The Gangs all here! From left to right we got Levraut, Colette, Tangy (lower) Ishi’li (upper), Mochiie, Tuesday, and Chuusday. This was a little mind melting to work out with so many actors, and wanting to capture a bit of everyone’s general energy in so doing even if some of these guys never actually interact XD

Lev has like -6 rizz but on purpose, he thinks flirting with women is A Manly Thing To Do and getting to second or even first base isn’t even the goal. Colette isn’t giving a singular fuck and claiming space, and also making sure Tangy isn’t flashing everybody her shorts. Tangy is delighted to be here with all her friends, Ishi is thriving, her skin is clear, crops watered, etc. peace sign! Mochi is feelin a lil overwhelmed but trying to look nice for the camera, Tuesday is vibing and mentally planning dinner while trying to look nice for the camera no matter what else is going on, and Chuu is pondering the immortality cycle of the crab.

hewwooo tuesday here's a silly little question for you since your "check it out, frogs!!" blog title always delights me: how do each of your characters feel about frogs? 👀

I *love* Frogs, but how do the blorbeans feel about em...? Well... I had to really think about it TTuTT BUT! Chuu favors mechanical creatures over flesh 'n blood ones, and while her getting to the First is ambiguous and mysterious (being a non-wol, I just try not to think about it too much) She DOES... love the Dwarven Mecha frogs. And. The biggest frog of them all... Formi.... <3 …. So she doesn’t care for frogs much. She has sent Tuesday out frog catching for alchemical ingredients though….

Colette... Doesn't have any feelings this way or that about frogs, really. They're small, they're kinda slimey? but mostly they're just, very small. Except Gigantoads, I suppose, but those are a toad, and decidedly less slimey, by virture of being a toad. The ambivalence remains though! They're not that tricky to fight so long as you know how to wriggle out of their tongue grasp. (I did... take some frog-related Colette pictures tho >:3 I'm just gonna, post em a bit later, since the theme got away from me) Gigantoads make for a decent enough meal so long as you prep the meat right :T the legs are the most edible part yk.

Ishi is much more fond of Poro Roggo's, Matoya's froggy familiars. They're wearing LITTLE HATS ! They wave little canes! They're quite frankly adorable and they have little croaking voices. What's not to enjoy? (And also, there's something really nice about being out in the marshes of Mor Dhona and finding a little frog instead of a Morbol ready to stink bomb you, HAH)

Tuesday shivers when he thinks about frogs (knows the difference between a frog and a toad, still pictures a Gigantoad first, and does not much love being yanked mid-cast from his Ley lines into body slamming range.) Finds just a regular little frog endearing and will get down in the mud and muck to look at it though. Is especially fascinated by frogs that stick to things like leaves and trees and their camouflages uwu He’s the one who likely knows the most about frogs, and would gladly tell you more about them. Probably compares information with Erenville, if they ever meet up in non-life-threatening-situations.

Tangy finds them fun ! If she’s on a walk or a run or an errand and it’s drizzly and she sees a little frog hop across the pathway there’s literally 0 inhibitions in her body that stop her from also hopping or skipping for at least a minute (still on her way, but a frogs leap is so charming. They’re like tiny dragoons! She points this similarity out to Estinien once. Krile laughs, Estinien looks constipated- you know the face.) She also has a weird compulsion to put them into her mouth, though, so if she catches one….. make sure it’s not poisonous. She doesn’t even plan to eat it! They just look like they would fit perfectly in her kitty jaws (she is sometimes correct).

Mochiie had to get used to frog song when he moved to Gridania. The rivers and lakes and greenery abounding let the little critters thrive in a way they don’t particularly on the Steppe. …. He comes around to finding it relaxing and feels uneasy when he doesn’t hear them anymore lmfao. In non-WoL au’s, probably sometimes tasks adventurer’s with catching frogs for alchemical ingredients OR to bring back to the pond he’s been carefully maintaining to encourage the little beepers to live in it. (Btw, his favorite frog singers are the Pobblebonk or Banjo Frog [YT Link], and the Pacific Chorus Frog [YT Link] 🥰)

Levraut…. I’m still not sure. 🤔 I think he’d like them, but he wouldn’t feel strongly about them. He WOULD eat them though. As would Colette and Mochi… I mentioned Tangy liked to stick them in her mouth but actually eating them seems like a waste, since she’s so big and they’re so small. Like eating a blueberry. I can say his favorite frogs would be the Blue Jeans Poison Frog, for their striking jackets of warning colors, and the desert rain frog, whose perfect spherical nature and grumpy face is endearing.

Ishi’s whole identity is a straight up lie from the start. A badly told lie, in some cases, but a lie nevertheless. Somewhere in early ARR he finds out he doesn’t.. actually have to keep up this charade of being the son who died in Cartenau. But he’ll still lie, if he thinks it’s for the best. Especially, almost always, about his real origins. It’s simply strange, and he’d rather not try to explain something even he’s not sure of, lmfao. Lies sort of fall out of his arsenal for other things by Stormblood though; it only takes seeing Urianger’s convoluted plots 1 time for them to kinda, decide there’s precious few people he’d find any benefit in lying to.

And then Stormblood actually happens and he finds good reason to lie about certain things again because the warrior of light needs to Be Ok and Fight Two Wars but yk yk

[the short of his situation is he’s. An Isekai from modern day 2020 Japan, his soul dumped into the body of Ishi’li Jusumhi, who died/was dying in the battle of Cartenau. So he wakes up on the battlefield baffled as hell and gets to find out real time he has a family who is chalking up his oddities to ptsd and amnesia]

We’re gonna focus on one guy cos I’m not very aficionado on horror films kehehe… and also I forgot about Ishi in the last one 🫣💦

They’re probably one of the reasons that people are in danger to start with. Getting up to mischief and now there’s. Idk. The Demon/Killer/Whatever hunting everyone in the scary fl woods or hotel or. 🤔 lake house…? There’s a lake horror movie for sure right

I don’t think they make it to the end, unless their co-WoL is in it, because Kizuna would find a way to take reality apart to keep them alive 🫢 (so if Kizuna is there they make it to the end for certain lmao.) if it’s just Ishi and rando’s, they don’t die first, because they have to suffer the horrors of their consequences narratively first, and then it’s like, a sacrifice made for a plan that maybe almost fails towards the second half of things. A life given willingly in penance but it doesn’t mean it was their first choice. It was in fact, probably their last choice. Between this point and before there was probably lots of other failed attempts and plans to escape/stop the situation. … uhm… or they’d be the focus of a haunted house… targeted by ghosts of ethereal origin. They’d survive that; ghosts don’t scare them and they’d just *leave*. Or weather the night in some silly ring of salt lmao

So! This is such an interesting question I’ve never actually thought about it before 🫢 (how exciting)

Chuu has a fear of pits where you can’t see the bottom, and quicksand. Not that quicksand is often actually a danger in day-to-day life, but the idea of being sucked under and- dying, essentially. Surprisingly ok with deep water and heights, though.

Tuesdays fear is deep water, because… he can’t really, ah, swim. He sinks, like a stone. And he’s not so much afraid as he is creeped out by things that are not human but DO have human-like faces. Like [Deidar] or the [Fishman] from Windwaker (worse, if they don’t behave in a human fashion, or they come close but it’s Wrong)

Mochiie has a fear of bug stings/bites- he’s not allergic, but he knows enough about toxins to be alarmed if he doesn’t know what just got him. 🫢 yet he’ll still handle bugs, just… cautiously.

Tangy is afraid of Magitek War Machina. Over time she gets to the point where she doesn’t seize up at the clunk of their heavy mechanical legs or the whirr of their engines, but it still sets her fur on end. Going to Chuu’s workshop is an overwhelming hellscape (so it’s good their meetings were in a quieter part of the FC house…)

Colette claims she’s not afraid of anything. Not a damn thing. She’s very freaked out by spiders, though, in a ‘set the whole house on fire’ kinda way. Someone else has to safely remove the poor creature before she DOES accidentally burn the house down casting Flare. She’s been getting better, but it’s down to a very rapid exit of the room no matter the case. [Belladonna] in Saint Mocianes Arboretum was a nightmare- but at least she was allowed to blast it to pieces.

Ishi’li … mm.. They’re tough. Before Eorzea he was afraid of cockroaches? Freaked out by the sensation of bugs crawling on him too. But after being in Eorzea and camping a bunch and getting slimed/torched/waterboarded/blown about/All the other crazy shit that happens to the poor WoL in battle… cockroaches don’t seem so scary anymore? The Gnath are literally giant talking bugs… I think they’re afraid of real deep water though. Like where you can’t see the bottom? It’s hard to say he’s afraid of Krakens but I think he might be a little bit.

Levraut is freeze-sometimes-faint afraid of Dragons. If it’s anything bigger than a Chocobo his knees are rattlin’. He tries to put on a real brave face about it, but…. It’s a hard hurdle to cope with. Their teeth, the vaguely sulfuric hint to their breath, the piercing eyes, the ripping talons…. Yeah, he just can’t. Au’ra are fine, after he’s met a handful. But the first one… 🫢 they had to get him smelling salts.

>:3!!!!!! Rolling this ask around my enclosure like a pumpkin full of ground beef! So I actually covered Mochiie’s hobbies earlier today- [Here] so I’ll cover some others ùwú! (Full of mischief)

Ishi’li’s hobbies are messy because of his origins: they enjoyed solving Sudoku’s, and playing games, which I’d count as hobbies, but in Eorzea his old hobbies don’t hold up, cos…. Nobody makes Sudoku puzzles… and Games straight up don’t exist, to my knowledge. But he DOES learn to haggle and trade and help run business numbers. He actually genuinely enjoys math (it’s why he picks up Arcanist XD) ….. hm.. He picks up painting, after visiting the First, and subsequently Elpis, and possibly photography (Me and Zombiesock are toying with creation magic making essentially a Sheikah Slate, because due to how we shook out events Ishi is the only one of the cadre of WoL’s to actually be able to go to Elpis and they get frustrated at an inability to show it to everyone else, lmao.) … There’s not much of a common theme, they just like Learning stuff, especially if it can be applied to helping the team, (like Astrology, which is picked up, but kind of as a side gig to everything else that’s going on.) … and honestly it leans heavily into Magic, because it’s unique and interesting even if there’s a constant battle to keep up enough Mana to use it lmfao.

Tuesday likes reading (History, Cookbooks, Travel Guides, YA Short Story Romance), and cooking, even if he can’t like… taste the food he makes for some time (not sure when he gets taste but ah! He shall someday :) ) which means he’s always in need of taste testers- but not Chuu. Who is a walking nightmare for food. (If it’s not easily eaten one handed in some fashion she’s not eating it. She’s been TRYING to care more about what her food tastes like but mostly the fact that she’s gaining weight and eating 3x a day + snacks is an improvement. She LIKES archon loaf. Anyways-) he likes experimenting with textures and smells and spices, so finding people that will eat it and provide feedback is. Nice. He also finds lots of joy in little repeating tasks like, spinning/weaving, and learning to make his own fabrics and garments opens up a whole other world. He’s already out gathering stuff, or shopping, so. Making clothes is it’s own sort of rewarding (and it makes Keathan. So excited, actually. That Tuesday is creating something. For himself???) … I think most of his hobbies stem from a desire to. Find? He’s grasping for what it means to be an Individual and trying stuff and customizing himself in little ways.

🤔 Hobby lore… I’m tryna think if I got anything else interesting knocking around up here. Oh!

Tangy used to have a hobby doing whittling, nothing too crazy, cos she was v small, but it was practice using a knife so she could be more confident later in life when she’d need to skin+ clean game, y’know. …. aaaand then it got lost in the haze of everything Pre 1.0, so she hasn’t done it since, but I like to think if she picked up a little knife in NOT kitchen settings she’d feel some muscle memory kick in for it. Nowadays she likes bird watching, and sooometimes fishing, though there’s not much to catch outside the waking sands that’s suuuper worth eating, she catches lots of small fry… and sometimes a sunburn. Right across the bridge of her snout. Dreadful. I like to think sometime between ARR and Heavensward she starts making little woven jewelry pieces- bracelets and hair ties mostly, but, it keeps her hands occupied and she can always unravel them again and do it over later. So long as she doesn’t give it to someone- if she catches someone leaving she’ll tie a woven bracelet around their wrist and very seriously tell them to come back in one piece. (🤔 Training in hand-to-hand doesn’t really feel like a hobby in Eorzea, where it can be your whole job…. And sorta IS, her job… it’s her main class anyways ahaha. So I’m gonna leave that one off.) …. I don’t think there’s a common theme here aside from being time-fillers that a person can do anywhere without a lot of stuff to do it with 🤔

Tuesday has a Texan Drawl by default, picked for him by Chuu because she found it charming. His accent tends to drift to match the region he’s spent time in recently, though, to stand out less. He can speak the common Eorzean, Garlean, and Hingan. He can also read Chuu’s invented written-language and common. Reading other languages takes him a little longer but it’s…. Doable.

Chuu has a light Garlean accent and rolls the r’s on certain words like it was how she heard them when she was a child and so it’s how she says them even now. Things like Growl, travel, father, terror. Speaks Garlean and common Eorzean. Cannot read either language; refuses to learn as a VERY stubborn choice. Has created her own written language instead. Only two other people are known to be able to read it. Learning Hingan, but doesn’t seem too bothered to continue now that she has Tuesday built. His continued adventures with the WoL and Crew might drive her to pick it back hp, though.

Tangy has a thick Essex accent and only speaks/writes common. Is leaning Sign, though she feels like her hands don’t always cooperate with the motions. She’s getting the hang of it.

Ishi’li has an Ala Mhigan accent that naturally drifts to match whoever he’s speaking with over time. It’s the Adhd. Speaks Japanese (modern) and stumbles his way through Hingan (it’s like. If a guy were speaking to someone from the 1800’s; the language is different but not impossible) also knows Sign! Interprets for Kizuna.

Levraut has a posh Ishgardian accent he actively suppresses and tries to distance himself from with a Limsan one instead. You can tell he’s flustered, or thinking very hard about what he’s saying rather than how he’s saying it, because the pompous ass accent creeps back in.

Colette has a v slight Spanish accent when she’s not working- she lays on a heavy Customer Service sort of voice when on the job that’s more neutral if a little inviting. (She is, however, trash talking you to her coworkers in the break room. Sorry. She did see you staring.)

I have been wrestling Mochiie’s accent for a while but I wanna dedicate a little more time to it /)////(\ so I don’t have an answer for him this has been fun to answer tho ;w;! [Solkmyna and Swydghem btw, have Scottish accents. I don’t know where they got it either, but it is as it is?]

Chuu likes buffet style barbecue so she can get a lil of everything but she favors brisket and anything off of Talia’s plate. Doesn’t super care for most slaw or any beans (would rather just have a dressed salad, Mayo isn’t her fave) isn’t super interested in eating meat off the bone, so Talia sometimes cuts her meat off the bone for her. (Exception for Ribs, which is like a built in handle, AND usually is cooked so it falls off the bone easily.) Gets 3 ice cream cones (each a different flavor) one after the other for desert lmfao

Tuesday (assuming he can eat XD) likes ribs 😤 hickory barbecue sauce. Smoked meats… sloppy sandwiches with pickles ….! Takes a heaping helping of slaw and politely eats pinto beans, crushes barbecue baked beans (they’re different…) gets the swirl option from the ice cream machine and makes an aesthetically stunning cone- eats only about half of it before it starts critically melting

Ishi is kinda take or leave it on barbecue- though they’re hard pressed to turn down fresh grilled meats, or ah. The name of it has suddenly escaped me. Japanese style restaurant with its own grill top where YOU grill your own meats. NOT hibachi….. damn…. Anyways. They’re not crazy on beans at all but coleslaw is decidedly ‘ok’, it’s just not their first pick!

Mochiie prefers dry rub/seasoned meats over sauces 🤔 Beef is great but goat and lamb are the best. Always gets slaw (cooling/neutralizing flavor!) is kinda neutral-positive on beans. He’ll have any kind it’s just not a selling point. Thinks about getting ice cream and then kinda nails. Has apple pie for desert instead, no ice cream

Tangy is getting everything. She’s not picky. Favorite is hot links with barbecue sauce and a big roll she can rip in half and stuff with cinnamon butter. Constantly bumps into Chuu at the ‘complimentary Ice Cream Dispenser’. They swap tricks to filling and piling high cones and chocolate sauces. Chuu once stopped talking to her for the time she saw Tangy stuff a pickle spear into her ice cream though (it was a dare and she didn’t do it again but she claims it quote ‘wasn’t actually that bad!’)

Colette crushes a rack of ribs. Or a tomahawk. Likes light sauce to savor the meat. Dominates her food (bones picked clean. And everyone else’s.) gets a polite amount of coleslaw and outright skips beans unless they’re black eyed peas n bacon. Also gets the peach cobbler if it’s available.

Levraut WANTS the big fancy steak but can never afford it and ends up with just a half rack of ribs instead. Gets beans and coleslaw cos it comes with it and kinda nibbles on both, dared Tangy to try a pickle in her ice cream just because they were both already kinda fuckin around. Gets a cup of barbecue sauce to dip stuff in rather than having his food smothered in it. Also dips his bread in it.

For fun; some side cast tidbits under the cut

Gemmini likes barbecue sandwiches- sloppy joes or brisket, but she’ll also sneak meat off someone else’s plate if they got sausage. She won’t admit out loud she likes em but. She does. Drowns things in barbecue sauce. Refuses coleslaw and beans outright. ONLY gets ice cream if they have strawberry (they never do). Will competitively eat if Skunk is there- he CANNOT be allowed to eat more than her. (This leads to some hilarious shenanigans)

Velivet would love barbecue but he’s got a lot of little ones to wrangle and make sure eat so he tends to get something that tastes good even if it gets a little soggy or room temp. Eats coleslaw to set an example for the kids to eat their greens…. Please.

Milos (Vel’s bio-son, 17’ish) enjoys brisket the best, with bbq sauce, doesn’t enjoy coleslaw but has been convinced to eat at least two bites. Likes baked beans. Gets a moderate ice cream cone of plain vanilla.

Elise (Vel’s adoptive kid, 8’ish) has to be coerced to eat something OTHER than the Coleslaw and Beans, actually. Frequently gets Milos’ leftover slaw. Will pick at plain sausage.

G’mifi (like 3, Vels adoptive kid) and gets no beans, a little bit of slaw, and a little bit of plain undressed brisket or sausage. She absolutely destroys her meats and somehow STILL ends up grubby with barbecue sauce.

Finnigin (Vel’s adoptive son, like 15) wants a barbecue sandwich, any kind, no pickles, is proud of the fact that he eats all his coleslaw even if he magically vanishes his beans onto someone else’s plate. Shares some of his ice cream cone with Mifi when Vel isn’t looking.

Chilala (9 3/4’s, adopted by Vel) is too busy trying to be ‘in charge’ of things to eat Barbecue. Vel would love it if she’d just. Sit. And eat her roll and shredded pork. Maybe even her mackedcheeze and coleslaw.

The adventure involving swords, blood and gold may be over, but the one with your new-found friends has only just begun. Home, once dull and boring is now alight with laughter and joy as you find love in the little things. You love your friends and your friends love you.

Fairly accurate I’d say! After EW I think Ishi settles down for a little bit with Kizuna, for a (somewhat forced by Ishi) vacation from being in the worlds spotlight (they cultivate an Island Sanctuary together with minimal Mammets uwu) but I think they’re both too restless and prone to wanderlust to fully retire from adventuring lmfao. After all, Kizuna is still drawn to helping and saving people, and evil/trouble isn’t going to take a vacation either.

Though they’d both probably love the chance to go back to being no-name nobodies, doing small scale low-stakes quests… something less stressful than the fate of the shard hanging in the balance maybe…

The mood of the century. Why make it so clickable. Tappable. Whatever. I’ve used desktop lately and they’re like “HERES YOUR BIGGEST FANS. UNFOLLOW THEM NOW.” Like…… help…

Anyways the vibes(™) dictate this is real WoL hours, so. Ishi’li travels on foot/Chocobo more often than not because their companion (the Main WoL/their co-wol - husbands wolc, I swear I’m gonna pose him sometime this year, prommyfr) gets Aethersick (yknow, when you teleport to Thav and everybodies like EUUURGH… that, but every time.)

So they’ve passed the time with

I had actually intended to do Miqo’march but I got two days done, last steam, couldn’t think of captions, and ended up never posting them 🤦‍♂️

After Moenbrydas abrupt sacrifice it was kinda a huge hit to his mental health, he fell back on bad habits (drinking, gambling, retail therapy) to try and drown his feelings out (without much success really) and ended up pushing away his dearest friend at the time who was ALSO trying to cope with Moenbrydas death but ALSO the loss of G’Raha (Ishi didn’t do Crystal Towers, he was drinking and Gambling. Kizuna did it without him because his way of coping with grief was to throw himself into More Tasks)

Ishi ends up buying 1 (one) jumbo cactpot ticket on a whim and ends up actually Winning the whole kitkaboodle much to his shock (he’d been on a lucky streak but he hadn’t expected to WIN)

Which is actually what shakes him free of his depression long enough to think about the future again :T because I know in game MGP =/= Gil, but I feel like canon lore is MGP=Gil like in actual casinos :/ so he comes into a Ton Of Money all at once and uses that to. Buy a house. (Lucky bastard won the gamble on the housing lottery too and that’s why HE HAS A HOUSE AND CHUU DOESN’T WOOPS LOL. I didn’t realize you couldn’t have more than one house per world at the time 🤪 it’s ok that’s what Makeplace is for. My horrible house decor habits for character development can continue)
