I realized I've never drawn Dmitri, so I redrew the one scene in Fleeing the Complex

Day 17/18 - Fleeing the Complex and Dmitri Petrov! Schoolwork's unfortunately been catching up to me but I need to draw these prompts, sleep be damned!

As much as I prefer classic ItA's premise and faction (and colour palette, honestly), this is probably one of the best moments of the original series to me. Puff's shot compositions and music and writing really hit the mark in PD, and you can tell how much he's improved over the years. The Complex Waltz, the above and below angles, the casual cruelty of Dmitri? The clock ticking down to your doom? It's so much intensity compressed into 30 seconds of film.

Have you fucking seen how much detail is on that truck, by the way. even in the original. I hadn't. I had to draw all of it. go replay that scene and look at how much fucking detail is in it

Happy 8th anniversary to Fleeing the Complex!

50 years

That is how long it has been since anyone escaped The Wall. The icy prison held the title of most feared complex in all the criminal underworld. Unlike other facilities: The Wall had a reputation for going out of their way to imprison criminals themselves, kidnapping them with no warning. Even the most legendary of villains have met their end to it.

Stories abound of that dark place; very few criminals know what exactly lurks inside. Some say that prisoners of interest are brainwashed into more Wall guards, others say that The Wall is one large criminal organization itself pretending to be a prison, or perhaps it's a cover for something even stranger.

However there are two things everyone can agree upon:

Once you enter that place, you will never be seen again...

The cold warden is not to be trifled with...

ROUND 2-A: Henry Stickmin VS Pearl

About Henry Stickmin: A thief with a giant criminal record, the world's weirdest luck along with being incredibility resourceful and having unexplained abilities ranging from things that should be impossible, various references to other media, and the Distraction Dance. He has committed at the very least 5 crimes in any start-to-finish play though, counting all endings he has a total of 22 crimes on his record.

About Pearl: During the Splatoon 2's Final Splatfest, she represented Team Chaos while also invoking Artiticle 4 of Splatfest Law, were the outcome of the Splatfest had to take effect in Inkopois (Team Chaos also won the Splatfest). She can break glass and presumably electronics with her voice and despite this she was a death metal singer sometime before the games and wrote a song called "#$@%* Dudes Be #$@%* Sleepin".

Timeline 2231 to 2331

Henry decided to try something, which is staying in the house and not going out without sleeping and eating, wanting to try (?) and (?) to let them alive even though he didn't meet them and the result failed after 100 resets. Henry reset by hanging himself because he couldn't continue to the next checkpoint, there was THE END screen which blocking him away. This causes Henry to go crazy and stressed as well as the wound on his neck

I just went with the fastest route I could take, and made a screenshot edit, original image comes from the THSC wiki page, mind you.

I also made art for days 19 and 21 at the same time so I don't have a heavy workload, I might skip day 20 though.

So we know Markiplier is like semi canon to FNAF and that one lil music gacha (Dyslyte I think) where else has he been if anywhere else? And like I don't mean he plays a character in it, I mean he's more or less himself

Edit: almost forgot him and JSE Sean were in Henry Stickmin (screenshot from YouTube video by GuyWithAHat) with the hilarious implications that he was arrested for failing his try not to laugh challenges, the Wall really said "Skill issue"

Fleeing the Complex is probably my favorite game in the Henry Stickmin series. For completely normal reasons of course.

Meanwhile, during the Riot at the Wall:

Heath Stone (left): Oh, no, not the prisoners! We gotta put the prisoners back in their boxes, Isaac!

Isaac Binderson (right): Why'd we lock these prisoners up with all their equipment on?!

Why did I spend so much time coloring in the Wall Complex and then draw two minor characters as the focal point for the joke? Well, A: sometimes we need a little color in our lives, even if those colors are gray and brown; and B: the haha funny joke wouldn't make sense if Dmitri and Grigori were the ones saying it. Also, Dmitri and Grigori will get their own joke tomorrow; and Dmitri already got a joke two days ago! You can only give the characters so many jokes (I say, despite having used multiple characters for jokes by now)! I remembered these two were a pair together, so they get to be the haha funny people of the day.

Anyway, tomorrow is Day 18, and as you probably inferred, it'll be Dmitri and Grigori's day! Here's the prompt list I've been using in case you're curious (ignore the markings on it, they're not accurate):

On my way to posting fanart in a probably dead fandom

So I was thinking back on a reply I posted about how the Toppat clan could’ve been responsible for Henry getting locked up at the Wall after being pardoned. My autistic brain wants to elaborate more on how big brained of a move this could’ve been for the Toppats.

So I already mentioned before how they manipulated an enemy faction to take down another enemy of theirs without having to use any more man power. Quite the smart move. After thinking about it, in the brief period after the events of FTC and prior to CTM, the Toppats also got something out of every government affiliated ending in FTC. They were one of the victors of Fleeing the Complex.

Convict Allies: The wall got sent into disarray while many of their members managed to escape in the chaos. This is something that hasn’t happened in 50 years according to Dmitri.

Ghost Inmate: Either they believe that their plan had worked, or word got out about Henry escaping. The latter is more interesting because now the Toppats know of someone who has successfully escaped the wall. That is invaluable knowledge to have to get their members out. And Henry is surprisingly easy to capture, you do the math.

International Rescue Operative: A government entity has now seen for their eyes how much of a human rights abuse the Wall is, not to mention said Wall kidnapping one of their own after being pardoned. We’ve seen from the wanted posters in Master Bounty Hunter ending in CTM that there’s people captured in there that not even government bodies know about. This leads to two things: 

The government will take heat off of the Toppats to go after the Wall. 

The Wall might actually get shut down. This leads to incarcerated members being sent to potentially easier to break out of prisons.

Presumed Dead: Similar to Ghost Inmate. Between FTC and CTM the Toppats can assume their plan had gone even better than intended. Henry Stickmin is dead and can never interfere again. Of course they’re proven wrong by the events of CTM, but for a short while this was a win.
