Yep. Malady was bawling because she did know that Elidibus was Azem's little brother. Meanwhile deep inside her soul Talia was screaming because this was the second time she had watched her brother die--technically the third of you count the summoning of Zodiark.

I think a big part of Thancred realizing he's actually, really in love with Urianger is him realizing that he doesn't care if he never gets to have sex with him.

Thancred (or at least the Thancred in my head) is a pretty sexually driven person. He slept around because it was part of the job, yeah, but also because he just likes sex.

But then he stumbles into a situationship with Urianger, and Urianger is reserved and awkward and not at all forward about any sort of sexual interest. And they tiptoe around each other for a while without ever "getting anywhere", and it's fun and interesting and Thancred likes him more than he could ever have expected.

But it's only when they're laying together, cuddling like you might post-sex but without the sex, that Thancred thinks almost in passing that he doesn't mind, actually, if that's not something that's ever on the table with Urianger. And that thought is what pushes him to notice that he's actually In Love with him

Mal doesn't have a normal Roe name, that's for sure. My Hellsguard is Malady lux Fenrick, only daughter to a single mother who arrived at Ul'dah as a pregnant refugee from the impending Garlean annexation. She had been conned by a man who had convinced her that he was climbing the ranks of Garlean society and the two of them would be the only Roegadyns treated as equals. Then he took her money and vanished.

Shortly after Mal was born she saw the news in the papers that he had been convicted of several murders and was awaiting execution. She went back to confront him and what he told her then terrified her: that his daughter would be his weapon against the world. As he was only known by his Garlean alias, she never learned his real name--or if he even had one. After returning to Ul'dah she could never look at her daughter the same and always kept her at arm's length, even as a small child.

Eventually she had to register Mal with the city. Originally her name was going to be Snowy Melody because of her hair and her melodic voice (even her crying sounded like a song). But after at least a year of deliberation she decided to officially name her Malady lux Fenrick as a warning to the world that she was her father's daughter.

Roegadyn players, tell me about your character's name!

What was your thought process behind it? Does it mean something important? Does it follow Sea Wolf/Hellsguard conventions or does it draw on other cultures? Is it the same as their birth name or has it changed? Can other people pronounce it? Do they go by any nicknames or shorten it for convenience?

Trying to keep it somewhat vague to avoid spoilers for people who just happen to come across this, but tbh I don't think Urianger is very experienced with sex, and not because he's "bookish". He's very focused on Moenbryda, and by the looks of it they never got together officially before [spoiler]. After that he spends pretty much all of ARR-Endwalker grieving what happened and blames himself for that and more. If he had sex, it's more likely it happened at some point after the main story of Endwalker.

With that said, Urianger has proven again and again to be a quick and attentive learner, and there's no doubt he has some idea of how everything goes down even if he isn't as personally experienced. (I mean, he's friends with Thancred after all, and Thancred likes to brag about his "conquests"). SO, even if Urianger might be personally inexperienced, he'd probably be able to quickly pick up how to go about things. He has probably already heard it all from Thancred anyway. x)

To summarize I agree that Urianger is very emotionally mature and aware, but that doesn't necessarily translate over to sexual experience beyond the fact I personally think Urianger would pay good attention to his partner(s) if he had any.

absolutely no shade to people who hold them, but i personally dislike headcanons that posit urianger as inept at or completely without experience with sex or arts or other expressive acts due to him being bookish because to me it is reductive to bookish people everywhere. but also it feels reductive to his character to me.

the man taught himself astrology in a world without a night sky. he helped bring a depth of understanding of the experience of humanity to moon bunnies who hadn't met a person under 20 feet tall in thousands of years. he befriended the fae. he comforts the sad and scared and sees unique traits in those others might dismiss. he demonstrates compassion and regret and grief and joy. he jokes and partakes of the fun of ribbing your loved ones and revels in being weird and dramatic.

urianger augurelt understands the depths of an array of human (not hyur, but people's) experiences and finds ways to broaden his horizons wherever his interests are piqued, even if sometimes awkwardly or imperfectly. i see no reason why these other things would be any different.

that man is a sloppy wet kisser tho.
