Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body
"Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body" is a metaphor that emphasizes the importance of mental stimulation through reading. Just as physical exercise strengthens and conditions the body, reading exercises the mind, enhancing cognitive abilities, expanding knowledge, and fostering creativity. It highlights the idea that regular reading can improve mental agility, sharpen focus, and contribute to overall intellectual health, much like how consistent physical activity leads to better physical well-being. This saying encourages the practice of reading as a vital part of maintaining and nurturing a healthy, active mind.

Meditation is such a wonderful, helpful healing tool. Some say incorporating it into your day could "change your life". Believe it or not, just sitting quietly can be really hard for some of us. Here are some tips to help get your mind in the right space.
* use Mala beads.... a strand of these prayer beads are intended for you to focus your physical energy on so your mind may clear.
* try Walking Meditation.... quietly go for a walk; in nature or a place that brings you joy. As you walk, see the beauty and everything that makes up everything else. Or think over what's been on your mind
*Lastly a Tea Meditation during your favorite time of day is a wonderful way to tune in. As you make the tea, notice the aromas, colors, any feelings that may stir from the herbs. Drink it in all your senses without outside influence.

2004....it was coming down to the final hour of the art exhibit...all of the other artists began packing their things hours ago ...I waited, and stayed .... what did I have to lose by being patient, I asked myself.... at the very last minute of the festival, a woman walked into the exhibit area, and while the other tables had been broken down already, I handed her a magnet in my usual way and she bought a painting.... Maybe it was because I was the only artist left in the exhibit...Maybe it was because she actually liked my art..but I learned one of the greatest lessons in life. it ain't over until it's over #ReDesigningExcellence #CosmicYoga #adinkrayogastrategy #AlleyneMAGIC #AlleyneART #MSAART #ChicagoArtists #exerciseyourmind alleyneart.com https://www.instagram.com/p/B8CnuL1na31/?igshid=vu7bqs6z25xd

Hypnosis and exercise #tuesdaytransformation Most stress and anxiety rapidly disappears when the client can be persuaded to engage in proper and regular exercise. Exactly why exercise beneficially influences anxiety and stress in particular, no-one seems to know. However, the evidence is indisputable to the extent that it is generally accepted across therapeutic disciplines. In this way, an inducement to engage in proper exercise is a valuable addition to any hypnotherapy session intended to address such issues. The value lies here in the two-part nature of the hypnotherapy session. In the main part of the session the underlying cause for the stressed or anxious client is identified and dealt with whilst the second part of the session includes the suggestion that exercise be a fundamental and central part of the client’s daily regime. In this way, the client receives immediate release from the underlying stress/anxiety and is safeguarded from its return by the mental benefits accrued from daily exercise. All therapy, in the author’s opinion should aim for a healthy mind in a healthy body. By including hypnotic encouragement to exercise within any session designed to combat stress or anxiety, both of these aims can be achieved in a relatively short time. Good morning! “I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.” - Neil Gaiman
To learn new things we will make mistakes. We are human after all and are not perfect. When we learn new things we are also keeping our minds young. I think that our brains grow old when we stop trying to learn new things. So find things that you are interested in and start learning. I'm not talking about going to back to school, I'm saying pick something you want to learn about and read up on it. Give your mind something new to play with. You mind is like a muscle, if you don't use it you will lose it. I want to wish each of you three things for the coming year, Be Well, Be Safe, and Be Happy.
