I am still reading through Ultimania translations like a certain someone in the data room…
Here are some curious notes on our Jenova Project scientists, Vincent, and Sephiroth that I know you will all appreciate.
That note about Hojo envying Gast and his genius—please keep this in mind. It will come into play for these next translations.
The research on Omega and the Kalm experiments were also in the Shinra manor. It makes you wonder if Sephiroth read any of that and further saw how cruel Shinra was.
The Jenova cell flashes in Sephiroth’s mind that we saw in the Rebirth demo can be seen in this image from the Crisis Core guide.
This is where everything becomes more interesting. Something not fully explained in DOC is Lucrecia’s own deterioration. It would appear that Vincent confronted Hojo over this after Sephiroth was born and taken away (or did he?). Lucrecia was falling to pieces it seems. (We will come back to this).
(Small note, but it looks like Vincent actually did propose to Lucrecia).
The next pile of notes are from the older Ultimania Omega from 2005, and some debate the validity of the text and whether it still holds true to current canon. However, if we are willing to consider Crisis Core from 2007 as canon, then I see no issue with this Ultimania unless something is directly changed.
For our Jenova project scientists, there is just more detail not spoken in the game. Some of it is fascinating and helpful.
I take this information as extra insight that the original game did not give us and mostly canon as well. Reading it felt like a stab to the chest even if I knew most of it.
We know from DOC that Lucrecia did love Vincent in the end, but during their time together she pushed him away because of the guilt with his father and gave into her love for Hojo instead.
It is….strange but that line from the CC guide about Hojo’s envy of Gast was apparently a concept here too. It supposedly was so strong that it brought out a maternal love in Lucrecia. Very likely this was before Hojo was completely mad and murderous.
I also wonder if Lucrecia’s affection was only that overall. A feeling that didn’t last when she realized Hojo’s complex was destructive and not “cute.”
These are the details some debate and I believe it has been for shipping reasons in the past…but as a non-shipper, I can see this happening with such a complex group of people.
The next bit about Lucrecia’s deterioration is also odd because it almost sounds as though Lucrecia disappeared only because of her body’s collapse. DOC once again changed the order of these events to where Lucrecia left after failing to save Vincent and losing her son.
It also looks like Vincent confronted Hojo much earlier. We are now left to interpretation maybe since DOC’s own timeline is hard to follow. There are plenty of people who have these events better thought through than me.
But if we combine all of these details together and ignore the timeline, we have more reasons for Lucrecia’s breakdown in general. Vincent’s bodily corruption, the loss of Sephiroth, and Lucrecia’s own degradation. We may not know the very order of every event until Rebirth or the third game, which is okay. These are still good details.
This hurts so much and I do not even need to explain why, ahaha. Hojo is so, so cruel to his own family.
I have recently pulled a translation from this section which some of you may recognize. All of the small details make me emotional 🥲
And this is the last one I wanted to share. I cannot stop thinking about Hojo’s inferiority complex with Gast because we know Sephiroth looked up to and admired Gast from a young age. How bitter Hojo must have been that his own son adored a man he hated. The implications of how complicated this could have made their relationship are endless. No wonder Hojo murdered Gast without hesitation. A walking mass of complexes indeed.
I think this is so emotional for me because of The First Soldier and Rebirth now. These details matter for enrichment.
Edit: I should once again clarify what I think about the 2005 Ultimania because there are fans that dismiss it thanks to its questionable text in spots. I believe that if a note from this book does not directly contradict currently established canon, then it may be safe to take in as context enrichment.
For example, all of the information about Sephiroth here is still accurate to the most recent depictions of his character, but there are small details added about why he believed he was different.
I do not see any reason to fully dismiss this because it does no harm to canon and does not go against what we have seen even in recent media like Ever Crisis.
On the other hand, the information about Lucrecia and when she left and why is much more fragile because Dirge of Cerberus added a new take on her motives. For this reason, I will only cherry-pick. I would say the detail about deterioration is accurate because that was hinted at in DOC but it’s no longer the only reason she left.
But everyone should make up their own minds on how to approach this Ultimania.

What ever you do, don’t imagine Wild having to leave the chain for the events of totk.
Don’t imagine that it hasn’t been years between botw and totk, but only however long it’s been since he joined the chain.
Don’t imagine the chain in Wild’s hyrule when a portal appears. Don’t imagine Wild going through the portal last only to discover he can’t. Don’t imagine the rest of the chain panicking and full of confusion when the portal closes and Wild isn’t there.
Don’t imagine the confusion and panic Wild felt when he didn’t go through the portal. Don’t imagine his realization that maybe it was for a reason; for another adventure. Don’t imagine Wild going back to the castle to talk with Flora and her asking him to explore below it with her.
Don’t imagine what Wild must’ve felt seeing Fi shattered. Don’t imagine him spending every moment after that worried about what Sky would think. Don’t imagine everything he was probably feeling as he jumped after Flora, just barely missing her hand.
Don’t imagine Wild waking up alone again. Don’t imagine how in a few days he went from having the whole chain at his back, all of them being a family, to suddenly having no one. Don’t imagine his guilt at Flora falling without someone to catch her. Don’t imagine his guilt at knowing the chain has no idea what happened to him, just that he didn’t get through the portal with them.
Don’t imagine Wild stepping out onto the sky islands, desperately wanting to show Sky, going so far as to turn as if to talk with him about it only to have the crushing realization that Sky isn’t there. No one is. And he’s all alone again.
Don’t imagine Wild worrying more about everyone else than himself. Don’t imagine his desperate worrying over what happened to Flora. Don’t imagine his panic for the chain—are they eating well? Are they safe? Have they gotten hurt?
Don’t imagine him sitting at a cooking pot, spacing out thinking of everyone he’s lost, only to look back and realize he’s made way too much food for one person.
(TW: What’s next can be inferred as suicidal thoughts. Stop reading here or skip past the next little paragraphs if you do not wish to read such context)
Don’t imagine Wild being ready to give up everything, because he’s already lost so much and now he has to do it all over again and what’s the point, he’s all alone—
Don’t imagine Wild deciding not to give up because he has to find Flora first and he can’t just leave his brothers like that. He’ll find Flora, and he’ll find a way back to his brothers, and he won’t give up because he can’t. Not when he has them to find. He won’t leave them. And until then, he has the sages. He has a kingdom to protect. That’s enough to hang on to for now.
Don’t imagine Wild having to go through all the events of totk without anyone by his side through the worst of it.
Don’t imagine the relief Wild felt when he finally caught Flora.
Don’t imagine that a week after the events of totk another portal appears.
Don’t imagine Wild and Flora’s goodbye.
Don’t imagine Wild’s reunion with the chain. Don’t imagine the tears and the relief and the shouted questions and the obvious changes in Wild after every new trauma he had to endure—and the obvious difference in arm.
Don’t imagine Wild falling easily back into place as the cook. Don’t imagine Wild having a nightmare the first night back with the chain. Don’t imagine Time being the one on watch that night and comforting Wild. Don’t imagine Twilight waking up first to find the two of them sitting by the dying fire, Wild resting his head on Time’s shoulder, and deciding to let them sleep. Don’t imagine the others waking up, Twilight telling them to keep quiet, and one of them taking Wild’s slate to take a picture—the first picture they’ve taken since Wild got back.
Don’t imagine all of them around the fire one night, each sharing their own journeys.
Don’t imagine Wild telling them what happened to him in both botw and totk.
Don’t imagine how finally, after so much struggle and panic and worry and frustration, Wild is back with his family.
Or do imagine all of that. I’m not your parent, I can’t tell you what you can and can’t do. Also, it’s hypocritical of me to say don’t imagine it. I know I’ve been imagining it.

Harumi and Fuyumi outfits! all these are for future references for the fanfiction! I've mentioned each meaning and context behind each one, but if you're interested so much, I'll explain in further details in under the cut!
S.O.G and Hunted
Princesses ;
very obvious! they're in their princess outfits, matching in almost everything! the only difference is that Harumi has flower petals pattern on her cloak (that I DIDNT draw), while Fuyumi has snowflakes pattern on her cloak (that I didn't draw either)
Civilians ;
Harumi has her casual fit, the jacket and the pants, while Fuyumi kept on most of her royal robes on to honor her family legacy, Harumi is annoyed because she was planning on Fuyumi dying along the emperor and empress but.. she didn't,
Harumi has makeup on and golden earrings, while Fuyumi has nothing on her face (girl lost her parents c'mon)
The Quiet One and The Prisoner ;
while they were living in the bounty, instead of crashing the ship AND also getting rid of Fuyumi, Harumi planted a chip of the piece they found in Zane in fuyumi's bed and later on Fuyumi was framed was sent to prison, she wears orange for most of the story,
Meanwhile Harumi revealed herself and the story goes almost all to canon, they go to the commissioner and get Fuyumi out and tell her everything, she's traumatized
FUN FACT ACTUALLY did you know that blue and orange are on the complete opposite side of the color wheel... I love foreshadowing
Crystalized ;
Kabuki Mask and The Empress
These are my favorite ones! Harumi has her current disguise as Kabuki Mask, covering her face because of her identity, while Fuyumi changed her hair color back to it's original color, blonde instead of platinum so she's not associated with Harumi anymore, and wears a Hanfu veil mask to cover her face because she's ashamed of her looks
Fuyumi kept the green robes because it reminded her of the empress, after literally losing everything she sorta feels numb now and doesn't even bother wiping her ruined face now :(
In another word the two are covering their faces now, whether it's because they secretly remember each other just from looking at a reflection ORRR because they need to is up to you *shrugs*

🪷 Jjk0 is proof that angry, jealous gojo is the hottest version of gojo. Dude was so pissed about geto and Miguel that he beat the daylights out of the dude for no reason except for a kfc breakup..#need
I love pathetic men (that are otherwise chill and composed) so damn much esp when the guy is shameless about their jealousy and desperation. Like ok Mr zestycles..what did you say to your cult leader ex boyfriend that made him blush and giggle right after he said he couldn't truly smile in this world?? 🤨
Just imagine ihm gojo (I know I'm obsessed with him but he's closer in age to canon gojo LOL which is why this scenario) just getting aggy as hell over someone being uncomfortably close to you..grown ass man bitching about it like... ur 36!! cock and balls out NEOWWWW👖📴🍆🫴🏼🍦😋
NO SRS bc i love silly boy gojo sm i want to kiss him but when he’s serious n locked in to get shit done n angry n inconvenienced n irritated n jealousssss 😓😓😖😖😪😪😮💨😮💨🤧🤧😵💫😵💫……he’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yea lilypad anon i trust u get the vibe xD
like i dunno it’s like when u piss of the chill person n a light switches on in them n you’re like 😳…yo who’s this new guy…and where have my panties gone. but also now that i think about it gojo is 100% the type to go “no more mr nice guy” before beating the living daylights outta someone ✋🏼😭 and it’d make me wanna suck his dick 😔😕 #notproudofit
MR ZESTYCLES HAS ME ROLLING LMFAOOO
ok yes it is so canon that he took out his breakup angst on miguel 😭😭 poor dude caught SO many strays just bc a zesty slenderman who is also unfortunately the strongest person in the world couldn’t handle being broken up with by his big beautiful goth bf over TEN YEARS AGO ✋🏼😔 justice for miguel fr
also PLS ihm gojo is mr zestycles galore n pretty decently composed most of the time but i can’t wait to write the moments where he loses his marbles bc he can have a temper for sure ✋🏼😭 esp if someone fucks up or disappoints him lol i mean it’s giving suburban cool dad that’s super chill but when he flips you just KNOW you’ve done goofed up 😓😨……………but imagine the sex tho 🤭🤭🤭
