time in front of her [Ep 7 19:15]

I feel like the comedy of these bits are really through Ramsey's reactions as he kind of just... doesn't know how to handle the situation or his brain literally won't process it [Ep 6 7:40]

Yes, Percy for the most part is a joke character but the whole point is the joke plays off of her being the silly one and Ramsey being the straight man, not vice versa.

I'm really tired so I can't exactly remember how I was going to wrap this up but

TL;DR: I really like Ramsey & Percy's dynamic and I feel like a lot of misreadings of it are due to a lack of understanding Percy's character

Brakul Red-Dog was a decidedly handsome man, though soft featured and fishbelly pale in complexion. He was tall and thickly muscled, with a heavyset wrestler’s build that spoke to years of bodily conflict between hard labor and good eating. His hair was a striking orange-blonde, which he always kept shorn close to the scalp. His brows, beard and mustache were darker in color, bushy but well-trimmed and fastidiously maintained. He always spoke slowly and with great care, less for Wardi being his second language and more for the gap between his front teeth that would whistle, rather embarrassingly, were he not careful. He was born of the Hill Tribes, specifically a clan of farmers and cattle drivers on the north side of the Erubin river valley. If Brakul's hair and accent wasn't enough, his tattooing made these heathen origins abundantly clear. Trailing down beneath each deep brown eye was a vertical line bordered with four dots apiece. His upper arms were braced with alternating banded patterns of lines, dots, and square whorls. Most eye-catching was on the left of his broad chest, where a figure of a dog seemed to bound majestically over his nipple.  Brakul would often be seized by a nostalgic melancholy in drunkenness and set about explaining his markings to his Wardi compatriots, tracing over his skin and identifying each point in his slow, deep voice. His arms and face, apparently, contained exhaustive detail about his family tree; fathers and grandfathers and brothers and brothers-in-law and uncles and great-uncles and second cousins and so on. The nuances of how some circles and rectangles could do so always eluded Janeys.  The dog was fresher, the ink black where the rest faded blue-gray, and its meaning simpler. It was a bit of a bitter joke, a nod to his war name ‘Red-Dog’. Apparently, his people would tattoo the symbol of their clan's name over the heart upon final initiations into manhood. Brakul never got the chance, given he’d left his brothers, wife, and child for foreign causes and a foreign lad, and as such had been thoroughly disowned. The dog was the only name he had left. Janeys knew of people who oh-so-creatively derided Brakul as ‘Haidamane’s dog’ and chinmachen based on this. These were, of course, absolute fucking morons. Anyone with half a brain and the barest observational skill would know the man was completely and utterly ganmachen, ox-faced by both temperament and birthsign. Hardy in nature, placid and quiet under most circumstances, stubborn to a fault, and dangerous when pressed.  It was Janeys who was born under the dog stars, though this he kept secret, implying himself to be his dear Faiza’s twin when asked. The two of them looked much alike after all, and were born just over a year apart. It took only this small, harmless exaggeration to claim her far more auspicious birthsign as his own, which was well worth the risks of dishonesty. Janeys had enough problems - and more than enough scathing epithets - without the addition of ‘bitch-faced’ to his good name, thank you very much.

PQ leader of the BIZZIE GUILD!!

for my GGG inspired TTRPG game, I wanted to include the Bizzies, but in a new way. so I made a self insert “guide NPC” as a sort of “Scout troop” leader. They’re a very large and parental Bizzie who uses their epithet “Merit” to make special magic patches for the bizzies and the party, enchanting them and any items they place them on.

Merits are my in game description of upgrades and leveling up.

PQ, after escaping the old lands years ago with a small group of bizzies, decided it was time to make a NEW name for the bizzies as a whole. everyone saw them as useless or annoying, like vermin! So PQ made the guild as a hands on way for bizzies to learn more about the world and to become useful, or find their purpose in their own way, with healthy guidelines. There’s many outposts in the new world that are run by special volunteers, and watch over and teach up to 20 bizzies each, and give out badges for good jobs! the badges can be for literally anything. From helping old ladies cross the street, to just opening up a banana real nice. Any thing that helps show the bizzies that they’ve done good things!

PQ herself drives everyone around in DA BIZZIE BUS, and stays in the bus most of the time. does she have a tragic backstory that May or may not get touched upon in game? Maybe…. Will I post any sketches of it here? ABSOLUTELY.

I’ll just consider this a bizzie sona of somekind. LOL

I don't know if this has been answered in Canon but how do epithets work for homonyms??

Like minute and minute for example- the amount of time and extremely small.. does the epithet user get the powers of both?? Do they only get one?? If so, how is that decided???

More Zora headcanons be upon ye.

Zora is really superstitious. She’s picked up a lot of superstitions from drifting, and she has firm believes in destiny and fate. She also has a few beliefs that come just from her knowing Nothing about the world, and being all street smarts and NO book smarts.

Percy: get in the car Zora

Zora: I dunno, I’ve never met your car, and I don’t have any treats on me. Should I let them sniff me first? I don’t wanna spook em, that’d be bad.
