Just a reminder to be kind to yourselves today and everyday.
Take care of yourself as if you would an ill loved one. You deserve that cozy blanket, with the good show, a hot bath and that warm cup of tea.
Be kind to your body and what love it can manage to give you today and what love you can manage to give it.
Yoga is a wonderful option for some pain relief with Fibromyalgia and chronic pain in general. Yoga can help release tension from cramped up and tense muscles. Yoga is also a great stress buster and helps to reduce those feelings and effectively relax our nervous system. If you’re like me, high intensity workouts hurt me more than help me - being able to ease into each yoga pose slowly and be able to hold it for as long as it feels good for you and your body helps you feel both relaxed in your muscles and energized in your mind.
I like to curate a morning and evening yoga routine with the few practices I keep in my back pocket for those extremely high pain days.
Here’s a few yoga poses I suggest to help release some of that fibromyalgia tension and pain most of us experience:
1. Childs Pose - This asana helps to calm the mind.
It also gives a good stretch to the arms, shoulders, back, and hips.
2. Legs up the wall pose - By taking the weight off your feet, this pose helps relax the muscles of the hips and legs.
It relieves you of fatigue, a major symptom of fibromyalgia.
3. Cobra Pose - This pose helps flex the upper and middle back, another main affected area in fibromyalgia.
It also helps strengthen the arm muscles.
It helps improve blood circulation to various parts of the body.
It reduces fatigue; you feel deeply relaxed as you open up your shoulders and chest.
4. Bridge pose - This gives you a deep stretch to your back and wards off fatigue.
It also helps calm the nervous system so you feel less anxious.
It strengthens the back muscles, a possible tender point in those suffering from fibromyalgia.
5. Corpse Pose - It calms the mind and reduces both stress and fatigue.
It relieves headaches and sundry pains.
It helps you sleep better at night.
It may take you some time to get adjusted to these poses and how they feel for you but I advise to at least try them once, once a day, even just for 30 seconds. You’ve got this and most importantly…always listen to what your body needs from you. There’s no shame in having to adjust for ourselves and what we need to feel better in our bodies. Take care everyone 🦋
Ps. I posted some photos of each pose in the comments from google..each picture has the name of the pose underneath it. 🪬 and I also included a photo of my adorable yoga partner, my doodle who loves to join me on my mat everyday.
Think of those things we are grateful for❤️

Fibroscan Symptoms: A Comprehensive Overview
Tumblr media
FibroScan is a non-invasive medical procedure used to assess the level of liver fibrosis, or scarring, in patients with liver disease. It is a painless and quick procedure that uses a specialized ultrasound device to measure the stiffness of the liver. The results of a FibroScan can help doctors determine the stage of liver disease and guide treatment decisions. It is often used as an alternative to liver biopsy, which is an invasive procedure. FibroScan is commonly used in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as hepatitis C, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis.
Conditions Assessed by FibroScan
Liver Fibrosis and Cirrhosis:
Liver Fibrosis: A condition where excessive connective tissue builds up in the liver due to chronic liver damage, often caused by hepatitis, alcohol abuse, or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
Cirrhosis: Advanced liver fibrosis leading to severe scarring and impaired liver function.
Fatty Liver Disease (Steatosis):
Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (AFLD): Fat accumulation in the liver due to excessive alcohol consumption.
Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD): Fat accumulation in the liver not related to alcohol intake, often associated with obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.

How to Identify Symptoms of Fibrosis
·  Early Stage (often asymptomatic):
Fatigue
Mild abdominal discomfort
Slightly elevated liver enzymes
·  Progressive Disease:
Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
Abdominal pain and swelling
Swelling in the legs and ankles (edema)
Itchy skin
Dark urine color
Pale stool color
Chronic fatigue
Nausea or loss of appetite
Easy bruising or bleeding
Advanced Cirrhosis:
Ascites (fluid accumulation in the abdomen)
Hepatic encephalopathy (confusion, drowsiness, slurred speech)
Spider-like blood vessels on the skin
Increased risk of infections
Muscle wasting
It is important to note that these symptoms can be caused by various liver conditions, and not everyone with liver disease will experience all of these symptoms. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or have concerns about your liver health, it is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional for a proper evaluation and diagnosis.
Management and Monitoring
For patients diagnosed with liver conditions through FibroScan, management includes:
Lifestyle Modifications:
Avoiding alcohol
Maintaining a healthy weight
Eating a balanced diet
Exercising regularly
Medications:
For underlying causes (e.g., antivirals for hepatitis)
To manage symptoms (e.g., diuretics for edema)
Regular Monitoring:
Repeat FibroScan tests to monitor liver stiffness and fat content
Blood tests for liver function
Imaging studies if needed
Medical Procedures:
In advanced cases, liver transplantation may be considered.
FibroScan provides valuable insights into liver health, enabling early diagnosis and better management of liver diseases, ultimately improving patient outcomes. If you have specific symptoms or conditions related to liver health, consult a healthcare provider for appropriate testing and treatment.

FibroScan: A Non-Invasive Test for Liver Fibrosis
FibroScan is a non-invasive test that uses sound waves to measure the stiffness of the liver. This information can be used to assess the severity of liver fibrosis, a condition that occurs when scar tissue builds up in the liver.
FibroScan is a relatively new test, but it has become increasingly popular in recent years. It is a safe and effective alternative to liver biopsy, which is a more invasive procedure that involves taking a small sample of tissue from the liver.
FibroScan is used to diagnose and monitor a variety of liver diseases, including:
Alcoholic liver disease
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
Hepatitis B and C
Cirrhosis
The test is also used to assess the risk of liver failure and death in people with liver disease.
FibroScan is a quick and painless procedure. It takes about 5 minutes to complete and does not require any sedation.
During the procedure, you will lie on your back with your right arm raised behind your head. A small, handheld device will be placed on your abdomen. The device will emit sound waves that travel through your liver. The sound waves are reflected back to the device, which measures the stiffness of the liver.
Your doctor will use your FibroScan results to assess the severity of your liver fibrosis. The results can also be used to monitor the progress of your liver disease over time.
If you have any concerns about your liver health, talk to your doctor about FibroScan. It is a safe and effective way to assess the severity of liver fibrosis and monitor the progress of your liver disease.
Benefits of FibroScan
Non-invasive: FibroScan is a non-invasive test, which means that it does not require any needles or surgery. This makes it a much more comfortable option for patients than a liver biopsy.
Fast: FibroScan is a quick test, taking only about 5 minutes to complete.
Accurate: FibroScan is a very accurate test, and it has been shown to be as accurate as a liver biopsy in diagnosing and staging liver fibrosis.
Affordable: FibroScan is a relatively affordable test, and it is often covered by insurance.
Drawbacks of FibroScan
Not available everywhere: FibroScan is not available in all healthcare settings.
Not suitable for everyone: FibroScan cannot be used in all patients, such as those who are obese or have ascites.
Not a cure: FibroScan does not cure liver disease, but it can help to diagnose and monitor the condition.
