Once again you find yourself trudging through the forest for another secret meeting with your lover. Unfortunately, this is how things must be. A relationship between a fairy and a demon from the forbidden city is strictly unheard of. 

You had never met a demon before until you saw Gyutaro. Demons have always been described as terrifying creatures, but his appearance still surprised you. This berry was rumored to rid oneself of their ugliness. But, not being used to traversing dense forests, he had quickly found himself stuck in a patch of enchanted vines. 

Luckily you came along when you did, using your magic to free him from the vines. When Gyutaro first laid eyes on you, he was entranced by your beauty. Your sparkling wings and the delicate flowers laced through your hair captivated him. 

After that day, you two were inseparable. And it didn’t take long for Gyutaro to confess his feelings for you, and the two of you became a couple. Neither of you were bothered by dating someone of a different species, if anything, your differences brought you closer. You learned that demons weren’t as terrifying and vicious as everyone had claimed. Gyutaro was a sweetheart and he always went out of his way to protect you and make you feel special. Something about the glimmer of his fangs and the glow around his slit pupils made your heart skip a beat. You loved that he was different from anyone you’d ever met before. 

Trekking through the forest you finally spot a familiar bush with blue leaves and pink flowers. Parting the leaves and stepping through, you see him. Gyutaro sitting under a large glowing mushroom, the landmark of your nighttime rendezvous.

“Gyutaro!” You shout excitedly.

He immediately perks up and looks behind his shoulder. “Y/N! My Love!” He smiles wide and stands up - coming towards you with open arms. 

Using your wings, you fly into his embrace. Gyutaro hugs you tightly, spinning you around in his arms.

“It was good! I helped the elders prepare for the Autumn feast,” you get excited as you remember something, “Oh! They even let me enchant the lily berries to ripen them!”

“Wow, you did that with your magic?” he smiles, “You never cease to amaze me.”

“What about you, my love? How was your day?”

“It was fine,” he sighs, “Spent most the day collecting debts. The only thing that got me through it was thinking about you. I’ve missed you all day…”

“I’ve missed you too,” you caress his cheek and lean forward, touching your lips to his. He puts a clawed hand around your waist and deepens the kiss. Day 161: Finally announcing the winners of the DTIYS competition! Sorry it took so long to get around to lads TwT

I’m amazed at how many entries i got, and they were all wonderful! If you check out the #daily teki dtiys tag you can check em all out for yourself ^^!

It was really hard to pick between the top 5, (so much so that I changed having a top 3 for a top 5) so without further ado:

Coming in at 5th place, we’ve got @frenchgremlim1808 !!

I rlly love the bright colours and shading, plus your style is always absolutely iconic.

4th place goes to @nina-the-ninth !

The shading and more realistic style is spellbinding, and it’s composed rlly well- it was super tough choosing between 4th and 3rd place. This was 100% the reason I ended up deciding to do a top 5 rather than a top 3- I absolutely couldn’t leave it out

In 3rd place we have @bagofjax !!

The lighting and the textured hand drawn calligraphy contrasted to the bright pixel colours of the game sprites really got to me, and then seeing the strings of numbers making up the background absolutely pushed it over the line into the top 3 for me.

An incredibly close second place goes to @goldyluna !

I am such a sucker for the flow and styling of that hair- she looks like she could be right at home on a figurine shelf. I love the unique chains around her neck seeing as she doesn’t say a word ingame, and I love that you added more chains as well. I also love your font with the calligraphy, the spiky fringe, and even the spotted pattern in the background looking like someone’s watching. Overall I think it’s my favourite drawing of teki herself, and both second and first place are on a skill level I’d love to someday achieve.

And in 1st place is @averagecatdoodlesenjoyer !

The chromatic aberration adds extra depth, and I love the addition of the chains in the background. I flipped so many times between first and second place because they’ve both got so much going for them in so many different aspects. The lighting and composition is what ultimately won me over, and the slight change in pose really works too. It’s truly beautiful, it even looks like she’s under a stage light with the poses falling down like pieces of paper or giant confetti. And so it certainly gets the confetti from me.

I loved absolutely everyone’s entries for this, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated! I’ll have to think of something to give to all the winners seeing as just a thank you and a pat on the back seems a little cheap for everyone’s hard work on these.

We are finally reaching our last day of HLAW!! And we've got such incredible entries - this time also from new people who have sent us such fabulous work! We're grateful to all our contributors - both old and new - for the love and enthusiasm you've shown us so far and hope to see more in store today as well!!

Day 5 is all about the relationships!! Whether familial, platonic or romantic, Hana gives each one her all �� She is also someone who is attempting to learn a new normal - how to continue loving others while also taking care of herself! This is a chance to explore Hana's connections with other people, whether in canon or your OCs, and explore her unique way of navigating them!!

Any content is welcome!! Fanfic, fanart, edits, moodboards, interactive, media, headcanons, screenshots, playlists, meta...even screenshots of your favourite scenes would be great!! Kobra Kid's answer to : "What is a day you'll never forget?"

Written in my wattpad a few months ago, i posted Jet's here so I'm doing Kobra's too (: enjoyyyy

Mines nothing in comparison to Jet's. I'm gonna go with a nice one. I'm not huge on being sentimental but the day Poison won a bunch of awards for his art in a zone wide exhibit was a great day.

It was mid July 2017. Girl had just come to live with us maybe a month earlier. We had gotten word about a big exhibit that was gonna happen in zone five. Poison had always been a bit of an artist and that's what he always wanted to do with his life before BL/I. He tried to keep his skill sharp in the zones but with limited supplies it was really hard. Honestly it made me really sad to see his dreams crushed. We had been trying to convince him to enter for several days before he gave in. He painted and drew all sorts of things. Scenery, people, emotions...it was really cool. We drove out to zone five and he submitted almost a dozen pieces. We walked around to look at the other entries while they were being judged.

" I wish I hadn't done this." He whined

" Why?" Jet asked

" Because...Look at this stuff... Mine's nothing like theirs." he said sadly gesturing to all the colorful papers and canvas spread out around him.

" Oh stop it." Jet said playfully smacking him

" Your stuff is way better, Pois." Ghoul said trying to cheer him up

" If I were a judge I wouldn't even bother looking at the rest of this stuff. Yours is clearly the best." He finished

" Mmm."Poison said, still not buying it.

" It's really good." Girl said running up next to the red head.

" You're an amazing art dude." She said smiling

He smiled at her, " Thank you Missile." He said bending over to give her a hug.

We all kinda separated and walked around separately but I stayed with my brother.

We walked quietly for a while just looking at the many painted and pastel cacti and sunsets... I'm not an expert but it seemed a little generic to me. I could tell he was getting sadder by the second feeling so much more inferior to the more established artists. Poison has always lacked self confidence in everything. His appearance,personality, skills. And he shouldn't feel bad because he's a unique human being and that's something to be proud of.

Poison sighed.

" You know even if you don't win I'm still proud of you Pois." I said

" You should save the pride for something worth it." He said sadly looking at a charcoal sketch of yet another cactus.

" Nope. I'm still proud of you. And I always will be no matter what you do." I said again.

"..."

" Alright Poison. Enough self pity. Look at this stuff. It's all the same thing. Sunsets and cactus. Boring bland colors and no emotion behind it right?" I asked

" I mean...sorta."

" And you put thought and emotion into your stuff. Colors and variation. "

" Thats-"

" Let me put it this way." I interrupted turning to face him.

" These guys may have some talent and knowledge for sure. They have no creativity to back it up. It's just knowledge.It's kinda like how most people can write...but only a few people can ACTUALLY write, and have a story to tell or a message to get across." I finished. He thought for a second.

" So please...don't be down on yourself for having something a lot of people can only dream of. Both knowledge AND creativity." I said, pulling him into a tight hug.

He hugged me back and I could feel him release all the tension in his body.

" Thanks Kobra." He said

" Anytime. "

*STATIC*

"WILL PARTY POISON PLEASE MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE JUDGES TABLE AT THIS TIME" a loudspeaker screeched out

" I saw a flash of fear in my brother's eyes.

" relax. You got this alright?" I said

" Yeah... " He said walking away. He looked back at me and I gave him a thumbs up.

I found Jet, Ghoul and Girl.

" Why did they want Poison?" Ghoul asked

" Dunno..." I responded.

*STATIC*

"WINNERS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED AT THE JUDGES TABLE! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED THIS YEAR AND WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR!"

They went to the front as they were instructed and saw Poison grinning ear to ear with all his colorful creations displayed hung with diy ribbon's. He ran up to us and immediately hugged me.

" Thank you for always believing in my Kobra." He whispered

" Anytime." I said

He was wearing a scratched and chipped gold metal with the engraving of " Track and Field champions" crossed out with a sharpie to read " Reigning Zone art champion."

Everyone hugged and congratulated him. He picked up Missile Kid and spun her around while she laughed.

" I told you you'd win!" she exclaimed.

I Know it's nothing I really did but I'm still proud of my big brother for everything he has done and has yet to do. He's been competing and winning competitions all over the Zones ever since and I'm so happy to see him being what he always wanted to be.

I was talking about Saints Row to someone who never played Saints Row recently, and they asked me why do I invest myself in this series' story if I hate it so much which is so funny. But you know what? I'm beginning to think that's what makes this series so appealing in the first place.

Thinking about it, Saints Row 1 was an amazing entrance to the series, and the start of the Saints saga. Not to mention that it was literally ahead of time in the terms of delivering a deep, thoughtful storyline that took itself seriously. And then, they did something insane, something that GTA never did (this is really important, considering that at time, the reputation it had was "GTA clone"), but did a direct sequel to the first game, with a lot of returning characters. All while perfectly capturing the mix of wacky fun and serious storytelling, and all that the same Rockstar rebooted GTA with brand new cast and direction, which made Saints Row stand out on its own as a series in comparison.

And then it just went downhill from there, getting further and further from the original deep and serious direction, even being a Mass Effect parody at one point (That's the part that made the person ask me this originally btw). This usually causes the fandom to pick a favorite entry and then base their entire perception of the series on the tone set (usually SR1 and SR2 claiming the majority)

And that's where it gets fun, where you form a unique bond with series. The fanart, the fanfiction, the fanon. Because every has their interpenetration of the series, everyone tends to reimagine their own take on the individual games to fit this interpenetration. From small things like adapting Saints Row 1 to be about a female Playa, to completely rewriting SRIV and removing sci-fi elements from it.

Dex and Troy are a perfect example, where everyone has their own take on the two characters because Volition did a terrible job writing them post-SR1, and we just soak that up, take notes from each other??? Can you imagine doing that in some other fandom? Imagine going to someone in Mass Effect fandom and telling them you rewrote their favorite character in the later games because you hate the direction devs took. You'd literally be put in witness protection.

And because everyone is doing this, this creates an unique environment in the fandom where we aren't really toxic to each other and our takes on the series, because we understand its just our different experiences of the series. Especially since almost everyone I met on Tumblr fully understands that fanon is something personal to a person writing it, and it makes the experience of sharing it and consuming it a lot better compared to someone on YT or Reddit writing their "ideal" SR sequel that always seems pushing their fanon as "one true canon" compared to being a cool little story you make and share with your friends.

Learn from my mistakes

Entry Level Finance Associate Edition ✨

This past year has taught me so much about myself. I bumped my head so many times. However, this has shaped the professional I am today. Here are some topics I had to learn the hard way.

First and fore most write everything down

You will have a lot of information thrown at you and it’s nearly impossible to retain it if you don't write it down. It’s also proven that writing things down is beneficial.

It helps you to process and clarify your thoughts.

It frees up your mind to create more ideas.

Provides a foundation of knowledge that can be built upon.

Helps with forgetfulness, you can access the information when you need it and you don’t have to remember it.

Practice active communication

Give your manager an update before they ask you for one.

Keep up with your email - it’s not fun if people have to track you down. Everyone’s time is important.

Figure out a method to keep up with your emails. I personally practice inbox zero and I work out of my flagged emails folder. More information here.

Seek outside educational sources

Book knowledge will only get you so far.

Don’t be afraid to google things. I bet money your superiors still do it.

Take LinkedIn Learning courses in areas that you lack. - I took a few, how-to-take effective meeting notes, business communications foundation and how to think strategically.

Stay up to date with Finance trends and emerging regulations.

If your employer provides outside resources, take advantage of them! They are there for you for free!

Run your own race

Everyone brings something unique to the table. Try to find out what you bring.

I don’t shy away from responsibility. I'm an extremely hard worker and if you drop something on my desk, I will figure it out.

Remember you are enough and you contribute something valuable to your team.

Get organized!

Here’s my post on my organization system. Extra tips include:

Learn to wrap up your day - Meaning make a habit of shutting down your computer everyday. This forces you to wrap up items you are in progress of and helps you to keep track of them. It also feels good to be able to start your day fresh.

Get a planner - Physical or digital whatever your preference is. Get into the habit of using it every day to log important dates and tasks.

Keep you calendar updated - You don’t want to miss important meetings.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

They do not expect you to know everything. In fact they expect you to know the bare minimum.

Ask questions, but try not to ask the same question over and over.

Get Grammarly Premium!!!

This has saved my life and lifted so much stress off my shoulders. No more am I spending the entire day working on an email and second-guessing myself. I run everything through Grammarly before I send out anything and save so much time.

Our second theme is Character Appreciation. You're free to interpret this any way you like... just think of what you love most about Sloane's character, and anything that perfectly depicts/illustrates that!

Our final theme for today is Friendship! We all know that Sloane starts out in this series a little under confident about her ability to make friends. And yet, her charm, kindness and unique ways of showing affection win over even the people who started out mistrusting her. This day will also be dedicated to exploring Sloane's friendships!!

I believed that everyone shines in their own way.

But… amongst them, there will be one who shines much brighter.

A light so bright that it outshines the other stars surrounding it, drawing everyone’s attention to it and making them fall in love with it… occasionally, it also gives some people the courage to continue living.

Before I met him, I never knew about the existence of a star with such overwhelming beauty.

Aegis Public Holdings — a Tokyo-based advertising company that handles advertisements across a wide range of media platforms including the TV, magazines, and the internet.

I worked as a temporary employee in their creative department, which was responsible for producing such advertisements.

I successfully progressed to the final interview with Aegis back when I was job-hunting, but I unfortunately didn't make the cut in the end.

(At that time, I was really disappointed. Fortunately, I received a job offer from another industry…)

I had dreamt of becoming an advertising planner for a long time, and I absolutely couldn’t give up on working for Aegis.

That was why I decided to start my career pathway as a temporary employee.

(Whenever I think of it, I can’t bring myself to whine about my own choice.)

(I’ve always admired Aegis, and being able to work in their creative department is already very commendable.)

Time for my lunch break. I was walking through the nearby park with my bento in hand, and I thought of the documents I photocopied earlier on.

(If I’m not mistaken, that was the advertising project for a drinking water company Mori-san’s in-charge of.)

(Amazing… I want to work on a major project like that someday.)

Mori-san was a full-time employee and my team leader, she was often referred to as the department’s “Ace”.

The other employees who built their careers from the bottom up had stable jobs, dressed well… and were overflowing with confidence.

(They shine so bright… and yet, I still don't have that kind of confidence.)

(Most of my tasks are only the basic level work of an assistant, so I haven't had many opportunities to gain experience with handling the main responsibilities of our department.)

The stark contrast between myself and the full-time employees could even be seen in our lunches.

As a temporary employee on a budget, I would make my own bento and bring it to work. Meanwhile, the full-time employees enjoyed their lunches at fancy restaurants.

(... No, no, no. If I keep thinking of it like that, my bento won’t taste good anymore.)

I shook those depressing thoughts off.

Someday, I’ll be promoted to a full-time position and create advertisements that inspire those with dreams.

The chief of our department was addressing everyone excitedly.

Department Chief: The project is to create an advertising campaign for a new perfume from the major french brand, “Aisance”!

Department Chief: This new product will be launched globally, so the advertising will also be aired all over the world!

Rina: W-worldwide!?

From songwriting, composing, choreographing, designing their own stage outfits, to directing their performances— being self-produced was one of their strengths.

Their outstanding vocal and dance skills put them on a quick road to stardom, topping the charts not only locally but even in America…

(Even someone like myself, who’s unfamiliar with idols, has heard of them.)

There was not a single day where they wouldn't be seen in the media, and I also heard that they had a very passionate fanbase around the world.

(I see. So Aisance chose a Japanese company for their advertising campaign because they want exe Creed to be their model.)

(But Aisance’s advertisements have always been featuring famous Hollywood actresses.)

(Now they’re choosing a group of Japanese idols… male idols… this is too surprising…!)

It seems that many advertising companies would be competing against one another to officially secure this project.

Department Chief: Our company’s reputation is on the line. We must definitely win this!

The enthusiastic department chief made an even more surprising announcement.

Due to the models being world famous idols, they were more open to opinions this time…

Everyone, regardless of their department and position, were allowed to submit their project plans.

(This is my golden opportunity! I’m only a temporary employee, so I might stand a chance to work on an advertising project from its planning stage…!)

My heart was racing and overflowing with the desire to give it a shot.
