Today I got started thinking about raspberries.
Guys, I love raspberries. Raspberry iced tea, raspberry yogurt, raspberry smoothies, raspberries on their own. I adore them. They're a pretty color and when they're blended they're another pretty color and they taste amazing and they've got a super fun texture.
Tonight I was treating myself to one of my favorite foods: yogurt with honey and frozen raspberries mixed in. I can't get enough of that stuff (and being on an antibiotic gives me an excuse to eat as much yogurt as I want ;))
As I was stirring up my treat, I couldn't help but wonder: Did God know? Did God think about this moment? When God made bees, did He think about how their honey would sweeten my snack this evening? When God made cows, did He consider which cow's milk would make my yogurt? When God made raspberries, did He know we'd freeze them so we can eat them year round? Did He know how much I'd love the flavor and the color and the texture? Do you think I was on God's mind when he made raspberries?
Because I think I was, and it's incredible. God made raspberries and knew I'd love them. What else did He make with us on his mind? As He forms each daisy, does he think "I can't wait until Kazzy sees this one?" As He sends the sun and rain on the crops of wheat that'll become the flour that'll become the cakes I bake, does He think about the joy that I get from doing that? He created the sand that became the glass became the lenses of my glasses— when He did that, did he realize He was granting me greater sight?
I think He did know, and it's honestly blowing my mind how many blessings I have that remind me how often I am on God's mind.
God, thank you for raspberries, and yogurt and honey and sunshine, and all the little blessings I take for granted every moment 🙏

Got to see one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed tonight. (The camera exposure exaggerated the color quite a bit but it was still incredible to the naked eye)
Honestly all I could see was God. Like if this is just the sky on a random Friday, what does the glory of God shining around his throne look like? What does Heaven have in store for us?
I am in awe, I honestly have no words.

“Citizens” by Jon Guerra is in my opinion the single best song about the true substance of Christianity— the compassion, the questioning, the anger, the guilt, the doubt, the honesty. It is truly human nature meeting divine love, and it will tell you more about Jesus than most any western church will.
(It also appeals for immigration rights on a Biblical basis and I love it)
“Coming to you for the mothers who are all running for cover There is a flood from their weeping, tell me you won’t make them go I need to know there is justice, that it will roll in abundance And that you’re building a city where we arrive as immigrants And you call us citizens And you welcome us as children home”

"And he said unto another, Follow me." - Luke 9:59
Just as Christ called the people of his day to walk with him so that they'll end where he is (John 14:1-3), he yet does the same today.
Yet, walking with God is intimate. It consist of trust, belief, hope. God's knows why he calls each one of us, and individually has his plan for us. His will for our lives brings us into knowing the Father (John14:6). His will or his way is one that others can't believe for us, nor will we at times. . . His will for our lives that he calls us into requires the Holy Ghost strengthening us to endure, keep the faith, and to believe. Otherwise, we won't experience the eternal life that the Son gives, that was predetermined in God before the foundation of the world. God has our lives planned, but it is a matter of trust in him -- belief.
Trust God. Look to him. We can't look for anyone to believe for us into what God individually has for us. We can't look to anyone to believe along with us for what or how God leads us in our lives. . . We'll even question and won't be too thrilled ourselves concerning things. "His thoughts are not our thoughts neither are our ways, his . . ." (Isaiah 55:8)
📖 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. - Luke 14:26

An excerpt from the current story I've been writing.
She had noticed them immediately as she raised her head to breathe in the unusually cool air. They stopped her in her tracks and she nearly fell over as she missed the steep step-down on the broken sidewalk.  There were many of them and they hovered still in the sky as far as her eye could see. They were smooth, ice-grey disks with no other defining features. They almost blended in with the grey of the sky, but they were so big that they could not be missed. Carissa stared up at them, open-mouthed, hardly believing what she was seeing and hardly believing that no one else was seeing this as she wildly whipped her head around to see if anyone else was gaping up at the sky. The old lady in her yard across the street was watering her plants. The school girl in her blue uniform further up the street was giggling at her phone. The lanky man wearing a graphic t-shirt and ridiculously sagged jeans swerved around her on the sidewalk, shooting her an annoyed glance as he passed. Trinidadians were known for making a scene when they saw something out of the ordinary.  Maybe she was just seeing things.
This is still unedited, but I know I'll be keeping this section in.

I have to admit, it was one day flipping the channels and I accidentally came across Dr. Stanley that my love for God was rekindled (I had walked away from God because I allowed myself to not know Him but being disgruntled by the action of people at a certain church). Something about the way taught God’s Word was a comfort.
*This is where I learned to call myself a “Follower of Jesus Christ”. As Dr. Stanley used to say,
“…anyone can call themselves a ‘Christian’ but when you say you’re a Follower of Jesus Christ” you’ve drawn a “Line in the Sand””.
I then found out (about myself) that I loved to be taught and not “preached to”. I truly believed by my finding my way back to God that this played a part of me finding my Queen. 😍
He lived a full life (90 years old). My Queen and I loved and respected Mr. Stanley.
Thank for being a lover of HIS word and making me realize that in order to love the Lord is that I have to learn the word of my Heavenly Father so that I will not be mislead by others.

Blame it on Purple
In 2012 I was known as the “Purple Mom”. That was because of a business I was in, and my son was the CEO of that company. The color of the company’s logo was purple so in building my business, I wore a lot of purple. I was fully invested in that company, and you could tell by how committed I was to advertising that would bring in more people into my business. Last week, on my Gmail account,…

How To Hear God's Voice Through Prophetic Words
Imagine what could happen in your co-worker’s life, your child’s life, your friend’s life, or your spouses’ life if you heard from God and shared a word that would strengthen, encourage, and comfort them?💙 Imagine what could happen in your own life if you received words like that from them!! Today, let’s open ourselves to the supernatural way God wants to work among us. Let’s hear from him for…

In case anyone's wondering how I'm doing— I spent all day at home and had a sick day because of last night. Today itself hasn't been so bad, and even when I had some more complex foods later in the day, I managed to keep everything I ate down.
That is, until tonight, when, after spending a half hour coughing (and running to the bathroom a couple times because apparently restroom runs become a LOT more frequent with a cough like this) I ended up throwing up a little bit again. it wasn't as much as yesterday, and honestly right now it's not nearly as inconvenient as the coughing! I can't lay down for more than three minutes without coughing, and my headache and runny nose are not helping things 😔
Praying friends, please lift me up in your prayers. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning, but I think it's gonna be a long eight hours until then, and even then, who knows if they'll find out what's wrong with me?
[God does. God knows.]
Also, if you get a second, pray for my mom. She's been stressed enough as is recently, but all the sickness (mine is significantly the worst, but everyone else in the family is a bit of a coughing mess too right now) is making it even harder on her.

Following Jesus Part 2
What does Jesus expect of his followers?
Here are three things that Jesus requires of his followers (disciples).
1. If we love Jesus, Jesus expects that we will obey him.
John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
What commandments – the three found in the New Testament; Love God, love your neighbour, love one another as I have loved you John 15:12
2. We are expected to follow his example
Jesus told His disciples to follow Him, while He showed the disciples how to follow God. Jesus did not tell His disciples to follow other teachers; in fact, He warned against "false teachers" and rejected teachers of questionable beliefs. Paul followed the example of Jesus as he instructed believers to follow him, 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ."
It is scary thought to consider ‘just who are our children following today’? Our modern society "teachers/leaders" can include both people and peers and even the media. Media includes influences such as educational curriculums, books, television, music, movies, gaming, internet, etc. This is an urgent need for people especially our children to see just who it is that we are following.
Many people would rather follow someone on Twitter rather than follow Jesus in life.
3. Jesus expects His disciples to count the cost of following Him. In the book ‘Mere Christianity’ [1] C.S. Lewis put the idea of counting the cost like this:
"The terrible thing, the almost impossible thing, is to hand over your whole self--all your wishes and precautions--to Christ.
A.W. Tozer on this topic expressed it like this: "Among the plastic saints of our times, Jesus has to do all the dying, and all we want to hear is another sermon about his dying."
Part of following Jesus is being willing to put the self-life to death.
Rom 6:11a Think (reckon) of yourselves as dead to sin.
Death to self is NOT optional for Christians- We need to count the cost of following Jesus and the effects it will produce in our lives. It is a sobering thought to read-
Mat 10:38 anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Amen
Personal Prayer
[1] C S Lewis Mere Christianity Chapter 23: 24, 26-33.
In Part 3 we discuss the path that Jesus wants us to follow.
