The grieving students barricaded the busy Akure-Ilesa highway, causing heavy disruption to vehicular movement and a prolonged traffic jam that lasted for hours. Akeredolu, popular among his peers, tragically collapsed in his hostel in Akindeko Hall days before his final papers. He was immediately rushed to the University Health Centre, where medical personnel declared him dead. The news of Akeredolu’s unexpected demise sent shockwaves through the university campus, prompting students to gather in protest. An eyewitness told DAILY POST: “We rushed the guy to the health centre around 8:30 pm. However, when we arrived, there was a power outage. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, who administered CPR, oxygen, and injections, the electricity was not restored throughout the treatment process.” Reacting to the development, the university’s Director of Corporate Communication, Adegbenro Adebanjo, said in a statement: “Due to some perceived misgivings about services at the University Health Centre, students embarked on a protest on Friday, August 25, 2023. It is important to point out that the protest was not directly related to the death of the student. “The representatives of the students, at a meeting with Management, called at the behest of the Vice Chancellor, pointed out some lacunae in the process of accessing services at the health centre. Week 4:

As of currently, all of NSW has been entered into lockdown due to the panini (pandemic). This has caused a halt in production.

Firstly, I should probably explain what my project is, how I got there and what I have done.

Myself and a couple of friends in the course have decided to team up as a group. We have decided to create a music video for a new song from a local upcoming artist. We were sent the song to think of ideas and what direction we would like to go in with notes from the singer/songwriter. We had also discussed what role each person would play in the production of this video.

Thankfully, before the current lockdown we had organised an in person group meeting to brainstorm ideas together. As a group we came up with many ideas and scenarios not all of which have made it into the shot list, but a lot of which I received astonishing reactions both good and bad from fellow crew members when I came up with some of my ideas. including a statement from one of them asking how my brain works.

some of the ides and suggestions I had were:

- creepy acrobatics to which I had performers that could do it.

- creepy contemporary styled dance.

- a mirror but then the reflection reaches through.

- a POV of a surgical scalpel heading towards your eye.

- a Drs Headlamp which gets zoomed in on, then we zoom out to a car headlight.

After getting these ideas we left and had our own tasks to work on. Since I am 1st Assistant Director, and we did not have a completely clear vision of time in which we wanted to film and since we are a small crew I took on an extra role of costume & set design.

I have created a small mood board for items we would like to use or similar things.

Back to currently, we had a meeting when lockdown first happened with the suggestion of deferral brought up. However, we have decided to use this time in lockdown to have zoom meetings and have everything prepared and ready to go when we do come out of lockdown. Due to this it does mean that we can’t have everything organised such as dates and we cant hire equipment due to it being unknown when we would need it. However, we can try our best to have clear ideas and timelines with unknown dates to have everything be as smooth and fast as possible.

Finding Final Year Student’s Mindset

Somewhat flexible, I will wear my canvas shoes down the stairs. I will be ready to take a big step. To graduate from my university. But, where is my shoes? ***

I recognized the journey is never be objective. Everyone holds a piece of experiences and feelings were in those moments. Being happy, surprised, satisfied, stressed, fed up, homesick, and exhausted; all is mixed while we were the final year student in university. Be the last chapter of uni is typically a stressful one. We have to juggle our proposal. We running an unending list of experiments. And do the cycle of read, write, revise, and repeat again to create something we called ‘an impeccable undergraduate thesis’. Sometimes, we might feel we weren’t working all the time. We felt guilt invaded our time for rest or join social activity. It all because of late capitalism on working culture. That the idea of majorly people spoke pertaining to the campaign for a “living wage”. And drive us to strive through work for the means to live. As things go wrong throughout our day. We becoming more and more stressed. And feel cannot hold it anymore. Foremost, let our ways of thinking shift looked from living wage become as though inventor; to find something new. We found the world to see as it can be. Whether significantly different or not, everything is invention. I do not mean we staying gave up easily. My intention is when we have over repetition in our way to convince discovering real experiment data, we will never get it to be real. As we were born with motivation not only to succeed but to learn. It can be mean understand nothing is perfect just the way it is. Somebody in the future will try to come up with a way to make some adjustments in our works. The next common case in final year students is blackout mindset; the insidious feeling when we lose momentum, burn out, and put our dreams aside. We thought this process out the hard way. However, to find focus on the things we expect most, we should re-find our primary dreams to chime in. “Why I want to pursue this goal?” “Why this goal important for me?” “What impact I have to deal with this goal?” After answering that, we commit to persistence. In subsequent, we are stepping from small achievable segments closer to the final goal and eternally relish the process. Last but not least, it is good to apply the healthy work-life balance in all sides of our tasks and jobs. The story of students who are stressed, depressed, and suicide encapsulates what can happen if not enough attention is paid to work-life balance in the final year of university. We can start by saving energy after finishing some tasks and switching on energy on other agenda. The other agendas which make us stay positive, productive, and be kind to ourselves, like reading exciting books, eating healthy, doing sport, chit-chat with friends, attending a friend's party, dinner with family, or finding the newly released shoes that we wish to have.

I am in a hurry. I sought out. I encounter may seem I will always find it. A pair of shoes with a bundle of energy, optimism, and motivation. To come walk with me. Exploring new adventure.

The Home Stretch?

Week 11:

This week has been a busy one as everything is returning to a somewhat normal state. Work has returned as well as my exhaustion.

Throughout the week I have continued to rotoscope however I have found due to not having as much free time the amount of progress of rotoscoping has lessened.

We divided up our report and wrote up our dedicated parts for the group. We have also had a meeting to discuss when we would prerecord our presentation as some group members will be unable to attend the live presentation.

Later this week we had our meeting to ensure we knew who would be speaking during which parts of the presentation. Once this was discussed we began to prerecord our presentation. I along with Isaiah wrote up about the learnt outcomes and discussed how our skills and techniques had evolved during the rotoscoping process. Then I spoke about our outcomes during the presentation on myself and Isaiah's behalf.

I plan on finishing off more of the rotoscoping in the coming weeks. However, I do know that the current scene that I am working on will take a while due to the amount of detail that is being put into the scene. This is due to the fact that I have the main characters arms being tied down as well as many bystanders surrounding him. So evidently is not a small task as well as the fact that there are many cuts between each portion of the scene that I am not rotoscoping.

Next week, I am hoping to have a lot of the restraint scene done before I commence my placement for my degree which will consume a lot of my time. Thankfully the rest of my courses should be finished by then. I plan on continually helping my group to see the outcome of our project through to the end, especially as it is more than just an assignment for my degree but also a music video for a local artist.
