Something I love about the Bad Kids is that we get the impression that they’re never really alone. In freshman year we saw them sort of fall together, and now (Junior year) they are always together unless specified. Sometimes a couple of them have to go do things (like when Adaine was going to work) but mostly… they are a set. Hell, most of them live together. Half of them are siblings now.

Even when someone is having a sidebar with an NPC, someone else’s chime in to the conversation and it always seems like they’re just There.

Something about this group of friends naturally orbiting one another, never really having really intense fights within the group. They’re a family. Ignore that their lifespans will inevitably cut one another off, obvi. But I don’t think that Fig IS going to leave the Bad Kids to go with Ayda, at least not permanently. They mean too much all together, and I think Emily knows that just as well. But the whole summer is likely going to be a fun little vacation (for once). The last summer before it ends. Even if the Bad Kids stay together after graduation, they won’t be the same as they are now, and that’s one of the big emotional things they’re going to have to deal with for Senior year (eventually)

I absolutely love when the dice tell a story for any D20 show. For FHJY its:

That Riz, is the most impressive investigator out there and his hard work does deserve to pay off. finding the rogue teacher, all these amazing perceptions / clues, cracking the case wide open and on a more meta level finally getting to see Murph have those sweet nat 20 moments.

For Kristen, its her taking ownership and working hard to bring cassandra back and putting in the hard work. Showcasing that her instincts are exceptional and she's the godamn best cleric out there bar none. And of course the dice always reminding us that Ally is magic.

Fig its literally tying the element of bad luck on a meta level until she realizes that Ankarna is the god she was seeking and reflecting the goddess who was literally builded over by her followers and seeing the good intent that was once there. And After so much anguish with the dice those 30+ music rolls and nat 20 insight into ankarna's temple. Just absolutely beautiful.

Gorgug, its literally making the impossible possible by becoming a full-fledged barbificer and then immediately becoming the most critical member during the last stand. And the dice going don't fucking doubt yourself, and rewarding Zac literally every round with astounding crits.

Adaine, its a settling into a calmness and who she is supposed to be. Literally being able to gift out nat 20s, the calm efficiency of scattering the party into better spots and not breaking a sweat. Siobhan literally being the slickest player every round with her arsenal of spells and portents. Just 10/10, no notes.

Fabian its showcasing how majestic and beautiful it is to connect fighting to dance and continuing to prove how much he has grown as a person. Him settling stuff with gertie, FHFY would never have done that. AND FOR LOU THE DICE ARE TELLING HIM TO STOP PERFORMING SURGERY/MEDICAL CHECKS ON CHARACTERS WITH TWO NAT 1S.

Fig fully produces the Complicated Women Podcast. That’s canon, period.

I think somewhere in the world is a rogue with really high perception/investigation who has figured this out and is hell bent on exposing her but his charisma and persuasion is horrendously low so anyone he tells about this just thinks he’s a loser with a wild conspiracy theory - or just super mad about Fig & The Cig Figs’ success.

Idk, maybe he started out as a super fan of the podcast and it just all crumbled when he realised it was all a facade. I love it though.

On the one hand the way Porter treated Fig makes me so mad. He took this kid filled with passion and hope and groomed and manipulated her into finding faith in something that really inspired her only so he could use that faith to kill the very being that had inspired her for his own gain.

On the other hand, he’s so badly underestimated her and it’s gonna be so goddamn satisfying when this all blows up in his face. Because yes Fig is a vulnerable kid but she’s also Bugs Bunny on crack with a sick bass and she’s already done so much more than he could have dreamed of. There’s no way he knows she already claimed Ankarna’s domain and now he’s bought her fake name for Ankarna hook line and sinker.

I've been thinking about Fig's possible exit at the end of this season, and as much as it makes me sad, I do think it opens up interesting character arcs. Because, being honest? I don't really see Fabian and Kristen wanting to go to college either. Never ever separating after high school is much more Riz's dream than anyone else's. Also, it's not like they'll stop being friends – they can't even really drop out of contact with the whole parent polycule situation, and Gorgug being on Fig's band. And in TUC2, it was clear that Rowan was still part of the dream team even when not actively going on missions with them. I do think it would be very interesting to see the Bad Kids realizing that they don't have to stay adventuring together to stay friends, and that in fact their goals for adult life can be very different from one another. A lot about this season has been about academic stress and how the Bad Kids are forced to keep saving the world with no real reward, and I think it's fair if some – or all – of them decide they deserve some rest.
