creatures have found their targets...
false ingo and false emmet are twins, or seem to act like twins, despite being nothing alike.
false ingo is seen doll-like but staring into his many eyes causes paralysis and vivid hallucinations. false emmet is the only one not effected by the eyes.
false emmet is a mechanical animatronic with limbs that can extend up to 10 times its original length. there is a compartment in his chest that false ingo can be stored into during travel.

New Submas AU Idea - False Narrative AU
In this AU, Ingo gets punted back into his original life. Hooray! However, it turns out that he was in another universe rather than the past. Therefore, while the Sinnoh region exists, Hisui was not a part of his world's history. So, while everyone agrees that something happened to Ingo and he was obviously somewhere, they don't necessarily believe his tales about the Pearl and Diamond clans, noble pokemon, or anything else.
Maybe Looker believes Ingo if he's there.
I believe that there is great angst potential in Ingo being doubted.
Then the AU could go anywhere! Maybe Ingo starts doubting his own memories. Maybe he publishes his memoirs as fiction. Maybe a space-time rift opens up and Lady Sneasler falls on his head. Who knows!
(If Ingo were to ever be returned to his original time in canon, I have no doubt that people would believe him as the Pokemon universe is already so god-damned weird.)

Run, run dear reader.
You ran as fast as you can. Now you may start asking questions like— Why are you running? Who is chasing you? What is going on?
Well.
To answer your question.
You stole a man's wallet.
No. No! Don't you dare ask question on that one! Remember, our dear Y/N over there is homeless.
So don't blame the poor child. Okay?
Now back to our poor reader.
You pushed some people away and mutter an apology when you heard them cursed under their breath.
You can hear the man shouted at you from behind. You needed him to be lost. Lost in a sea of crowded people, or find something that you can hide. Through slitted rectangle holes on your box mask, you saw a black hat and a conductor clothing. It's Ingo. Shouldn't Emmet be with ingo? That's rare.
A light bulb appeared on top of your head as you suddenly have an idea to make the man lose a sight on you.
You quickly ran up to Ingo and harshly tug on his long coat in a hurry manner catching his attention, Ingo looked down at you as he raised his brow.
"Is something the matter, child?" He noticed your panicked movements as you then suddenly grab his long coat, opening it wide and hides inside.
A man came to him and asked frantically if he saw a kid with a box on their head. Realizing your situation, he lied to the man by saying "They went that way." And pointed to the wrong direction. The man thanked him and quickly walked away in the false direction.
As soon as the man was gone, you came out of your hiding spot. "Who was that?" Ingo asked as he adjusted his hat a bit, his eyes hardened and his brow furrowed but not at you, It's actually to the man. What did he want from you? He wanted to asked you but prefer not to.
You looked at him in the eyes and shrugged innocently. As if you didn't steal the man's wallet....
He was about to ask you once more but you caught him off by giving him a quick hug to his side before darting away from Ingo. Is someone after you? He thought to himself.
". . . . ."
He will have to report this to Emmet about you.

AAAAA im thinking about Ingo in Legends Arceus again. They really fucking did that. Im so insane about it, like-
Okay. So. You have this preestablished thing in Pokémon called Fallers. Basically its people who fell into the pokemon world from an entirely different universe. Sometimes theyre alternate versions of known characters. The one thing they all have in common is that they remember nothing from before they fell.
With me so far? Good.
Now we move onto Legends Arceus. Here we are, some hundred or so years in the distant past, exploring the wonderful land of Hisui when, hold on, is that Ingo? The train man? You're in the wrong time period, my guy! And what's that? His memory's gone? Damn that sucks, alt-Ingo got a real shitty deal when he Fell. Trains haven't even been invented yet smh.
Anyway, case closed. Just another Faller making the best of what they have. Cool, but nothing new, lets move on right?
Except. Maybe not.
You see, this "Hisui" region has a little bit more going on with it. Its actually the ancient version of the modern day Sinnoh region, and theres all kinds of fun little details tying the two together: location names, area themes, little nods to Sinnoh myths and pokedex entries, the whole nine yards. Huge gen 4 nostalgia trip. Theres even a bunch of characters that are just blatantly ancestors of important DPPt characters. And you betcha the pokemon match as well!
Yeah, thats cool, but what does this have to do with Ingo again? Weelll, turns out, two of those gen 4 pokemon makin a comeback just so happen to be the gods of time and space. And things have gone a bit fucky with them.
There are these things called "space-time distortions" going around, popping up all over the place, sitting there lookin like big, spooky soap bubbles, and spitting out objects and pokemon from all over the timeline. We're talking dinosaurs and data viruses. Because of these things, Porygons technically existed before the computers that birthed them. And while its never explicitly stated that they're how Ingo got there, how else do you suppose the New Yorker ended up in feudal Japan?
"Alright, that makes sense, but didn't you say he lost his memory? Isn't that kinda a whole thing with fallers?"
Oh yeah, right, thanks for catching that! I guess this was a bust after all. Time travel's not exactly new to the pokemon universe, and it doesn't usually cause memory loss, barring extenuating circumstances. (Ingo didn't turn into a pokemon, so I think we're safe on that front) This isn't even the first time Dialga's gone mad, actually! He must really be a Faller then. I mean, what are the odds that Ingo just tripped into a random space-time distortion, only to run into something entirely unrelated that just so happens to be well known for erasing memories, perfectly replicating the symptoms of a Faller?
Buckle up, this is where things get interesting.
So, when Ingo faceplanted in Hisui, he got picked up by this group called the Pearl Clan. They're this native tribe that worships Palkia, but like, under the wrong name, and they think Dialga's a false version of their god worshipped by these other natives, and they're actually kind of both right, except not, because they thought the were actually worshipping the creator god, Arceus, and it's this WHOLE thing. That's not important. What matters is that they picked up Ingo. Just. Remember that. Pearl grabbed Ingo.
Now, aside from the two big gods and their good ol' poppa Arceus, there's actually another trio of minor gods who took care of smaller business. Relatively. They like to rest at the bottom of three lakes spread around the region, and each one represents a certain gift they were said to have given to the world: Uxie, God of Knowledge; Mesprit, God of Emotion; Azelf, God of Willpower. When Arcues made them, the went out, did their thing, gave their gift, then went straight to bed in their lakes, where they stayed for... pretty much ever. Yeah, these guys are actually pretty chill. Apparently theyre tied for highest base friendship out of all pokemon?
Getting back to the Pearl clan, their camp in the Alabaster Icelands is actually pretty close to Lake Acuity! Way closer than any other settlements are to the lakes, at least.
I know what you're thinking: "What does ANY of this have to do with Ingo's memories??" Well, there's one more thing we need to cover about the lake trio. Y'see, there's this little myth about them, hidden away on a shelf in the back of modern day Canalave library. As calm and relaxed as they usually are, its easy to forget that they're still gods. Powerful gods. Direct decendants of Arcues themself, embodiments of the very gifts which they gave unto the world. The myth goes that, should someone be foolish enough to raise their hand against the lake gaurdians, they would quickly find that those gifts can be taken away.
Harm Azelf, and find yourself as still as stone, drained of even the willpower needed to move. Touch Mesprit, and find yourself in a pointless world, drained of all emotions, joyless and empty.
…Look into Uxie's eyes, and find yourself lost and confused, fallen into a world unknown, without even the knowledge to find your way back to a home you can't remember.
...Yeah
Hisui is plaqued by Distortion, ripping creatures out of their proper Time and Space. Uxie makes their home at the bottom of Lake Acuity, just outside where the Pearl Clan makes camp. The Pearls found Ingo alone, no memory of his past, no evidence of how he came to them.
So you see now. How I might be a little obsessed.
Oh, are you still wondering if he's actually a Faller or not? Well…
I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA!
This was the first game he appeared in since Black and White 2, and he hasn't been mentioned since! His story is never expanded on!!!
He's probably? not??? Unless he fell out of an ultra wormwhole and into a distortion?? And the ultra beasts couldn't find him??? They literally NEVER hint at a possible cause for his arrival in game, I think. We're just. Left. With this.
What the fuck.

I had this AU archived off my accounts for a few years, but I'm thinking about it a lot more these days so I'm digging it up for sketches.
This is Kudari from Codebreaker, functionally the starting antagonist for the story when Emmet accidentally collides with him and takes parts of his body.
For a little debrief, the main idea of Codebreaker is that Emmet discovers that he exists in a false reality, and that there is a parallel plane where all of the instructions for his reality exist. He finds his way to this plane by accident after walking back from another lonely day at work, and is hellbent on learning how to manipulate it in the hopes that he can recover Ingo with that knowledge. Kudari is his own set of instructions, who he partly dismantles, allowing him to actually interact with the code. This leaves a hollowed out shell that starts trying to find his own way to get his body back from Emmet.
I'd been thinking about the Beta Submas leaks which lead me to sketching him again. Here's the first rough warmup sketch I did with a fight between him and Emmet.
From there I just started reworking his old design to be worse 💀
Let me know if you guys want more of this freak, he's honestly really fun to sketch.
#submas#submas au#au#emmet#subway master emmet#emmet pokemon#kudari#tw body horror#The armband says“ 駅長”‚ Station Master#If you're wondering about the ribs and spine‚ when Emmet first ran into Kudari it initiated a battle that he couldn't fight in#his pokeballs went dead and the mechanism couldn't open‚ and since Kudari was only speaking the scripted lines and not acknowledging him#he panicked and hit him across the face to disengage#When he fell motionless to the floor‚ he went to go check his vitals/run cpr but every touch was making him dissolve so he freaked out#and ran out of the subway‚ leaving Kudari without a good chunk of his body#Since his instructions were scrambled‚ Emmet gained the ability to see and modify code using Kudari's eyes and mouth#Kudari gained free will‚ no longer having every action decided for him‚ which was immediately exercised to hunt down Emmet for his body#There's more but if it wasn't apparent I'm not a fan of talking about this story 💀 it had several comics and information posts planned#but none were released after the initial 2. There's more rat lore behind why I shut it down but maybe another time#If you want to see this AU‚ the old posts are available on instagram. It's outdated and not great‚ but it can give some background

Submas fanfic idea I want to share but am too lazy to write right now.
The Mad King of Unova!
(Prepare for an essay, I said I’m lazy, but also… yeah sorry)
I’ve only ever played Legends Arceus, so I’m not completely caught up on the Black&White lore, but I know there were twin kings who found the Original Dragon, then the twins fought and made the dragons split into Reshiram and Zekrom with Kyerum left over, or something. And I thought, are there other kings? (Yes, I think there should be)
An idea I’ve been playing with is this one where each generation, Reshiram and Zekrom are through to bless a pair of twins, to be their “champions” or something. Whether or not this blessing is actually real in this au is up for debate. The twin kings who befriended the original dragon are said to be the first to carry this blessing, and that’s the reason they were the first kings of Unova. In the modern era, this blessing is basically ignored and unimportant. In the past era, at the time Legends Arceus take place, those who have this blessing are said to have the divine right to rule, divine right of kings or whatever. So! The pair of twins who have the blessing are made the monarchs of Unova. In the time between the old monarchs die and the new twins are found, a council of nobles selected by the monarchs rule in their place. They also rule when there are sitting monarchs, as the monarchs are basically figure heads in this setup. The descendants of the monarchs usually become rich noble/upper class families.
Now, this “blessing” from the Twin dragons also comes with a lot of superstitions. One, the twins lives are linked. If one dies, so will the other. Two, if separated, the twins will slowly go mad. A literal interpretation of the saying “Truth without Ideals creates cruelty, Ideals without Truth creates madness,” as the twins blessed by the dragons are supposed to be the human embodiment of Truth and Ideals.
Now the plot! Emmet and Elesa somehow end up in past Unova with two Pokémon each (Eelektross, Chandelure, and the two Emolgas). Elesa becomes a tailor/seamstress and Emmet becomes a cowboy/bounty hunter who hunts Pokémon. They also catch and share a Zebstrika for travel purposes since there are no trains yet. They know Ingo is in this time period, but they don’t know where. Someone declares Emmet is blessed by Reshiram, and therefore is the next king of Unova. At first people assume that Elesa is his twin (they establish themselves as siblings here in the past), but they clear that up. Then people start freaking out because, oh no if the king is separated from his twin that means they are slowly going insane! (This is complete bullshit of course, Elesa can vouch that Emmet hasn’t gotten more insane, this superstition is completely false, but no one believes her).
So Emmet becomes king of Unova and Elesa is princess! Emmet’s specific flavor of acoustic rizz makes him blunt, straight to the point, and lack social awareness sometimes. He had just barely learned the social rules of his own era before being flung to the past, where the rules are different. Not very different at the working class level, but it’s a complete new world when he gets to the upper class level. As a bounty hunter, he could easily get by with this. But as a king, this makes people see him as an asshole so he quickly gains a reputation for being “cruel” especially because of the whole superstition nonsense. Emmet doesn’t care, the only thing he does as king is pour money into looking for Ingo. He lets the council of corrupt politicians rule in his name, and they utterly abuse this, making Emmet look like a greedy king and this would eventually be a point at which historians could identify as a turning point and the spark that led Unova to revolution and abolishing the monarchy. Thus, Emmet is named the Mad King of Unova. Elesa on the other hand, while normally great in social situations, struggles to navigate upper class society of this era, because the rules have suddenly all completely changed. She can easily adapt, but the upper class elite are ruthless and petty. She decides to say fuck it and lean into Emmet’s reputation for being “mad” and introduces modern clothing styles a century or two early. This makes her gain the reputation of being vain and an idiot :(
Eventually Emmet hears word that Ingo might be in Hisui, so he jumps on the nearest ship and commands them to set sail. He leaves Elesa in charge. When Elesa hears that Emmet has left without her, she tries to leave too, but is stopped by the ruling council who say that she can’t just leave the country without a ruler! (Cough, they need a scapegoat for their money laundering or whatever corrupt politicians do idk(edit:EMBEZZLEMENT)). Elesa decides to resolve this issue by making the Zebstrika she caught in this era a noble and leaves it in charge (a la emperor of Rome making a horse senator). Then Elesa sets sail to Hisui.
The two get to Hisui, find Ingo, and never return to Unova in this time period. What happens in Hisui? Idk, I haven’t got that far.
Anyway, if people are still reading at this point, lmk what y’all think, is this idea any good?

Submas Nutcracker AU (Part 4): How Ingo Became a Nutcracker
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3)
This post will exclusively be devoted to how Ingo got turned into a nutcracker in the first place.
So, in this AU, as you may recall, Ingo and Emmet are toy makers. Years ago, they lived in a kingdom far away where their skills and craftsmanship were so well-known that they were installed in the palace as royal toy makers for the young princess. Now, the princess, Lillie, was a sweet girl, pretty as a doll with an even lovelier heart. Her mother, Queen Lusamine, was even more beautiful. However, whereas Princess Lillie was kind and gentle, her mother was, well, kind of scary. She had an intimidating air and a wicked temper, and she was ruthless toward anyone unlucky/stupid enough to earn her wrath.
But neither of the brothers blamed her, for they knew she was suffering from a broken heart. You see, her husband, the Prince Consort Mohn, left on a diplomatic voyage with the young Prince Gladion years ago, and neither of them ever returned. Gladion was Lusamine’s only son, and Mohn was the only man she’d ever loved. She was devastated when they disappeared, and since then, she viewed the world with bitterness.
However, she was not so bitter that she didn’t delight in spoiling her daughter. For her birthdays and Christmas, Lusamine had Ingo and Emmet make Lillie the most fantastic playthings. Lillie was always grateful no matter what they gave her, so they put so much work into their creations more out of professional pride (and fear of displeasing her mother) than to please Lillie.
However, all of their lives changed late one Christmas Eve, when Mohn and Gladion returned.
Queen Lusamine, of course, was overjoyed to have her husband and son back. She threw a magnificent celebration the next day. The brothers had never seen her so happy. Mohn and Gladion reinstalled themselves in the palace at once, helping themselves to all the food within reach and enjoying all the pampering Lusamine and her servants heaped on them.
But as the days went by, oddities began to pile up. Why did Mohn and Gladion spend so many hours a day locked up in their rooms without admitting anyone, not even the queen? Why, when they were asked how they survived the storm that scuttled their ship, did they give such vague answers? How did they even get here in the first place? And why was Lillie’s Vulpix, a Pokémon she only received after her brother and father had gone missing, so openly hostile to Mohn and Gladion, always snapping and snarling at them whenever they approached?
What’s more, even since the two princes returned, the servants had spotted several Zorua creeping around the palace grounds and even sneaking around the interior of the palace itself, usually lurking around the kitchens and the orchard.
Ingo, Emmet, and even Lillie herself all noticed these things and tried to point them out to Lusamine, but she was too overjoyed to have her family complete again to heed their warnings.
The truth, however, could not remain hidden forever. One day, Lillie failed to keep hold of her Vulpix while Gladion was in the room, and it broke free of her arms. As if it had long been waiting for just such an opportunity, the Vulpix made a beeline for Gladion and bit him on the ankle. As Gladion yelped and snatched his leg away, before everyone’s eyes he transformed into a young Zorua! Vulpix’s bite had caused his illusion to fail.
Seeing that the false Gladion’s disguise had been revealed, “Mohn” transformed into a female Zoroark, snatched up the Zorua, and ran out of the room. Queen Lusamine’s husband and son had never returned at all. Instead, a powerful female Zoroark, known and feared throughout the land as “Lady Zoroark,” had impersonated Mohn, and her son, a young Zorua, had impersonated Gladion, solely to install themselves and their pack in the palace and live in luxury. Lusamine’s heart was broken all over again.
It didn’t take long for Lusamine’s sorrow to turn to rage. She swore that she would have her revenge.
Now, you might never guess from looking at them, but in addition to being skilled toy makers, Ingo and Emmet were also experienced battlers. Lusamine knew this, and so she commanded them to punish Lady Zoroark’s pack for the outrage she had committed.
The brothers accepted the queen’s order and set to work. They set traps for the Zorua that Lady Zoroark had let into the palace, luring them with food and then battling them into submission with their own Pokémon.
But Lady Zoroark, who since being discovered always kept her son tucked in her mane, was too intelligent for such tactics. Emmet and Ingo had to borrow Lillie’s Vulpix to help track her down, and she was strong enough to hold her own in battle. Battles with Lady Zoroark were often chaotic. Lusamine had told the brothers that she didn’t care if anything in the palace was damaged. All that mattered was defeating the Zoroark.
Emmet supposed, in hindsight, that if Lusamine had not given that order, the brothers might have been more careful, and what happened next might have been prevented.
The brothers managed to corner Lady Zoroark and her son in the dining room. There was a magnificent chandelier hanging above the dining table. A battle was soon raging, and even Lady Zoroark’s son joined the melee. Attacks were flying back and forth. Ingo ordered his Chandelure to use Will-O-Wisp. Lady Zoroark saw the attack coming and hit Emmet’s Eelektross with Night Slash, knocking it backward into Chandelure. Chandelure’s aim was thrown off when Eelektross slammed into it, and it ended up firing its Will-O-Wisp directly into the chandelier above the dining table, where young Zorua was standing.
Chandelure saw what was about to happen and threw itself in front of Ingo while using Protect in order to shield him from the glass. Eelektross and Emmet, however, weren’t able to move fast enough to evade the flying debris, and a shard of glass struck Emmet in his right eye.
Poor, young Zorua, however, got the worst of it. The chandelier fell directly on top of him, and when the dust cleared, Ingo and Emmet were horrified to see the little Zorua lying dead beneath the chandelier.
Ingo and Emmet may have been hired to clear Lady Zoroark’s pack from the palace, but they loved Pokémon and never meant for something like this to happen. Their remorse, however, meant nothing to Lady Zoroark, who hissed that Queen Lusamine better watch out, lest Lady Zoroark bite her pretty princess in two.
Lusamine immediately ordered her guards to watch over Lillie day and night with their dog Pokémon, but it did no good. One night, while everyone was sleeping, a guard checked on Lillie to find Lady Zoroark looming over her bed. The guard immediately sent his Growlithe after her, but while his Pokémon was able to drive Lady Zoroark away, the guard saw that Lady Zoroark had cast a horrible curse on the princess. Sweet Princess Lillie had been transformed into an ugly wooden doll.
Lusamine blamed Ingo and Emmet. It was their bungling, she said, that had gotten Zorua killed and earned Lady Zoroark’s wrath. She was on the verge of ordering them both to be put to death, but her advisor, Wicke, who was of a much calmer disposition, convinced her to stay her hand. Wouldn’t it be more prudent, Wicke, suggested, to give the brothers time to fix their mistake?
Lusamine ultimately agreed and told the brothers they had one week to find a way to break Lillie’s curse or else. Luckily, through their work, the brothers had met many children all over the kingdom. One such child, Sabi, was a clairvoyant who could read the future in the stars. So, with their necks on the line, the brothers immediately went to see Sabi and learn if she knew of a way to break Princess Lillie’s curse.
After consulting the stars, Sabi told them that breaking this curse would not be easy. This was a very strong curse, born of malice, and, therefore, required a very complicated series of steps to break. First, the brothers would need to find a Mythical Pecha Berry, which even an expertly cared for Pecha tree will only produce once every few years. Unlike normal Pecha Berries, each Mythical Pecha Berry has a seed in the middle, protected by a hard shell. A human has to crack the seed of the Mythical Pecha Berry with their teeth, feed it to the princess, and then take seven steps backward with their eyes closed and without stumbling. If the person who cracks the seed somehow fails to take the required seven steps back, the curse will rebound onto them.
The brothers carried this information back to Lusamine, who immediately ordered her men to raid the royal berry orchard for a Mythical Pecha Berry. The royal orchard was huge, but after five straight days of searching, one of the queen’s men finally found a Mythical Pecha Berry with a seed inside.
Now all that was left was to find someone to break the curse. Lusamine promised that anyone able to crack the seed and break the princess’s curse would be handsomely rewarded, but the seed was hard as a stone. Even worse, many from around the kingdom were too afraid to even approach the palace, much less break the curse, in fear of Lady Zoroark’s wrath. The few brave enough to even attempt to break the nut usually went home with broken teeth.
Finally, after yet another brave soul had broken his jaw, Ingo announced that he would give it a try. Emmet urged him not to. Never mind the dental bill, what would Ingo do if the curse rebounded? What if he attracted Lady Zoroark’s wrath? But Ingo would not be dissuaded. He pitied the princess, and he still felt guilty for the role he had played in the death of Lady Zoroark’s son. He was determined to make this right in any way he could.
Ingo took the seed into his hand and thought. He could never hope to break its shell using only his teeth. Was there something he could do to make the shell more brittle? After thinking it over, he called out Chandelure and ordered it to use Will-O-Wisp on the seed. Once burned, the shell became much more brittle. Ingo was able to crack it easily between his teeth.
Ingo presented the seed to the princess without flinching from her hideous appearance. As soon as she had eaten the Mythical Pecha Berry seed, Princess Lillie was restored to her former self. The princess was almost as relieved to see the curse broken as Lusamine, who Ingo could have sworn he saw shed a tear.
Emmet kept an eye out while Ingo slowly took the seven steps backward. Suddenly, a pair of Zorua ran into the room. Emmet immediately sent out Eelektross to fight them off, but this was only a distraction. While Emmet and Eelektross were occupied, Lady Zoroark shrunk herself down to the size of a Cutiefly and ran under Ingo’s feet. He stepped directly on her, stumbled, and fell to the ground just as he was about to take the seventh step. The curse rebounded upon him, and by the time he hit the ground he was no longer a man of flesh and blood but a small, wooden nutcracker. Lady Zoroark, lying in a puddle of her own blood, gave one final smirk and died.
When Lusamine saw what had become of Ingo, she was disgusted. Against Princess Lillie’s protestations, she banished both Ingo and Emmet from the kingdom for all the trouble they had caused. Emmet supposed, looking back, that Lusamine didn’t want any reminder of the suffering Lady Zoroark had brought to the palace, and Ingo’s cursed form was too painful for her to look at.
Ingo has been cursed ever since. He and Emmet were forced to flee the kingdom, all the while being hunted by Lady Zoroark’s son, who had returned as a vengeful ghost. The violent way he and his mother had died had infused his soul with feelings of malice, resurrecting him as the terrifying Fox King.
This is the story that Emmet told Akari when she asked for the story of the Fox King. But there’s another part of this story that Emmet didn’t tell Akari. After they had left the palace, Emmet and Ingo saw Sabi one more time to see if there was a way to free Ingo from his curse. After consulting the stars again, Sabi told the brothers that because Ingo was transformed via a rebounded curse, the circumstances surrounding his transformation would likewise have to be reversed. Ingo was cursed when he made a sacrifice for a girl but was rejected in disgust. Therefore, to break the curse, a girl would have to make a sacrifice for him, and she must do so out of love.
This is why Emmet gave the transformed Ingo to Akari. He believes that Akari will be the one to break Ingo’s curse.

One of Lady Sneasler's kittens decided to say hi to the scared Zorua. Gem, the Sneasel, is happy to see a new friend. Out of the three Sneasels, Gem is gentle in how he interacts with Zorua. Although Zorua is still scared of Gem, it's a good thing that he didn't run away.
Ingo is happy that Zorua can at least interact with one of the poisonous kittens. Meanwhile, it seems like Emmet's Zorua is causing trouble.
Emmet has to deal with the shenanigans of his Zorua for a few months after taking it in seven years ago. Ingo has been missing for 8 years. This has made Emmet depressed, and he tries his best not to dwell on it. Since the first year of Ingo's disappearance, Emmet has been trying to keep their apartment clean to distract himself. He'd rather avoid facing the reality of Ingo's absence, although he knows it's just avoiding the truth. He values truth but in this case this truth, he thinks it's false. He doesn't want to be as idealistic as Ingo, but sometimes he wishes for a miracle to bring Ingo back or at least provide a reason for his disappearance. Then he met Zorua, which, although Emmet does not like the shenanigans that Zorua gets up to, it unintentionally made him feel a bit better which is what Zorua wanted. After meeting Emmet, Zorua just wants to make Emmet happy, even if making small mischief is enough to at least make him not think about bad stuff. Zorua has a simple, idealistic goal: to make everyone happy and distract them from negative thoughts.

Anyway, I had fun making this art. Though, the Emmet art just makes me not wanna want to draw background characters but I remembered I made Pokemon Designs for my ocs so I made them into background characters. So, Lets just say they just wanna visit Unova or something. Also this is the first time of me trying to make a comic. I don't know how to comic so I don't mind any criticism. (especially with grammar pls help) Anyway, I've been working on this animation. If you have heard the song and poses uh. yeah I'm just showing the frames of it.
Edit: I finally have a name for this AU and its in the tag

Day Trip
This one took a lot to get out of my head. Thanks to Mons for their endless inspiration and for urging me forward. --------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary: Dawn spends the day with Mai, and Gaeric is pissed about it.
Don't like to read on Tumblr? Find it here on AO3.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Diamond Clan wasn’t too far offshore, the village nestled in the deep channels of a mighty river delta that flowed through the whole of Hisui. The waters were considerably warmer than that of the northern shore and, although Dawn’s mer body was well adapted to that kind of water, it was a welcome change. She would be cold when she got out of the water, but she wouldn’t be at risk of hypothermia when she clambered out from the sea…
Dawn was caught mid-thought, Adaman sweeping his arms this way and that around the settlement while she lagged behind. Where did her clothes go when she transformed? Did her clothes turn into her pearly coat? Her hair was usually soaked when she exited the water, it was why she started bringing a towel down with her, but her clothes only got wet when she was out of the water and her sopping wet hair dripped on her warm clothes.
Magic could be so weird.
“Dawn,” Adaman calling her name pulled her out of her contemplation and she worked to catch up to the clan leader, his young face pinched with annoyance. “Mustn’t waste any time, Mai is waiting for you.”
This was news to Dawn. In fact, this whole situation was a little odd to her.
The Diamond clan was not unfriendly, far from it, it was just that the Pearl clan tended to gather her up rather protectively and whisk her away to the cold waters of their territory. Adaman had specifically intercepted Ingo and Dawn on their way to the settlement. The man’s scales glittered in the late morning sun as he circled around them in a hypnotic sort of dance. It was relaxed, especially for someone like Adaman who Dawn was sure was unable to relax given his impeccable sense of time.
Although Adaman could be deceptively fast with a few quick swishes of his tail, it didn’t seem like he wanted to attack or to lull them into a false sense of security, but he was acting decidedly un-Adaman-like with his small talk. Ingo chatted with him politely but was bristling with each interruption as the Diamond clan leader managed to insert himself between them and their intended destination.
It took Dawn a few passes to realize, but Adaman seemed to be herding them back to Diamond clan territory with his ever-tightening circles. He knew that infringing on Ingo’s space would make the warden want to put more distance between himself and Adaman, the blue haired mer was taking advantage of that.
“Lord Adaman,” Ingo’s voice finally cut through the conversation like a spear launched through the water. “I’m terribly sorry, but I must get Dawn to the settlement posthaste. Mistress Calaba has a lesson for her today about the practical uses of seaweed for dressing wounds.”
Unbeknownst to Ingo, Dawn made a face of revulsion. Seaweed was not amongst her favorite things. Seaweed was both slimy and rubbery to her adolescent taste buds and smelled of rotten dead fish to her, from the kombu that Beni used to make his seafood-based broths to the seaweed salads she distantly remembered her mother trying to feed her when she was young. When Dawn swam in the sea, she was the only one to screech in panic as pieces of seaweed clung to her bare legs, her brain conjuring images of sea monsters that would drag her to the deep to drown her.
She would rather die than learn more about the disgusting vegetation that the sea had to offer.
“Ingo!” She hissed, loud enough for both of them to hear, but low enough to clue into both of them men of the conspiratorial nature of her beckoning hand. Ingo excused himself and leaned down, his ear close to Dawn as she whispered to him, “Maybe I should go with him. We don’t want to offend Adaman by rejecting him, y’know?”
The warden paused to consider this. It wasn’t that he didn’t take it under advisement, he just wanted to keep an eye on Dawn, and he would not be permitted to tag along to Diamond clan territory with them. His concerns lie with her… chatty disposition. Dawn was a friendly girl, it was nearly impossible not to like her, but she often spoke first and thought later.
“Is there a specific purpose for Dawn’s departure to your station?”
He was trying to stall without being perceived as rude. Adaman waved his hand, mentioning something about Mai needing some help with some items Dawn would find of interest. Ingo was not listening.
He would not be there to help her recover if she said something suspicious. He would not be able to protect her if Diamond clan saw through, at times, tissue thin lies that she had to spin on the fly. If they tried to hurt her – No, Ingo didn’t want to think about that. He didn’t want to think about how small and delicate she was compared to every other mer. He didn’t want to think about how Melli and Iscan were already suspicious of her.
All he had to do was say no, then it would be the end of that discussion. Adaman would have to accept his choice.
“Ingo,” she must have seen something in his dour expression change minutely, she poked his cheek with a pout on her face. “Trust me. I promise not to say a word.”
He truly wanted to believe that.
“Exhibit caution around Melli and Iscan if they are there. Understood?” Dawn gave him a thumbs up and a bright smile. This was a fun, new adventure for her. “Please do not take this lightly. If anyone were to find out-”
“I’ll be careful!”
She insisted, big black eyes pleading to let her go. His ear twitched and his eyes softened at the expression, nodding in Adaman’s direction in a wordless acknowledgement. Ingo knew Diamond clan was just as protective of pups as Pearl clan was, she would be safe with them.
“I believe Calaba will understand… I will expect you back here promptly before sunset, so that I might escort Dawn back to the settlement unscathed.”
Adaman nodded, offering his reassurances as Dawn joined him at his side. The warden tried to ignore the uneasy churning in his stomach as he watched them go.
After Adaman’s little tour of the settlement, he and Dawn joined Mai at the outskirts. The warden was chatting with some of the other clan members when she noticed their approach and broke off the conversation to greet them. Dawn liked Mai, she was the second mer she ever met, and she had been nothing but kind to her. She was one of the few who didn’t outwardly said anything about Dawn being unusual for a mer. Not even weird looks. Mai was easy-going and took every Dawn said in stride with a serene, unbothered expression.
“Ready to go on a little adventure, kiddo?”
Mai asked after her initial greeting, smile widening when Dawn nodded emphatically. Ushering the teen away, the warden explained that she needed Dawn’s help searching the insides of a wreckage from one of the rifts.
Dawn encountered many rift distortions on land and in the sea, they came in the form of dark bubbles that blotted out the light around it. They would only last for a few minutes, but strange things would appear in them that seemed familiar to Dawn. She explored them, hiding from the animals that were going berserk – like being inside the rifts was driving them into a state of madness. Captain Cyllene, Professor Laventon, and Ingo all warned her to stay out of them, Laventon saying half heartedly because he was also so excited to see what things appeared inside those mysterious distortions.
“What fell through the distortion this time?
“Not sure if I’m being honest.” Mai hummed, allowing Dawn to race ahead and play in the water in her excitement. “They’re big, almost as big as me, so I can’t get inside to investigate.”
“Why not ask Arezu or Sabi?”
Mai was silent for a moment, long enough for Dawn to swivel her head to look at the warden.
“Sabi gets distracted to easily, and Arezu is… indisposed.”
Although the moment was stilted, Dawn shrugged it off and allowed herself to drift back to fall alongside her. She knew why Mai and Adaman had wanted her help as soon as the water grew colder and colder. Gaeric wouldn’t attack Mai for entering their territory with Dawn in tow. It sucked to be a chess piece, but if it got Dawn out and about in the ocean then she supposed she didn’t mind.
------
Ingo returned empty handed and prayed that he ran into Calaba first. He knew one person who would not be thrilled that his ward was not accompanying him. Although Gaeric was only slightly smaller than him, his fellow warden had mastered a level of stealth that would have been envied by the likes of octopi and flatfish. Despite his best efforts, Gaeric had found him, and he was watching Ingo’s impassive face closely. They hadn’t known each other long, but Gaeric was inexplicably good at catching the minute details that his closed off expression had to offer.
“You look more mopey than usual. What’s the problem?”
Before Ingo could get a word in edgewise, he noticed Gaeric’s nostrils flair and his eyes moved around the cavern, not seeing Dawn and instantly becoming suspicious.
“I assure you I am not moping.”
“Uh-huh,” Gaeric hummed, clearly not listening, and leaned in closer to peer around him. Dawn was nervous around him thanks to past interactions, so she took to hiding behind the large mer. “Where’s your pup? You smell like her, but I don’t see her.”
Ingo was not the lying sort, especially not with his clan mates, and, despite knowing Gaeric would not like the answer, he told his fellow warden the truth.
“Ah, she is spending the day with Diamond clan to get better acquainted with them.”
“SHE WHAT?”
------
The long metal tube that Mai eventually led her to looked as though it had been here for a while. There was no crater that would have telegraphed the momentum of such a large object crashing into the ocean floor. The sand had settled around the outside of the tube, like it had been here for a while.
“There shouldn’t be anything in there that can hurt you, but I’ll be right here if you need me, alright?”
Mai pried opened the double doors, a flurry of bubbles escaping the tube just before Dawn poked her head inside. The warden didn’t let the door close. She wanted to leave an easy exit for Dawn just in case something was in there.
Dawn prodded around. The tube was pretty barren, a few blown out glass windows and what seemed to be structural polls, and colorful bench seats. Whatever had been in the tube had most likely drifted away by this point or was scavenged by the local sea life.
Limp safety posters had turned mostly transparent from the salt water dotted the walls, the symbols seeming somewhat familiar to the teen as she swished before them, squinting at the assemblage that offered a warning. She remembered that big red text often indicated something important or dangerous to the reader.
“Is there anything specific I should be looking for?”
She asked Mai, tearing her eyes from the posters that seemed to only grow blurrier the longer she looked at them.
“No, nothing in particular.” The warden admitted, peering into the car with a massive eye. “I know you take an interest in this stuff.”
“Oh! Thanks Mai.”
“Sure thing, kiddo.”
Huh, how funny, Gaeric referred to her by the same little nickname. Actually, she and Gaeric bore a lot of similarities.
Dawn didn’t spend nearly as much time with Diamond clan as she did with Pearl clan, especially since many of their number were more suspicious of her, but she did know Mai was the eldest warden and everyone seemed to look up to her like everyone did with Gaeric.
Somehow, what they felt resonated with Dawn. She felt like a lot of people looked up to her for guidance wherever she was from. That was when she felt a mild buzzing blooming at the back of her head, uncomfortable and hot when she lifted her hand to run the spot tenderly. This always happened when she tried to remember something from before she dropped into Hisui. Did she maybe have siblings or people close enough to call siblings? She felt like she knew the pressure of having all eyes on you and she could sympathize with Mai and Gaeric.
“I don’t think there’s anything in here, Mai.”
“That’s unfortunate. Some of the things you find are real treasures.” That made Dawn blush, a sheepish smile coming to her face as she exited the tube. Mai was always taking interest in what the pups did and said, listening with an idle fascination, a soft smile, and infinite patience. “There are a few more of these closer to the drop off, let’s go take a peek. Stay close to me.”
------
Ingo expected the roar of indignation, it rattled the very foundations of the icy space. He attempted to be calm, but knew it was fruitless, nothing was going to keep Gaeric calm at this point.
“The situation is temporary. She was quite insistent that she go to maintain the piece between the clans.”
The interrogation that followed wasn’t unexpected, but his fellow warden’s explosive reaction was not entirely expected at the mention of Mai.
“Mai? MAI? Ingo, we have to go get her right now!”
Ingo looked at him, utterly perplexed as Gaeric’s whiskers twitched with a barely contained frustration. Mai was the least of his concerns among the Diamond clan. She was kind to Dawn, she knew how to be gentle, but also knew when and how to treat her like the teenager she was. This was something, Ingo noted, that Gaeric failed to understand. He wasn’t sure if it was because he harbored suspicions of Dawn, if he didn’t quite know how to deal with a runty teenager, or a combination of the two. Gaeric was an excellent mentor to the pups, and they all seemed to adore him in return – perhaps Dawn’s distrust of Gaeric made their already tentative relationship more strained.
“I fail to see the issue.”
“Mai’s going to corrupt her!”
“Pardon?”
Gaeric grit his teeth to stifle a growl, hands resting on his shoulders and claws digging into the black fabric as if for emphasis.
“Mai is going to corrupt Dawn. She’s going to twist her mind so that she might be more receptive to the ideologies of their false god.”
Ingo stared at him blankly. Although he practiced the teachings of Pearl clan, Ingo didn’t really understand the nature of the schism and the lingering animosity that arose from it. He was looking at it as an outsider and understood they had differing truths and ideals, but much of what he was able to glean from listening to Melli harp on and on about the topic, much of Diamond clan’s ideology matched up with Pearl clans.
“I understand your concerns, however I think it would be unwise to barrel into a station at full steam.”
His fellow warden closed his eyes slowly, his jaw clenched and a tight smile on his face when he reopened them. Ingo knew Gaeric did this whenever he started to get frustrated with Ingo and didn’t know how to tell him that politely.
“We’re going to go get her.”
“I don’t-”
“Now.”
------
“You don’t like any fish?” She shook her head. “What does Pearl Clan feed you?”
“I eat cooked fish.”
Dawn said, rummaging through the detritus at the bottom of the overturned tube. Some of the things she recognized. Bottles. Little colorful wrappers for sweets. A little hard case that reminded her of a clamshell with a pair of spectacles inside. Glasses case. Dawn lifted the glasses to her eyes and looked toward Mai with a grin. The warden was extremely blurry through the lenses of the glasses.
“How do I look?”
Mai exhaled sharply, less startled and more amused.
“A little silly, but I think you could pull it off.”
Dawn giggled and removed the glasses, finding the shift between her own eyesight and the lenses disorientating.
“I think I might keep these. If you focus the light with something like these, you can start fires pretty quickly.”
“Really?” Mai said mildly, watching her as she tucked the glasses and their case into her little bag. “Who taught you that?”
Dawn was about to answer when she suddenly was met with a wall of white. Not literally, but mentally. Whatever had just been on the tip of her tongue was gone just as quickly.
“I… Don’t know. Not Pearl Clan.”
Not Galaxy Team either. They used a little flint and steel to create sparks for flames.
No, this was knowledge that preceded her time in Hisui. The realization made her heartache with a familiar emotion for a home that she no longer remembered with extreme clarity. A fog that clouded her mind and misted her eyes when something almost seemed familiar. The sensation was hollow when she knew it should ache. Surely, she left people behind – people who missed her… right?
“Dawn?”
Mai’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She didn’t reply but resumed her sweep through the tube with little to show for her searching. A slip of paper with faded colors and letter that seemed familiar. Greens and reds that were nearly opaque from the salt water, but it reminded her of something… She used a slip like this for a boat – a ferry – to take to an island. This tube wasn’t a boat as far as she could tell. Not unless it was a weird underwater boat (which wasn’t even remotely possible to build, how would it be airtight?). In any case, she stashed the slip into her bag. Maybe if she kept it, it would spark something more in her head.
“How many more of these are there?”
“Just one more. The swim is a little longer so, if you get tired, grab my hood and I’ll tow you.”
Dawn insisted she could swim but found it hard to keep up. With each stroke of Mai’s tail, Dawn had to do five to keep pace adequately. She held onto Mai’s hood.
“Mai?” When she hummed in reply, Dawn asked, “Did you ask me to come so you wouldn’t get in trouble with Gaeric if he came across you looking for these tubes?”
The warden snorted, her eyes crinkling at the sides in amusement.
“I’m not worried about that ball of blubber. I could beat Gaeric with one fin tied behind my back… But you’re not wrong.” Mai paused for a moment, seeming to consider what she said next, before admitting to her, “It would be a bad look for Diamond clan if I were to just poke around in Pearl clan’s territory. I might not be causing any problems, but I don’t want Gaeric to fly into a tizzy about this. You being here might at least give him pause.”
In all honesty, Dawn had expected Mai to say something more akin to a reassuring lie. She knew Ingo and the other members of Pearl clan did that, but the Diamond clan warden said each word with sincerity.
Mai didn’t treat her like a baby.
Dawn appreciated that.
------
“Don’t you think you’re worries are a bit… premature?”
Gaeric deliberately ignored him. Nothing he said was going to derail him – Gaeric would march right over to Diamond clan, reclaim Dawn, spit a half threat-half warning, and return to the settlement to scold her. Ingo didn’t think he would let his fellow warden get that far.
Dawn didn’t deserve a scolding for a pragmatic decision.
“Where was the last you saw them?”
Ingo heaved a great sigh and told him where, following in Gaeric’s wake to avoid an incident between him and Mai. Of all the Diamond Clan wardens, Ingo liked Mai best. Not that he disliked the others! No, he just found himself relating to her more. Much in the same way that he related to Gaeric. It made him wonder if, at one point, if he had younger siblings he looked after.
Ingo felt like he must have, that or he had people who looked up to him as if he were an older brother figure.
The orca mer shook the thought from his head and focused on catching up to Gaeric. His expression was dark with annoyance. It did not improve when Ingo asked him his next question.
“Is there a particular reason why Warden Mai in particular makes you concerned?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Gaeric asked, jerking his whole body around to reply. He was puffed up with an indignation that didn’t make a whole lot of sense to ingo. Any time that Mai was mentioned, there seemed to be a near instant irritation from Gaeric. Ingo blinked, slowing to a stop, and waiting until Gaeric’s brow twitched and he exhaled sharply, shoulders slumping.
“I was not trying imply anything, Gaeric.”
“I know… Mai’s a lot more conniving than she looks. She’s a Diamond, she shouldn’t be trusted.”
“Do you have reason to believe she would harm Dawn?”
Gaeric hesitated and then shook his head. The next words looked as though they physically pained him to admit aloud.
“No, I trust her to keep Dawn safe. I just don’t like the idea of them spending too much time together.”
Ingo offered a nod.
“We will go retrieve her, but I must insist to calm yourself before we get back on track.”
------
The last tube looms in the distance, the whole thing sticking up vertically in the sand and creaking with their approach. Dawn edged closer to Mai, not liking the look of this one even a little. The sounds, the lack of other sea life, and the precarious way it jutted from the ground made her stomach queasy.
“You’re sure it’s safe, Mai?”
The older mer tilted her head, dark eyes sweeping over it.
“You don’t have to go in if you don’t want to. I have a feeling that this one might have more little trinkets that you might like just because of how isolated and undisturbed it is, but you can say no and we can head back to the settlement right now.”
Mai gave her an indifferent shrug and a neutral smile, allowing Dawn to make the decision by making her own thorough examination of the tube. This one seemed to be a lot more intact than the others as Mai suggested. This one had what looked like wheels on one side and it dawned on Dawn that the tubes were a vehicle. The word “bus” flashed in her head, but that didn’t sit right with her. It was some form of transportation, but that was the only thing that seemed clear to Dawn. She didn’t voice any of this, of course.
Swimming to the top of the transport, Dawn peered through the cracked glass and saw a few things dangling from the ceiling and a few colorful posters on the opposite end. Those were obscured by dark and sand, but Dawn immediately saw something that jumped out at her.
There was a symbol that stood out as clear as day on the right poster.
“I’ll go in. I’ll be extra careful.”
Dawn insisted, tugging on the doors but unable to open them. She waited, holding back the quiver in her hands when Mai pried the doors apart. She made a beeline for the poster and stared at the shattered glass covering, the same symbol that was on Ingo’s hat was on the poster, albeit almost as faded as the badge.
It was surrounded by symbols that had no meaning to her, but she recognized it as some sort of advertisement. There were… Silhouettes? Gray figures that were all lumped up. Nothing really distinguishable. Gingerly, Dawn pressed her fingers to the glass, absently wondering if there was a way for her to take this out of here to show to Ingo. It truly didn’t even occur to her just how odd that this symbol was here, in this transport that was clearly too small for the massive orca. Her discovery simply excited her for the rationale to cross her mind.
Eyes drifted around, trying to mentally map the space as she thought of other potential problems with this half-cocked plan. The paper would be super fragile, virtually untouchable without disintegrating, in all honestly, but Dawn was unwilling to admit that because she wanted so desperately wanted to show this to Ingo. Could she maybe pry the poster off the wall in its frame? It seemed to be bolted down tight.
Maybe if she had enough leverage…
Dawn’s eyes fell onto the other poster on the other side of the door, and she froze.
She recognized a word on that poster! In fact-
Dawn moved closer to that poster, the uncomfortable prickling in her head growing into a stabbing pain as she forced herself to look.
Sinnoh
That… That was Mount Coronet. But how was that possible?
Something was boiling in the back of her head. The burble of a voice that sounded familiar. It reminded her of Volo for some reason.
… There is a statue of an ancient ... Have you seen it already? According to myth, it was an extremely powerful ... Who knows? You may encounter something like it while you're traveling …
Dawn gasped sharply, her mind and body putting distance between the memories and the poster that were causing her such pain. The water around her face suddenly felt so warm.
------
Finding Dawn and Mai wasn’t too much of an issue. Gaeric had a sixth sense for Diamond clan members, probably from having to deal with sneaky little Sabi, and Ingo had his own sort of sixth sense to Dawn. Her habit of getting into her own sort of mischief made him hyperaware of where she was at all times. To both their surprise, Dawn and Mai were in Pearl clan territory – dangerously close to the drop off.
Why they were there was unimportant, it was imperative that they get them out of there. The drop off was absolutely not a place for pups. Not even a good place for adult mers because of all the strange things that lived in the drop off.
Ingo couldn’t help but shudder at the memory of his first and last hunt over the drop off because he was surprisingly awful at hunting and because he became Lady Sneasler’s warden. However, a hazier recollection was percolating just beneath the surface when they came upon Dawn and Mai. His limbs froze up, stopping all together as Gaeric pressed forward, completely unaware of Ingo’s sudden distress.
A burning pressure in his lungs as if he were holding his breath underwater too long, his thoughts molten from the lack of oxygen before he blissfully passed out. His next memory was of Palina’s dark eyes about six inches from his nose, the pain coursing through his body immense as… what was that thing? Ingo didn’t know, but it was crushing his tail.
The structure - That thing….
“Gaeric-”
Ingo began to say, but the mer was surging forward toward Mai with an intimidating growl. She looked their way, and her expression didn’t change much, indifferent if a little amused by their appearance.
“Warden Ingo. Warden Gaeric.”
It was polite for Ingo and a little frosty for Gaeric. It wasn’t hard to tell they had a history. If Ingo wasn’t acutely aware of minute changes in body language, facial expressions, and the tone and pitch of voices, he wouldn’t have realized. He almost didn’t realize now as a sudden and uncomfortable sensation crawled the length of his considerably long spine.
The structure…
“What is the matter with you? What would possess you to take a pup anywhere near the drop off?”
“I like to give the pups I watch over the benefit of confidence. They get a little more independent when I let them explore and do the things they want to do. I offered Dawn the chance to explore these… things, and now she is, and she loves it.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
This structure… why?
“We can’t afford to waste time and coddle our pups into adulthood.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, but the space around us is a little less hospitable than your filthy river.”
They said there were no more. Just the one they found him in.
“As precious as you are about your space, at least we were more strategic about picking a location to settle than a damn glacier.”
“What do you know? What do you know about what we’ve gone through when we-”
“Gaeric.”
Ingo’s voice was sharp and cold like an icicle shattering into fragments on the ground. The other Pearl clan warden flinched. His bitterness and agitation in Mai’s presence evaporated when he heard that tone. He had rarely heard Ingo use it and it was petrifying when he did. Even Mai when still and quiet, a breath stuck in her chest as she waited in fearful anticipation. She had never seen Ingo mad – but she wasn’t sure she could call this mad.
“Ingo-”
Gaeric was not permitted to finish.
“You said there weren’t more. You explicitly said there weren’t more. I may have a faulty cab, but I know this is not the same one.”
Ingo did not understand the structures, but they triggered something in his head. Something familiar. He wanted to know so badly what it was. He was found being crushed by one, but nobody really had an explanation for it. Ingo had explored that one top to bottom once he had recovered, trying to find any clues or remnants of information that might clue him into the significance of these things.
Irida had told him after a long search that there were no more. He tried to ask for permission to look for himself and Gaeric jumped in to shoot the idea down. Ingo barely knew the area, he had said, and they had already checked all over – there was nothing left.
Gaeric had lied.
His fellow warden had a flash of something (was it fear?) cross his face before he recomposed and began defending himself.
“What difference would it have made if you had known about this? You couldn’t get in there even if you wanted to. It would have been a wild goose chase.”
“Wow, didn’t realize how much disarray the Pearl clan was.”
Mai smirked, folding her arms and leaning back to watch the show. Now that she knew the anger wasn’t directed at her, she could afford to watch Gaeric get verbally berated. She doubted Ingo had it in him to hurt Gaeric, he was remarkably gentle for a mer of his size, but Ingo could talk circles around people.
“Shut up, Mai.” Gaeric hissed before cutting his eyes back to Ingo. “Listen, I didn’t really know you back when Irida had us fan out to look for your pod. We came across a few of these, but they seem less related to you and more to the rifts that kept popping open. I’m sure they have nothing to do with-”
“You’ve known about this for that long?”
The tone was verging on disappointment, but it was hurt in a way that felt sharp going in and jagged coming out. Gaeric unconsciously crossed his arms and rubbed his biceps, growing more defensive with each passing second and he emitted an incoherent snarl of frustration. Yes, he recognized that he was making excuses. It would be no good to anyone to have Ingo distractedly swimming all over kingdom come.
“What difference does it make?”
There was a flash of wickedly sharp teeth and a deep growl that seemed to make the water vibrate. Behind him, Mai tutted disapprovingly, but Gaeric made no attempt to round on her – his attention was on his clan mate.
“All that time wasted, what a shame.”
“How long?”
The words were ground out with a note of impatience, like Ingo was moments away from lunging forward to shake some sense into him until Gaeric spat out the answer.
“We knew about a month after you arrived.”
“Hm, how peculiar that your Sinnoh did not deem you worthy enough to know of these things in your space sooner.”
A warning growl from Gaeric, but Mai ignored it. It was amusing to watch someone other than herself give Gaeric a hard time. This was easy pickings, but Mai allowed herself to be petty this once. A smile curved her lips, displaying rows of sharp teeth for only a millisecond before it disappeared.
“You kept this knowledge from me? There could have been remnants of my pod there – and now they’re most likely scoured by scavengers and wiped clean by time. This…” He seemed to be at a loss for words, casting his gray eyes around as if seeking out the right string to really emphasis how painful this felt for him. “Your actions are disgraceful.”
“Disgraceful? You think my actions are disgraceful?”
Gaeric bristled with rage, leaning closer to Ingo who remained unmoving and glowering. He opened his mouth, gnashing his teeth like he was between tearing Ingo’s throat out with them or just to intimidate the orca, when something white streaked across his vision. Ingo flinched and Gaeric immediately drew back, Dawn was shoving Ingo’s cheek as if to push him away.
“Stop! Stop! Let’s just go! Come on Ingo, let’s just go. Please? I want to go back to the settlement.”
Fright laced her words, pushing him with all her might until Ingo relented, moving in the direction of the settlement without so much as a backward glance. Crisis narrowly averted for now.
“Ah well.”
Mai sighed, stretching and eyeing Gaeric’s back, his shoulders still tense. She didn’t get to see them tussle.
“Mai?” He hadn’t turned to look at her, Gaeric was still watching the duo retreat into the gloom. “Do you think there’s something off about Dawn?”
It should have been something she laughed off. Gaeric? Asking her something like that? How ludicrous. However, Mai heard something in his voice, something that resonated with her all too well, and it made her pause and really consider what he was asking. He was asking as someone concerned for his people and, even if it felt a little preposterous that Gaeric would be worried about a pup like Dawn, she gave him the benefit of the doubt, just this once.
“I… think I know what you mean? But I just can’t put my finger on it.”
“Neither can I.”
Gaeric admitted. He didn’t ask anything else. He wasn’t even really sure why he brought it up, unsure of what prompted the thought in the first place, but it was out there now. Mai slipped away without further comment and Gaeric returned to the settlement, remaining under the radar until the necessary space would give him and Ingo time to reflect on their words.

Transiting Sun enters Virgo
Thursday, August 22 - Sunday, September 22, 2024
Virgo the Virgin*:
• Earth (material - practical, grounded, sensual, reliable, stable, cautious)
• Yin (gravity - ingoing, receptive, intuitive, collecting)
• Mutable (adapting to learning - distributing, connecting, flexible, scattered)
• Interpersonal (social - focused on others
• "I analyze"
• Ruler - Mercury (traditional), the Lady Asteroids Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta (Ms M); exalted - Chiron and the other Centaurs (Ms M)
• Color: earthy brown-greens, like olive and sage
(* Gleaned almost completely from the book Astrology for Yourself by Bloch and George; the rulerships and color are my own theory/belief.)
===+++***+++===
I’m seeing this particular Virgo season as picking up a lot of pieces and trying to put them together again. Or trying to put them together better.
We have to keep in mind, also, that the “shadow of the eclipse” begins on September 7 - just over halfway through Virgo season. Things are bound to get crazy.
This all may end well for us, with a pretty spectacular stellar lineup that helps us attune closer to The Cosmos. It isn’t all smooth sailing, though. The upcoming eclipse is a “South Node” one, taking something away - unhealthy attachments to the past will get in the way.
Thursday, August 22 - Sun/Virgo inconjunct Pluto Rx/Aquarius, 0°11’. Adjustments; maybe we’re looking at all those pieces scattered around. Those aren’t very emotional placements, and we’re more comfortable with rationalizing right now.
Thursday, August 29 - Friday, August 30:
Sun/Virgo semi-sextile Juno/Libra, 6°47’
Sun/Virgo trine Ceres/Capricorn, 7°32’
Sun/Virgo (8°00’) sesquiquad Chiron Rx/Aries (23°00’)
Sun/Virgo inconjunct North Node/Aries, semi-sextile South Node/Libra, 8°01’
We like that Sun-Ceres trine a lot - I’m hoping we remember that bumps in the road are inevitable. This period before the New Moon can be spent not only envisioning the future, but planning how to get there. (And having good Plans B, C, and if necessary D!)
Monday, September 2 - Tuesday, September 3:
Sun/Virgo (10°31’) sesquiquad Eris Rx/Aries
New Moon, 11°04’ Virgo
This New Moon is practical, pushed a little bit by anger and resentments. But instead of fretting ourselves senseless, or wallowing in false humility, we can work on the reasons for that anger.
Saturday, September 7 - Sun/Virgo opposite Saturn Rx/Pisces, 16°02’. As mentioned above, this is the day the “shadow of the eclipse” starts - and with an opposition to Saturn Rx, ouch. Shun any feelings of hopelessness, with the determination to do your best.
Thursday, September 12 - Sun/Virgo square Jupiter/Gemini, 20°10’. Lots of ways this can go: being overwhelmed with how much work there is to do; not sticking with any approach long enough for it to be effective - the most likely ones. Pick a place to start, and then start.
Saturday, September 14 - Sun/Virgo inconjunct Chiron Rx/Aries, 22°30’. Possible health problems from taking on too much. Hurt feelings, being humiliated - and we may be the ones dishing that out.
Tuesday, September 17 - Wednesday, September 18:
Sun/Virgo inconjunct Eris Rx/Aries, 25°15’
Full Moon/Eclipse, 25°41’ Pisces
It’s a lunar eclipse, with the Moon on the North Node. There is a need to “own” our past traumas, and acknowledge where we need to heal. We can’t be the heroes we need to be, before that happens.
Thursday, September 19 - Saturday, September 21:
Sun/Virgo trine Uranus Rx/Taurus, 27°07’
Sun/Virgo opposite Neptune Rx/Pisces, 28°31’
Sun/Virgo trine Pluto Rx/Capricorn, 29°44’
This a pretty amazing cosmic event - having a “double sextile” aspect pattern between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The last time this happened was back in the early/mid 1940s - and we all know what was happening then, as well as the types of people born then. (Keith Richards!) A Virgo Sun is interested in playing some small but essential part - here, between eclipses, we can “tune in” to that generational planet energy.

Little thoughts and feelings about Update Dawn part 9| part 2
Twilight! Speaking of the role of a hero now, is probably not the best time. He nearly died, yes the others are going to be more cautious now, but Twi dying isn’t the best way to be an example…

(Perhaps my current power would disgrace the proud green I wear.
Twilight is quoting the Hero’s Shade »You may be destined to become the hero of legend...but your current power would disgrace the proud green of the hero's tunic you wear.«)
A lot of people have the theory that, Malon wrote in her letters that she might be pregnant. Jojo said she had ideas for a Malink kid in mind, but the concept would be shown in an epilogue, taking place after the events of the comic. Maybe Jojo changed that?
Yet I can’t explain why, but I have a feeling that there is more about this.

Theory: The way Time address the situation, feels like a new hope. Personally I think, they tried to have children before, yet Malon never got pregnant, so they both gave up.
Of course not being able to have children, would add the fate of the ranche and business to their minds.
When their visited Lon Lon, Malon and Time talked about hiring people to work there, nothing out of the ordinary, but once mention of Ingo dropped Time gets extremely defensive. Probably remembering how Ingo stole Lon Lon in one future, even when Malon was still there and had the right to have it!
Twilight existence proving their beliefs false and that there is still hope for a child. (And the future of Lon Lon Ranche, which still exists in Tear of the Kingdom)
Reminder that Time will die with regret. Wonder how or if Jojo will bring up the Howling Stones into all of this. Since it’s implied that the Hero of Time made those stone to be summoned. Maybe Twilight will tell Time about his fate…but we also have the "Someone will die" message…

I call them, the bestes of friends! Four really out there taking emotions serious, love this short king in particular!

Love Twilight’s optimism so much! He really wants to learn more, see more, help more! Like all Links, yes, but the fact that he is so open about it! No wonder he and Legend would get so close!

Wild, the other emotion king, really will not end cheering his friend up until they’re really happy!

Heyyy wassupp
(This is my first time using Tumblr after a long period of time so idk if I'm requesting how i should)
I'm not sure if you take SFW requests but if you do, here's my request:
Ingo and Emmet having a partner that is trans (Both FTM or MTF are fine) finally decides to tell them, but they're really shy about telling them?
Thank you! :)
Hi! Congratulations for sending your first request! Yes I do sfw and nsfw
I've always to right about something like this but keep in mind that I am not trans so if I get things wrong please please tell me! Because again I am not trans and I don't want to either spread false information or say something that's potentially hurtful or insensitive.
Trans!Reader x Ingo
Trans!reader x emmet
Shy Reader coming out to Ingo and Emmet as trans.
Emmet
He noticed something was off in your behavior recently; being very perceptive to behavior changes, the slightest difference could send him questioning. He knew you were shy, but you seemed more dismissive than fearful; immediately, he asked if you were okay, and you were scared stiff that your boyfriend was already on to you. He answered,' Yeah... I just wanted to talk to you later.' his heart was pounding, and Emmet was freaking out on the inside. He knew you were lying. The look on your face was everything. It was all he thought about. If something were bothering you, then he would want to know now at this second. So he could either fix the problem or make you feel better, but he knew that if it was important to you, then he should never press and force you to tell him until you're ready, no matter how much he doesn't like when you keep things from him.
His heart was pounding when he saw you again you look like you were ready to cry as you talked very Softly your voice breaking is you struggled to find your words. He waited, wanting to physically comfort you as you find what you were trying to say. When you finally tell him that the gender he's always known you as wasn't what you were born with. You frozen fear when you saw his face; however, his Blank Stare turned into something else when he sighed in relief.
No it wasn't because you were trans in fact he was extremely happy with the fact that you took the courage to come out to him. He reassured that he would always love you no matter who you were....
"then what about that sigh of relief and that look on his face?" You ask because of that split moment it did kind of freak you out.
"Oh when you wanted to talk I thought we were breaking up. I prepared for the worst. I'm verrrrry glad it wasn't that." Emmet said a hand scratching the back of his head feeling nervous about the whole thing that Signature Smile of his becoming softer.
He apologizes for how he acted earlier and if he had scared you. And the two of you got ice cream/lunch to celebrate.
Ingo
At first, he has a million questions. He reassures you that at any time, if you'd like to talk about it, please take your time to tell him. He does not pick up on your change in Behavior. However when you do tell him in his head, he tries to find the problem before you even try to talk to him all day. It's just questions about the times he was slightly annoying and vowed to change it.
When you wanted to talk about anything important it could never be in a public place since Ingo is still struggling with his volume control. And even then Ingo tried to talk a little quiet at you he's not sure if it actually helps or not he just doesn't want to become too much.
He takes all important talks with you with the utmost seriousness. You adore it but at the same time it's a little scary. It's really hard when he looks you directly in the eye. as you begin talking he listens, taking it every word, but he couldn't stay quiet for long occasionally making small comments as you continue with your story of when before you transition to gather your courage.
Then you told him his eyes widening. You were scared at first even though that face of shock was something you expected. But your worries quickly dissipated and your eardrums as well when Ingo shouted excitedly "BRAVO!! CONGRADULATIONS!!" He was sad that he wasn't there too celebrate with you when you transitioned or any Milestone that you went past or support your hardships and at the same time he was extremely happy that you told him this information and trusted him with it and it just all rolled into excitement.
His Outburst almost scared the trans out of you but nonetheless you were extremely happy he took it well giving him a smile despite your ears now ringing. Realizing what are you done he immediately starts apologizing for his outburst. He offers to take you out to a restaurant and pay for dinner anywhere you want.

Fellow submas fans what are your favorite reunion scenarios
And I want to hear two things from y’all:
1. Your favorite way to imagine the reunion happening in your head
2. Your favorite reunion scene in a currently existing fanfiction (AND TELL ME THE FIC/LINK IT SO I CAN READ IT IF I HAVEN’T ALREADY)
My response to prompt 1 turned longer than expected so I’m putting it under the read more, but my answer to 2 is fucking @dittolicous’s fic ‘the only way to be sure of catching a train is to miss the one before it’ I swear to god it’s the most delicious submas fic I’ve ever read I have reread it so many times purely for the reunion alone but then I get sucked into the rest because it’s just a beautiful story and all of the characterization is my absolute favorite and. It. Is. AMAZING.
HERE’S THE LINK. READ IT.
Anyway my answer to #1 is below the cut- it’s long- it got away from me- I would love for y’all to read it but if you don’t it’s chill and I’d still love to hear your own thoughts on my prompts-
For me for #1 I LOVE the idea of Ingo getting his memories back but somehow the reunion is still a surprise for both him and Emmet. The way I have it play out in my head is a whole story that could hypothetically be a fanfiction if it weren’t for the fact that I have very few details lined out and also that takes effort.
But essentially Volo’s still being a bitch but after a talk with Akari, Arceus realizes some of the mistakes it made with bringing her into Hisui with no prior warning and forcing her to tackle everything alone, so it approaches her and Ingo to request their help in stopping Volo once and for all, returning both of their memories at the same time. It also promises to send them help, but does not elaborate on what the help will exactly look like. It does say that it will call on them for assistance once it has chosen those who will join them. It also says that if they are successful in their endeavors, they will be rewarded with one favor from the God.
Naturally after getting his memories back Ingo’s a whole mess of grief but having committed to staying in Hisui for the time being he has no choice but to stay. In this, Akari is Dawn the DPP protag and Arceus gave her a false memory of what her name was when she was sent to Hisui. She’s also not doing super great after getting her memories back but not as bad as Ingo who was there longer than her (I’ve settled on 4 years for Ingo and 1.5 years for Dawn)
However, Arceus may have seemed like it was still deciding who to send when it spoke to them, but it already knew exactly who to send.
And it involved righting the wrongs committed by Volo and Giratina with the space-time distortions.
Cut to modern day Unova! Emmet is a wreck in his brother’s absense, but he’s doing better than he was in the first couple years. Things have changed for those Ingo left behind; Elesa and Skyla start dating while he’s gone in this fic, and I like to imagine that Iris becomes Champion in his absense (specifically because Hil(da/bert) were still missing, so Unova technically had no Champion and Alder had fully retired from the battling scene. This was leading to complications in getting clearance to branch out the search for Ingo to other regions and Iris, fully sick of it, challenges the League herself and Drayden calls in a favor from Alder to get her a ‘Champion’ to battle. And she ends up being one of Unova’s best Champions in many different ways! Also I imagine the events of BW2 absolutely happened except Rosa/Nate decided not to challenge the Elite Four. Oh god that was quite a tangent uh)
And then one night four years after his disappearance (and like two weeks after Arceus asks Ingo and Dawn for their help), Emmet and Elesa both have the same very weird dream.
In which Arceus asks them both for their assistance, because shit’s going down in ancient Sinnoh and it needs more human help in getting it to stop. It does NOT tell them why EXACTLY they specifically are being asked, just that there IS a specific reason it’s asking them of all people and that they won’t regret going. It gives them two days to think and decide, also offering them the reward of a favor if they succeed.
This gives the two of them time to not only decide, but also TELL THEIR LOVED ONES THAT THIS IS HAPPENING
Emmet’s initially hesitant about doing it, but the favor seals the deal for him. With no context to what Arceus is doing at this point, he is determined to try to use the favor he will receive from the God to get Ingo back. He doesn’t really tell anyone except Elesa, not wanting to get anyone’s hopes up in case Arceus is unable to help, but deep down he hopes that if NOTHING else he will at least get closure.
Elesa was down from the start, she has no reason to say no and the favor is very enticing. For reasons.
(Cute side note I only have Elesa’s favor decided on. And she asks Arceus to ensure that on her and Skyla’s wedding day, the weather will be absolutely perfect. Perfect temperature, partly cloudy, slight breeze. Just exactly what they need for a beautiful wedding. And Arceus gifts her a pen that it tells her to write the date down with once it is decided upon and it will make sure it happens.)
(I also think that up until that point the two of them had absolutely talked about getting married but Elesa wasn’t ready because she had decided years ago that if she ever got married she wanted the twins to walk her down the aisle (bad relationship with her parents) and. yeah)
Anyway! They were instructed to go to Sinnoh if they decided to go and so Skyla flies them there (she doesn’t stay in Sinnoh, it was made quite clear that Emmet and Elesa would potentially be gone for a couple months (and they are)). They go up Mount Coronet and climb The Stairs into Arceus’s domain to meet with Arceus in the flesh this time.
Where, before sending them to Hisui, it tells them a story. About a man named Volo, who wished to remake the world so no one would suffer, so he manipulated Giratina into doing his bidding and started ripping tears open in space-time. Creating space-time distortions, and eventually even the rift above Mount Coronet.
It also says that when were opened, usually they connected Hisui to the modern world, and usually, the rift openings that were much smaller in the modern day than in Hisui, would open in areas far enough away from human civilization to prevent humans from being sucked through them.
With one notable exception.
Arceus reveals that four years ago, one particular distortion opened in the Hisuian Icelands that connected specifically to the subway tunnels underneath Nimbasa City.
And Emmet and Elesa understand instantly.
Both are a mess at this point, Emmet much more so. He hadn’t expected to get answers right off the bat. But there’s the terror rising in his heart of if his brother was dropped into unfamiliar, freezing cold territory 200 years in the past, would he have survived that???
He asks Arceus with a choked voice if his brother is still alive.
Arceus responds by calling Ingo into its domain, having called upon him prior to this to ‘ensure that those it was sending to the past would have someone to guide them through the unfamiliar time and place’.
Leaving the twins open to having a truly glorious, loud, and extremely emotional surprise reunion.
(Aside from knowing it wanted to send Ingo and Dawn’s loved ones back to be reunited with them, Arceus thought it would be VERY funny to have a team of six humans like humans have teams of six Pokemon. Barry and Lucas end up being the other two sent back to Hisui, to reunite with Dawn.)
I have not a lot of details about the meat of this story figured out. The vague outline is Emmet having separation anxiety, Elesa feeling like a weight is lifted off of her shoulders because she no longer has to grieve Ingo while simultaneously keep Emmet going despite his own heavier grief, Ingo having serious identity issues and feeling inadequate because he forgot Emmet while his brother grieved him so heavily, so he doesn’t talk to him about his own trauma and grief and ends up having a mental breakdown eventually that Emmet helps him through, and Volo has found some other legendary from another region that he’s using to try and remake the world again. I haven’t decided which one.
And then once Volo is beat they go home, both twins firmly convinced that their reunion was Arceus granting them their favors early as ya know, Emmet wanted his brother back and Ingo wanted his FAMILY back. Arceus catches on to this and promptly informs them that no, that was part of its plan from the beginning, that it was merely righting a wrong it should have righted long before then, and that their favors are still very much available to them. They do not use them at that time, since they did not expect to still have the favors, and they did not have anything else in mind.
(Elesa asks for her aforementioned one on the spot. At this point she’s so excited to have a much more serious conversation with Skyla about their future, and with her best friend alive and safely home, she’s finally ready for the next step.)
All the weary time travelers are returned to modern Sinnoh. Skyla hops on her plane the moment Elesa calls. They all go to Twinleaf town, Unovans included while they wait for Skyla. Dawn reunites with her Mom.
Skyla is fucking ecstatic when she sees Ingo’s alive, and they fly home to Unova after saying goodbye to Dawn, Barry, Lucas, and Johanna. They specifically fly to Opelucid, thinking Uncle Drayden’s house is a better place for Ingo to readjust to the modern day than their apartment in the middle of bustling Nimbasa City.
They are absolutely correct, but that doesn’t stop the breakdown Ingo has when he finally comes to terms with the fact that he’s home and can rest and not have to worry about his safety in the wilderness with angry wild Pokemon constantly posing threats to his well-being.
But he has his family by his side, who are more than happy to help him through it :3
