Issa thank frick it’s Friday HIIT circuit! Yep that’s a thing trust me I’m a doctor. FULL CIRCUIT BELOW ⬇️ . . You may or may not know that I’m still cutting rn. Super slow and I’ve had some diet breaks so there are no drastic changes. Planning on keeping it up til Christmas, or at least thanksgiving (close enough right) THEN ima do a year long bulk, maybe 2 years if I’m feeling saucy. Anyways, while I’m still cutting I’m still regularly doing HIIT at the end of my lifting sessions. Here’s what this one looked like: . 1️⃣ alternating normal and sumo stance squat pulses (I did 8 each stance before switching back) 2️⃣ box toe touches - just find something slightly higher than the ground that you can do this on! 3️⃣ Romanian deadlift with kettlebell (or whatever) 4️⃣ elevated heel narrow squats with kettlebell (or whatever) these target the quads reaaaallll goooooddd 5️⃣ ‘box’ pistol squats (because I suck at regular pistol squats. Did 10 on each leg . A lil HIIT circuit I recorded a while back because I did my workout in the office gym today so couldn’t film for you but I CAN tell you that I helped a guy out with form/technique while I was in there and gave him some exercises to do to help strengthen his lower back and glutes and THIS IS WHY I LOVE DOING THIS. Leg day for strength gains! Ever feel like you suck at squats? *Le me yesterday* . Alright so here’s a few leg day clips from yesterday. Honestly because life’s been a bit hectic of late I haven’t had a proper leg day for a couple of weeks so this. Was. Hard. You can really notice when you’ve had a longer time out, everything just feels heavier than you remember. Focus was on strength development so did 4-6 sets on each movement, working up to RPE 8 at 5-6 reps. Squats felt trash (filmed set was actually a warm up set soz), Romanian deadlifts were OK but did feel harder than usual for the weight, and hip thrusts were OK except for the first 3 sets with explosive concentrics I did NOT feel the glute engagement 🙄 so final 2 sets I did controlled concentric and eccentric and felt the glute engagement intensely. Also paused on the last rep for those 2 sets for as long as possible just for good measure. That was it. I was beat! Felt good to get the blood pumping around these legs again though. . . [save for later] Here’s one I filmed earlier! (Does anyone get this reference or am I truly ancient?!) FULL WORKOUT BELOW ⬇️ . . Currently enduring a very long coach journey home. Luckily I thought ahead for once and did ya a lil HIIT circuit to get those legs and booties burning! . THE WORKOUT 1️⃣ Alternating weighted and bodyweight squat jumps (doesn’t have to be a kettlebell) 2️⃣ sumo squats with bicep curls (dumbbell would be better than a kettlebell here because kettlebells are awkward lel) 3️⃣ Banded angled step out (do each side as a separate ‘exercise’) 4️⃣ Banded in and out jumps Do each for 30 secs, no rest between exercises.
