we can all agree this is unacceptable, right?
“I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking is a normal thing to do to people who are famous,” [Chappell Roan] says in the aforementioned TikTok, which has since gone viral. “I don’t care that it’s normal. I don’t care that this crazy type of behavior comes along with the career field I’ve chosen. That does not make it OK. That doesn’t make it normal. It doesn’t mean I want it. It doesn’t mean that I like it. I don’t want whatever the fuck you think you’re supposed to be entitled to whenever you see a celebrity.” [...] Roan is far from the first artist to push back on these expectations. She’s the latest in a string of young, mostly female pop stars, like Eilish, Doja Cat, and Reneé Rapp, who have expressed their discomfort at the parasocial expectations that come with being in the spotlight. It’s a risky sentiment to share in a world where one of the worst things a woman can be is rude. But at this point, it can’t possibly be shocking. In her 2022 documentary, the actor and singer Selena Gomez said, “Everything I’ve ever wished for, I’ve had and done all of it. But it has killed me.” That sums up everything that’s wrong with the current fan–artist dynamic. We are asking too much, and we are chasing a level of intimacy that simply isn’t sustainable. In the process, we reward the stars who try to give us every piece of themselves, and we find reasons to villainize the ones who make an effort to protect themselves.
We're overdue for an internet Come-To-Jesus moment about this

Okay so I'm gonna ramble more about 'The Wild Robot': spoiler alert:
Tumblr media
Brightbill was never supposed to come this far, he's what they call a runt, the odds were stacked against him from the beginning of his life. He got raised by Roz and became the odd man out, they bullied him, no one accepted him. All that happens and he starts internalizing that hate..
Tumblr media
But then the importance of a support system is shown, because even as Brightbill wants to quit, Roz won't let him, and not only her but Fink and Thunderbolt start supporting him too:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is so amazing, because what Brightbill has been led to believe is a disadvantage Thunderbolt lets him know it's not, that it's even beautiful.
Tumblr media
Not only that but he compliments Brightbills wings after making him, not letting him, but making him show his wings off, rewiring his beliefs.
Tumblr media
Then you have the way Longneck took him under his wing among all those bullies, and all he did was be gentle with him and believing in him, and they did an amazing job in showing how important that is, making Brightbill take the lead to get all the geese out.
Tumblr media
What made me even more emotional is that this moment Roz tells him: "Remember, there's nothing he can do that you can't". We see him repeating the same thing later on
Tumblr media
motivating the rest the same way his momma did...
Tumblr media
"Fly like you, not like them". You may not be able to fly like them, but you can fly like you, and it might take a little longer and a little more work, but you'll get there.
Its so beautiful to see what wonders a support system does. What a beautiful movie to all the people who grew up or are living with disadvantages that slow their progress, this gives some hope, that Endurance is a mighty force, we'll get there eventually.

When fighting Glitches, Mitch has Doom Eternal music playing in his head and Miko has Ultrakill music.
What I mean by this is that Mitch views himself as (and honestly is) a badass, is decked out in the highest level, maximum efficiency weapons available including a lot of high tech guns, would, could and probably has performed glory kills on at least some glitches and his idea of a slow day on patrol still has him recreating this bit of Doom’s concept art.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Miko constantly has this in the corner of her vision, and frankly, she’s going for a P Rank.
Tumblr media
They are equally matched.

Ngl the liam lawson hate is getting real tiring
#it isn't even the 2nd race yet#and anyway before the season even started so many ppl were giving him shit#so it's obv not even rational#and for goodness' sake he's been thrown into the deep end with the intense scrutiny & that messed up car#don't bother trying to validate ur hate reasoning here cuz believe me when I say I won't gaf#the decision to put him in rbr wasn't even his fault#'he's so arrogant' biatch we have barely seen him#and news flash all of them are 'proud' in some way or another cuz they're in the big leagues#also most have just been referencing dts??? which everyone should know by now is the furthest thing from a reliable source#(anyway honestly he's fine in the dts clips so idk what ppl r yapping abt)#news flash he did NOT take DR's seat#he did NOT take checo's seat#he did NOT take yuki's seat#the decision ultimately wasn't up to him and it's stupid to rag on the guy for it#(and I say this as a fan/chill with those 3 drivers)#it is what it is and anyway thr's a non-zero chance rbr will swap him out if he doesn't perform#srsly tho I've seen so many ppl being so quick to jump at the chance to shit on him which baffles me cuz like what has he even done#he's barely been in f1#liam lawson#chinese gp 2025#also he hasn't had the chance to race prop in months? and like I said the rb is kinda messed up rn#and also he hadn't raced at australia ever#if yall r talking abt his reaction in the car last yr ok but it doesn't warrant the lvl of hate he gets?#and AGAIN all the drivers are high on adrenaline in the races bruh be fr#the drivers get over shit much faster than most of yall (if ever) do#side note: max is also a Freak at racing so expecting liam to immediately perform in a car that even max is struggling with is smt...#anyway it's so stupid how so many of yall yap abt mental health and criticise dts for spreading hate while spreading hate urselves.

Having ocd while being in an abusive environment really does exacerbate every aspect of ocd because when you already have an idea in your head that Certain Things are always indicative/precursors of Other Things no matter how irrational, and you are then surrounded by people/an environment where everything you do is monitored and scrutinised, and punished at random, then every little thing you do must be purposeful, with an excuse ready on your tongue for any which way said person(s) might react. and so it creates an idea in your mind that, therefore, every little detail of your life can also be used to (mis)characterise you or reveal something secretly horrible about you. You start to think you're actually just inherently evil and bad and so everything you do must be an attempt to disprove that, to show you're not a lost cause, and so the idea of "just do something for fun/do something just because/do something on a whim" is not just an impossible mindset to naturally have, it is also a dangerous one.

why is it that there's always one raging asshole on any project. and the moment one asshole leaves, another always steps up to take his place. these people are miserable to work with. they're rude, they're combative, they're condescending, they're always moving the goalposts and twisting things so nothing is ever their fault.
anyway I'm joking but also i think I should be allowed to assassinate one (1) person on a project every few years as needed.

Yeah I agree, I don’t think trading any big players is smart. They are a good team, especially in the regular season. They are just missing something in playoffs. It sucks they haven’t found the answer, but I’m sure they will 😃
i mostly think the leafs org problem is that they buy into the whole 'grit is the most important' factor in the playoffs.. and for two years now, they've been extra gritty.. out hit opponents.. and still fallen short where it counts. i think something about the style of play just doesn't match the actual assets we have in our highly skilled offensive players, and i think it doesn't help that we have a lot of dmen who can't skate well or move pucks and create offense to save their lives. like yes, not getting pushed around is important and space disappears in the playoffs, but sometimes those are problems you can outskate? if you lean into the rush game... getting faster.... idk. panthers series last year and now this one are just proof that we need more goal scoring than anything else under the current approach. to me, it's not that someone like mitch just 'disappears,' it's that the way this team is being taught to handle the game isn't letting him thrive. we've only seen 2 coaches with all this talent so far, so i'd be curious to see a fresh look, but i don't by any means hate sheldon or think he's done a bad job. something about it just hasnt translated to the playoffs, and it's tough to see glimpses of fun hockey that we see more often in the regular season under the mess of tight and gritty playoff games. i don't buy that it HAS to be that way... i watch teams like the oilers and stars and vegas and like. they're fast and efficient and opportunistic, lol. better than us but we HAVE the talent to be like that.
