■ eun seob| lonely star.
youtube
“I was the son of vagrant living in the mountain, and one day I was abandoned. I was raised by my adoptive parents. Although I didn’t really think that it was a weakness of mine there were some people who wished I would consider it painful. How come you are not unhappy? Aren’t you someone who used to live in a cabin the mountain? Your father was a hobo, wasn’t he? Should I be unhappy and sad, just as these people want? I thought about it for a long while, but no. My conclusion was that there are people I am grateful to, and I don’t particularly have any reasons to be unhappy. Anyhow, now this is all in past.”

THE WOLF'S SILVER EYEBROW
One day, he met a wolf on a mountain. Giving one of his eyelashes to the boy, the wolf said: "Sly monkeys, cunning foxes, mean pigs, and evil raccoons. The boy saw no real people in the world.
In the end, he decided to look for a place where real people lived.
Hae Won: "Did he find such a place?
Eun seob: No, he couldn't find one anywhere. He could not find any place where real people lived, so the boy eventually lived alone in loneliness and died.
Hae Won: I feel so sorry for him.
Eun seob: For who?
Hae Won: That boy with the wolf's silver eyelash. He must've been lonely. Terribly, and awfully lonely. How cold must that boy have been?
Eun seob: What can we do for that boy?
Hae Won: We should hug him. Hug him as hard as we can with all our might, so he could feel warm."

Update Kabar
Kebetulan gue berencana ambil dua role. Sebagai programmer dan sebagai storywriter.
Nah, setelah cukup lama mencari arah tentang skill menulis gue enaknya dikembangin kemana......akhirnya gue jatuh cinta banget sama Narrative Design di game.
Sekarang berasa nemu momen buat punya cita-cita lagi.
Sorry ya cerita gue ngalor ngidul banget. Gue nulis di tumblr lagi tuh beneran berasa kayak nemu temen lama wkwk. Pengen cerita buanyaak.
When The Weather is Fine.
Sementara temen gue tuh kiblatnya anime.
Setiap orang punya style masing-masing. Tapi gue happy banget ketemu orang yang bisa sefrekuensi pas diajak bahas cerita meskipun style kami jauh berbeda.

"He must've been named after a TV show character."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Ep. 9, Eun Seob sees Seok Ho Pil (석호필) and thinks he was named after a TV show character. What does he mean by that? The TV show Eun Seob refers to here is Prison Break, the protagonist of which is called Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller). The name "석호필" is the transliterated and Korean-stylized version of "Scofield." Because the series was very popular in Korea, "석호필" was and still is used as a nickname for the character.
However, the TV show character is not the first Scofield that had "석호필" as his Korean (nick)name. There was a Dr. Frank Scofield, who helped the Korean independence movement around 1920. He created the Korean name "석호필" for himself and used it while he was staying in the country.
Of course, neither "석호필" can be whom Seok Ho Pil was named after because 1) Prison Break is a TV show from the mid 2000s (in the Republic of Korea at least), and 2) the Kingdom of Corea was never conquered by Japan (i.e. there was no Korean independence movement). Maybe the TV show was aired much earlier in the Kingdom? (Unlikely.) Or there was another Scofield in the history of the Kingdom and Ho Pil's parents named their son after him? Or it might be a pure coincidence, as "석" and "호필" each is actually a normal family name and a normal given name in Korea.

Touch Your Heart / Reach of Sincerity (2019)
Tumblr media
I really liked this show. It was fun, quirky and cute with a few heavy moments to keep the show grounded. Not a headliner, but something you can put on and just hang out with for an hour or so and still enjoy.
What Worked
Yoo In-na carried the show. She was just a super cute ball of charm, and all the scenes with her and Lee Dong-wook (who not exactly grumpy, but definitely uptight) were great. This was the happy version of the same couple from Goblin, and I was there for it. The supporting cast was great as well, though only Oh Jung-se's performance was super memorable for me.
What Didn't Work
This show is not very realistic. Most of the time that works, but once in awhile a plot line or a scene will kind of fall flat. Also, I personally didn't like the Choi Yoon-hyuk / Dan Moon-hee pairing. The actors were fine on their own, but a bit too much together.
The Performances
Yoo In-na as Oh Jin-shim / Oh Yoon-seo, AKA "The Talent". Yoo In-na was so much fun to watch. She is just a really great comic actor who knows all about timing and has tons of charm.
Lee Dong-wook as Kwon Jung-rok, AKA "the Ace Attorney". It's funny how you can see him playing an angel of death in one series, and a straitlaced lawyer in another and they somehow end up being very similar characters. I still enjoyed watching him, especially when he was able to open up towards the end of the series, but the character felt very familiar to me after seeing Goblin.
Oh Jung-se as Yeon Joon-kyu, AKA "Fanboy CEO". I liked Oh Jung-se in this. His character was talking, extremely petty, and very funny. May favorite role for him since maybe IOK2NBOK.
Lee Sang-woo as Kim Se-won, AKA "The Bestie". He was billed as the second lead, but this felt more like a supporting role. I enjoyed him when he was there, especially his banter with Lee Dong-wook's character and the whole arc for him, but I didn't miss him when he was off screen.
Son Seong-yoon as Yoo Yeo-reum, AKA "Bestie's Ex". I liked this character, but the show didn't do much with the character arc, overall. Nice, but not memorable.
Jang So-yeon as Yang Eun-ji, AKA "Office Mom". I enjoyed seeing this actor again after her much bigger role in Something in the Rain. I don't like the arc they gave her, but it didn't really detract from the show, just kind of went nowhere.
Park Ji-hwan as Lee Doo-seob, AKA "Secret Poet". I liked seeing this actor, after watching him in Our Blues. I really related to this character, but they didn't really do much with him (other than a small love arc). Another case where they had a really good actor in a quiet role.
Oh Eui-shik as Kong Hyuk-joon, AKA "the Manager". It was fun seeing this guy play off of the other characters, but he was mostly there for comic relief and sometimes moving the plot forward. Not super memorable.
Everyone Else. The rest of the office staff was good, but not memorable. The guy that played the stalker / chaebol crook (Jay Kim) did a good job, but I was kind of glad when they moved past that plot line. I didn't like the "Black Widow" murder plot, but the actors did okay with what they were given.
TL; DR:
A charming romp with two amazing leads, and a good cast of supporting actors that didn't get much attention. But the fireworks from the leads were more than enough to carry the show.

I just finished this drama with sad winter village vibes. But the last 3 episodes were bad and so boring. More boring than Eun Seob's life.

Sweet Home [Season 1] └ Characters
Tumblr media
I'll have to come back to them once I get a better hang of what they're all like...

5 episodes later and I've seen more of the characters. There are so many of them and I appreciate that they took that to show different people with not only different traits but also different issues they are dealing with.
The adopted kids, the woman taking care of them after her own daughter died, the woman/monster that helped regardless of her trauma and turning, the man taking drastic measures to get justice on what happened to his daughter the little girl, the one that has to take the detached and pragmatic measures to keep as many safe, the audacious woman who's so noble that can be baffled when others are not, the deeply principled man guided by his beliefs to be his utmost highest. Makes me so glad there's even an alternative girl in there! I could go on and I will as I continue watching...
(And hopefully even more show up!)

Lee Eun-yoo & Cha Hyun-soo. Eeep! They're being cute. I can't say more because I still don't know what is coming. But I hope they both live long and stick together!

Jung Jae-heon. Noo! Why in fiction the religious character is always gone too soon?! They need Jesus or at least a good example to not so easily descend into the corruption of the soul. Definitely one of my top favorite/most important characters here.

Ahn Gil-seob. Another important character! What would they be without him popping in every once in a while with words of wisdom and mad storytelling skills?!

Ahn Sun-young. She deserved a better fate! Narcissistic asshole only apologizing when it's pointless and just produces guilt and such. But at least she got to take out some of her anger. I'm thankful for this type of characters being present to raise awareness on domestic violence and other sorts of mistreatment.

Han Du-sik. Dorky and ingenious hero. Nice that the group and Cha Hyun-soo, in particular, could count on him. May he continue to accompany them in spirit!

Park Yoo-ri. I miss her already! It's gentle souls like hers that keep the world from being unbearably rough and cruel. May her spirit rest...
