Where do you think zayn ties in to the ownership of 1d name. Do you think he sold his stake before leaving?
After leaving, but yes. Apparently he did sell his share back to the company that holds One Direction's ownership, 1D Media. Now the company is represented by Lawrence Engel and Alan McEvoy on behalf of Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall. However, we don’t know whether he still receives royalties and profits from his time in the band. I assume he does?! But it's very unclear what sort of arrangements were made when he left. From the public information we have available though, he resigned from all 1D related companies.

btw if there are any other young americans out there who are extremely intimidated by filing your taxes and don’t know where to start, i really recommend H&R block. I use the free one because my taxes are pretty straightforward as a single person, and even when ive moved across state lines like 5 times i can still do it with H&R block for free
just go to their website, make an account, and you’ll have to click “yes i want to use the free version yes i promise NO i don’t want to give you money” a couple times but i find it really direct and simple and it walks you through the whole process in one sitting. it takes me less than one afternoon every year
#ANOTHER PIECE OF ADVICE!! get a folder and put Every taxes and financial document in it. print out ur returns if u can#put ur w2s in there+credit card statements+retirement counts or whatever. i have a Massive Important Documents folder#with subfolders for medical shit; taxes shit; car#as someone with adhd this seems like a prime Adulting Thing that i expected to be like pulling teeth#so when my dad finally was like ‘no you’re doing it yourself this year sack up heres the docs u need good luck’ i felt Dread#and then it was like. fine. and pretty easy. just a lot of clicking and knowing where your W2 is#taxes#taxes help#taxes advice#tax season#tax advice

#this is a simplified narrative obviously#because before a company even goes to liquidation there are steps and due process#the auditor only gives an opinion or in certain cases refuses to give an opinion on the financial statements of a company#what happens next depends on the shareholders#if creditors demand immediate payment in full of the debt and the company somehow manages to strike a deal then the company survives#this is what you call voluntary administration#however if the insolvent company fails to meet its obligations then creditors may try seeking a court order for liquidation#and that is a separate exercise#the court would would then allow for the creditors to appoint a third party independent auditor to provide recommendations to the court#the court then may issue an order to liquidate the company based on recommendations from the third party independent auditor#so the narrative in this scene is the later stage obviously#mbc numbers#kdrama
