Guys, I finally have a WIP!

I’m working on character sheets right now, so no actual content yet, but let me know if y’all want to hear anything about it, see excerpts once I start the manuscript, etc. I do have a basic plot, though. Feel free to send me an ask if there’s anything specific you want to know! It can be about a character, about the plot, anything.

I’m super nervous and excited about this, so I could use all the support I can get, not only encouragement for writing, but also getting the work a little bit out there so I can see what people think about it. If y’all know about any resources I can use, that would also be great.

For a really long time, I’ve had a lot of opinions, and no place to put them or express them. Today, this changes. Through the inspiration of my English teacher, today I’m beginning my journey of self-expression through blogging. I can’t say how often I’ll post, or if these posts will always be serious and important, but I can promise that they’ll be honest and as factual as possible.

What inspired this blog?

As I’ve already said, this blog was inspired by my 11th grade English teacher, Mr. McCalley (hope he doesn’t mind my saying his name!). He read an essay I wrote and told me that I have a “blogger’s voice” and told me to consider opening a blog. Well... here we are! I hope he continues to support my blog as it grows and I express my thoughts here.

Who am I?

My name is Brooklyn, but I also go by Kat. At the time of this blog’s creation, I am three days short of 17. I’m almost an adult, but I know there’s still a lot of youth left in me. I want to share my take on the world and hope that someone will listen to it. I hope that by reading about me and my life, others will open up and express their thoughts too.

Why am I here?

Well, I would say that I’m here because opinions matter to me. I like to hear other people’s opinions, and I like to share my own, but I struggle to express them coherently when talking. Writing is much easier to me, and so here I am, blogging out my thoughts on Tumblr!
