[EN] I'm back — physically. But the exhaustion still runs deep. It doesn't ease up, doesn't let go, doesn't grant any relief. I don’t know what’s causing it. All I want is to sleep.

I gave myself a break from my daily routines. This time… it didn’t help. I feel like something is weighing me down, but I can’t quite name what it is.

In the photo — my wife, immersed in greenery. The calm of that moment contrasts sharply with my state. Maybe it’s that kind of stillness I’m missing right now.

11th-Century Silver Coin HoardUnearthed in Saxony-Anhalt Germany

A forest restoration project near Lübs, a village 22 miles from Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, has unearthed an exciting hoard dating from the 11th century. A team of archaeologists have discovered a collection of nearly 300 silver coins.

The coins were found at a depth of 35cm in an area being prepared for tree planting east of the Elbe River. As the region is well known to local heritage enthusiasts and detectorist groups, volunteers from the State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeology of Saxony-Anhalt, who made the discovery, attended the restoration project. They discovered the flash of silver during a fieldwalking inspection.

When inspected further, the glint was revealed to be a cluster of coins packed into a 30 cm-wide discoloured patch of earth.

Fragments of broken ceramics indicate that 272 coins—comprising 196 denarii, 65 high-rimmed pfennigs and 12 high-rimmed obols—were originally stored in a ceramic vessel.

Textile fibres discovered at the bottom of the cluster also suggest that the coins were either wrapped in a woven cloth or that the textile served as a lining for the ceramic vessel.

This Mysterious Dark Age Skeleton Was Brutally Murdered | Time Team | Chronicle

This live dig centers on a ruined Norman church on a hill in Norfolk. This National Trust site promises to be the richest source of finds that Time Team has yet seen, with previous evidence of human occupation from most periods in antiquity. This requires several trenches, including the longest one that Time Team has ever dug. They start with some fieldwalking and metal detecting, before digging in earnest. Among many finds are a bronze age arrow head, a medieval tiled floor, coins, and several well-preserved skeletons. One skull shows clear evidence of having been brutally slaughtered by a swordsman on horseback. The team is joined by Helen Geake, Neil Holbrook, Andrew Rogerson, pottery expert Paul Blinkhorn, osteoarchaeologist Margaret Cox, and historian John Blair. Celebrities Sandi Toksvig and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall also drop in. Hugh and Victor help Saxon re-enactor Russell Scott to recreate a bronze artifact from scratch.

hey i saw a reply on one of yr posts about the fieldwalk game. i know that someone has a preserved copy of the game somehow, not sure if its the full game or just a gameplay video or something idk, and is planning on translating it. idk if they dropped it or not but theyre the same guy who re-translated the secret reports and fixed the errors if yve seen that floating around on reddit. so hopefully we will see something from it sooner rather than later. :-)
