Summary: You and Buck get into an argument, but everything stops when you flinch.
Warning: Mentions of an abusive dad, arguing
----------------------------------------------------------
"You can't keep doing this shit to me!" You yell back at him. You and Buck were having the same argument you always had; while at work he did something reckless and you had to witness it. He didn't understand the fear that overtook your body everytime he went radio silent. Or did something reckless.
"It's my life! You hear me?" He screams back. He didn't understand why you had to act like this. Sure, he did reckless things, but he always made it out alive.
"Do you know what it's like to be the one waiting on the ground? The one time I ran back into a building when everyone had an evacuation order, how did you feel?" You ask and Buck remembers the nauseating anxiety he had had as he waited for you outside the building.
"This is different," he said before clenching his teeth. It wasn't really different but Buck still told himself it was.
"Look,-" Buck raised his hand to run it through his hair but stopped as you flinched. He saw the brief, but very much real, fear that was in your eyes before you tried to just shrug it off. He saw the way your skin was twice as pale as usual.
"Baby?" He said carefully, all anger from the past argument had left him. He saw the way your eyes were glossy and distant. Like you were reliving a past experience.
He slowly walked over to you. As he approached you snapped out of your hell scape daydream. You wrapped your arms around him as sobs wracked your body.
He held your shaky body tightly as your breathing slowly evened out. You had survived. You were safe now.
"I'm not afraid of your Buck," you say as you explain everything to him. How your dad had been more monster than man. Why Buck had never met your parents. And why you had fled halfway across the country at sixteen.
"I'm sorry," Buck whispered as he held you. You hadn't even noticed you two had made it to his couch.
"You have nothing to apologize for, I'm the one who started the argument," you said back.
"I'll be more careful, I swear," he says and you give him a soft smile.

— stubbornness.
Tumblr media
summary: You just got home from the hospital, and are still learning how to walk properly again. You knew at the moment that you woke up from the surgery that Buck wouldn’t leave you alone. And you were right. He only went back to work when he couldn’t take any more days off, even though you insisted that he shouldn’t worry about you. The thing is, you are very stubborn, and it became even more obvious when you couldn’t do things on your own, but still wanted to.
keywords: fluff, recovery, stubbornness, worried Evan Buckley, f!reader.
characters: Evan Buckley, Maddie Buckley.
warnings: allergic reaction, swearing, author’s medical knowledge is very very bad.
a/n: I got this idea after watching an episode of 911: Lone Star (no spoilers here, though), also searching epi-pen and paramedics aesthetic wasn't on my bingo card this year lol.

Once more, you opened your eyes and felt a sharp pain when trying to move. You always forgot about your legs.
“Oh, fuck.” You murmured, trying to be as quiet as possible. You didn’t want to alarm Buck even more on his first day back to work. “Buck?” You called, hearing noises of things being stumbled on and quick steps on the stairs soon after.
“Honey, hi!” He said, almost falling on the ground when rushing to the bedroom. “Here, let me help you.” Buck grabbed your waist and carefully got you out of bed. “Are you sure that’s ok for me to go back to work?”
“I promise, babe, it’s fine. I can take care of myself while you work.” You said, caressing his hair and cupping his face with your free hand. His blue eyes finding yours. You could tell that he was worried, but you knew how much he wanted to go back to work.
“You can call me anytime, ok? If I don’t pick up, someone will.” He hugged you and kissed your cheek, making you laugh.
“You’re going to be late, Buck.” You said as he trailed kisses down your neck.
“I love you, ok? See you tomorrow.” He said, kissing your lips and leaving the bedroom.
“Love you too!” You said, catching a glimpse of his smile as he went down the stairs. You waited until you heard the front door closing to start getting ready.
People always talked about how Buck was a workaholic, but they didn’t notice how you were just as bad as him. In the last weeks, you didn’t have the chance to leave the house and go to work, since Buck wouldn’t leave your side. But now, with your boyfriend going on a 24 hour shift, you had plenty of time.
You got ready as fast as you could and left the house, driving to the Los Angeles Service Center.
As soon as you arrived, you received a message from Buck asking if everything was ok. You smiled at your phone and answered, saying that there’s no need to worry.
You got to your floor, using a walking stick to get to your desk, which was right beside Maddie’s, so you knew she would see you there soon. But you were prepared to argue why she shouldn’t tell Buck you were there.
As soon as you sat down, you heard a familiar voice calling you by your full name, which would have startled you if you weren’t expecting it
“Maddie! You look so pretty today, you know that?” You said, smiling at her.
“You are unbelievable. Does Buck know you’re here?” She asked, crossing her arms.
“... No, and you’re not going to tell him.” Maddie opened her mouth to answer, but you were faster. “And you own me one, remember? I didn’t tell Chimney that you came in sick when he had specifically told you not to.”
“Well, it’s different. You are recovering from a surgery, when I was just a little constipated.” She said, putting her hands on her hips.
“You still said that you owned me one, so I’m claiming that favor now.”
Maddie looked at you up and down, trying to decide if you were being serious or not. Usually, you would hold onto a favor for dear life until you wanted something nearly impossible. Getting back to work was something that would happen eventually, so all you had to do was wait.
But you couldn’t wait anymore. At home, everytime you heard your phone ringing you got excited because it reminded you of work. It was pathetic. Before becoming a dispatcher, you always judged Buck for being so obsessed with being a firefighter. Being a nurse was good, and you loved helping people, but you got too overwhelmed at the end of the shifts with all those people around you.
“Look, I will be careful. It’s not like I will be moving much, right?” You could see Maddie holding her laugh.
“You do have a point.” She said as she sat right beside you, preparing for the first call of the shift.
Time passed, and you tried very hard to not talk on the radio when the 118 was attending the calls. Sometimes you heard Buck speaking and smiled, trying not to talk to him as you always did. You got used to having conversations while he did things that didn’t really require his full attention, and he loved doing that too. It was something that helped him a lot when he needed to relax.
As the day went by, you got more relaxed. You and Maddie shared lunch, and she helped you change your bandages.
“Everything looks great, honey.” She said as she finished, making sure that the medical tape was well put on your back. “Buck is doing a great job taking care of you.” You smiled at the comment.
“You know, the moment I woke up from the surgery, I knew that he wouldn’t leave me alone.”
“He was so scared, honey. He wouldn’t leave your side.” She said as she started to walk back to her desk with you.
“He is a sweetheart, Maddie.” You said, sitting on your chair. “Even though I missed working, he made sure to make those weeks enjoyab-” Before you could finish your sentence, you heard a loud bang, followed by screams. You looked around and found one of the new dispatchers unconscious on the floor.
You and Maddie went as quick as possible — considering you were using a walking stick — to the girl, who looked like was having an allergic reaction. You asked someone to bring the medical kit, hoping to find an epi-pen.
“Nothing here.” Maddie said, looking at you, worried.
“Look at her bag! She might have brought it with her.”
You soon started to hear sirens, but you didn't think anything about it. Your focus was on the girl.
“She's here!” You heard Sue say, hearing footsteps coming in your direction.
“We think it's an allergic reaction, but we don't have any epi-pen.” Maddie said, making space for the paramedics.
“You are right. Chimney, give her some epi.” Hen said, measuring her heart rate.
You got up, standing right beside Maddie and putting your hand on her shoulder for support. You both were worried about the girl. It took you a minute until you realized that Buck was in the same room as you.
You waited until the girl woke up, which didn't take long. Hen and Chimney explained to her what happened, and she agreed to go to the hospital to get checked. This was the perfect moment to try to hide from your boyfriend, but you weren't fast enough.
“Y/N?!” You heard your boyfriend say, just as you were trying to get away.
“Hi, Buck.” You said, turning to his direction. “How's your day going?”
“What the hell are you doing here? You should be at home!” He said, looking worriedly at you, holding your hands.
“I was just getting some things with Maddie!” You lied, looking at your friend, who agreed with her head.
“Why are you in uniform, then?” He asked, crossing his arms, staring at you. You could see Chimney and Eddie looking at Hen, who had a smug smile on her face.
“Pay up.” She said, looking as both of the firefighters picked up their wallets.
“Buck, I’m fine! I swear. And there’s lots of well trained people here to take care of me if something goes wrong. Maddie even helped me change my bandages!” You said, and your boyfriend looked at his sister, who gave him an awkward smile.
Buck looked at you hesitantly before tilting his head and biting the inside of his cheek.
“I guess I can’t make you go home, huh?” He said, smiling slightly and caressing your cheek with his thumb. “Look, please be careful, ok? Promise me that you will take any pain seriously. I don't want you getting any worse.” He smiled at you, kissing your lips.
“I promise, Buck.”
“And now that I know you're here, I want to hear your voice through the radio, ok?” You smiled, confirming with your head.
“I miss doing that.”
“Me too.”
“Ok, lovebirds, let's go. And I'm talking to you too, Chimney.” Hen said, startling Maddie and the firefighter.
“I gotta go, bae. I'll see you home.” Buck said, quickly kissing you before running through the door with the 118. “Love you!”
“Love you too!”
And just like that you spend the rest of your shift talking with your boyfriend through the radio.
Sometimes being stubborn pays off.

hi! sorry to bother you! could you make a fic about evan buckley inspired by “i can see you” by taylor swift ? thank you anyway and hope you’re having a great day!
i can see you - e.b
Tumblr media
summary: request
evan buckley x reader

a/n: you’re absolutely no bother lovely, i apologize that this is so late, but thank you so much for leaving a request nonetheless <3 i hope you enjoy this, this is my inspiration of the song as well!! also let me apologize in the meantime that this is not proofread :)
each time his hand simply brushed up against hers, a whole new level of delusion entered y/n’s mind. it doesn’t matter if they were grabbing the same cup for coffee, or if they were retrieving something from the engine on a call. his rough, but warm fingers lightly feathering her knuckles, but even the slightest touch was ecstasy.
she tries to keep her composure, her job needing her focused at all times, but he made is so damn hard. every time his bright blue beads crossed paths with her own, it formed sparkles of attraction in y/n’s mind.
y/n’s never been one to be distracted, but buck completely started to own her mind. it was like he put her in his own prison, something she couldn’t escape from.
buck could always sense her eyes burning into him, and he silently loved it. he could feel the flames in her eyes and the admiration she had for him. he would be lying if he doesn’t stare back when she doesn’t notice. bucks always been one for a little game, anyway.
the way she parts her hair for work, and how she walks around the station and saunters around the bar with a drink in her hand. her gentle hands could cure anyone, and buck simply just wanted them on him.
they both can feel the aggressive spark that’s threatening to burst between them, but they’re too scared to do anything about it.
buck could always tell on her face when she got flustered by his presence.
he loves it.
if he had to sneak behind her, he’d place a hand on her lower back and brush his chest over her back, the fabric uniforms rubbing together. he can almost feel the halt in her breath as he passes by.
if she was across the table while they were eating, he’d lean back in his chair, giving her the slyest smirk and running his finger over his forearm tattoo. he wishes he could feel the rush of emotions she got from glancing at him.
he payed attention to the little details, the small things that made her heart race. the rolling up the sleeves, fidgeting with his fingers, whispering small things to her that no one else heard.
he did it until she couldn’t take it anymore, until the night where she would finally pounce on him and claim him as hers, compared to the jail she’s in.
the shift had just ended, and it was long. it wasn’t necessarily all the calls they went on, but it was the looks y/n was getting from buck the whole day. it’s so difficult to be a professional when a man like buck is so close to controlling her every move. nonetheless, she still opted to go to the bar with her team. she stopped by her apartment to change first, then driving back over and entering the bar.
she was wearing a new pair of jeans, one that complimented her figure perfectly and a white tank top, along with an LAFD jacket hanging off her shoulder. buck had a white button up on, with a regular pair of pants that still looked hot as ever to y/n. it was like a breath of fresh air, to see him in different clothes.
she moved up to one of the stool, choosing the one next to buck. she ordered a cocktail first, watching buck sip at his glass.
“you must come here a lot,” buck starts.
“you stalking me, buck?” she jokes, accepting the drink from the bartender. he chuckles quickly, looking y/n up and down her body, taking in every beautiful part of her.
they exchanged quick talk for a lot of the night, ordering each others drinks and almost forgetting that their other friends were there. y/n could hardly focus on anything but bucks bright smile, and the way his tongue swiped along the back of his teeth when she teased him. it made her want to scream.
it made her want to pull her hair out in the best way when his fingers ran through his hair, and he watched her internally fall apart. all because of him.
soon enough, the drunkenness had taken over their minds a bit, and buck noticed the lust in her eyes as she leaned into her hand to gaze at him.
“like what you see?” he asks, not peeling his eyes away from hers.
“why are we still playing this game?” y/n wonders, giving buck a quick moment of confusion before completely understanding. he wants to hear it though, and he’s determined to hear it.
“and what game is that?”
“buck, come on,” she sighs. “don’t be an idiot now.”
“i’m not an idiot, sweetheart,” he smirks. “i just want to hear you admit that you want me.”
she laughs quickly, turning her head away from him and then groaning into the air. “i can’t possible boost your ego any more.”
“tell me, y/n,” he scoots himself closer, one of her thighs in between his as he inches himself toward her. before he can think to move again, she grabs his bicep, pulling him toward the back of the bar.
once they’re in the single bathroom, she clicks the lock behind her and shoves him against the door. when he turns back to look in her eyes, her heels are off the ground and her hands are on the side of his face.
her soft, sweet-tasting lips touch bucks for the first time, taking in the taste of her lip gloss and the smell of the liquor on her tongue. he moves his own hands down to her sides, pressing his fingers into her skin. she groans a bit into his touch, but she only craves for more connection from him.
she only pulls away for a quick breath, only to rush back for more and feel his arms wrapped around her again. the light chattering of the people in the bar became inaudible, the only two people in the world at that moment were buck and y/n. despite their tipsy selves, the kiss between them blurred anything in their mind. they both only wanted more, never wanting to leave a moment like this behind.
“does that tell you what you want to hear so bad?”

reader is a famous singer, and also buck's celebrity crush.
Tumblr media
You adjusted your outfit as the backstage crew bustled about, looking in the vanity mirror. You took a deep breath, trying to block out the frantic orders thrown around in the background, as well as worried words being exchanged between coworkers about how the staging had been very "last minute".
Whenever this happened - staging arrangements being rushed - it made you nervous, so you were determined not to focus on it.
You checked the clock on the wall; the audience had probably finished filing into the stadium by now. You listened closely past the talking of the backstage crew, managing to make out the excited chatter of your fans. This gave you a bit more confidence. Your fans believed in you, and you loved them, so you weren't going to let a little performance anxiety get in the way of giving them an amazing show.
Your assistant tapped you on the shoulder. "Miss Y/n, it's time for your entrance," she said, handing you a microphone.
"Thank you. Do I look okay?" you asked.
"Stunning as usual!" she assured. "Now go out there and break a leg!"
You slipped through the curtain and stepped onstage. The second the crowd took note of your arrival, they erupted into screams and cheers. Immediately, a huge grin appeared on your face. You waved with both hands, and blew a few kisses as you made your way to centre stage.
"Thank you!" you said into your mic. "Thank you all of you for being here. I love and appreciate all of you."
The audience screamed in response.
"Before we begin this performance, one last reminder to stay safe out there in the crowd!" you said. "Alright, let's get started!"
The lights dimmed, the music began, and the crowd erupted into cheers once again. However, not long after you sang your first note, you had the chilling sensation that something was wrong.
You looked up just in time to see one of the light fixtures fall. You jumped out of the way just in time, the spotlight missing you by inches. You landed flat on your back on the floor the same time the spotlight did, both of you going down with a huge thump. You vaguely noted that the wires on the spotlight had ripped, and one of them was tangled around your ankle. It appeared to also be caught in the heel of your boot.
Suddenly, you saw a spark, and before you could even blink, the spark evolved into a full-blown fire. You screamed, attempting to scramble away. However, as soon as you got up, you fell again, and a shooting pain went up your leg. Fuck, you'd forgotten about the wire.
"Somebody call 911!" you yelled.
⌦ -- -- Buck's pov
"Tell us more about this fire, cap?" Buck prompted from where he sat in the backseat of the engine.
"Electrical fire at Lavender Plaza. There was a concert happening-"
"Wait, Lavender Plaza?" Buck exclaimed. "That's where Y/n L/n is performing!" His mouth was open in awe, and he turned to look at his crewmates. "Oh my god, you guys have no idea how much I wanted to go see that concert. I'm actually in love with her," he gushed. "Holy shit, is she okay, though?"
"Yes, the victim's name is Y/n L/n. Apparently, one of the spotlight fixtures fell onstage. It's an electrical fire - not too big, but still enough to be dangerous, especially since Y/n is unable to escape due to a wire around her ankle," Bobby continued.
"Guys, we have to go save her," Buck yelled.
"That's what we're doing right now," Eddie, Hen, and Chimney said in unison.
Buck's eyes grew impossibly wider. "Holy shit, I'm about to meet my celebrity crush!" he exclaimed.
⌦ -- -- y/n's pov
You nearly cried of relief when you heard the sirens approaching. The fire had engulfed most of the stage area opposite you, but luckily, you were in the safe zone for now.
The firefighters jumped into action, literally. You coughed at the CO2 from the fire extinguishers. As soon as the fire was put out, you saw a firefighter leap over the spotlight, landing next to you. You vaguely heard someone reprimand him - "Buck! Be careful!".
The firefighter - Buck, apparently - only gave a thumbs up in response.
"Okay, Y/n," he said, light blue eyes looking down at you in concern. "Don't you worry, I'm gonna get you free."
You nodded. "How do you know my name?"
"Buck over here is a big fan," you heard a voice to your left say. A woman with glasses set down a first aid kit next to you. "I'm Hen. Does it hurt anywhere, honey?"
"Um, I think I broke my leg or something, cause it really hurts."
Hen nodded in acknowledgement.
"Alright," Buck piped up. "It looks like the wire is just caught on your boot, so if we unbuckle this thing, you'll be free."
"Oh my god," you said. "Thank you."
"Hey, you're pretty much Cinderella, now," Buck joked as he finished unbuckling your boot. He held it up. "You know, with the lost shoe and all that."
"Does that make you my prince charming, then?" you teased.
Buck blushed, stammering. Before he coukd get out a response, Hen and another paramedic lifted you onto a gurney, wheeling you away.
⌦ -- --
You were breathing steadily into the oxygen mask, just as Hen had instructed you. Then, you spotted Buck making his way towards where you were currently sitting on your stretcher. He was still clutching your boot.
"Hey," you said. "Thanks again for saving me."
"Hi," Buck breathed. "Is this real?"
"Unfortunately for me, yes," you grumbled, casting a forlorn look at your broken leg. You remembered how your assistant had told you to 'break a leg' earlier. The irony.
"Right, no, of course, I didn't mean it like that! Oh god, I'm so sorry!" he rambled.
"It's okay," you laughed. "You just saved my life, I'm probably gonna love you forever, now."
Buck blushed a deep crimson. "Can I have your autograph?" he asked. "This probably isn't an appropriate time, but I mean, your hands aren't broken or anything, so I figured it'd be fine? If you're fine? If you're fine with it, not if you're fine in general, cause you know, you just broke your leg and everything." he snapped his mouth shut. "I'm gonna stop talking now."
You laughed. Looking at him fondly, you took in his features. His very good looking features, you noted.
"I'd love to give you an autograph," you told him. "I'd even give you a picture, but I'm a mess right now."
"I think you still look great," Buck blurted.
"Thank you," you giggled.
"Hey, if you stop by the hospital later, I'll get you my autograph and a picture. And maybe even dinner, if my prince charming's up for it." You winked.
Hen and another paramedic came to wheel you away. The last glimpse you got of Buck was him still staring ahead, a slightly dazed look in his eye and a smile on his lips.
Yeah, he looked like a prince charming to you.

a/n: okay before you start thinking that reader getting caught in the wire is inaccurate, id like to say that ive been trapped under those big wire rope things before when i was younger, and that shit is HEAVY like no joke

there was something about September’s that never sat right with Amaryllis, “Lissy.” It always brought nothing but gloom along with dread to her entire being and perhaps it had to do with her upbringing (was it the fact that her father was also born in September?) that set the chemicals off in her brain; even if she didn’t intentionally think about it. It always happened around this time but Lissy knew what it was physically but learned to push it away especially when the disappearance of Maddie came to surface.
And when she returned to Buck’s place spotting the purple bruise that took up a good portion of his eye, she also stuffed this dull feeling further away although it almost always still lingered no matter how much she shooed it away. When she witnessed the harm done to Buck, her instinct was to immediately go after the person who gave that to Buck. Her gut feeling was telling her that this didn’t come from work, of course it could have (being a old fire fighter herself) if things went left on the job but Lissy’s seen enough wounds in her life to know this was blunt force inflicted by someone else.
Her fiancé couldn’t lie for anything, trying his best to dodge her brown eyes and move around the house but once someone brought anguish to her man, a fire bubbled in her chest. She was always ready to protect despite knowing Buck’s impulsive behavior, she was already pointing the finger at someone else. Until she learned it came from Chimney, which made her stand frozen at the top of the steps that led to Buck’s bedroom.
“I’m sorry, who?” Lissy had her eyes in slits, making sure what she heard was right.
Buck peered down at his folded hands as he took a seat on the edge of the bed, “It was Chimney, okay? He found out that I knew more than he did about Maddie and he didn’t take it so well.”
“…I understand being frustrated but taking it out on you is not okay.”
Buck held his head down as he whispered, “Maybe I should have been more vocal about what Maddie was going through…then maybe just maybe my sister would be here right now.”
Lissy bit down on her bottom lip harshly. She also knew about Maddie’s mishap with Jee-Yun when Buck told her one night—just venting and she didn’t say anything to Chimney either, her concern was also just trying to talk to Maddie and check in with her but unfortunately that was not enough. If Chimney knew this would he have taken his anger out on Lissy too? Regardless Lissy was the type of person to always have her guard up with a smile yet she was also good friends with Chimney, he was a great friend but she wouldn’t lie and say she also wasn’t pissed with him right now.
She was just itching to call him up or pull up on him to give him a piece of her mind too. Lissy knew what mountains of pain can do to you and sometimes you don’t react the way that you should, which is why she tried her best to swallow her anger so that she could comfort the man she gets to call her husband some day.
“We don’t know that,” Lissy starts as she steps to Buck to grip his warm face, “because Maddie is going through a dark space and she wants to figure it out on her own, without us, when she doesn’t have to but felt like that was her best option for her and Jee. Sure we absolutely could have mentioned it to Chimney but Maddie is always going to seek help the best way she knows how. That’s just how she is, we know that and it’s not any of our faults or her’s. Life is hard sometimes…even harder when your head is against you opposed to your heart…and I’ll forever stand by the fact that you did not deserve what Howard did. You hear me?”
Buck wouldn’t meet Lissy’s ink colored eyes but she fought to catch his and when his fresh spring rain colored ones met her’s, he held her stare. Her eyes swam with so much determination and care, although he didn’t necessarily believe or agree with what the woman with the simmering auburn hair was saying to him in this moment, he felt how sincere her words were.
She was always going to be by his side, much like his big sister was, even if it was at a distance for a split time.
Maddie’s time.
“I love you Liss,” Buck croaked out, his hands sliding over her hips to lock around the small of her back before pressing his cheek into her stomach.
Her hands cradled the back of his shoulders and the other pressed to the back of his head. She leans down to place a kiss to the top of his deep brown hair, “And I love you back.”
A trip to the east coast was a drastic change in weather and scenery. Buck was originally from the east coast so this felt familiar while Lissy’s roots were in South Carolina. She came up with the idea to go on this trip to just get away from everything, even if it was only for a weekend. Buck was reluctant to go on his trip since he felt like maybe he should be out there with Chimney and his niece searching for Maddie, if he picked up his damn phone that is! Chimney did however when Lissy called him the next night while Buck was in the shower. Although in Buck’s perspective, he just wanted to know where Maddie is and if she was safe. If she left without him or Chimney, then there was a reason for that. That was something he understood although Chimney did not.
“Hello, Amaryllis.” Chimney greeted dryly as he decided to answer that night.
No one’s ever simply called Lissy by her government really—unless you were her wicked deceased father, everyone had nicknames in the 118 family but they both knew this conversation would be serious. Chimney kept the phone ringing for what seemed like forever and Lissy was also prepared to leave a voicemail if needed.
Lissy scoffed, “huh. Howard. so glad you know how to pick up a phone. I have something very simple to tell you so I’ll keep this brief. Don’t you ever put your hands on Buck like that again, or we’re definitely going to have some problems and I don’t want to have a problem with you brother-in-law.”
“Oh, Is that so?”
“That’s what I said, yeah.”
“Imagine if Maddie did what Buck did, how exactly would you feel?”
“I wouldn’t put my hands on another abused woman that’s for damn sure.”
Chimney’s quiet then, “no you probably wouldn’t…but I’m not ready to forgive Buck so tell him to stop trying to reach out and you can also cut the shit with your threats.”
Chimney knows Lissy’s backstory and how much that screwed her brain up, considering they had to pull her in on a case that had to do with cults once in the outskirts of the city.
She had to get into the mind of a cult-leader much like her own father was. That was what really pushed her to seek out help again (the years of dealing with child psychologists would forever be embedded into her brain) and it really wasn’t that long ago that Lissy stopped. After all, maybe she understood Maddie more than she was letting on, although it was different with Maddie being a mother and Lissy handling childhood trauma, she was still the most empathic; which commonly threw others for a loop majority of the time. However Chimney’s anger was blinding everything and he couldn’t be reasonable right now.
Lissy states, “As long as I make myself clear.”
“Well let me make this clear to you, Maddie is the mother of my child, I love her and she deserves to be here with us. She deserves to know that she’s not a terrible person or mother although I’m ticked with her too but Jee-Yun deserves a mother in her life! I can’t just sit on my ass like Buck and let her figure this all out on her own. what kind of man would I be if I wasn’t by her side?”
Lissy talks with experience,“I get that Chimney and we love her too, never stopped. Maddie practically raised Buck so why would you think for one second that he would ever stop loving her? because he chose a different route than you would? He’s her brother. I get that you want to be there but not everyone heals the best or copes well when their loved ones are hovering, especially if they’re afraid to hurt them again.”
“Maddie never hurt anyone! Don’t you get it?!”
More than he would ever know.
“She doesn’t see it that way.”
Chimney snaps, “You seem to have the answers for everything don’t you Amaryllis? do you know where Maddie’s run off to huh? Are you also keeping secrets like your shit stain of a fiancé?”
“I’m telling you to watch how you talk about him,” Lissy deeply exhales her warning as her fingernails dig into the palm of her hand, while she stands at the island counter before carrying on with her phone pressed to her ear, “Buck is still your chosen family and you love him too despite the anger you’re throwing around. I hope you get through that at some point, Howard. Best of luck to you, give Jee my love.”
Her calm demeanor irritated Chimney so he finalizes, “I won’t, so save it.”
And with that the line goes dead.
When she’s off the phone, she’s pinching at the space in between her brows and jumps a bit as she feels hands circle around her waist. She smells Buck’s body wash of Cedarwood, Vetiver, tangerine, and Oud before he presses his chin into her shoulder.
“Everything okay?” he quietly asks, his voice almost soothing that feeling that wants to seep upwards to her brain again.
A small smile stretches onto her full lips as she rests a hand right on top of Buck’s locked ones that are wrapped around her waist, “it will be, baby. What do you think about heading out to Hampton Beach this weekend?”
“Like? New Hampshire?” Buck questions, a slight furrow appearing against his brows, “Not that I wouldn’t love a baecay with you but is now really the best time for that?”
Lissy snorts at the nickname for vacation which lets her know he’s been watching some vlogs again and says, “everyone needs a get away once in awhile. We can discuss it more over dinner…so what are we feeling tonight? Anything except Thai, my stomach needs a break, Ev.”
He raises his hands in surrender as Lissy turns to face him. His eyes scan over her face, noticing the bags on her pretty freckled face that slowly became more prominent. She still looked stunning to him in any state and when she sent him a sweet smile that usually seemed to reach her eyes, he couldn’t tell her no.
“How about Venezuelan?” It was one of her favorites and Buck knew how to compromise in this loving relationship, “and that trip? I’ll really think about it.”
He couldn’t promise but since his mind was always running, he knew he would anyway.
With some persuasion from mainly Bobby and everyone else, that’s how Buck and Lissy were on a flight to “The Switzerland of America!”
Lissy’s not sure how long she’s been awake in the bed post, laying beside Buck, head resting on her tucked hands as she stares out towards the curtain covered window. The hotel was surely giving bed and breakfast with its colonial style and old like furniture but felt charming nonetheless. That’s until the creaking sounded with each movement, more so than at night that had her questioning if there were ghosts watching them sleep which happened to be much louder than Buck’s snoring apparently.
The auburn haired woman completely forgot to put a nose strip on him when they got here while he shuffled around in the bed like he commonly did but after the afternoon flight, they rushed up to their room, shared a shower and went downstairs to the tavern in the late afternoon a little before it closed at five for: one glass of Riesling and a bottle of Heineken for Buck, a cup of chowder on the side that Buck raved about, whereas Lissy personally thought it was bland and steak tips for himself, while Lissy went for the linguini tossed with herb roasted vegetables, which of course Buck teased her for.
“You’re not getting any of my beef, those veggies are not gonna feel you up, babe.” Buck laughed as he stabbed his fork into the steak.
Which wasn’t necessarily true since he had no issue sharing a spoon full of chowder about ten minutes ago before their main dishes came out.
Lissy hummed, disagreeing since she was definitely a pasta loving woman and got filled off carbs pretty quick but decided to taunt the man as she said, “I’ve already had my share earlier in the shower don’t you remember? I think I’ll be just fine.”
Buck stopped chewing to meet Lissy’s wink and had a few flashbacks of what was supposed to be a innocent shower turned not so innocent, “Behave.”
Now it was Saturday morning and she was awake before Buck. Lately she’s been waking up pretty early although she mainly worked the night time shift as a medical examiner, which Buck hated if she stayed over at his place. They hardly got the chance to spend nights together with their hectic schedules. Trust this wasn’t always Lissy’s desired path of careers but ultimately it probably made the most sense. With Lissy’s draining violent and psychological upbringing, she thought she would never see the light of day until she got away from the farm and was placed into an orphanage and then a helpful foster home that ended up wanting to adopt her.
She learned so much throughout her twenty-eight years of life and wanted to provide some sort of comfort to those who have passed on along with those that lost them. She wasn’t able to do that for her own mother who died not long after the birth of her baby sister, granted she was only six but she had to witness it. At least with death on the farm where the cult her father led, they gave each a proper send off.
That always stuck with Amaryllis no matter how twisted it may seem to outsiders.
“What are we doing today?” Buck says with sleep still deep in his tone, pressing his nose into Lissy’ shoulder, breathing her in, as he curls up against her.
It’s seven-nineteen in the morning.
Lissy blinks, “let’s go to the beach.”
“To get our early morning work out in? We didn’t get to go on our walk last night, so hell yeah, let’s go!”
Buck is full of cheers but Lissy let’s out a small laugh.
“I didn’t say all that. We’re on vacation! Who wants to work out on vacation?”
Gym rats, that’s who! Buck was 75% there.
“I’m gonna have alcohol poisoning by how many times you say ‘vacation’ on this trip aren’t I?”
“Oh, Shut up, Ev.”
Buck got used to Lissy appreciating the little things and yeah he found it enduring. Although he initially thought of someplace better than New Hampshire, he still planned on taking her all over the world since she never had that experience. Buck wanted to try his damn hardest to give Lissy the world.
Once upon a time, Lissy had a sheltered life, it was what she was used to and Buck was rebellious and always strived to do what someone told him not to do. They might have not liked it but at least he was able to say he fucking did it no matter the outcome.
Take that how you will.
And he found something special in the woman that lay before him. He wanted to share and see the world with her because there was no one else he wanted or imagined that more with. She made him happy and feel truly understood, always ready to listen to his side first, to be adventurous, and open to loving all that he is. In a way sure she made him nervous at times, since he’s never felt like he could be so raw in relationships before but he didn’t have to question when it came to her.
He guess it was true when they say you know you found the one the day you peer into their eyes long enough.
He’s chuckling before he presses a kiss to her clothed shoulder underneath the sheets, turning over his shoulder to reach for his phone to peer at the time since the alarm clock was turned on a odd angle on Lissy’s side of the bed.
“Eh, I’d rather lay here a little longer first. Let’s get up around seven-thirty or seven-forty five, huh?”
They were both early birds.
“Sure,” Lissy shrugs as Buck gets comfortable throwing his arm over her comforter covered body.
His touch was all she needed to close her eyes.
It was eight fifty when they settled onto the beach which was eight minutes away by car. The plaid blanket Lissy had spread out for them on the sand was just enough as they sat shoulder to shoulder, eyes out on the pale blue-gray waves that spun around on this Misty morning on the beach. Buck had his cup of flat white coffee, which he had to switch with Lissy since his iced coffee was too cold for him now on this sixty-five degree beach. He didn’t even care for coffee like that but he really got accustomed to it once he became a firefighter and it kept him wide-awake during over-time shifts.
“You know? this flat white isn’t too bad. It’s not what you always get right?”
Lissy’s nose crinkles a bit in humor as she sips at the cold iced mocha, which was a little too sweet for her liking but she masked it well, “I asked for extra milk and two sugars just in case.”
“So you knew—wow.” Buck stuck his tongue into his cheek, “You really do love me.”
“Yeah I do and don’t you forget it,” Lissy playfully pointed at the blond who slipped a hand around her back to rub as she leaned into him so he could kiss her temple and provide some warmth back.
And they sunk into each other as they watched the ocean come alive. Normally Buck didn’t mind the ocean but after with what happened with Christopher…the thought of the big body of water did give him a bit of anxiety until therapy gave him some peace. It also helped that he always had the love of his life to steer his mind away from the worries of life…for a little while at least.
The beach was serene and there werent too many people around that lingered yards away; Buck was sure that would be a complete contrast as the town rose to the day despite the gloom the skies brought.
Buck mumbled against Lissy’s hair, “Will you still say the same when I kick your butt at the arcade when it opens later?”
“Thats debatable.”
“I knew it,” Buck shared a laugh with the freckled face woman.
The couple later ventured off to another restaurant on the boardwalk for lunch around eleven thirty, eating lightly since their bellies were slightly full from the coffee before trailing down the boardwalk hand in hand. From souvenir shops where they got dorky but cute matching lounge shirts, to candy stores where Buck had a field day and wanted to take some home for Christopher since he was sure he would eat his share before they boarded the plane on Sunday afternoon, to finally stopping at a jewelry shop where Lissy went crazy buying all sorts of crystals that Buck still had no idea what they even mean. She even bought him a little glass turtle necklace that he just had to proudly wear around for the rest of the evening.
They ended up at the arcade by five pm and it was basically all fun between the two. Of course both wanted to win and it was close but the last game…Lissy had Buck in the end.
Literally and figuratively.
Buck sighs, “Alright fine, what do you want?”
“Kiss my ring first.”
“Oh this ring? The 1.5ct 18k opal stone with Moissanite accents? I don’t think your partner would like that very much.” He’s holding onto her fingers with pride and a smirk.
“Who’s to say he’s the one who gave it to me? Perhaps I’ve made this purchase all on my own, Mr.! Loving yourself first is the true key to finding love in someone else.”
“Well that’s true and I can’t be mad at that…but just curious, did you find that somebody?”
Lissy grins up at Buck as she locks her arms over his shoulders and Buck keeps his hands playfully raised, “I sure did, sugar. I’m looking right at him.”
And Buck seals her words with a kiss, guiding her right by the chin so their lips could meet. Buck can feel the soft tickle of her breath beneath his nose as they held each other in place, before they slowly moved their lips together in sync. His rosy lips were always so soft against her full and sweet ones and Lissy never got tired of kissing Buck. He always held her with so much tenderness and any day in his arms felt like a vacation to her.
When they broke apart, forehead to forehead, her round eyes flicked up to Buck’s awaiting spring floating into summer eyes, “I want the stuffed lobster.”
Buck snorted as he rolls his eyes up to the ceiling a bit, “yeah, of course you do. C’mon then.”
She bounced on her toes, letting her hands slide down from his chest just for him to grip her hand once more, leading her to the counter to claim her gift.
They’re back on the boardwalk with Buck snapping solo pictures of Lissy modeling at ease (along with off guard ones) with the vibrant red lobster and people moving about. It’s around seven with the sky slowly shifting to navy and the puff of clouds remaining gray; the air is still steamy but breezy and the married couple to be realizes their time on the illuminated boardwalk will be cut short as a single raindrop falls to the center of Lissy’s parted hair.
“Hey,” Lissy peeks up at the sky then, while Buck is getting his poses out in the mirror outside with a bucket hat and shades on.
Buck is asking Eddie on FaceTime, “How do I look man?”
“Like an assclown.” Lissy hears as she looks around the boardwalk, noticing that people began to take cover into the nearby stores.
Lissy takes that as a sign and starts, “Ev…”
Just as the rain begins pelting hard against the wooden walkway, giving the indication that it would definitely hurt if they decided to run through it.
“Liss?” Buck calls out as he watches her balance the stuffed lobster in between her thighs then gathered her blown out hair up into claw clip after quickly tying it into a ponytail, “Eddie it’s down pouring. I’ll call you later!”
She steps back into the hard rain, a single arm spread out in her copper sweater, while the other holds her lobster, russet dress underneath twirling a bit with a spin she does, a wide smile spreading out onto her lips as she calls out over the loud water, “let’s go!”
He calls back, “Where to?”
“Anywhere!” She laughs and Buck can’t help but to shake his head as he tosses the hat back on the hook then places the shades onto the near by table.
He runs out to her then, interlacing his soft but strong hand into her own, water saturating both of their faces harshly and he dips his head at Liss before they take off together into the rain storm full of laughter and full of love.
Buck and Lissy couldn’t tell you how long they sat in the rental car but it wasn’t nearly as long as they ran in the rain together. He questioned if it would be weird ordering some delivery service for dinner to arrive at the hotel that had a tavern downstairs but Lissy simply shrugged her shoulders as her drying hair became bigger in its natural state.
Buck left briefly to sit in front of the fireplace outside of the tavern in the lobby which reminded him of his stuffy grandparents living room, waiting on their dinner after yet another lengthy shower. Everything seemed to be more in slow motion, like time was infinite for them both. When their dinner arrived, Buck wasted no time getting back to their charming bedroom to see Lissy sitting cross legged on the bed, still in a robe eating a mud pie that looked real familiar on the menu last night.
“No way are you eating that without me.” Buck comments as he places the bag onto the desk nearby.
Lissy covers her mouth as she tries to chew through the heaviness, “surprise! I’ll share.”
“How nice of you,” Buck laughs as he begins taking the containers of food out just for Lissy to appear behind him holding the dessert up to his lips with a fork.
Buck sighs in contentment, opening his eyes back to see Lissy nodding at him in agreement, “That has no business being that freaking good…you think we can have that as the wedding cake?
Lissy’s chest swells just thinking about the day, although they haven’t set a date yet and Buck talks about the wedding more than she does lately, it still brings her immense joy that someone like Buck would want to do life with her. He was patient and she learned all about his past relationships, which were way more than her’s—which she didn’t judge him for by any means but sometimes she still had to pinch herself to see if this was all real.
“It’s certainly a option, baby.” She runs her fingers over his stubble.
Together they sit back against the bed, Lissy in between Buck’s legs as they eat out of their containers of food, Lissy holding her own in her lap while Buck’s is off to the side of his, the brick wall behind the post bed makes the room chiller but being in each other’s space was all the shelter they need.
Lissy finds herself turning over her shoulder to look at Buck as he’s stuffing his face. When he feels her dark eyes burning into him, he flicks his gaze away from his meal, cheeks full as he sends a boyish laugh her way with a lift of his chin.
“Stop looking at me Mrs. Buck and eat your food.” He says, holding her stare as a single hand gets lost in her much thicker auburn hair.
Lissy laughs, “only if we can have a late night cuddle?”
“Is that not what we’re doing?” Buck asks, sliding his hand to rest back on her thigh.
Lissy shrugs as she faces her meal again, “I’m actually kinda cold.”
“What? Not my woman who likes to keep the thermostat on Antarctica. Wait…are you wearing anything under there?” Buck slides his hand up her torso first but she slaps his hand from lifting the opening of the robe.
She wags her finger in front of Buck’s eyes repeating, “Not uh, eat your food.”
Buck rolls his head around with a groan, “well how am I supposed to eat this if I’m curious now?”
“Just look at Brutus over there.” She points at the stuffed lobster that sits in the desk chair.
Buck pursed his lips after a moment, “My god that thing is ugly.”
“Don’t talk about our son like that!”
“Our what?” Buck side eyed Lissy who fought back a laugh.
“He has feelings.”
“Babe, I don’t know if you know this but that’s a stuffed animal and it doesn’t have emotions.”
“That’s the problem with men, y’all don’t know how to be in touch with your feelings.”
“Now wait a minute,” Buck frowns, “Karen or was it May? Somebody! did tell me I’m a cancer moon or something like that. I think I’m very much in touch with my feelings.”
“Hmm, I’m still in disbelief and think you’re more on the Gemini-Cancer cusp.”
Buck blinks, “yeah…whatever that means but it feels offensive so I think we’re ready for bed now.”
“I didn’t finish my nachos,” Lissy whines as Buck is closing up their containers and moving them elsewhere.
Buck shrugs as he leans back against the pillows still sitting up somewhat and pulls Lissy to rest against his chest, “Too bad. It’s my turn to hold you tonight, you did say you were cold and I don’t want you getting sick.”
Lissy huffs as she nestled her cheek into his chest, “…I won’t complain.”
“I know you won’t,” Buck laughs as he squeezes her shoulder and let’s his other hand rest on her hip.
She leans a kiss on his neck and before she can close her eyes for the night, she spies the light box on his side of the bed. She fears that feeling will come back and settle in like dry cement once they’re both back in Los Angeles but for tonight, she revels in the safety of Buck’s arms.

Chasing the moon
Evan Buck Buckley x Female Reader
Request - Buck finding out the girl he’s been watching in old interviews who was in the military an was known for being a sniper but having the calmest heart rate while doing so an was best friends with Eddie.
Tumblr media
Buck can't sleep and it's late then he sighed, now he is watching videos on his phone. He stopped on a video and he developed a crush on the sniper then he starts to search more videos of her. He is impressed that she is a sniper and has other skills, so he searched for her profile on Instagram. Buck is starting to like a few pictures and he pressed the follow button. But eventually, he put his phone down and went to sleep.
The next day, at work he drank some energy drinks to be awake. On his lunch break, he starts to watch more videos of you. In some videos, you talked about stuff besides the military.
“You have been on your phone all day. Who are you texting?” Eddie said.
“I’m not texting anyone. I'm watching videos of the best sniper and she is really cute” Buck smiled.
“Show me,” Eddie said.
Buck showed him the video and he starts to smile. But Eddie doesn't tell him that he knows you, but Buck starts to talk about you.
“So you have a crush on her?” Eddie asked.
“I guess, I do. I'm following her on Instagram and I liked a few pictures” Buck said.
“Did you slide into her DMs?” Eddie asked.
“No. I don't want to write the same thing that other guys write. I have to do something different” Eddie said.
“Good luck with that,” Eddie said.
The fire alarm started to ring, and Eddie and Buck started to get ready and then ran to the truck.
----
A few days later... Buck did see new videos of you. Eddie noticed that Buck has a huge crush on you. Now they start to talk about what plans they have for the weekend. You walked into the fire station and start to look for Eddie.
“Y/n?” Eddie said.
“Hey, Eddie” You smiled.
Buck is in shock and speechless. You hugged Eddie and he is happy to see you.
“Wait, you know her?” Buck asked.
“Yeah, we know each other. We were stationed together and she lived with me Christopher for a little while before I came to California. Oh, Y/n this is my friend Buck” Eddie said
Buck starts to smile at you and he is feeling nervous.
“Hi, I'm Buck” Buck said.
“Yeah, he told me your name. But it's nice to meet you” You said.
“How did you find me?” Eddie asked.
“Actually, I bumped into Jason and he told me where you worked. And I wanted to surprise you and Christopher and I got a gift for him. Is he into Lego?” You said.
“He will like it. How about this, you and Buck should come over to my house for dinner” Eddie said.
“Sure, I will go,” You said.
“Good. Oh, I mean I will go too” Buck said.
You and Buck start to smile at each other.
“You can stay at my place if you want,” Eddie said.
“It’s fine. I'm staying at a hotel for a little while” You said.
The bell started to ring.
“We have to go,” Eddie said.
“Be safe. Call me later” You said.
“Yeah, I will,” Eddie said.
You leave the station then they start to get ready.
“Why you didn't tell me that you know her,” Buck said
“You didn't ask” Eddie teased.
“Not funny,” Buck said.
Buck is helping Christopher with his homework, and Eddie is cooking dinner.
“So... Is Y/n single?” Buck asked.
“I don't know. Wait, you want to ask her out?” Eddie said.
“Yeah, I want to ask her out. Are you going to be okay with that?” Buck said.
“I care about her, so don't break her heart,” Eddie said.
“I’m not that kind of guy,” Buck said.
“I’m not attacking you. I just want her to be happy that's all” Eddie said.
You arrived and Eddie hugged you. He starts to set the table while Buck tries to flirt with you.
“How did you and Eddie meet?” Buck asked.
“Actually, she saved me from almost being killed. She was on a roof of a house and she shot the enemy in the head. Since we became friends, we were stationed in Japan for two years before I went back to Texas then she followed me” Eddie said
“I was stationed in Texas. I didn't stalk you” You said.
You and Eddie started to laugh.
“So, are you dating anyone?” Eddie asked.
“No. I have been single for a while, I think it ready to date again” You smiled.
“You know there is a new restaurant, maybe we should go together Y/n,” Buck said.
“Sure, it will be a date” You smiled.
“Yeah, it will be a date” Buck smiled.
“You two should eat before the food gets cold,” Eddie said
Everyone starts to eat the food. You and Eddie tell Buck stories about being in the army.
✬ ✬ ✯ ✫
You and Buck finished watching a movie and then went to get ice cream. You and Buck are having a good time. He is hesitating to hold your hand.
“You have a gentle heart, Y/n” Buck said.
“You thought because I’m a sniper, I would be cold?” You said.
“Sorry, but yeah,” Buck said.
“Yeah, many people thought about me. “They thought I would be cold or aggressive,” You said.
“Yeah, pretty much,” Buck said.
Buck bought the ice cream. Then he takes you to the boardwalk, he paid for an artist to draw you and Buck together. Then you and Buck went to play a game, to see who makes the most shots. You and Buck grabbed the basketball and started to play.
“I won,” Buck said and he smirked.
“It was a lucky shot,” You said.
“We can go again, Y/n, and I will still win,” Buck said.
“Okay, let's play again,” You said.
You and Buck started to play again. But you lost again and he can't stop smiling at you.
“See, it wasn't just luck. I have skills” Buck smirked.
“Whatever, Buck,” You said.
He picked a shark plush and gave it to you. Later, you and Buck go on the Ferris wheel, he moved closer and put his arm around you.
“I’m having fun. This is a good first date” You said.
“Me too, I'm having fun,” Buck said.
He leans and he kissed you on the lips. You start to kiss him back and you put your hand on his cheek.
----
Its Halloween... Hen and Karen are having a party. They told everyone to arrive wearing costumes, you and Buck agreed to wear matching costumes. You and Buck are Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, then you take pictures with Buck and everyone else. Later, you met his sister Maddie and Chimeny and you're getting along with them. You and Buck start to dance together and he is making you laugh.
“So, this means you and Buck are official?” Eddie asked.
“Yeah, we are. But we are taking it slow” You said.
“I’m happy for you and Buck. You two deserve to be happy” Eddie said.
“Are you dating? And I mean it, that you deserve to be happy and have fun” You said.
“I’m dating but nothing is official just yet,” Eddie said.
Later, you and Buck sit down together and just talked for a little while then danced again.
---
You are staying the night at Buck’s apartment. You are showing him, pictures of you and Eddie in the army. You and Eddie are standing by the Jeep with other people.
“How did you know you wanted to be a sniper?” Buck asked.
“In the army, they make us do everything to see if we have a skill in a certain area. I beat Eddie and other people in target practice” You said.
“Wow. If I didn't see your interviews and Eddie told me that you are a badass sniper, I wouldn't have believed him” Buck said.
You and Buck started to smile. Later, you and Buck cuddled on the couch to watch a movie.

can you stay forever? [ evan buckley ]
⋯ SUMMARY ; when your ac unit blows, buck is quick to invite you to stay with him until it’s fixed -- leading to some realizations of where your relationship currently stands
⋯ PROMPT ; [ tara’s invitation ] you go to stay at your lover’s place after learning you are unable to stay at your own
⋯ WARNINGS ; female!reader, slight angst [ jerk landlords ] + general fluff [ cuddling, kissing + asking to move in ]
Tumblr media
buck perked up at the sound of his phone ringing loudly from the kitchen island. pausing his game before standing and quickly making his way over to where the device sat. and smiling when your name flashed across the screen, “hey, babe... to what do i owe this pleasure?” he questions the second he brings the phone to his ear, smiling falling a few seconds later when he hears you huff, “hey, what’s wrong?”
“my stupid ac unit went out, and my landlord said it was gonna be another four days before he could get someone out here to fix it. four days buck! my apartment is gonna turn into a hot box before it even reaches noon.” you complain softly, already feeling the heat creep up in your apartment. it didn’t help that los angeles was experiencing record highs for the day and then seemingly beating the previous days record with an all new high.
“do you want me to come over and look at it?” buck questions, already looking around for the toolbox he kept around just in case something similar happened in his own apartment, “no... because i’ve already tired and i’m about ninety-five percent sure that it’s an internal piece that needs to be replaced. so, i’m stuck until the repairman sounds up.”
“but you can’t say in a hot apartment... that’ll make you miserable.” buck comments before his brows shoot up in realization, “hey! why don’t you come stay with me for a few days? at least until the repairman shows up and then you can go back to your apartment.” he offers, teeth catches his bottom lip in anticipation as he waits eagerly for your response.
“buck, you are a god send. is it alright if i came over now?” you ask softly, to which he quickly responds with an enthusiastic yes before uttering his goodbyes and hanging up the phone to let you pack.
he quickly shuffles around his apartment, cleaning up his leftover containers from the night before and the pile of laundry that had grown in the corner of his bedroom. getting the place spick and span before you came over.
it’s almost half and hour later when you knock softly at his door. buck quickly greeting you with a soft kiss before he’s pulling the bag from your hands and chuckling when you melt against the cool top of his kitchen counter, “it’s so nice in here...” you mutter, relishing in the cool air as it beats down your back.
“you’re welcome to stay as long as you’d like... you know i never mind when you stay over.” buck states, smiling as you nod. he disappears for a moment, trailing up the steps to his bedroom to drop you bag and pillow onto his mattress before heading back down to the kitchen.
buck got you settled in for the rest of the day, preparing dinner for the two of you and reminiscing in the moment as you ate together. it was rare that the two of you ate together in the sanctity of his apartment, or hell, even your own. schedules never seemed to line up enough to afford the time for either of you to stay the night, leading to a thundering mess of pent up sexual tension that lasted longer than necessary.
so, buck had happily settled into bed alongside of you, pulling you into the safety of his arms before pressing kisses along the exposed side of your face. relishing in the little giggles that left your lips before eventually relenting, and pressing a final goodnight kiss to you lips before closing his eyes.
the routine had played out better than either of you could have hoped. quickly finding a balance and rhythm that made it seem as if the two of you had done this before in the past. as for buck, he had been more energized by just having someone to share his morning with before heading to his shift.
it continued like this until the end of the week, with the two of you either eating out or ordering in due to the overall tiredness you both felt after your respective shifts. however, you took a chance this night to make something. seeing as you didn’t have to go that morning and buck would be due home after his twenty-four.
“what’s all this?” buck questioned from the doorway, brow raised as you came around the island with two plates in hand, “dinner... figured you’d be hungry and i wasn’t up for trying the mystery dishes in your fridge.” you grimace softly before waving him into the apartment.
“how was your shift?” you smile, taking the seat next to him as he goes into detail about everything he got to do that day. although, he had kinda left out a few of the more unsettling parts. not wanting to make you queasy as you finished up your dinner and wine.
“i’ve got to say, this is problem the best meal i’ve had in a while...” buck comments as he quickly takes you plate before you manage to, prompting you back into your seat as you chuckle lightly, “captain nash not feeding you guys anymore?” you tease lightly, knowing the crew at 118 isn’t missing any meals -- especially the one night buck had brought home a container for you to try and you were almost jealous of him.
“you know what i mean...” he huffs, cleaning up the last of the dishes before pulling you towards the living room to watch whatever peaked either of your interests. buck flipped through each channel, until you make a noise of interest and he left it there. settling further into the couch as he pulled you in closer.
“i’m gonna miss this...” you mutter into his side, already dreading having to go back to your apartment in the morning -- your landlord having informed you earlier that morning that maintenance had fixed the issue. “do you have to go? you could stay here with me...” buck offers, pulling you in closer as if you were going to leave in that very moment, “i’ve still got a few more months on my lease.” you answer, playing with the loose strings of his shirt to keep you occupied.
“then, how about after? wait out the rest of your lease, and then move in with me. you can stay forever.” he smiles, knowing he’s already got you convinced just by the way you tuck your face further into his chest to hide your smile.
“you’ve got about five months to figure out how to not leave your socks on the coffee table, then.” you tease, gesturing to the two pairs of socks already settled atop the wood as buck chuckles, “i’m sure i can figure something out for  you...”

Evan Buckley x Reader
Summary: You and Buck need to leave for work.... but one of you is being very difficult.
A/N: Send in some requests!
----------------------------------------------------------
You had just grabbed your backpack and you were about to head out the door with Buck, but he didn't want to leave. Not just yet. He had, other plans...
"One more kiss, please," he said and you turned around before placing a soft kiss on his lips. He groaned into the kiss before dipping his tongue into your mouth and maneuvering you up against the counter.
The kiss broke and you were both breathless. You stared at his kiss swollen lips and flushed face. His LAFD shirt was begging to be taken off.
"No, fuck," you sign as he leans down to press a single kiss to your collarbone. He begins trailing kisses down your chest and then going back up the sweet spot on your neck. He sucks a small hickey before pulling away.
"No, Buck, what if- if there's a fire. The 118 is currently short two firefighters," you say referencing the two of you.
"One more kiss," he said with a smile as he leaned in the press a kiss to your lips. You moaned into the kiss as his hands began wandering
You pulled away and grabbed your keys, "We are already late buck, let's go," you say as you make your way to the door. He groans before following you.
"I think I deserve another kiss," he says as he follows you out the door. Of course he did. He probably did if you were honest with yourself, but you were both late for work.
"Why do you have to make this so hard?" You groan. Having to resist the urge to run into the apartment and kiss him all day was nearly impossible.
"Why do you have to make me so hard?" He says with a shit eating grin and you blush as you enter the elevator.
"Shut up," you mumble as the elevator close. Buck tilts your chin upwards so you can look him in the eye.
"if you kiss me," he says with yet another shit eating grin. He can tell he's made you hot and bothered. Probably seconds away from dragging him back to the apartment and calling in sick.
You press a far quicker than Buck would like, kiss to his lips before pulling away when the elevator. You had to get better at not giving in to Buck's antics. But how could you? I mean, look at him.
"You're going to do this all day?" You say even though you know the answer.
"What?" He asks innocently, "Make you all horny all day? With nothing to do about it? Yeah," he said with a smile and you groaned. It was going to be a long day.

It was a sunny day outside, and your plans to have a picnic with your family were confirmed when you saw the bright blue sky outside your window.
The picnic was going to be on the park that you and Buck had your first date in. It was also the park where you guys met, the place where you told him you were pregnant and the one where he proposed to you. So it was a very special place for the both of you.
It was the first time you and your little family left the house for that kind of activity. Usually, it was very hard for you and Buck to have some time together, since you two had opposite schedules: him as a firefighter, you as a 911 dispatcher.
But after you got a little bit of your old body back, you wanted to try your favorite dress. And this was the perfect occasion.
You carefully picked up your dress from your closet. It was white with blue flowers, and it stopped above your knees. It had a slit and an off shoulder neckline. It showed your curves perfectly, and everytime you wore it, Buck couldn’t stop looking at you. He never could, but it was very special when you also felt good about yourself.
You put it on, feeling the soft cloth on your skin. You felt extremely comfortable on your own skin for a little bit.
But then, you looked at yourself in the mirror.
You couldn’t see your waist anymore, not like you used to. Your arms were a little chubbier, and your smile started fading away as you found more and more "flaws" on your body and face.
Before you could take it off, the bedroom’s door opened.
“Babe?” He called, entering the room. He stopped walking when he put his eyes on you.
His mouth was half-opened, and his eyes traveled through your body. His cheeks started getting red, and a smile formed in his face.
“You look…”
“I know, I know, I was about to change.” You said, starting to open the zipper.
“No, no! You look amazing, babe. I feel like I fell in love with you all over again.” He said, grabbing your waist and caressing it.
“You don’t need to lie to me just because we’re engaged, babe.” You said, holding his face with your hands.
“I’m not lying!” He answered, grabbing your hands. “You just had a baby, my love. You are going too hard on yourself. It’s not even justifiable, because you look incredibly sexy as always, okay?” He said, making you laugh.
“Are you being serious, Buck?”
“Look, if you don’t believe me, let’s call Maddie. Act like you just bought this dress and want her opinion on it, okay? She’ll be honest.”
Before you could answer, Buck grabbed your phone and facetimed his sister, who picked up after three beeps.
“Hi, honey! How are you?”
“Hi, Maddie! Can you help me with something?”
“Sure! What do you need?”
“Does this dress look good?” You asked as you put your phone on your pillow, stepping back so she could see it better.
“Oh, honey, it looks so good! You look so pretty!” She said, smiling genuinely. “It suits you perfectly! I love it!”
“Promise?”
“Yes! Yes, I promise.”
“Ok, thank you!” You said, ending the call. Buck was looking at you, leaning against the doorframe and smiling proudly.
“What did I tell you?” He said, walking to you and grabbing your waist again.
“Thank you, babe.” You said, putting your arms around his neck.
Buck smiled and started kissing you slowly, caressing your waist. He only broke the kiss to start distributing them around your face, which made you giggle.
His eyes started to shine as he heard the sound of your laugh. He suddenly pulled you up and started spinning you in the air, only to carefully throw you on the mattress and begin kissing you again.
“We need to go, babe!” You said in between kisses, making him pout.
“Do we really need to?”
“Babe…”
“I'm just kidding, my love. Let's go.” He said, giving you one last kiss before pulling you up. “But when we get home, you'll be all mine.”
“Promise?” You asked while putting your hands on his shoulders.
“Always.”

U know
I know sex is good and all, but can we talk about something as attractive as sex?
Massage your partner's tense shoulders when he is having a hard day?
Cook dinner or something for eat and laugh in each other's faces when everything is a mess?
Hug them close and play with their hair while you guys watch television?
Have a coffee or tea while watching your pets run around the garden freely?
Go to town or to the shopping to watch a movie and stuff yourself with popcorn, soda, and candy?
Oh, Oh!! But if you like to be naked and walk around the house (like I do *cof*), maybe things like:
Walking around the house both naked or semi-naked, just to conquer territory or play nianderthals (lmao i have a problem)
Take a shower together and help them wash their hair and back?
Sharing sensual kisses through the neck and shoulders in a cuddle session?
Speaking of the cuddle section, how about the good old naked cuddle section? Like, there's really no sexual intent. Just the two of you (or three, four? Idn 🤷‍♀️) enjoying the intimacy of feeling skin to skin and sharing soft touches along your arms, back, thighs, cheeks or hair.
Biting that fluffy tummy they flaunt so gracefully when they're shirtless or those cheeks? Its a paradise tbh u wu
What about those things a real couple does after some time together? Like:
Shave that blind spot you can't reach and you turn to them with those puppy dog eyes and they just reach out for you to give to them the wax/razor? Lmao
Have mild dysfunctions about whether or not to wash the dishes that night or just leave it for the next day?
The happiness and relief on both their faces when they got home after a long day?
If you're a 21st century couple you're sure to share memes, recipes, videos of animals being funny, plant care tips (yes, you have plants), etc.
If you are not, no problem! You can just go camping or go swimming in the lake on some hot day. Or just go out in a car or on a motorcycle (bonus point if you guys decide to go flying around on broomsticks).
Or maybe you've been a couple since you were young and now, the years together come with gray hairs and a few wrinkles here and there? They think you look more and more beautiful as the years go by ♡

Buck twirls you around, strong arms circling your waist. Your feet don't touch the ground as he spins you, the skirt of your dress billowing in the breeze. You lean back in his hold, and catch sight of Eddie throwing Christopher up in the air, both of them laughing.
Buck puts you down and grins at you, Cheshire cat smile bright and blinding. You smooth your hands across his chest, flattening out his crisp white dress shirt where you've crinkled it. You tug at his bow tie, straightening it gently. Your gaze meets his, and you beam at him.
"Have I told you how handsome you look tonight, Evan Buckley?" you tease, wrapping your arms around his neck to sway with him. There's a smooth, jazzy melody echoing through the huge backyard, illuminated by golden, twinkling lights.
He quirks a brow at you cheekily before answering.
"I wouldn't mind hearing it again."
"I'm sure you wouldn't," you laugh, shrieking as he dips you backwards quickly.
"Well, you look very handsome. I like you in a tux."
You swear you see him blush slightly, heat creeping across his cheeks. He finds his confidence again, sliding his hands across the exposed skin of your back slowly.
"You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen," he tells you sincerely, eyes never leaving yours. "I should tell you that more often."
"Yes, you should," you tease, grinning at him.
You take notice of his smile, his relaxed shoulders, the way he's swaying with you effortlessly.
"You love weddings, don't you?"
"Hell yeah I do!" he replies delightedly. "Everyone I love all in one place, dancing, music... what more could you want?"
You can't wipe the smile off your face. He's right. The entire 118 is here, together as a family. Everyone is happy, excited to be celebrating Bobby and Athena's vow renewal. It's not often you all get to leave work at work and enjoy yourselves completely. You plan to make the most of every single second.
You feel two warm hands find your hips from behind, instantly leaning back into the broad chest behind you, knowing who it is immediately.
"Hola, Mr Diaz."
"Hola, hermosa."
"You gonna keep her all to yourself all night, Buckley?" he asks, wrapping his arms around you, over the top of where Bucks are already resting. You're sandwiched between the two of them, completely content.
"We were avoiding you and your terrible dance moves," Buck jokes, the three of you swaying together now.
"Are you hearing this?" Eddie asks incredulously, chuckling into your ear. "My terrible dance moves?"
"Don't listen to him, Eds. His ego lies to him."
"It's called confidence! Sorry if I have faith in my dance moves!"
The three of you laugh, bodies and souls tangled and intertwined on the dance floor.
Across the backyard, Chimney and Hen are sat at their table, watching you, Buck and Eddie move to the music, arms wrapped around one another.
"They really love each other, don't they?"
"Oh, yeah," Hen laughs. "Wish they'd all just admit it."
Chimney looks at his best friend in confusion, brows quirked and face crumpled.
"... What?"
"Oh, come on, Chim," Hen chuckles. "It's twenty twenty three. Get with the program."
"You mean, like, love love," Chim confirms, still puzzled.
"Yes, Howie. Love love. In love. The three of them are completely in love."
Chimney processes for a moment, before a light bulb goes off in his head.
"Oh, shit!" he laughs. "They totally are!"
"Damn, men are oblivious. How am I the only one that's noticed?"
"You aren't," Bobby and Athena say in unison, pulling out chairs to sit at the table.
"But we can't rush them. Good things like this take time," Athena offers.
Bobby glances over at the dance floor. You're holding Buck and Eddie's hands, and Chris is too, the four of you dancing and laughing. He smiles for moment, before speaking.
"You know they basically live together?"
When he's met with confused faces, he continues.
"They all crash at Eddie's place with Christopher so often, they've practically moved in. Buck hasn't slept in his own apartment in months."
"I mean, how do you even... navigate something like that? The three of them? It's so complicated," Chimney asks genuinely.
"They'll figure it out," Bobby assures. "They always do."
With that, he rises from his chair and across the yard. He scoops Christopher up into his arms, promising him cake and soda, much to Eddie's dismay. He winks at Buck before carrying Chris away, leaving the three of you alone.
Eddie surprises you by grabbing your hand and then Bucks, pulling you both away from the crowd.
"Come on. I wanna show you something."
He leads you up and into the guest bathroom of the house, rolling his eyes at you and Bucks suggestive comments. He's first to climb out the window and onto the roof, making sure you get through safely in your dress.
The three of you sit and watch your friends in the yard below, quietly reflecting. You're suddenly aware of the way you're sandwiched in between them again, thighs pressed together. You lean left and rest your head on Eddie's shoulder, interlinking your right hand with Bucks.
"How lucky am I?" you breathe. "To be surrounded by so much love."
Eddie rests his head atop of yours, smiling as he watches Buck lean in to rest his on your shoulder. The three of you exhale.
"We're the lucky ones," Buck murmurs. "I never thought I'd have this."
"Well you do," Eddie reassures. "And we're not going anywhere, Buckley."
"He's right, Buck. We're not going anywhere. Ever."
Evan sits up to kiss you on the cheek, before leaning over you and doing the same to Eddie.
The three of you sit on the roof, bodies and souls intertwined, illuminated by the moonlight. How lucky you are, to be surrounded by so much love.
