Another note I forgor to mention is I love how after hearing Simon go "it's enough to make your hair turn white" about Martin's office in s4 many of us collectively agreed his hair turned white because of his association with the Lonely. The shared consciousness is real and we use it to play hot potato with the communal brain cell dedicated to the sillies.

Stan was a victim of domestic violence.

His parents were never really the role model for what a healthy relationship should look like. His father was distant and the soft touches and expressions his mother gave him were never reciprocated. He doesn't remember his parents saying "I love you" to eachother. But that came with the price of also not knowing what a toxic relationship looks like. He also grew up with the "men can't get abused" mindset (come on people, he grew up in the fucking 60's-70's).

So it was only a matter of time before he met Jimmy Snakes. He was young and stupid, somewhere in his early 20's. He hadn't even met Rico yet, when he met Jimmy who offered him money to sleep with him one night, then a place in his biker gang, which quickly led in them getting together and Stan staying in Jimmy's house. Stan thought he somehow found someone who actually loved him. I mean, why would he want him staying in his house? He thought he had a loving, older boyfriend, who cared about him.

Well, he was wrong.

He didn't notice. Or, actually, no, he did notice. He just tried to ignore it. He tried to ignore the way Jimmy talked about him with the other people in the gang, sometimes calling him a "boy toy" in a way that made Stan's stomach twist weirdly. He tried to ignore how Jimmy's touch made him uncomfortable, tried to ignore the twitch his eye gave and clenched jaw when he bent over to take the bread out of the oven and Jimmy would smack his ass. Tried to ignore the blackmailing Jimmy would give him when he didn't want to have sex. "Oh you don't love me anymore? After everything I've done for you, you ungrateful whore?!" He tried to ignore how when this would happen, there would be times where Jimmy would get physical with him, slap his face and/or grab him by the collar and insult him in the face. How Jimmy would do worse things if he opened his mouth. He tried to ignore how Jimmy didn't want him to go outside without his supervision and joking about how he would run away.

He had become a housewife in the worst way possible. And he had nowhere to go.

And when he finally found the courage to escape and Jimmy chased him down to try and drag his soul down to Hell, he didn't ignore that. He was done with ignoring that shit. After that, he tried to suppress those memories, to forget them. But they were always there. The voice in the back of his mind making fun of him for not knowing what all of that stuff meant.

Years passed. He finally had all three journals. He opened journal 3 to find the stuff about the portal. He did, but he also found stuff about this triangle demon. Crossed out praises for said demon, warnings about him, all the things he did to Ford. Some of these fell a little too close to home.

Oh.

Something that’s fascinated me since the start of the series is how Jayce, the ultimate himbo dumbass, somehow managed to become the babygirl of the most attractive and badass woman in the city and the lapdog of the Dickensian-looking twink genius destined to be the new Jesus Christ. Like, he’s literally an idiot, but he’s in a poly relationship with the most attractive, smart and competent people in Piltover. Someone explain this to me.
