I just thought I’d drop in to share that my villain origin story was ~10 years ago I had this wild dream that I rigged a beauty pageant and stole the crown just to go rob a giant department store after 💀 and.. Squalo was there, he was my husband? and he asked me to steal pick him up a new coat while I was at the shops and then basically went “k congrats on the trophy b see ya later”

he’s revisited me a few times in my dreams since, but my favourite had to be this one dream where he was wearing the new fur coat and we were attending a ball 😅 and it was fine until the whole building started kabooming (I could go into detail about how but it would be like a poorly described director’s cut inception-esque shitty action movie)

My dreams tend to be really entertaining and ridiculous whenever I remember them, and I love when my brain just sprinkles in the squalo husband subplot 🤤 another really cute moment was when he was sooo annoyed about me taking my hoodie off to check the tag, because I only had a sports bra or something underneath and he was so grumbly and standing in front of me to cover my shameless ass from the view of the public 🧍🏻‍♂️ SO CLEARLY my subconscious mind is not letting me cease my simping for this fictional character I hope my husband visits me again soon🫡

Admin Says: Okay, first off, noooo thank you for coming into the space and sharing this because it is wild, hilarious, amazing, and cute all at the same time and I loved it so, so much! And thank you for the well wishes for work. It's hectic - the walk-in clinic operates out of the same building our pharmacy does and they just extended their hours, and where it's nearly impossible to get a family doctor around here, a lot of people use it and then come get their scripts filled with us and of course nobody wants to come back to pick up and they won't understand why we can't just do their prescriptions right away…anyway, nope, no venting about work! I have just so many questions on this and I feel it could legit be made into a movie and audiences would flock to watch it. Though this…this is a villain origin story I could get behind. One, beauty pageant crowns deserve to be stolen and that whole system is already rigged beyond belief so I fully support dream you in getting in there and making mischief! Was the crown necessary to rob the bank? Or was it just a case of…well, I committed this crime, let's see what other ones I can pull off? I love husband Squalo just being chill about it too and just being like 'need a new coat, can you grab me one with all that stolen cash, oh and your crown is fucking minty and you look good, babe'. Also, totally agree with your mind on the fact that Squalo definitely seems like the fur coat kind of person.

Also….I love the dream about the ball and you and Squalo attending it when shit just starts to blow up. Begs the question why everything started to go kaboom? Was it random or were you guys behind it? Did the pagentry theivery and robbing a bank kick off a grand run of you and Squalo going Bonnie and Clyde on everyone?? The world needs to know hahaha!!!

But seriously, you and Squalo are so cute in all your dreams and I love it so much. Fun fact, but your dream husband is my fictional found family in KHR and the one who walks me down the aisle in anything wedding related in my mind so like…I just support that man having an amazing spouse like you!!

For me, it's almost anything Billy Idol. He's punk rock, so his genre reminds me of something my f/o would listen to. He is so much more curious than in the show (complete opposite) and thirsts for knowledge and stories, idealistic and intellectual, sweet and caring, romantic, forgiving (sometimes too much so), passionate in his own way- Gah I could go on and on!!! Books: He tends to be insufferably whiny (but I still love him so much lol)😅 He is a pretty terrible companion to Lestat and even turns the latter away when he needs him most a few times (keep in mind things like The Drop happened differently in the novels), he does eventually realize that he kinda sucks,and tries to make amends though,so bonus points.

Show: He's a bit more easily manipulated on the show in certain ways. Armand definitely didn't have to work as hard. At least give the poor guy a challenge; All I could think was "Honey, who are you?! Lestat?! Those braincells might be imbalanced and mentally ill but you do have them,so use them!!"😅

I’m glad I’m not alone in the absolute anxiety a public wedding would cause! As someone who’s very self-conscious and also stumbles on their words (and feet) a lot… I’d rather not even think about it;;

Gosh, the wedding and the way you described Reborn staying by my (very anxious) side the whole time is so adorable 😭. Also, plenty of wedding gifts is always a bonus, haha. And yes, a quiet pre-honeymoon would be so nice and much needed as a post-wedding de-stressor. Reborn really gives me the vibes of someone who would take an extra long honeymoon.

Tattoo rings are such a good idea if you have a really hands-on job, I can’t believe that’s never crossed my mind before. Aww, thank you! Prays and thoughts might be all that gets me through. I love my job, really do, but hate the peopling aspect of it because sometimes people be wild and it's one of those days where you wonder if a full moon is happening tonight or something. And yep, 'well, that's a problem for tomorrow Dee' is something I think ALOT. I really should start solving problems as today me but mehhhh, it'll be cool, it's all good lol.

I like to think there are probably more introverts out there who freeze up at those kind of things than we are led to think or believe, especially since huge, fancy, big weddings full of pageantry and theatrics really are still held as the norm and the gold standard, at least where I live and on a lot of the media I've seen through my life. I think small civil ceremonies and parties afterwards, or even just small civil ceremonies period, should be stuff that is heavily normalized but that's just me.

I just could not picture it any other way. Reborn lives for the drama and theatrics, and has no shame in drinking in all the attention. He adores those kinds of things, honestly, in some way or he's learned to over the years because that really is a part of his personality when we meet him in manga. However, he's pretty quick to read who people are, accept them for who they are and the potential they have. So he would definitely know that you hate being the center of attention, that you don't do well with all these people and the noise and everything. If his presence makes you calmer, and he can take the weight off you by bringing all the attention and conversation largely onto him, it's nothing for him and he gets the added benefit of soaking in your company for every minute of the wedding party. And oh my gosh, yes! Reborn would definitely want to take as long a honeymoon as he possibly could and I could even see him holding off on the wedding until he'd largely finished all major responsibilities just so he could do that. I mean, if it's going to happen, he wants to do the wedding and honeymoon right because those are things that will only happen once in his life.

It's no trouble at all! I next to never get the opportunity to really fangirl and share my own self-indulgent self-shipping ideas so I can definitely do that. However, I'll hide it under a cut for anyone who's just here for the requests and really doesn't care to see this!

So, as far as fictional other weddings I've either daydreamed about or had actual dreams about, it's so bizarre because they really run the gamut. When I'm thinking Byakuran, for example, I have this whole thing where we're on this Mafia related trip to Vegas and, of course, Byakuran can't be in Vegas without sightseeing and really getting into everything. And somehow we get drunk and despite marriage never having really come up, we end up in one of those Vegas chapels where we get married by an Elvis impersonator. With other fictional others I have, like Vanderwood or Harr, it's much more my typical style where it's just very much a simple civil ceremony, just us, the officiant, and one witness (in Vanderwood's case, Saeyoung, and in Harr's, Loki). We don't have a big party afterwards, don't announce it or make a big to-do of it, we just are married and the only way people notice is if they notice one of us wearing a wedding band all of a sudden. If I'm thinking of actual weddings, with the wide range of fictional others I have, it can go anywhere from small weddings set in someone's backyard or a field, very simple and quaint, to full blown huge events with a church, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and a whole reception and several changes of outfits and a huge party made out of it.

With the dream I had with Skull, because I can see him really understanding and resonating with my love for the more unconventional, I was given a little more free rein to do up something I could enjoy and because dream me is apparently much more okay with attention than real life me, it was a fairly big thing. First off, we got married on Halloween and everyone initially thought they were coming to this big, all-day Halloween event. So while they arrive in their regular clothes, they all brought costumes with them as instructed. Anyway, they're all told to arrive at this great big converted barn and when they get there, they find an initial note that leads them on a big scavenger hunt and race to find this clearing in a great big old forest where our wedding ceremony is all laid out. Chairs are set up, the altar's set up, the officiant is standing up there and checking off names as people arrive.

When people arrive, they're all told to take their seats and wait for the others to arrive. There's a table off to the side with bottled water and other beverages and light snacks that they can munch on while they talk to each other and wonder what's going on. It's only when everyone shows up that me and Skull get notified that the ceremony is set to start. Squalo is the only one other than us and Reborn, who was the officiant, to know what was going on. So Skull gets up there and people start to clue in to what's going on, then the music starts and Squalo asks me if I'm sure about this. And I am…so Squalo walks me down the aisle. Instead of the bride in white, I wear a black dress and it was definitely kind of inspired by some pretty dresses I'd seen earlier that day, because it looked a lot like this.

Our vows are written by ourselves and the actual ceremony of getting married is combination handfasting and signing the legal paperwork. And instead of the traditional 'and you may now kiss the bride', Reborn says 'and now the tattoo artists may come up' and we get our matching bands tattooed on us.

After that, everyone, including a few of you lovelies with faces I have given you in my head, heads on back to the converted barn where we all change into our costumes and have the most amazing Halloween/wedding party. Oingo Boingo played our wedding in my dream and that was wild, just saying.

Since our wedding was yesterday I'll talk about my lovely wife!!

Jaheira is just. So pretty. Gorgeous. Her smile, her hair, her wrinkles, her voice... She's so strong too. With every loss she's faced, she powers on, and when she fights it's... Wow. She's kind and loving and protective and I know I can trust her with my life. She cares so damn much and I am so so so happy she's my wife. I adore her so much.

Gardenia (Are you and your F/O married? If not, are there plans to be married in the future?): Yes we are! His proposal came as the most spur-of-the-moment thing after we had stopped the rampage of a strange mechanical dragon from completely destroying the city in the desert we lived in, but god, I'd say yes to him a thousand times over and over again.

Blue Thistle (What do/did you and your F/O wear at your wedding? Feel free to provide pictures of wedding attire you would wear!): This was my dress! <3

Water Lily (Do you or your F/O cry at your wedding?): I ALMOST do. I'll be honest, being married was something I never thought I'd get to experience, but when you meet and find someone who you love more than almost the very air in your lungs? Someone who would follow you to the ends of the earth because you mean the world to them? It's like a dream. I'm certain I nearly had one single tear threaten to fall down my face, but Mishra brushed it away with one gentle swipe of his thumb, and that was all I needed.

Anemone (Is your wedding extravagant or small and quaint? Do you have lots of guests or just a few close friends?): My friend, our wedding was the most grand ceremony that had been seen on the entire west side of Terisiare. The entirety of the Fallaji population was there- seeing as Mishra was the personal Raki, or Wizard, to the current ruler and King of the desert tribe, and I his top artificer, he personally went out of his way to ensure the ceremony was as beautiful, lively, and memorable as possible.

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying the most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

The Eclipse (Fri YT) Ep 1 of 15 - Oh it’s good. BL does Blacklist with a good boy/bad boy pairing (paladin/rogue). F&K have great chemistry right off the bat. And it’s so nice to have GMMTV’s production values on 2 BLs, even if they flipped the levels on the music/dialogue tracks in this ep (qua?). Did you SEE what was inside the cursed flower pot? A baby cactus! 

Vice Versa (Sat on YT) Ep 5 of 12 - Gun appearing as Third was very meta of you GMMTV. I see what you did there. Ooo. Cohabitation trope! I was wondering about the pacing with this one, but they have self corrected with a new core trope. Nice. *sits up, pays attention* It’s engaging and never drags, gotta give them that. 

21 Days Theory (Sun YT ) Ep 1 of 8 - I am loving this high school Love Sick revisit, BLUE SHORTS in spades. Yay! 

Coffee Melody (Mon Viki) Ep 4 of 10 - Well, that relationship moved into the sack quickly. I like it, it seems sort of mature and normal than most BL. They are cute and smiley and sweet together. I also think this BL is honestly dealling with mutually hurt. Pleng Ruk says it’s too soon. But also he doesn’t get to act like a boyfriend if he isn’t one. Duen Yi only wants what he wants and isn’t thinking about the consequences. On a different note: The pink hair thing is hilarious: we can see which days different recordings were done and which ones were pickups by how faded the pink is and roots showing. I’m still skipping all of the band stuff which means I’m only watching about half of the show, just the cafe bits. So maybe you shouldn’t take my opinions to heart. But then you should never take my opinions to heart.

Love Mechanics (Sun WeTV) Ep 8 of 10 - I like the insight into Mark‘s home life. That sullen iciness comes from Daddy. I like Mark’s ex-boyfriend too, but then I liked him in the original. I like how miserable Vee got. Yin & War are terrific little actors. It’s hard not to get mad at the messy, but when it’s performed this good, it’s fun to wallow in mutual agony. 

Unforgotten Night (Weds on GaGa) Ep 8 of 12 Neither as bad nor as good as it could be. Shrug. TRASH WATCH IS HERE!

Check Out (Sat IQIYI) Ep 10 of 12 - Honestly the leads are a good pair. I’m sad they didn't get a better script. It’s Tuxedo all over again. But I LOVED that they gave Tee a new boy!

My Secret Love (Sat YT) Ep 11 of 12 - The domesticity with the side couples is really engaging, sex scenes were descent, but that’s it. However there was a probubly verse couple. The main couple is a little better after the time jump, mostly because Mek in now understandably arrogant. I guess. 

My Only 12% (Fri iQIYI) Ep 1 of 15 - It’s a pretty classic friends to lovers jock/nerd set up with neighbors & codependency to get us started and high school. I am actually MIR mixed with Bad Buddy (same author) vibes from this. I like it, Santa & Earth do great at this character dynamic. Seeing Peak back in shorts is a TRIP. Also we’re starting to get that thing where an actor will be in multiple BL‘s airing at the same time (waves at Benz). Also a trip. Awe PREM! I didn’t know he was in this. Wabi Sabi bringing out the BIG GUNS.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Minato Shouji Coin Laundry (Japan Weds GaGa) Ep 7 of 12 I keep saying next week is gonna hurt, but I’m not saying that this time because they keep delaying the crisis point. Not that the pacing is off, it’s keeping me intersted, just that Japan is too unpredictable. Especially when handed and unprecedented 12 eps. But Shin did finally turn 18 and make his intentions crystal clear. - SQUEE WATCH ALONG  

Papa & Daddy 2 (Mon GaGa) Ep 1-2 of 8 - Honestly I didn’t expect to like this. I don’t have a good history with 2nd seasons, and Taiwan really likes to make a soap opera out of their queers. Witness that this one starts with a secret baby trope. (Or in this case a secret teenage son trope?) There’s a lot of lying to each other and evil parents. (Why are parent characters always so terrible in Chinese dramas?) And of course I already have a crush on the pining chef - 2nd lead syndrome strikes again. Who wouldn’t? I like the new actor playing Jerry (he reminds me of Nunew from Cutie Pie) but his chemistry with his co-star isn’t as good. I LOVE THE DOMESTICITY. 

Want to See You (Vietnam YT) Ep 12 - Vietnam is doing time jumps in later eps now? Everyone just stop it! Also this is an interesting way to enact the amnesia trope, but it’s still the amnesia trope! This turned out not to be the final ep, who knows what will be? Frankly they handled the time jump OK, it’s nice to see the characters having changed and matured (or not) and how this reflects on each other. Still I am mostly annoyed but the tropes. 

Senpai, Danjite Koidewa! (Japan Fri Viki) Ep 8fin - It was cute in the very end, and all about courage. Kaneda’s mainly. But Japan’s weird hang-up around physical expressions of affection in BL which I expect in their slapstick high school stuff, feels cowardly here. They don't leave out end kisses in their het office romances anymore, time to stop desexualizing the gays, too. For a plot about courage, it’s a bummer that the narrative itself didn’t have any. I can’t imagine ever watching this show again or remembering its existence. When Japan drops the balls they drop all the way to the bottom of the well. 6/10 NOT REALLY RECOMMENDED 

Lots of rings exchanged this week. Most form the worst possible, least communicating couples. I would like to remind everyone that marriage is not a way to “fix it to a bad relationship,” it just makes everything worse. Like children.

Work From Heart a Thai BL from DV8 for WeTV starts Aug 25 trailer here. An office romcom featuring lots of other couples, starring Love With Benefits pair Gameplay & Folk.

Japan bringing us More Than Words, 10 eps for Amazon Prime JP Sept 16,  no trailer, no word on international distribution, premiere on adaptation of Etsuko’s two mangas "In The Apartment" and "More Than Words", starring Ryōko Fujino (Fujoshi, Ukkari Gei ni Kokuru), Yuzu Aoki (Kakafukaka), Daisuke Nakagawa (Colorful Love), and Daiki Kanechika (EXIT comedian). 

Honestly my money was on Viki winning his one, but happy to see it’s going to GaGa! Takara-kun and Amagi-kun from the same studio as Mr Unlucky and Senpai, so expect that style. A popular guy and an outcast boy start dating in secret. Stars Jpop Idols Arata Sato (IMPACTors) and Nao Oriyama (Shonen Ninja).

Thai y-novel by Prang “2 Worlds” is getting an adaptation. 

GMMTV is bring us something they didn’t announce at the beginning of the year, Oishi Magic Of Zero, starring EarthMix. They are play the same roles (Win & Korn) as in Cupid's Last Wish, to start (drop?) Sept 25 on YouTube! So this might just be a special or....? This is a sponsored series of one shot specials/adverts featuring exiting characters like Our Skyy. The first one was InkPa from Bad Buddy. Which I have yet to watch. (see comments) 

Strongberry (our favorite production house from Korea) officially introduced 3 actors (fresh faces) for their upcoming FULL LENGTH romcom BL  “#사랑은댕냥댕냥” basically “love is dang dang dang” but roughly means Love is Love actually means “love is a cat and a dog.” (see ask in feed) Guess at run time is 1.5hr, so normal KBL length. Still casting final lead. About a boy who lives alone after losing his parents who works part-time in his Uncle's shop. One day, 2 strangers appearing claiming they are reincarnations of his childhood pets (a cat and a a dog).

Korea’s Able Casting Agency posted an actor search for a character for an upcoming BL Two Game Over. That’s the first we’ve all heard of it. 

Korea is ALL in on that A Shoulder To Cry On BL starring two members of the same group, OMEGA X (Jaehan & Yechan). Why? Well its schedueld to release mid Sept AND OMEGA X with sing the OST. Ho boy.

Starting & Ending: Tomorrow, Monday Aug 15th, 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us (trailer) on GaGa. But I’m not sure it’s BL. Takara-kun and Amagi-kun starts on GaGa this Friday. Love in the Air Mame’s next offering via Me Mindy is supposed to start on the 19th on YT. Unless it whips into a verbal frenzy, I won’t do a trash watch (I already have 2 going right now). Love Mechanics & My Secret Love both end. Thank fuck. 

This week’s best moments?

Why did no one tell me the side couple in Oh My Sunshine features the actor who played Bbomb in Nitiman? Now I may have to watch for them. Grumble. I blame all ya’all. 

Well that side couple came out of nowhere! But still YAY Check Out, we like it.
