In today's Adventuring Party it's mentioned that Fabian's first experience with the other dance bards was basically a sink or swim acceptance of their Thespian Energy™. The only way to survive was to embrace the shameless absurdity of the situation or be destroyed. Fabian succeeded.

As I thought about the Gorgug's talk with Porter , it might be a similar situation, but with Barbarians. Porter outright told Gorgug that he doesn't embrace his own rage, and it's self evident throughout their conversation. No well worded argument as to why Gorgug should multiclass would have ever convinced him, I think. When Porter mishandles Cloaca, Gorgug tries to politely correct him before simply giving up.

In this instance, Porter has made himself a massive wall blocking Gorgug's desires, and is being incredibly unfair to Gorgug. What does Gorgug do? He simply accepts it. Gorgug will rage and put his blood on the line for his friends, but has some issues with standing up for himself. I can think of two, maybe three instances where he has. 1) The first fight with Fabian. 2) When he slams Ragh into the lockers. And 3) when he tries to correct Telemaine on how to pronounce his name and that one was a purely verbal conversation that went nowhere.

In short, I think the correct answer to the conversation was for Gorgug to get mad. To respond to the clear unfairness and go "Hey fuck you!!" To punch through that wall and go "This isn't a fucking question, I'm going to multiclass." In the end, Gorgug still has yet to embrace being a barbarian.

"Ow! What was that for?" You complained making your nose crunch a little. "Oh sorry darling didn't mean to just don't like how they look at you they look they're gonna fuck you right here.." he said in a low tone, you laughed a little it was cute seeing him jealous you massage the back of his hair calming him down. "Well they can look but they can't tough right" you said teasingly in his ears making you smirk. "That's right..in the end Im the ones who's destroying this dress by the end of the night" He kissed you on the lips smudging your lipstick a little "Ugh! My lipstick!" You said while fixing your lips, he caressed your hair while his freehand held your hand mirror to fix your lipstick taking out your favourite Lippie from your purse and re-applying it.

i see the term gender horror used alot in certain parts of asoiaf fandom and i dont think i fully get it like sure theres def a rigid and violently enforced structure to gender and sexual violence is both ubiquitous and a currency but is it just those things or is there something beyond i feel like its not clicking for me

honestly im p sure it is just those things lol you got it. i think asoiaf does take the violent structure of gender and commits to exploring it to its most remote extremes, so you get stuff like sam being chained up and bathed in blood or gilly being forced into marriage with her father or however many other examples of gendering as an abusive practice (as requiring you to either do violence (masculinity) or bear violence (femininity) to participate in society). which i think is where the horror part comes from, the extremity of it? the no-holds-barred dont-look-away blood-under-everything structural inescapability of it. idk that’s how i view it at least

Fabian and Riz to me are like. They’re like the definition of “a secret third thing” to me but not like in a qpr way. Their thing is just Their Thing, like they’re inseparable they drive each other fucking bonkers they care so deeply and they’re stupid teenagers and I don’t think they would even really think about it at all. I don’t think either of them can imagine a world where they’re not at least around the other, and like whatever their thing is definitely isn’t allo but it’s definitely not regular besties shit. They just like being around each other, I don’t think either of them would really even think to put a name to whatever it is they’ve got going on, and I definitely don’t think either of them would ever put enough thought into it to even figure out what a qpr is, much less label themselves in one. They’re just Fabian and Riz. The Ball and Captain of the Owlbears. They’re just them I think. Idk man.

i always was sad that the gbf wiki archived a lot of events (don't get me wrong i'm really grateful for that) but not msq, so i decided to make an archive of gbf's msq on my website.

you never know when gbf could eos, and yeah videos of msq exist (which i'm also grateful for), but having a transcript is really important and i've taken it upon myself to be the one who does it.

right now i have completely archived all of arc 1, and next week i'll be starting on act 2. 👍 it's a slow process and there's only one guy behind it (me) so please be patient! not all links are working and there might be some errors floating around. but anyway...

Does anyone else remember how during ACoC people kept trying to prove that Caramelinda was somehow in on [redacted's] betrayal and was actually evil? And do we all remember how many times Brennan had to say "No, she's not evil or Bad or anything, she's just a woman who is trying really hard to make the best decisions she can with the information she has in the heinous circumstances she's in"??? Do we remember Brennan having to tell the Bad Kids that Zayne Darkshadow isn't just some cringefail fucking edgelord but a child who suffered greatly in his life and then DIED?

Does anyone else remember Kalina literally having to snap her own neck to get the Bad Kids to realize that she might not be just *blanket evil*?

I feel like I'm seeing something very similar happening with Porter and Kipperlily and I really hope Brennan once again subverts the idea that just because a character is antagonistic they are inherently Bad or Evil.

Also, just a reminder Protagonist = main character Antagonist = person opposing/challenging the main character
