He's talking about the Master, right. He's telling the Doctor that he's not alone. That the Master is still there for him.

(I mean, he could be talking about Gallifrey and the Time Lords not being dead, but I think it's more probable that he's talking about the Master. Since we're in season 3 and the Time Lords are nowhere, while the Master does appear at the end of the season.)

He's telling the Doctor that he has hope. He doesn't have to be alone. He's not the last of his kind. He doesn't have to carry alone the memories and the grief. He has someone he could rely on, someone who understands.

He's trying to reassure the Doctor, calm him, that he's not alone. That the Master is still there for him.

He knows how important this is for the Doctor. How important that he's not alone. That he still has the Master. I-

SPOILERS for children of the earth episode 4.

Watching torchwood for the first time as a girl who grew up watching Sarah Jane adventures and doctor who. I am distraught, one minute I'm buying cute lil pin stripe suits and blouses off vinted to show my love of ianto and then the next minute he's on the ground and I'm like in shock, and y'all know the worst thing? Ianto begging jack not to forget him and telling him that in a thousand years jack will have forgotten him just for the face of boe to die saving people from dying the same way ianto did 5 billion years later. This take isn't new or fresh but as someone who fears being forgotten the imagery of ianto staying with jack for the rest of his life was heartbreaking and I will not be forgiving any of the torchwood writers for a good long while for how attached they made me to a fictional character.

I’m rewatching DW again and my favourite tidbit is season one where Nine and Rose go to Satellite Five for the first time (S01.EP07) and they just casually mention the Face of Boe being pregnant and having a baby

and then they just never mention it again?? I wanna know what fuckshittery Jack was up to as Boe. Who impregnated him? Where’s the child? RTD i need answers

The Face of Boe and why I don't think he dies in New New York.

Throughout the events of Doctor Who and Torchwood(at least until COE), we see Jack give his life-force on four occasions. Day One Cyberwoman, End Of Days, and Gridlock.

In Day One, he gives up a small amount of his energy via kiss. In Cyberwoman, we see him do the same thing to bring Ianto back from either death or unconsciousness. There's always been an issue surrounding him having a split lip at the end of the episode, but to me it's always been obvious that losing that small amount of his life energy delayed his healing.

That is only further backed up in End Of Days, when having his life energy drained causes him to remain dead for a number of days. I don't know if a number is stated for how many days he's out, but for arguments sake let's say four.

The next time we see him giving his energy, it's to power New New York for twenty four years, after which he dies. Now, if being drained by Abbadon for under a minute leaves him dead for four days, how long would twenty four years of being drained leave him dead?

Well, the answer is roughly ninety six years.

So yes, Boe does die. For nearly a century. But when the only word we have is the Doctor, who has a track record of leaving Jack behind and has been told they never meet again, and Hame, who has no real clue as to the nature of her master, who's to say that it was his final death? To me, all evidence points towards him being able to come back.

And yes, this ties into my larger Boe theories regarding how he got to be like that, but that's a post for another day.
