man. I'm working on compiling a list of masters programs I want to apply to, so I can narrow it down on what I can AFFORD to apply to. Because each application costs money, so I'm not applying to just everywhere like I should absolutely be able to.

the number of these master programs that want 1300 PER CREDIT HOUR (58k thereabouts USD for a 2 year master program) is BONKERS. This is more than I can expect to make in a year starting out unless I get lucky.

Granted there are schools that offer WAY less per credit hour (the main school I'm pretty sure I'll go to if they accept me is about 17k for the full degree iirc)

#kids #when deciding to go for your masters make sure you look at your expected salary with a degree #look at the low and the average not the high #the total cost of your masters degree should never be more than your expected average pay in the field #for a singular year #im not sure this will apply universally across degrees #and is a us centric view this wont apply internationally i am positive #there are other things to look at #can you afford to get the loan #will they offer you scholarships #all that jazz #but the minimum to look at is if the degree will cost more than you can expect to make in a year #not because you'll be able to pay it off in that time #unless you're super lucky and good with money #it's just that you're paying too much otherwise for most degrees #again ymmv but #jesus #school is fucking expensive

what really kills me about ace attorney is the time. the length. the lasting effects of it all. seven years of disbarment. fifteen years of believing you killed your father. how long was simon imprisoned? how long did lana skye have to live in fear and obedience? how long was diego armando in a coma? we remember the numbers, but are we as aware as they are of how much that time has blended into their identities, how it's now at their cores, the most horrible parts of their lives being so big and important, not just something that can be let go of and erased. they all fucking came back wrong and they will never be the same but the game goes on and they live to the best extent of what they can be now. ace attorney reminds me to say "it is what it is" more and i think that's beautiful

So I may or may not have spent way too much time on this! I was going for the vibe of a movie poster, because the idea of CS having one is just really cool to me.
