There weren’t a lot of Red and Fez scenes but the ones we did get were pretty hilarious. Love how Red is holding Fez by the back of his shirt collar as he walks with him to try to sober him up 🤣Such a great and funny detail.

Hey Megan, I have a question for you.
If you had written season 8 of T7S (and the entirety of That 90s Show), what would you have done?
Season 8:
Donna: Goes back to being a redhead. Applies to UW Milwaukee, but is in community college in the meantime. She starts interning for the Point Place Chronicle, while still doing WFPP sometimes. She deals with a nightmare boss. She and Eric are still together, obviously.
Eric: He's about the same, minus breaking up with Donna and he doesn't get shit on all the time. He gets kicked out of the program, after questioning apartheid. He and Donna now plan to go to UW Milwaukee together.
Fez: Laurie is his new roommate, and it's revealed they never really divorced. They both go to cosmetology school, and hijinks ensue. Fez, slowly but surely, returns to his season 4 self.
Hyde: He and Jackie reconcile, and at some point, they get engaged. Hyde wants to wait for a wedding. Jackie is impatient. He still lives with the Formans, but he's about to move out with Jackie. He and Jackie are going to move to Milwaukee together. Kitty suffers with imminent empty nest syndrome.
Jackie: Also applies to UW Milwaukee, and is in community college in the meantime. She and Donna are studying journalism together. She still has a disastrous internship (this time) with Christine St George, and she tries to come to terms with essentially wasting her semester. But she wants to continue, as someone who is way better than Christine St George.
Kelso: He's about the same, but he's a cop, and he and Brooke officially get together.
That 00s Show: With no irl constraints, obv.
It'll take place in the early-mid 00s, when the gang's gang are most likely to be teens. Y2k nostalgia is definitely more prominent, atm, anyway. Anywho.
Eric and Donna live next door to Jackie and Hyde, in Chicago. ED, JH, and the kids are the main focus, as well as KB's son Jay (16).
Eric is a history teacher, ala Mr Feeny, at the school where the kids attend. ED's eldest kid is constantly humiliated. Donna works for the Chicago Sun Times.
Eric and Donna have two daughters (16 and 12), one of which is a tween and is the Matt McGuire nuisance type. The tween crushes on the older Hyde boy. The older ED daughter has been best friends with JH's daughter for the longest time, but she doesn't like Jay, and they're beginning to drift apart.
*****
Jackie has her own TV show, and Hyde owns a Grooves. Grooves, like The Hub, is a default hang out spot for the kids. Hyde imparts his wisdom, sometimes.
Jackie and Hyde have a daughter (16) and a son (14). The daughter is interested in Jay, and Hyde is overprotective and annoyed.
So, the gang includes...
Jay Kelso. Jackie and Hyde's son and daughter, William "Will" and Sarah. Eric and Donna's older daughter Alexandra "Allie." Fez and Rhonda's LGBTQ son Julian (15), and his black boyfriend Tony (15). Plus, there's ED's daughter Lucy on the fringes.
It's not that far off from my verse, obviously. I just had to do some things to make it less drama-filled and more comedic. Aka, omit Laurie and her brood, and the seriously troubling behavior of my OC Leah (ED's younger daughter).

Summary: Jackie changes Hyde's physical appearance while he’s passed-out drunk to save their relationship, only he doesn't know their relationship needs saving. Her big plan: entering them and their friends in a Brady Bunch lookalike contest in Las Vegas.
FFnet / A03
Note: Not a new story but a new summary that better describes the content. This is a fun and deep fic that I think some readers have missed out on due to the original summary being too vague.

Do you have Fez ships? I know you dislike him but were there any pairings of his you like in the earlier seasons?
I really liked him and Rhonda together, and I found Caroline really interesting. I wish they hadn’t played her BP for laughs. Iirc, Fez generally treated her well, ignoring the name calling behind her back.

Cool question! I'm going with one song per couple, sticking to the 1970s (or earlier, but songs canon / potentially canon to the characters).
Eric/Donna: "Thirteen" by Big Star
This song is their song on the show (or is used to represent their relationship on the show), and it fits them perfectly. I can't hear it without thinking of them.
Jackie/Hyde: "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin
I viscerally experience Jackie and Hyde as soulmates, and this song captures that feeling. It's by Hyde's favorite band. He gives Jackie his favorite shirt, which is a Led Zeppelin shirt, signaling that he sees no end date for their relationship (and Hyde's commitment to her). Plus, if we take as canon the T7S character diary entries posted on the series' official website when the show aired, Jackie likes Zeppelin's live songs.
Kelso/Brooke: "Take a Chance on Me" by ABBA
This song played in the original airing of "I'm a Boy" (6x08). The lyrics encapsulate Kelso's POV toward Brooke perfectly.
Fez/Rhonda: "Feels Like the First Time" by Foreigner
This song played in the original airing of "Tornado Prom" (4x15). In this episode, Fez thinks he and Rhonda will have sex the actual first time. That aside, the songs lyrics express Fez's feelings for Rhonda well. (The band's name is an unfortunate coincidence.)
Red/Kitty: "Golden Years" by David Bowie
This song played in the original airing of "Red's New Job" (2x14). After everything Red and Kitty have been through together, including the loss of Red's twenty-plus years job at the auto-parts factory, I think the lyrics of "Golden Years" fit them.
Which songs do you think fits each couple in the show?

In response to people making arguments such as:
"Hyde slut shaming Laurie was not okay!" and being all bewildered by it, let's take a look at most of the jokes on this show.
Eric gets made fun of for being skinny, having a big head, potentially a small penis (it is alluded to) and not being a traditionally masculine man.
Donna gets made fun of for her height, the size of her hands and feet and not being traditionally feminine.
Hyde gets made fun of for being an "orphan", coming from a broken home and being poor.
Jackie gets made fun of for being short and having a shrill and annoying voice. (among other things)
Kelso gets made fun of for his lack of intelligence.
Fez gets made fun of for being a foreign, having an accent and not being white.
Kitty gets made fun of for her annoying laugh.
In one episode Bob gets made fun of for being bald and wearing a toupee.
Big Rhonda gets made fun of for being plus sized.
So tell me, are any of these things okay to make fun of? You think it's okay to make fun of a person's height, body, background or voice, things that they cannot control, but draw the line at Laurie sleeping with many men, which is something she can easily change?
The point of this is not that I condone slut shaming. The point is that it's jokes and all characters show each other tough love. So where do you draw the line? If you choose that something is unacceptable, then soon more and more things become unacceptable and problematic, until nothing is okay anymore and all of the show's humor is gone.
And this is not just about That 70s Show, this can be said about any old sitcom.

Chicago, Illinois. The gang's home, in my verse.
"Chicago is my home. Point Place sucks." -One of the kids
They've all escaped the confines of Point Place, and are raising their kids on the North Side of Chicago. Jackie and Hyde live next door to Eric and Donna. Kelso and Brooke are a stone throw's south, and Fez and Rhonda are a stone throw's north. Life is good.

Fictober Day 3: "I know you better"
That '70s Show Fanfiction
Fez had finished tempering chocolate in his industrial kitchen at home. He was trying out a recipe he created for Halloween candy. Rhonda designed packaging, and he hoped the manufacturer would deliver it in time.
The molds he'd designed himself months ago. He poured chocolate into them and slid the tray into his refrigerator. The pumpkin- and gost-shaped candies needed twenty minutes to set. It should go well, but his insides were melting with anxiety.
He wiped his sweaty hands on his apron, and Rhonda shouted, "Cocoa Puff!" Rhonda behind him. He stumbled from the refrigerator to her arms. "I'm sorry," she said and positioned him upright. 'I forget that you disappear into a different world when you're working."
"Yes. I did not expect you back for a half-hour."
"It's already past two. I'm starving!" She grasped the refrigerator handle, but he shouted at her to stop. "What's wrong?"
He grabbed frozen pork chops from the freezer. "Wrong? Nothing is wrong."
"I know you better -- and your voice is two octaves higher than usual."
He put the foil-wrapped pork chops into a pot, placed the pot in the sink, filled the pot with hot water, and weighed down the pork chops with a ceramic canister. "They will be defrosted before your hunger devours you."
She cupped his chin and pecked his lips. "Thanks. Now what's devouring you?"
Ah, his mashed potato was so perceptive. He wouldn't know what to do without her, and that was the problem. Her parents had discovered oil on their Mississippi dirt farm, taking them out poverty to the rich life. They were the real Beverly Hillbillies, except they had remained in Mississippi.
"I'm worried my candies will not be good enough for Miss Kitty's Halloween party."
Rhonda laugh-snorted. "It's only October third. You've been working on this candy for a month and have another month to perfect them. So what's actually bothering you?"
Fez glanced around the industrial kitchen. Their house in Kenosha was bigger than he believed he would ever live in. "What am I offering you?"
"Fez -- " she gestured to the sink -- "you're making me lunch."
"Ai, that is not enough! You're getting a PhD in kinesiology ... did I pronounce that correctly?" She nodded, and Fez continued. "Your career will help people. Becoming a chocolatier will make me happy. I hurt you to make me happy, too, but you forgave the unforgivable."
He ripped off his apron and tossed it to the floor. His life was a sham.
Rhonda picked up his apron. "Hey, that was over a decade ago, and you were under a bad influence."
"Do not use Casey Kelso to excuse my behavior. I am a horrible, horrible man."
"What's bringing all this up now? I don't get it. We're happy. Having a career that makes you happy will help other people. Remember Willy Wonka -- the movie version." She held his apron to her chest and sighed. "Gene Wilder is so sexy in it."
"Yes, he is. I suppose ... well ... " Fez ran his palm over the cold granite counter top. "Halloween is our favorite holiday -- and the anniversary of when we reconciled. This year, it feels more important than ever."
Rhonda slipped the apron over his head and embraced him. "Mr. and Mrs. Forman basically said it is. They've recruited all of us for her party. Even Kelso, Brooke, and Betsy, and they live in Chicago! We're only in Kenosha."
"And Jackie and Hyde live in Milwaukee. Perhaps the pressure is bringing up feelings I have not completely dealt with."
"We're gonna turn thirty next year. We have a lot of plans. I can't be your shrink. I can only tell you that I love you and want us to stay together past when you've gone bald and I've gotten arthritis."
She tried to kiss him, but Fez gasped and stepped backward. "I am not going bald! My father still has his hair."
"Gray, then." She attempted to kiss him again, and he let her. "I've got contacts at my university. I'll get the number of some shrinks for you ... if you're willing to try therapy."
"I'm willing to try anything as long as it means I can enjoy everything we have together."
She clasped his shoulders tightly. He winced, and her grip loosened. She had become better at assessing her own strength but not perfectly, and maybe that was the answer. Unlike chocolate, tempering his guilt did not have to be a perfect process. It could not be by its very nature. He was human, not candy.
Although he wouldn't mind being candy if Rhonda were the one who ate him.

Okay, let's have some fun and do a Jukebox Ask Game! You can have me ask you a question, or you can ask me a question. Your choice.
Send me a number and a letter (they're under the cut). Or ask me to give you a number and letter (but I pick which ones, obviously 😅). We're free to interpret the word and apply it to the characters and ships however we want.
