Kingdom Hearts 3 - Rage Form
#kingdom hearts 3#kh3#sora#rage form#arendelle#formchange#my gif#rage form is so intriguing#sora still behaves in a wild animalistic fashion similar to his anti form but it's different#anti form felt as if he relinquished all self control and acted strictly on instinct just like a heartless#he used to run around hunched over on all fours and fight tooth and claw with reckless abandon#but here you can at least see SOME semblance of who he is. he's able to wield his keyblade while in this form which is pretty major#he still fights in an absolutely chaotic and primal manner but it feels evolved#the big difference is you call upon rage form at will. he channels his rage and darkness in a desperate last resort to stay alive#which is very significant but he still loses some control like the ability to use of magic; items; shotlocks; etc#it's cool to see darkness used in this way but i really want sora to able to explore themes of darkness within himself in future games#i want these to be more than cool forms with fun gameplay. i want them to have implications that something dark is brewing and needs to be-#brought to the surface and tackled head on because we've never seen anyone capable of cloaking themselves in darkness in such a way#take riku's dark form for example. he's in control and he's very much still himself. it's entirely different#on another note i'm now thinking about how hp is fully restored when activating rage form but you have the choice to give it up again-#when using risk charge. it'll increase attack damage but you're still walking a dangerous line in the pursuit of power

I love how the interview with the vampire trailer is sexy and mysterious and then the show is a borderline dark comedy about the retelling of vampire history's most cringe fail marriage between the worst case of catholic guilt and eldest daughter syndrome being romanced by a dumpster fire gremlin that thinks more with his heart and dick than his non-existent brain and the coolest character in the whole story is their murderous daughter

The Green knight is like. Its about honour. Its about regret. Its about fear. Its about courage. Its about shame. Its about the cyclical nature of the world. Its about mirrors and parallels. Its about your mom and you. Its about death and decay. Its about choices. Its about magic. Its about trying to avoid the unavoidable. Its about aging. Its about changes you aren’t ready for but have to go through anyways. Its about chances you wanted but were too scared to take. Its about gently kissing and caressing dev patels face. Its about expectations. Its about disappointing people. Its about how you look back at all the things you couldve done differently and forward to the things that may come. Its about the unyielding but loving power of nature and life. Its about being a person.

vent. sorry i’m honesty hangry and upset
actually i’m still annoyed. has anyone in this damn fandom heard of filtering tags. for shit. they don’t like
also like not to be ‘what about’ but seriously if your biggest problems are fucking shipping wars on tumblr dot com i envy you. truly.
#misc: personal text#also not to Make It Like That but like#a lot of the people i know who like making art about the legion and/or caecade and vulcade#are people of color as well. like do y’all not hear yourselves. asking racially marginalized people who have historically experienced#slavery/forced cultural assimilation#and a host of other issues#if they LIKE SLAVERY and APPROVE of it IN REAL LIFE#fiction can inform reality yes but truly? it is not that deep. some people like dark themes in fiction. be okay with it#i’m indigenous. much of the legion’s narrative is specifically anti-indigenous. i am *literally the product of genocide*#i still enjoy exploring stories with it. because i can choose to like things. or not like them.#some people like to explore unhealthy dynamics in fiction. that does not mean they approve of it.#and DO NOT come at me saying ‘wuh wuh wuh well that means you approve of csam and you’re a pro shipper’ or whatever the fuck people are#saying now. because that is NOT what i’m saying and it is not the same. and you damn well know that.#a piece of creative work does not have to always make you comfortable. i like exploring morally challenging narratives. i like nuance.#i like grey areas in my fiction.#does that mean i condone that irl? hell no#because i know what im about. i know my values. and they’re not necessarily reflected in my storytelling or art#personally i think that exploring horror and toxicity in fiction is a good way to build reading comprehension (once you’ve ‘built’#the thinking muscles for it).#honestly i’m just so so so so tired of this moral scare around always Liking The Right Things#and if you like the Wrong Things and Wrong Media that makes you Bad.#it’s fucking dumb#learn to filter out the shit you don’t like. you are allowed to not like things.

scott mccall x guts julia armfield
#scott mccall#teen wolf#usermem#this essay covers so much that is relevant to teen wolf#the theme of possession obviously touches on not just scott but also lydia/jackson/stiles/kira/mason#and the gendered violence was really good for lydia especially in my opinion#but i had to go with my boy scott! because!#what i was trying to gesture at with these quotes#and these poorly edited images#(WHY is tw so bad at light and HOW do people make gifs and edits look so beautiful seriously you're all so talented)#ahem anyway#the point is that scott's journey begins with the nightmare of the breached body#and then there's this thing inside him#and i thought about adding peter and gerard and deucalion and kate and theo#all of the people who try to possess him very literally#but what i really liked about this essay was the way it explored the innate monstrosity of your body#which the show explores through the lens of being a werewolf#there is something dark inside scott's body that wants out#and not just the weird black goo of werewolf healing!#to be a werewolf is to know something bad is going to happen#because you have a body because this is a horror movie#and it ties in too with scott's self harm#scott does harbor something inside him which wants to hurt him#and it's not just his own mortality or the raging supernatural beast he keeps on a leash#scott's body is forced to accommodate the inhuman when theo stabs him#but scott keeps the wound afterwards#and whatever is making him do that is something he harbors inside himself

Please understand that, more often than not, works of fiction are a fictional exploration of concepts and ideas rather than a declaration of morality

the main problem I've had with trying to do 'your PC as other races' art is that when other people have done it, including ryoko kui's changeling comparisons, they always keep the character's original palette-- and that ends up being an immediate stumbling block for me when the first place I'd be inclined to start is with Elyss, whose main point of difference from an ordinary human is that she is green
#and with elyss like-- okay being an ordinary human would affect not only her bone structure and skin but even her eye color#because it's a pretty-close-to-natural sort of lavender grey BUT I already know human!elyss would have brown eyes#so does 'racebend your blorbo' human!elyss also look like theoretically canon human!elyss who looks like her mom?#in that case what about halfelf or gnome elyss-- am I basing those on human elyss or on canon elyss?#because elyss' light eyes are specifically part of her Water Themed Palette--#-- but light eyes with dark skin and hair are really common naturally for gnomes and elves where they're more rare in humans#AND you start to run into the problem of 'here's a gnome with gnomish features and also a different palette' does it even look like her??#and if I have to take 'what would be normal for this humanoid' into account for elyss whose race is such an unusual case--#-- it gets me into the weeds with like... well specifically melliwyk who has dark skin white hair and bright turquoise eyes#that's not going to occur naturally in ANY other race except MAYBE a very unusual elf but like...#okay so do I just keep her palette anyway? but that feels kind of weird compared to how I have to handle elyss??#ALSO I honestly feel like 'how does the hair color and texture translate' is just as valid as ear shape and bone structure for exploring--#-- the different morphologies of dnd races- and just as interesting to me- but you run into the 'are they still recognizable' issue again#TL;DR MY BIG PROBLEM IS OVERTHINKING IT AS ALWAYS#about me#my OCs#elyss#melliwyk

I used to be very into hazbin and helluva boss but atp idec enough to think about anything but the racism but what I WILL say is that the reason fans are getting mixed signals between the actions and the characters is that viv doesn’t know how to balance seriousness and playfulness, she has a fundamental misunderstanding of how class and race impacts people on a societal and personal scale, and she thinks showing these characters exist is enough activism which allows her to avoid putting effort into the stories of anyone who’s not a white male and getting applauded by her 14 yr old yt fans

The worst part about NOT reading your NoTP's fanfiction (especially if you are a lover of reading fiction) is the amount of good stories you miss out on!!!!!!!!!
Like i am a big IchiHime (Bleach), Harrymione (HP) and Pearlshipping/Amourshipping (Pokemon) fan which meant I was missing out on seriously good FF on Ulquihime, IchiRuki, Romione/Hinny/Dramione, and other Ash ships.
Like do I believe my faves are super OOC in my NoTP fics? Yes.
Do I dislike the idea of NoTP ending together? Also Yes.
But do I believe that the NoTP fic I just begrudgingly read has potential to be an amazing standalone story, and that'd be the most brilliant read had the names been changed? ABSO-FUCKI-LUTELY YES.

I find people who insist you can't tell when something is an actual exploration of a dark topic vs fetish material deeply annoying because like
If you have good reading comprehension. You usually can tell. People aren't nearly as slick/clever about it as they think they are, especially within fandom spaces

i keep getting so tempted to talk about the exploration of toxicity and abuse in fiction and how it can be a genuine recommendation from therapists to help you heal and talk about your experiences while othering yourself, and how if you do it online you're going to make people uncomfortable and you will be judged, so you need to learn how to balance these things, to do what you want to do for yourself while also being mindful of those around you.
but then i remember how disasterous this conversation is whenever it seems to be brought up and i change my mind

Not to get controversial on main or whatever but while yes, I do generally believe that people should be able to ship whatever the hell they want and not get harassed, I will still never call my self a proshipper. Like sorry man I'm not associating myself with a bunch of people who chant "Kill the cop inside your head!" with zero irony, take over POCD spaces with their fucking discourse, refuse to listen to victims of sexual assault/incest, and turn their heads at every shred of evidence that no actually, fiction can in fact affect reality. Like yeah don't get me wrong I've heard my fair share of stories of antishippers doing kind of shitty things, but I'd rather align myself with supposed "puriteens" than a group of immature people who chant that "they get off from the haterz bc degration kink!!1!!!111!!" over actually responding to criticism.
