the lambkid flag belongs to fabledlands, bunnykid belongs to closedcaskets, swan- and doekid belong to doelike. doelike was the one to coin this system, actually! if you're going to steal terms at least have the decency to be honest about it.

This ask is from earlier in the entire debacle but I love the implication that we’re not being honest about the fact that we weren’t honest about it. Every single post says that we do this, it’s in the blog title and pinned post.

My solo-gaming queue has extended yet again. :o This is Book 7 of the Fabled Lands series, The Serpent King's Domain by Paul Gresty (printed on demand by Amazon). These game books are divided by geographical area - when you head to the edge that book's map you are given the option to turn back or go to one of the other books (turn to a specific section). I think I died at sea a couple of times in the first three books, as well as the usual death by spell or combat - naturally if I had enough shards (the gamebook's currency) I could have bought a blessing which prevents storms. I lost my trading stock as well. You stumble about, sometimes fulfilling tasks and quests, and at other times making money from opportunities. It's superior to a hewcrawl, since areas contain mini-scenarios, outcomes of which are recorded as keywords which can affect your reception or insight in new locations. The keywords are a simple "memory" system for the books, as well as the customary adventure (character) sheets with stats, equipment and clues. I really like this series, I just wish I lived long enough to be able to travel the furthest corners of this fantasy world. Another "win" is that it is illustrated by the mighty Russ Nicholsson. The woman's hood bobbed once in a greeting to the man before trotting over to him, her body moving in a weird fashion. The brunette quickly found out why as she glimpsed a paw, a metal, most likely gold covered it and the top of four sharpened claws
