I don’t get akeshu / shuake at all.

Like I get it from a typical “fandom loves the enemies to lovers trope” perspective but in all honesty I don’t get the insane brainrot the persona 5 fandom has for this ship.

Like do I think Joker cares for Akechi? Yes.

Do I think he was genuinely conflicted/tempted by Maruki’s ultimatum? Yes.

Do I think they have a genuine relationship and see a lot of themselves in each other and actually somewhat understand each other? Yes.

That being said, I really don’t see how anyone can look past the fact that Akechi tried to kill Joker. And okie fine enemies to lovers, fandom’s favorite ship aside, I don’t see how Joker can actually want a full on relationship (like romantic) with this dude when Futaba, Sojiro, and Haru are like right there?

This may just be me but I reallllllllly wouldn’t be friends with someone who is friends (hell forget even in a romantic relationship) with someone who horribly hurt me.

And I don’t think Joker loves Akechi more than Futaba, Sojiro, or Haru. Especially Sojiro and Futaba. Those two are like his family, and Akechi is responsible for their suffering.

Like… it’s kind of one or the other. Joker can’t be friends/dating Akechi without horribly betraying Futaba, Sojiro, and Haru. That’s just how I see it (but I’m open to hearing other perspectives!)

The scene in Persona 5 where Makoto, Yusuke, Akira and Morgana try to have a conversation with Futaba in her room feels like a conversation with a group of people who have autism but in different ways lmao

Makoto has a structured way of holding a conversation and feels overwhelmed when the script doesn’t work.

Yusuke isn’t paying attention and starts fiddling with things.

Futaba doesn’t like the small talk and only starts really participating in the conversation once it’s about something she considers a special interest.

Akira is silent and doesn’t really add much to the conversation preferring to sit back and listen.

all the personas in the roleswap AU are ones which have an element of either tragedy or strife to them, whether it's in their lore or their personality!

I've listed them below in the format of "[first persona] + [seconds persona unlocked at max friendship] + [third persona unlocked in third sem under certain conditions]" and a "?" just means I have yet to confirm what the persona is. if the person isn't listed it just means I haven't chosen any of their personas yet 😭

Haru can obviously use any persona because she's the wild card/fool but she still has her 3 personas just like Joker does in canon. Akira and Goro also keep their third personas for story purposes.

I'm also not explaining why I chose any of them (though I have linked their SMT wiki page if they have one!) but if you do want to know, send me an ask! :D

it's so funny to me that the kaoruko in futaba's head is voicing futaba's insecurities and therefore being really strict with her, because if futaba talked to the real kaoruko being like "i'm not sure about staying in tokyo, i kind of want to come home, i miss you" kaoruko's initial response would be an incredible amount of joy and begging futaba to come home

(and then when she could see past her own happiness enough to see that futaba was disappointed with herself about it, and that it would mean futaba giving up on her own dreams, she would say some tsundere shit about how futaba actually isn't allowed to come home until she's stood on the new national stage and given a performance kaoruko is satisfied with, and would then demand a care package full of sweets for being such a good and understanding gf)
