As in Draco/Hermione were like antagonistic/enemies with eachother, but are opposites that's why people ship them. Good vs Evil, Slytherin vs Gryffindor etc. I thought that Michaela and Connor kinda had that snarky opposite vibe in Season 1 at least. What I meant about the racial thing was Draco always calling her Mudblood.

Yeah, I understood, I just said that because I thought the ask should’ve been rethought. I always stay away from this aspect of harry potter because it gets to this place where i don’t have the energy to argue with people but even within the context of the series, while I would consider mudblood a derogatory insult, I wouldn’t call it racist or racism I would say it’s bigotry, bigotry is not necessarily racism while racism is bigotry: Draco and Hermione are both white, Draco and Hermione are both human, Draco and Hermione are both wizard/witch, she is just a kind of witch that he is prejudiced against i.e. bigotry, what would actually be racism is when Pansy Parkinson specifically makes fun of Angelina’s braids by saying they look like snakes going up her head, what would actually be racism is JK Rowling naming Cho Chang Cho Chang because those are two surnames from two different ethnicities. ANYWAY moving on from that, my other issue is that Draco and Hermione didn’t even have the kind of relationship the fandom says they had in the books, this always drove me crazy, they hardly interact and when they do, he’s either calling her a mudblood or mocking her

And even that isn’t Michaela and Connor because Michaela and Connor are both used to being top of their class, both ambitious, both driven and that makes them rivals, but like rivals who respect each other, and rivals who use the other to stay ahead of the game, not actual rivals, and if it were to be romantic, it would be like Dan and Amy

Finally, Michaela and Connor’s chemistry was suited to being friends/rivals the way they were, they were endearing that way although as the seasons go on, Connor becomes a shit friend to her

Connor and Oliver had a cute chemistry and a nice chemistry

the writing for them was just weak. I understand why you didn’t get Coliver because I spent the first two seasons being like why exactly are you two together, though, like I don’t really understand what this whole thing is based in or why you’re so attached to him Connor and vice versa, Oliver, but they were a ship that grew on me that by the time the series ended, I wasn’t a Coliver shipper but I enjoyed their dynamic enough to ignore that I found the writing for them weak because they worked nicely together

so I would hazard that for you, it’s more about liking the kind of dynamic he has with Michaela more than what he has with Oliver than it actually is about chemistry because what romantic/sexual chemistry are you seeing here?

1. How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?

12 or 13. I wrote a whole lot of Sirius/James angst in journals and on a fucking typewriter because I was that person.

4. What is your favourite genre to write for?

Hmm, honestly I’m probably most at least in a comedic type thing where there is a lot of banter to be had. But otherwise angst. I know those are very general, but over the past 2 years I’ve tended to write a lot of shorter AU fics.

5. If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?

Ehh, I always find a million problems when I reread shit I’ve written, but my current fic All Summer Long (Drarry) or my not-abandoned-but-rarely-updated fic Colorblind (Coliver) are both dear to me. I am really enjoying doing my own world-building in the HP universe in All Summer Long because I never really put the effort into that. I’ve also done a weird amount of research for this, so I think that helps lol. For Colorblind, I feel like it was really fun to find a balance between angst, smut, and some fluffiness (more to come when I eventually update). I had a great time writing Connor and Michaela’s friendship, especially.

6. If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?

Anything from my fanfiction.net account. (Ash, you remember the reading of the James/Sirius fic, right? The one that included the line: “Sirius, I love you, too. God, beyond all things betwitched, I love you so effin' much.") OR, more mysteriously, anything from my secret ArchiveOfOurOwn Glee account from high school/freshman year. It’s an archive of all the embarrassing kinks I used to have, and I hate it. 

12. Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?

Sirius Black. He’s probably an excuse to do a little bit of self-inserting (lol), but he’s definitely more overtly dramatic than me.

13. Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?

Hermione’s voice feels hard to capture for me. I struggle to find a balance for her between smart without being stuck up and chill without losing her Hermione attributes.

41. What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?

Sebastian from Glee. He has no real backstory, so I feel like there are a lot of opportunities to do some fun stuff with him. The ways I’ve written him as I’ve grown up have changed very similarly to how the ways in which I’ve written Draco have changed.

45. What spurs you on during the writing process?

Hmm. Well, the obvious one is comments/feedback. But also, if I’m writing for a tv show that’s currently airing or a movie I just watched, I get really into an idea and sort of write it in one go. Otherwise, sometimes a song jogs an idea. Pretty basic stuff.

48. What’s your favourite trope to write?

Enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, college setting, unexpected soulmates, Hogwarts AU. Basically any AU, honestly.

49. Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

Ugh, I searched for it for literally 30 minutes but couldn’t find it. I remember it was one of those Drarry fics with manipulative!Dumbledore fics where Tom Riddle is actually the good guy (I hate myself too). I remember Ron was evil too. Luna and Tom Riddle was a side-pairing, and I think they were really into BDSM. And Sirius/Lucius was a couple as well. Anyway, gonna set myself on fire.

Not to be debbie-downer, but I can see it as clear as a day how Pete is going to dedicate the whole season to just laurel and annalise. 1st half will be laurel finding out it was her father, 2nd half will be laurel avenging wes' death with annalise's help. The end. Pete be like, "who Connor? Who Coliver? Who Michaela?" And it infuriates me to no end >:C Hope I am wrong...

Hmmm I definitely fear that being the case but I really hope common sense prevails. Yes, Annalise lost Wes, but is it really worth her time pursuing Laurel’s dad? 9 episodes for Laurel to discover it’s her dad? I can’t see that working personally. It looked like she’d kinda figured it out at the end of S3... plus the fact WE know it’s Laurel’s dad makes me think they won’t focus too heavily on it. 

Plus a lot of the big cliffhangers in previous seasons have ended up being softballs the season after. We thought S2 was gonna be about who killed Rebecca - they covered it in 1 episode. We thought S3 was going to be all about who shot Mahoney - they covered it in 1 episode. 

I think having so few episodes kinda forces them to move the story forwards season to season, and yet another 15 episodes focusing on who killed Wes would kinda feel like a bit of a drag imo. There’s no real mystery to it. We know who did it. Just tell me why and move on. Although obviously there’s no stopping Pete with what he wants to do.

And there’s definitely other things they can cover. What’s going to happen to Annalise now - where will she live? How will she rebuild her reputation as a lawyer? Will she work as a professor again? I’m more interested in seeing the K4 rebuild their lives and their relationships with Annalise. Even as a shady outside “bad guy”, I really don’t find myself having all that much interest in Laurel’s dad as a character. There’s something kind of boring and predictable and.... done with the whole “rich, evil businessman” figure. I’d rather meet Connor and Michaela’s families instead. Give us someone new and fresh.
