Having the Pokémon brainrot again so here's some of the Crème Republic cookies with Pokémon teams, a lot of these have to do with my personal headcanons and fanon but if anyone have any suggestions/changes I would really like to know!
Many notes about my reasonings under the cut for those who are curious;
To start of, many of you may have noticed that some- if not ALL of them have at least one water type on their team; this is simply because the Crème Republic is and ISLAND and the ocean theme is often a big part of the city.
Grand Madeleine has some motherly but fearsome Pokémon (Kangaskhan with Mega-Evolution, Marowak [Alola], Nidoqueen) along seemingly cute ones that can actually kill you (Togekiss, Primarina, Raichu [Alola]). Also two of them are the Alola regional variant because, again,, Island. Also the Primarina may or may not have belonged to someone else before 👀.
Madeleine is the typical popular guy, so he has three starter Pokémon for different regions that represent different gimmicks from the games (Sceptile that can Mega-Evolve, Quaquaval that can Terastallize and Cinderace with Gigantamax) He also has a Dragonite and Lucario mostly for show, but his ace is a shiny Armarouge that was given to him by his mother as one of two Charcadet when he was a child- Mmh, wonder who got the other one...
Espresso has Pokémon who are active at night (Umbreon who he had since he was born when it was just an Eevee and a Lunatone) and some that had been seen with scientists in games to help him with research, or just have unique qualities not many Pokémon have (Porygon-Z, Rotom, Kabuto, Castform). Espresso doesn't do much battle, which is why his Kabuto hasn't evolved.
Financier gets both a Gardevoir and Gallade that can Mega-Evolve (because she deserves it, also Gardevoir original Japanese name is 'Sirknight' like come on, it was meant to be lh) Tyranitar because is a Pokémon often use in competitive, Mienshao and Kingdra for some type coverage and Empoleon because starter, and probably given to her by Millefeuille as a child because I love symbolism.
And finally, Clotted Cream gets a Lapras that Light Cream surrendered after he was adopted by Elder Custard, because she knew she couldn't take care of it anymore. Had an emotional support Eevee that evolved into Espeon, Arcanine mostly for intimidation but his is just a big friendly puppy that wouldn't hurt anyone, Roserade because fancy, Furfrou since their Pokedex entries states that they'd used to serve as guards for kings, and last but DEFINITELY least is the outliner Mismagius "generously gifted" to him by Custard since,,, wouldn't you like to know-

I’ve been slowly working on making the eternal gales cast new refs and icons, here’s a dump of what I have done so far
#keese draws#eternal gales#oc art#oc#ocs#ignore the inconsistent quality in some of these there’s a lot of them and I only have had so much motivation to draw#I don’t plan on remaking busy and softie’s refs for the time being but everyone else is on the chopping block#I’m not gonna rush it tho this is just for my sake since my art style has changed so much recently#oh wait that’s right butter is also good I made them a new ref a while back I think#that just leaves 11 refs and like 12 or so icons. woo.#and that’s without counting side characters and god forbid I finally get around to designing the au antags#it’s been over five years and none of those bastards have ever gotten even my weak excuse for a reference rip#to be fair I have tried to design them several times it’s just annoying because of color palettes#I hate making color palettes. my most hated part of character design no competition#but yeah the staliens are the easy part it’s the human kids that are gonna make me wanna tear my hands off#it’s not physically hard to draw them but mentally it’s the worst agony#ok no fydd is physically hard to draw. I do not have the beak drawing experience I should have having drawn this kid for five years#like I figured out shoe and sock and they’re my Only snake characters#well ok it’s not like I have many beaked characters either but shhhh#bloom doesn’t rly Need a new ref as technically most of my art style changes don’t effect her design at all#but the anatomy in her current one bugs me so it’s getting remade anyways#I’ll probably do new sprinkles ref first then looser then alpha to finish off the staliens#and after that I should Really do aris first for the human cast she is in desperate need of a new ref#and after that I’ll do the snake triplets then mase and then whoever I feel like doing after that#those three are just in the most intense need after that it doesn’t matter much

SV AU where Shen Yuan transmigrates into a dragon.
It's not so bad, at first. He's an extremely magical sort of dragon so he can easily take on a humanoid shape, and he has dominion over an entire mountain, with a magical gate that leads to his palace. Said palace has a fully stocked treasury, a library, garden, etc, with the only real downsides being that the place is kind of huge and very difficult for a neet with limited housekeeping or landscaping skills to keep up with. The original dragon had enslaved a bunch of fairy spirits to do it for him, but since Shen Yuan has moral objections to that, he'd let them all go and they'd run off before he could even think to offer to hire any of them as paid employees instead. Not that he can blame them for being in a hurry to get gone.
He does his best, and generally enjoys being a dragon lazing on his mountain, or wandering the beauty of his palace and investigating the books and scrolls kept there. He doesn't actually seem to need to eat or drink, so that's not really an issue, and nobody looks keen to bother him. But after a few months the dust starts to really pile up, and trying to figure out how to do his own laundry without modern equipment leads to several disasters, and even though he doesn't need to eat he's starting to think it would be quite nice to have a fancy sit-down dinner and enjoy it for its own sake anyway. He has an enchanted larder but his food prep skills aren't up to much.
So, Shen Yuan ventures away from his mountain. He keeps to his human disguise when he's not traveling, and at first tries to hire on some help from a nearby city. But when he explains that he lives on the mountain, he realizes the difficulty, because everyone in the area knows that only the dragon lives there. So they all think he's either a liar or a fraud, or some servant of a nefarious supernatural creature angling to trick and possibly devour them.
Shen Yuan tries approaching another town in his dragon form, to see if anyone will actually deal with him if he's being upfront and honest about the situation, but the townspeople just panic. He returns to his mountain to rethink his strategies, and in the meanwhile the alarmed locals hire a swordsman to go after him. The guy gives him a few very painful cuts before Shen Yuan mostly-accidentally sends him careening into a boulder. One broken arm later the swordsman is gently persuaded that the pay he was offered isn't worth the effort on this job, and leaves.
Discouraged, Shen Yuan decides he's gonna give this one last try. He picks the second closest city, flies up, and is like yes hello, yes I am indeed a dragon, no I'm not trying to burn down your walls, yes it would be excellent if you stopped shooting arrows at me, look they don't even get past the scales? It's kind of silly? Okay, yes, thank you very much. Good. Now, the thing is, I'm looking for some people. I want to take them back to my mountain with me, to my incredibly nice palace, and -- what was that? A princess? No no I don't want a princess, what would I even do with one? If anything I'm looking for the complete opposite of a princess!
Anyway, the locals take this to mean that the dragon is demanding a sacrifice in the form of a pretty boy of no particular pedigree, and Shen Yuan takes this to mean that he's finally made his case clear and they're going to dig up someone who is willing to overlook his being a dragon in exchange for free room and board and fair wages out of his massive treasury.
SY's a bit disheartened when the entire city could only apparently turn up one such person -- an underfed teenage boy who looks at Shen Yuan like, despite the situation, he is still expecting to be eaten at any moment. Poor thing! But at least having one servant means he can potentially get more, especially if it all goes well. The lad can tell others that working for a dragon isn't so bad! Well, provided that he doesn't give up in alarm at the state of the mountain palace.
For his part, Luo Binghe at first thinks he's definitely going to get eaten, and then that this dragon is weirdly nice about planning to eat him, and then that maybe the dragon has other (even less savory!) plans for him, until finally he sees the state of the dragon's laundry and the foot-thick layer of dust in the corners, and gets completely distracted. Mortal terror forgotten, those floors should not be that filthy, Lord Dragon respectfully that isn't how anyone should prepare rice either, but oh Binghe has never seen a kitchen so nice before in his life...!
Anyway, needless to say, it works out just fine.

i need you guys to LISTEN TO ME!!!! whenever you guys post about how he "doesn't belong in the bad sanses" you piss me off!!! here's why!!
yes, he didn't kill his entire au like *ahem* some people.(dust /aff) BUT. he's killed so many kids for the sake of his ego. he was presented with a solution (his magic powering the core, which WORKED, AND HE SURVIVED.) YES, undyne betrayed him, but generally his decision was for the greater evil. He destroyed the core out of pettiness for being betrayed
and it's SO FUNNY because y'all saying he's not that bad is literally what he would say. he thinks he's good. you guys are being DECEIVED!!!!
he MANIPULATED papyrus into getting hooked on human meat, because of his CHOICE to destroy the core and keep all monsters in darkness. he destroyed papyrus mentally. he lied.
he didn't let himself be the sacrifice, and even if yes, no one wants to be a sacrifice, even when he DIDN'T DIE. and the remaining eye kept him ALIVE he chose to do all of that. yes, unfortunately, your babygirl, is morally fucked up!! and that's okay!! he destroyed the undergrounds chance at survival.
he may not have killed everyone he knows, but he doomed them. mentally and physically. his brother, his friends. not to MENTION what he did to alphys. (that is completely different.)
"he's only killed like two people in self defense!!" first of all. no. the kids. you all ignore the humans. even if they are not children most or some of the time, he still chose the solution for hunger to kill and eat ans sometimes torture countless people that have fallen underground. he's a bad guy, therefore, belongs in the bad sanses.
sorry if i didn't articulate myself well, peace

PLEASE. please. if you would be so kind to give us some more stalker ex scara... the first time I saw it it just changed my brain chemistry, and I desperately need more </3
>:D thinking a lot about stalker ex Scara, but you get really drunk and he's the only one left to look after you......
(cw: yandere, nsfw, non-con, alcohol/intoxication, toxic ex scara, modern college au, connected to the previous stalker ex scara concept)
Just,,, the fact that he's been so good and sweet ever since he casually slid himself into your friend group and you're not sure if you can trust him, yet here you are being completely, utterly, stupidly vulnerable in front of your very unstable ex. orz
Kuni's not one for parties; in fact, he'd much rather spend his precious time doing quiet, comfortable things with you (cuddling is so much healthier than drinking, after all! <3). Unfortunately, you allow your foolish friends to talk you into attending these brain-rotting parties so you can get drunk off your ass, and he can't let you attend them by yourself because there are too many risks. If you got too comfortable with Venti or Kazuha or even Tighnari while drunk, Kuni would never forgive you. >:( he's worked too hard cultivating this friendly image for himself, and he isn't going to let you or anyone else ruin it.
But right now everyone else is too inebriated to do much of anything, and he hasn't touched the drinks ever since he arrived, instead choosing to anchor himself to some forgotten corner of the room. He sulks and broods in silence, a scowl plastered to his face. He's just barely tolerating it for your sake. It's because he loves you that he's doing any of this. Soon you won't even need any of these troublesome friends. Soon you'll just have him, and he's all you really need. It was like that when you were growing up, after all. Even though, as painful as it is, you don't seem so codependent, so swept up in romance... You're so independent now, no longer the shy, fearful thing from the final few months of your relationship with him. He'd be impressed if he wasn't trying so hard to isolate you from each of your friends. It's a challenge when he's trying to tiptoe around Heizou's sharp, witty perception or Venti's proclivity for knowing everything about everyone despite no one knowing much about him.
But he endures. He's gone years without you; this is nothing.
If you were smarter, you'd know not to trust a word he says. That kind, soft smile he's perfected for this act is not to be believed, especially not when he's using it to assure your friends that he'll bring you home safe and sound. Heizou has his doubts because it's late and you can hardly walk a straight line, but he's tipsy just like the others and it's hard to deliberate like this. Besides, when has Kuni ever let the group down? :)
He takes you back to his dorm instead because Albedo's not home and he has the entire room to himself. While you meander clumsily over to his bed, kicking your shoes off and shucking your jacket in the process, he watches. You have no idea how much he depends on you, how much he admires you, so much so that it surpasses love and lust entirely. Without you, he's nothing. Or that's what he thinks because for the majority of his life he's felt empty and sub-human and so alone. But now you're here, and you can fill those empty spaces in his heart and give him a reason to keep living.
You don't seem particularly fazed when the bed dips under his weight. Rather, you blink sleepily up at him when he leans over you, gingerly reaching to help you out of your sweater. You're too drunk to protest or struggle, and you feel so dizzy every time you open your eyes. It's difficult to remain fully conscious when sleep is tugging at your body, pulling you under. You don't even realize he's fit his mouth on yours until his tongue is pushing past your lips. You manage to place your hands against his chest, intending to push him away, but you're so exhausted and tired. They fall to your sides, useless.
Kuni sits up and smiles at you. He says something about you being dumb and cute... or something about how your friends are fools. You don't really catch all of his obsessive murmurings when your attention is waning. Clothes are torn off; he kisses you a lot. You're not sure if you're reciprocating, but it certainly sounds that way when you're whining beneath him, arching against sodden sheets, your breaths coming in pants and huffs each time he ruts into you.
He doesn't have to worry about anything. Right now, it's just you and him in a corner of the world, locked away from everyone who might try to take you away from him. It's not like you'll remember much come morning. You don't need to anyway. It's better if you're lost and bewildered. That way he'll be able to craft a story to suit his fancy. You'll believe it. You'll have no choice, and Kuni knows how to tell very believable tales.

It had been a while since Sebastian first set foot into this miserable facility. He had quickly learned that there was no rushing through it on his search for the crystal—no surviving without the proper preparation. And on his search for supplies, he learned that his only true ally would be you.
You were the funny, laid-back shopkeeper who somehow always had the right tools and gadgets he needed to keep himself alive. Sebastian still remembers his first trade with you when you’d taken the jacket off your back in exchange for a simple smile and some assets. Then, there was the time you saved his life from that rogue Pandemonium encounter that had snuck up behind him while he was examining a shelf. He had been grateful then, but now, after so many more interactions, you two had started dating. It had been unexpected, something of a surprise for both of you, but it seemed to work, despite all the bizarre situations you found yourselves in down here.
Today was just another day in the shop. You were leaning against a table with that usual, easygoing smile on your face. Sebastian stood beside you, his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall, his eyes always on the lookout for any potential threats—or annoyances.
The little bell above the shop door that you found a while ago, jingled, and in stumbled Berry, one of the many expandables who often found their way to your shop. Berry was a peculiar fellow, clumsy and confused most of the time, with a permanent dazed expression on his face. His hair stuck up at odd angles, and he seemed to be perpetually dirty, as if he hadn’t washed in weeks. Sebastian immediately tensed. Of all the people who could walk through the door, it had to be Berry.
“Is 100 much?” Berry asked, blinking up at you with wide, innocent eyes. He was holding a handful of broken flashlight parts, and he looked genuinely bewildered.
Sebastian sighed deeply, rolling his eyes. Berry was one of those customers who just got under his skin. Confused, clumsy, and somehow miraculously still alive. Sebastian often wondered how someone like Berry had managed to survive in this place. The guy was as clueless as they came.
You, on the other hand, seemed entirely unfazed by Berry's presence. You were used to dealing with his type. With a delighted blink, you smiled at him. “100 deaths are” you said in a cheerful tone. Berry’s face scrunched up in confusion, his eyes darting between you and the pile of flashlight parts. “100 deaths?” he repeated, looking more confused than ever.
You nodded, your smile never faltering. “Yep! You’ve got about 100 deaths' worth of useless junk there, my friend.”
Sebastian couldn’t hold back his frustration any longer. “Buy something or get lost,” he groaned at Berry, his tone exasperated. He crossed his arms tighter, his posture stiffening with irritation. It was always like this with Berry—he would come in, waste everyone’s time with his inane questions, and then leave without buying anything.
Berry, oblivious as ever, blinked a few more times before finally seeming to understand what Sebastian had said. “Oh, um, right. I guess I’ll…just look around then,” he mumbled, shuffling away to browse through a stack of dented cans on a nearby shelf.
You chuckled softly, casting a sideways glance at Sebastian. “You know, you could be a little nicer,” you teased, your tone light and playful.
Sebastian snorted, rolling his eyes. “Why? He’s an idiot. He’s been in here a dozen times and still doesn’t know how this place works.”
“Not everyone is as sharp as you,” you replied, reaching over to give Sebastian’s arm a gentle squeeze. “Besides, it’s kind of endearing. In a weird way.”
Sebastian rolled his eyes again, but he couldn’t help the small smile tugging at his lips. “You have a weird definition of ‘endearing,’ you know that?”
You grinned. “I have to, dating you.”
Berry’s clumsy fumbling brought their attention back to him. He had somehow managed to knock over an entire shelf of items, sending cans and trinkets clattering to the floor. He looked up, eyes wide with panic, as if he’d just set off a bomb.
“Oops…” Berry muttered, his face turning a shade of red that rivaled the rust on the metal shelves.
Sebastian groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. “Great. Just great.”
You laughed, patting Sebastian’s arm. “It’s fine, really. I’ll handle it.” You moved around the table and began helping Berry pick up the fallen items, your demeanor calm and patient. “Don’t worry about it, Berry,” you said soothingly. “These things happen.”
Berry’s face lit up with a grateful smile. “Thanks. You’re always so nice.”
Sebastian watched the scene unfold, his annoyance slowly fading away. Despite himself, he couldn’t help but admire the way you handled things. No matter how chaotic or frustrating things got, you always managed to stay calm and collected. It was one of the things he loved most about you.
After the mess was cleaned up, Berry finally decided on a couple of items and paid for them, waving awkwardly as he stumbled back out of the shop. As soon as the door closed behind him, Sebastian let out a long sigh of relief.
“Thank god,” he muttered. “I thought he’d never leave.”
You chuckled, leaning back against the table beside him. “He’s harmless,” you said, nudging him playfully. “You don’t always have to be so grumpy, you know.”
Sebastian gave you a sideways glance, a small smile playing on his lips. “Yeah, yeah. I know.”
He reached out and pulled you closer, wrapping an arm around your waist. You leaned into him, resting your head on his shoulder. Despite his gruff exterior, Sebastian had a soft spot for you—a side he rarely showed to anyone else.
“Thanks for putting up with me,” he said quietly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
You smiled, closing your eyes and savoring the warmth of his embrace. “Always,” you replied softly. “After all, someone has to keep you in check.”
Sebastian chuckled, tightening his hold on you. “Guess I’m lucky to have you, then.”
“Damn right,” you teased, poking his side playfully.

Platonic Yandere!Batman x gn!Reader
Purge AU. Info on au. You receive your official government letter announcing a yandere's claim on you in tomorrow's Purge. Accompanying it are five crimson letters from the yanderes themselves. ~600 words
Dear [Name],
I want to take this first encounter to assuage your fears—you are in no danger.
The fear you must be feeling might be the most dreadful you’ve ever experienced, and I’ll forever regret it. While the monotonous bureaucracy of the Purge is taxing on everyone, it’s a necessary evil… Inside this letter, you’ll receive what brief explanation I can give you and, hopefully, comfort you in some capacity.
[Name], I’m your father, and this letter is my official and legal introduction. In the next 24 hours, I and your siblings will bring you home.
You don’t know this yet, but we met on a moonless evening many months ago. You were walking alone, trying to leave the emptying streets before Gotham’s evening crowd took hold of the city. I worried for you and decided to keep a close eye until you were home safely, but something about your demeanor kept my attention. How polite and unassuming, yet quick to navigate the streets you were. You drifted through the evening like a wayward spirit, eventually finding yourself in my heart and soul.
That chance encounter sent us spiraling down a destined path, one in which I never anticipated would lead to here. I never realized the grim darkness I had been living in until I experienced your light, and now, the day before our first meeting as father and child, the promise of eternal contentedness just beyond these 24 hours is almost too much to bear.
Your brothers and sisters are equally ecstatic. You’ll never be bored for a moment in your life moving forward, as the halls of our home are always thrum with the echoes of banter and excitement. I can’t promise it will be an easy life free from any sorrows, but your new family already loves you so, so dearly.
In time, I’m confident that you, too, will reflect on this event as the start of a better life.
However perfect your joining our family seems, I find myself asking how it came to this. How did I discover a soul as kind and lovely as yours? Despite all my failures and shortcomings, the world still crossed our paths and sent the merger of our lives into motion.
As a servant of justice, I’ve dedicated my life to protecting what is moral and just. I’ve spent decades refining my values and priorities, yet this has often left me at fragile crossroads between myself and my children.
I’m flawed. I’m imperfect. I don’t think I’ll ever be worthy of being your father. I need you to know these things before we meet, to save yourself from the inevitable misfortune that will strike us. Yet know this: there is not a force in this world that will keep me from you. I love you more than I love humanity, more than the Earth itself. I would defy the laws that govern the universe if it meant seeing you happy.
The world is dangerous and unpredictable. However inadequate I feel at protecting your light, I know you’re significantly more likely to fade from existence outside of my care.
To receive a crimson letter from the city a day before the Purge might be one of your darkest nightmares, and for that I’m sorry. With my heart, soul, and all my love for you, I promise to rectify the misery you and your biological family are experiencing. Please take comfort in the fact that you will be the most beloved and cherished person in the world.
I will give you everything. For your family’s sake, I hope they can rest easier with this knowledge.
Please remain put until we arrive.
See you soon.
Love,
Dad
Note... I love this self-hating old man. Damian's is finished and will be up soon! For more yandere batfam, visit my masterlist!

Okay, I can't hold on to these funny thoughts any longer: I HAVE unfortunately thought a lot about sex + daemons (+ SVSSS) for my "Sit With A Soul" AU. I'm going to put this under a cut for people who have no desire to think about this subject whatsoever. I was amusing myself by thinking about Bingqiu in general and Daemon AUs in general.
I did the whole "some daemons can cultivate into a human form" lore in the background of "Sit With Your Soul" mostly because I did want to give Shen Yuan a potential avenue towards having a human form again, which can potentially come up in cool ways later. (Magical transformations! Twin shenanigans!) Shen Yuan was originally human! Living the rest of your life as the fragment of someone else would probably be complicated and painful! I want to tackle that problem for the Shens! And this particular "daemons can cultivate to human forms" AU lore seemed to fit the general combination of SVSSS (and specifically "Proud Immortal Demon Way" within SVSSS) and HDM.
Once I decided on this lore, I did have to ask myself questions about different potential future pairings, if I chose to go that route instead of keeping the story relatively or even completely without any pairings. Thinking vaguely about Bingqiu as an option, I thought, "Would Luo Binghe have sex with his Shizun's daemon? (IN A HUMAN FORM.)" And then I thought, "That's a stupid question. Of course Luo Binghe would do that."
And then I had to think to myself: "Would SHEN YUAN sleep with Luo Binghe + Luo Binghe's daemon? (Xiaohui is ALSO in human form for the sake of my sanity here.)" And then I had to sort of slump over and admit to myself that yeah, if Shen Yuan somehow ended up in a human form AND in a relationship with Luo Binghe in an AU like this, he would probably not be able to resist Luo Binghe batting his eyelashes and tearfully begging + Xiaohui doing the same thing. I am not immune to bisexual Shen Yuan as a concept and Xiaohui would probably look like a girl version of Binghe. Shen Yuan would probably fold like wet paper to this particular threesome.
In this particular potential romantic setup, Shen Jiu is probably with Yue Qingyuan, and hatefully resigned to the fact that everyone thinks/knows his soul is fucking Luo Binghe. Which is funny to think about.
Also, I think it would be EXTREMELY funny if Shen Yuan is forced (after yet another threesome with Binghe & Xiaohui) to awkwardly ask Shen Jiu if daemons are capable of knocking each other up. (He's trying to be safe about this!) I think Shen Yuan would have about ten seconds of dead silence to run for it before Shen Jiu tried to (gently) kill him.

Morpheus x Female Reader
Soulmate AU
You are the daughter of Rodrick Burgess. You find out about the "demon" in the basement and decide you want to see it. Things take an unexpected turn when your soulmate connection is made with the man you find down there. You are the one he has been waiting for, and you're being taken away from. Not for long. Dream will protect his soulmate.
{Masterlist}
{Previous Chapter} - {Next Chapter}
Chapter Four - Pocket full of sand
☆☆☆
You had been locked away in that house for so long that you had no idea just how much the world had changed. You had never really been to London before, but you were sure even then it had been much different to the London you are in today.
You turn around to see Dream composing himself. He looked a little... tired, dare you say. He looks at you silently.
"You alright?" You ask.
He nods and then turns around. It's dark out, not many people around. He would know Constantine when he saw her. She had his sand.
You stand a good few steps away from him, holding yourself. You didn't bring a coat. You didn't exactly have time to bring anything. You were in a city you couldn't navigate, and your only companion was a strange man who had told you you were his soulmate.
It was a lot to take in one night.
"Constantine."
You turn around to see Dream looking at a woman in a long coat. She doesn't exactly hang about. The conversation is short as she directs his attention to a raven that has landed on the bench behind you. You find yourself confused at its sudden appearance. It seemed to be watching Dream.
"I do not need a raven."
You look at Dream, confused. The man was talking to a bird. Of all the crazy things you've seen so far in regards to this man, this was the craziest.
"Lucienne said you'd say that," the raven spoke.
You stare at the bird with wide eyes. "It's talking?"
"Uh, I'm Matthew," the raven replies.
"It's talking!"
Dream stands beside you and looks down at the raven. He doesn't act like he heard what you were saying. His attention was fully on the bird. "I do not need a raven," he repeats.
"Respectively, sir, you do." Matthew caws.
"Go back to the Dreaming."
"Look, she's got away!" Matthew exclaims, looking behind Dream.
Morpheus turns and finds Constantine has completely vanished from sight. She's made sure to put distance between them.
Dream turns to you. "Fine. You stay here with him. Don't move."
"What?" You look at him with slight panic. He can see it in your eyes.
"Just wait for me."
Dream walks off, and you scoff in disbelief. This man, who is supposedly your soulmate, has the audacity to "rescue" you from your family home and then abandon you in an unfamiliar city? The universe could have chosen someone with more dignity at least to tie you with.
You sit on the bench with a huff. Matthew cocks his head to the side, looking at you intently. You turn and glare at him, causing him to take a few steps away from you along the back of the bench.
"So, uh..." He snaps his beak gently, making a clicking sound, "who are you?"
"No one important," you sigh.
"That can't be true. Wait, are you the woman Lucienne mentioned? She said he had gone off to rescue someone."
"Does everyone know about this?" You ask.
"No? Not that I know of."
"I'm sorry, but how are you talking? You're a bird!" You look at him.
"I don't know. I just... am. I wasn't always a bird, mind you. I was like you once."
"Like me?"
"A human." He cocks his head again.
"Oh... What happened?"
"I, uh... I died."
"Oh... I'm sorry." You frown.
"It's fine. This is my life now." He ruffles his feathers a little. "So, uh... Are you just gonna sit here?"
☆☆☆!!!!!!!
Morpheus finds Constantine within her nightmare. He'd standing there when she woke. She states at him for a good few moments and then speaks. "For fuck's sake." She sighs. "How did you find me?"
"You were dreaming. But it wasn't only a dream, was it? It's a memory. No wonder you do not sleep."
"Maybe I don't deserve to."
"Perhaps not." He says to Constantine. "But I could make it go away."
"Only if I help you find your sand."
"Though finding anything in this place may require more magic than even you can muster."
Joanna falls silent for a moment and then gets up. "I'll look in the office. Try not to clean up while I'm gone."
"I'm coming with you," he says. "You have a gift for disappearing."
"All right. But if the mess in here offends you, wait till you see my office."
The office was so much worse.
Constantine started going through her things, hoping the pouch would pop up somewhere and she could get this over with. She didn't particularly want him hanging around.
"Why do humans love objects so much?" Dream asks.
"They do come in handy sometimes." Constantine tells him. "You seem pretty attached to your sand."
"It's not just an object. It's a part of me."
"If that's true, how'd you happen to lose it?" She asks, looking at him.
"It was stolen by a magic user called Burgess."
"Wait, not Rodrick Burgess? The old demon king himself, eh? Everyone used to say he was a fake. Said he had the Devil locked up in his basement. How the fuck did you..."
She looks up.
"Shit." She walks over to him. "Were you down there? All this time?"
His lack of response was in itself an answer.
Morpheus plucks a set of photos from a box and looks down at them. They picture Constantine and another woman in them.
"Is this you?" He asks.
"Why? Do I look that different?"
"No. Happy."
A moment of silence passes.
"Shit." Constantine whispers. "I know where your sand is."
☆☆☆
Dream had gone all the way to Rachel's apartment. He had first gone to Constantine's, assuming she had the sand there, but it became rather complicated quickly.
Turns out the sand was at her exes. An ex she hadn't seen in quite some time. He was ready to go inside with her, but she told him to wait outside.
She needed to do this alone, apparently. However, he was reluctant to let her out of his sight. She had a tendency to disappear.
While he waited outside, he turned to see you walking around the corner.
"I told you to wait," he scolded. Though you wouldn't say you felt overly threatened by him.
"We got bored."
"We?"
In that moment, Matthew flew down and landed by your feet. Dream was far from pleased. "I told you to wait for me."
"If we're soulmates or whatever, shouldn't I help?" You ask, looking at him just as unimpressed.
"No."
You scoff softly. "You're hard work, you know that?"
Dream says nothing as he stares at you, hands in his pockets. It's Matthew who breaks the awkward atmosphere between you both. He really doesn't know what's going on, and there was very little time to ask about it.
"You know you can't trust her, right? You should really go in there."
Dream shifts his eyes away from you. Matthew had a point.
"Wait here."
This time he was wanting you both. You cross your arms and watch him go inside. You stand there for a moment before slumping down onto the ground.
"That bad, huh?"
"I've known him less than a day, kind of. Well, I've known of him a while. It's complicated. Soulmates or whatever. I don't care about some stupid divine bond." You sigh.
"So, it's legit? The soulmate thing, I mean."
You lower your wrist to his level and show him the scar. "I got this the day I first set eys on him. Sometimes, it burns. Though it hasn't for a bit. It's what binds me to him, I think."
"Hm. So, why do I sense so much anger toward him?" Matthew caws.
"He's insufferable. We have this weird bond, and he has the emotional capacity of a teaspoon. He rescued me less than an hour ago, and now we're off on some strange quest to get... sand?"
"Well, yeah. Lucienne told me about that. He's getting his tools back," Matthew says.
"His tools?"
"His sand, his helmet, and his ruby."
"I'm so lost."
"How do I put this? Lord Morpheus is the dream lord. He is king and creator of the Dreaming, his realm. His tools include a pouch of sand, a helmet, and a ruby. Without them, he doesn't have much of anything."
You listen to Matthew speak. "I see."
"It's important he gets them back."
"I've gathered that much. I just... I don't see why I have to be part of any of this. Fine, I'm not going to grow old and die, but do I have to stay with him?"
"I don't think he's going to just let you go," Matthew caws.
"Why not? He doesn't need me."
Matthew goes quiet.
Constantine leaves the apartment and walks off, looking not so perky anymore. Not long after, Dream comes out and follows the direction she went in slowly.
You rise from the ground and watch them. He hadn't even glanced your way. Matthew goes on ahead to join the two. You keep your distance, watching them talk.
Constantine says something to Matthew, and then she looks up at you. She stares at you for a while and then turns and walks away under her umbrella.
Dream looks at the pouch in his hand and then looks up at you. "You're still here."
"You told me to wait."
"You could have run," he says flatly.
You glance at Matthew, who looks up at you. What he said earlier flashes before your mind. Dream probably wouldn't really let you go. "Yeah, well... whatever."
Dream stares at you in heavy silence. You hate it. You hate the way he looks at you. You hate the way he doesn't say anything. You can't say you're all too fond of him either.
"Stop looking at me."
Dream turns his eyes back to the pouch. "Come here."
You sighed and walked over to him, standing where Constantine had been standing just moments before.
"So, where are we going next?" You ask.
"Hell."
"Hell? Like metaphorical Hell or... Hell Hell?" Matthew caws.
Dream stares at you silently, and you swallow nervously. "Hey, I didn't agree to... that!"
"My helm is in Hell."
"I don't care. Hell? That's crazy." You yell at him quietly.
He just stares. He slowly raises his pouch and opens his other hands. He gives you time enough to walk away, but you don't. You know what he's doing. He pours the sand into his waiting palm, and it flows around the three of you in a blanket.
There really was no going back now.

in honour of being promoted to Deputy Stage Manager in my school's theatre department, top gun high school/sixth form au:
Dr Kazansky rules the drama department with an iron fist. always wearing black turtlenecks. never seen without his glasses, his coffee, and his terrifying glare (which earned him the moniker Dr Iceman). do not show up to rehearsals if you don't know your lines. death be upon the poor students who fuck around during tech and dress, because they will find out. he loves the crew tho.
Mr Call-Me-Mav Mitchell is the head of sports. you name it, he's played it, and he could absolutely give you pointers, also, do you want a protein bar with that? it's chocolate flavoured :) even the kids who Hate (capital H) sports love him. he is sunshine and adrenaline in human form. endless energy. no one knows why he is called maverick, but even the principal does it, so.
Mr Kerner is the principal. he is also the only person who can interrupt rehearsals and survive. dr kazansky loves him. inexplicably, maverick hates him. nough said.
Jake Seresin is the school's golden child, not even because he's Kazansky's nephew. he’s head boy. he’s on the school’s football/rugby team. he writes regular articles for the internal magazines. and this year, he’s playing Orpheus in the school’s production of Hadestown. everyone thinks it’s nepotism. it is and it’s not, jake just lost a bet to his Uncle Tom, and must now reap the consequences to said uncle’s delight.
Bradley Bradshaw has been stage crew since he was thirteen and an overworked runner, thank you very much. it’s his final show, he’s the DSM, and if fucking seresin ruins this for him, he will riot. dr kazansky should never let that happen. however, this is the same man who, last year, laughed when revealing that a screen on stage had turned off and bradley had to go on stage during the show to fix it. hm. maybe bradley should have re-thought his life choices. also: the turntable. the goddamn turntable.
other characters include: phoenix as eurydice, bob doing lighting, payback and fanboy as ASMs who flirt over the comms to everyones misery, cyclone as another drama teacher/stage manager,
maverick keeps turning up to rehearsals and trying to help because his favourite (cough only cough) godson and his favourite player are both interested in this stuff, so he should at least try, right? kazansky hates it until he doesn’t. kerner thinks it’s all fucking hilarious. bradley is embarrassed but its kinda endearing do NOT tell him i said that.
kazansky and maverick both bare witness to A Moment between their respective pseudo sons and decide the two simply must get together for their sakes and also so they never inflict that on another person ever.
bradley and jake both bare witness to A Moment between their respective pseudo fathers and decide the two simply must get together for their sakes and also so they never inflict that on another person ever.
kerner is cackling. Cackling.

Moon helps the city under cover, just like a real superhero should! And Sun is Joker&Dr.Horrible as Moon's nemesis! It's an enemies to lovers :D
Details: Moon bears resemblance to Batman, but not as gloomy. He goes by the name Drop as a superhero, and has an adopted daughter named Amy. Moon often visits the police station due to his work, having a direct business relationship with the police chief, Eclipse. Amy frequently accompanies her father to the police and usually just hangs out with the other colleagues while her father and the police chief converse.
Moon is a great father, but inept in romantic relationships, and has never been able to keep anyone for long. Having had no luck so far, he has given up on having someone else in his life. He used to be an assassin, but when he amassed enough money, he quit. He hates crime, but blood on his hands even more. When he adopted Amy, he swore to himself that he wouldn't kill anyone else.
Dr. Sun, or as the world knows him, Dr. Rise, is a graduated genius. Sun grew tired of humanity being trapped in the clutches of capitalism while slowly destroying the forests around it. Sun wants to create creatures by crossbreeding humans and plants that will find a balance between the two species. He was once very passionate about his work, but the truth is, he is incredibly burnt out and only does what he does for the sake of attention. He's incredibly lonely, avoided by everyone because of his bad reputation. The only entertaining thing in his life is Moon, who prevents him from hitting rock bottom. After every battle, he becomes so angry that he comes up with new ideas. His plan is to save humanity and defeat Drop.
At least, that's the current concept. To be honest, I was afraid to post this idea because lately I've seen a lot of similar designs to Sun's, and I didn't want any trouble from it. I'm not sure if there's still a superhero AU in the DCA fandom, but if there is, please let me know or reach out if your a creator :D Sorry if there's already a similar concept; I've been thinking about this AU for a few months ^^ it's not going to be a long story as i plan

So... me and @llamagoddessofficial have been cooking up an au for a while... let me show you our hmf!Sans :> (Horror Mafiafell Sans)
You're a waitress working at a bar/restaurant, and a certain skeleton has been coming back again and again. You can't help but wonder... why?
---
“He’s all yours, babe.”
You look up from notes on the wall. You’d like to ask ‘who?’ but both you and Lisa know there was no use. You already knew who it was. You didn’t even have to look out the circular window to check. You just stare at Lisa helplessly.
“Really?” You try, “can’t you just… a bit longer?”
Your words come out a perfect mess. Lisa understands anyway.
“Look… I don’t know how to tell you this (Y/n),” She puts a hand on her hip, “you know I can’t go back out there to him.”
“But…!”
You bite your lip. You know she’s telling the truth. You wish you could tell her to suck it up and go back there, no matter how scared she was but… you’re not taking chances with the current patron sitting in the corner of the bar. No one would.
For Lisa’s… and everyone’s sake, you’re not going to see what he might do if you sent her out to tell him that you won’t be serving him tonight.
You sigh, and take a peek through the window. Though elusive nowadays, it was unmistakable who the man- the skeleton in question was.
Sans was built like a tank, his form hunched over the table. Even sitting on the wide, plush red sofa, he looked like a giant, dwarfing the table and chairs like they were playsets. Monsters were already bigger than humans in general but him… he grew bigger than he used to- at least from what you’ve heard. Not like you knew the mob boss years and years ago before he got his infamous skull injury, and the blown eye in his left socket that was soaked in the blood of those who had crossed him. His mouth was set in a frown, filled with razor sharp teeth- one of which was golden.
The same scary face you saw shrouded in shadows in the alleyway, a sharp bone gripped in his large hand, dripping red.
You fled that night, not quite believing what you’d saw. That you’d just saw a skeleton kill a guy in the back of the restaurant? That it was the mob boss Sans?! He didn’t chase you then, and you hoped that’d be the end of it but then… he showed up to the bar as a patron one night.
You were almost certain then, that he had come to kill you. Especially when your dear friend Lisa had so helpfully told you that he’d asked for you in particular.
“her…” his bony finger had pointed at you. She DID tried to save you, to err on mistake- which one did you mean sir?
But every time you moved, his phalange followed. There was no mistaking who he was asking for.
You remember her panicked voice.
“He asked for you! Specifically!”
“W… huh? Why’d he ask for me? Can… are you sure-”
“YES! And I don’t know WHY!”
As reluctant as you were, you still went to serve him. You asked for his order while your grip on your pencil and notepad got slippery as your palms got sweaty. He took his time ordering, perusing through the menu with great attention, while you were praying that your legs didn’t looks as shaky as they felt. You’d never rush him, of course, even if you hadn’t seen him towering over a dead body.
You took his order, served it (stuttering), and… then he left.
… And came back. Again, and again. Every time, he’d ask for you to serve him. He always stares when you weren’t at his table (and actually, when you were at his table too). You could feel that red eye staring a hole into your back from behind. It was unnerving.
It’s a wonder why a man of his infamy would choose a bar like this. You’ve seen your fair share of criminals in this job- it was an alright-sized bar, and not exactly in the best place in town. You’ve learnt to turn the other cheek whenever they were around (and you were sure you didn’t realize just how many of the patrons were gangsters), pretend you were blind to their… occupation.
None of them had been as scary as Sans, though. In fact, his presence alone was enough to drive away most petty criminals.
This place was nothing special. It’s a wonder why he’d choose this place out of all places, especially for a guy who doesn’t like being seen much.
… Ok, that was a lie. Everyone working knew that he was here for you. But that didn’t explain the why.
It was clear to you now that he wasn’t coming here to kill you for witnessing… what you witnessed (Why was a man like Sans doing in that nothing alleyway anyway?). But if not for that then… why did he keep coming, to keep asking for you? Maybe he had… business around here and he liked the place enough to keep coming?
Whatever it was, he was here for a reason and you just… don’t get it.
You don’t get why he wants you to be the one serving him every time he was around, but you did anyway. It’s been a couple of nights now, but you can’t say you’ve become less nervous over time.
After a small inner pep talk to yourself and wringing your hands, you push open the door, walking into the dining area. There isn’t a lot of people inside, a common occurrence whenever Sans visited. Even if it had been busy before, some people would hurriedly finish up whatever they were doing, paying all at once and leaving. You’ve even seen someone stop before finishing their meal. The rest that stayed sat uncomfortably, trying their best to ignore the menacing air that the skeleton brought with him everywhere he’d go.
It didn’t work, of course. A presence like that wasn’t you could easily ignore.
(You wish you could ignore him.)
You smile awkwardly as you walk to his table, setting his drink down. At least you had a little bit of your work cut out for you, with Lisa taking his drink order. His eye zeroed in on you as soon as he noticed you, and though you’ve been taught it’s rude to not make eye contact, with him it felt like looking him in the eye would be the wrong thing to do.
“Is there anything else you’d like?” you ask, your voice sweet and soft as ever, hiding the sound of your beating heart.
He stares.
He always stares.
You see his pupil dilate a little, then he opens his mouth.
“want…”
Sans was a man of few words. He only said his order, and nothing else. It kept your meetings with him brief- even when it looked like he wanted to say something else, he wouldn’t.
This time, he spaces off for a moment, eye looking away from you. You watch his brows draw together, pinched as he concentrates on a thought. You wish you knew what he was thinking of, especially when his frown starts to peel back into a snarl, like he was angry.
You definitely weren’t expecting a hand around your waist, snatching you a second later.
You squeaked, notepad and pencil clattering to the floor, bumping against his sturdy chest. Everyone heard and turned to look, and as soon as they saw tiny you, sitting on the giant’s lap, practically all of them pointedly turned away. You wish they were still looking now- you were pleading with your eyes, help me I don’t think I’m supposed to be here!
He pushes you here and there, so that you’re sat more comfortably on his lap. Your mind goes blank, your body freezes. You could feel his chest expanding and contracting as he breathes. He sounds much calmer now that you were on his lap. Your breaths are shallow, and stop completely when you feel one arm wrap around your middle, like a restraint. His free hand raises, calling for Lisa, who you’ve just noticed is watching from the corner, clutching her apron, as clueless as you are. She approaches, trying to keep her eyes on the skeleton instead of you.
“... burgers.” he says, simply. She nods, and gives you a glance.
You furrow your brows, and you want to hiss Lisa help me! But as soon as she sees your expression she turns around, avoiding eye contact. You could almost hear her say sorry babe, can’t help you there!
You almost call out to her when a hand lands on your head. You go stiff, and after you take a quick peek at him, you look straight ahead. The monster’s phalanges start petting you, slowly, sinking into your hair, scratching your scalp. Sans let’s out a long breath, brushing your hair. A shiver runs down your neck.
… Well. I think I’ll be here for a while…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sitting on the lap of a giant skeleton was certainly an experience. You tried distracting yourself, but it was impossible when you could feel every time Sans breathed. There was nothing you could do but sit there, playing with your apron until it was a crumpled mess, sweating a puddle onto your uniform… and maybe onto Sans’ expensive suit. You couldn’t relax, even though taking away big scary skeleton aside, he was comfortable to sit on, and he was warm… and smelled of rain and embers of a dying cigar.
He ate carefully, always leaning forward (squishing you against his chest) when he took a bite of his burger, making sure the crumbs wouldn’t fall on the top of your head, wiping his hands and his mouth before he leaned back. You could feel him sighing, and since he was the only thing you could notice, it felt like this was the most relaxed he’s ever been while in the bar, his breathing slow. Apparently he really liked your hair, with how his claws kept carding through it, even while he was eating. When his hands were clean, he’d let his hands wander all over you- but nothing untoward. You could feel him tilting his skull forward to look at you, while he thumbed your cheek, and his other hand roamed around your waist and belly. Though you were nervous, you could feel when he rubbed your thigh that it didn’t feel particularly… heated.
He sighs, and you feel the pressure of his skull on the top of your head. It took everything in you not to hunch over and avoid it. You screw your eyes shut when you feel him turn his skull, and it felt like he was… rubbing his cheek on you? Like he was snuggling you? Is… is that what he’s doing?
You’re not sure and your nerves are too frayed to call it that.
He didn’t stop after he finished either, his plate clean. He was still there- and subsequently, you stayed sitting on his lap- even after they closed the bar. It was just him now. Your coworkers kept the lights on just for him, and even most of them have gone.
He’s leaning back on the cushions, and he brought both his arms around you to pull you plush against his chest, almost tucked into his neck. You wondered if this was what a teddy bear would feel like, being hugged.
The bartender was cleaning up in the kitchen. It was just you and him in the dining area.
You swallowed… wondering what he wants to do. It’s past closing, late at night, just the two of you, and his hands were still (gently) rubbing you. They haven’t gone anywhere private but- what if he wanted to? … What if he wasn’t here to kill you but.. wanted you to… you don’t know, service him or something? Did he have unsavory requests for you?
You think that thought might’ve scared you even more than the thought of him killing you.
You startle when he grunts eventually, like he’s addressing you. A giant hand cups your cheeks and against your will they turn pink. Even though you were frightened, even if his touches were unsexual they still felt… intimate.
You squeak for the second time that night when both his hands pick you up, and sets you down on the sofa. You feel a ball form in your throat when he stands up and turns to you, thoughts running with all sorts of ‘what-ifs’. He takes your hand, opening it up, and then…
And then he places a thick wad of cash in it.
“... thank you.” He says, quiet.
You stare at the stack of paper on top of your hand, blinking once, before turning to the skeleton, jumping in your seat.
He was gone, just like that.
He was always quiet, wasn’t he?
You sit there dumbfounded, for what felt like minutes, your lips parted, money still sitting innocently in your hand. You think no one can blame you when the only thing you said after you sat there in silence was a very emphatic “... Huh?”

HABITS OF MOTHER NATURE’S WILL
◤✘WANDA MAXIMOFF SERIES/AU'S | CATALOGUE Wanda Maximoff x Werewolf! GN/Female/Male Reader, (Platonic) Avengers x Werewolf! GN/Female/Male Reader ISSUE NO.#1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTES: ↳ Finished it nice and quickly, I was a bit unsure about this piece and was probably gonna scrap it before I posted the teaser. I was surprised to see how many people liked the teaser alone, and the taglist life chose me! Didn’t think that would happen so soon sooo that’s pretty cool, so if you wanna join that then let me know! I’m looking at potentially doing some more werewolf reader soon, with a piece (or multiple pieces, idk yet) called ‘The Convict Wolf’. Again I’m not the best at fluff so there is quite a bit of angst in there too as well as some humour. I think this turned more into a slight! Wanda x reader than an actual Wanda x reader. So… sorry bout that. Usage of Y/N as well. WARNINGS! ↳ angst (reader has insecurities/self esteem issues) — Tony being a bit of a dick — some minor language — some weird fluffy humour? — mentions of a “passed relative” in said humour — minor name calling and usage (“mutt and stray/pup”) — and I think that’s it?

────────────────────────
Mother Nature decrees that her law is absolute. Her will is to be respected, and all are intended to follow in her great design.
You do not change it. You embrace it.
And this applies to you as well, thanks to your common ancestor, that you shared the habit that left you tracking the red ball Tony kept bouncing against the polished floors like it’s the only thing in existence that mattered to you. And maybe because it did.
How could this happen? No high risk missions or deadly villains to stop from achieving world domination. No, today was one of those special days where you and your fellow Avengers could relax. And with the full moon so close, what better combination?
What you wouldn’t give to suddenly be on a quinjet flying into enemy territory. Nothing like a good fight to get the blood pumping.
For everyone’s sake, you tried to keep to yourself for the past week but you’d exhausted your options. Walks in the park weren’t cutting it - not to mention the other dogs started it first - and you’d already destroyed five punching bags in the gym just prior. The treadmill be damned, you weren’t burning any energy on that.
Your last resort was to sit in the common area with your favoured beverage, a cool rag and some TV to calm the intense wave of anxiety. However, by her divine intervention, your beloved crew had come to flock in.
Mother Nature knew you were a pack animal at heart, as both human and wolf. It was how she made you.
The ensuing anxiety of being in a crowded space enough to put you near over the edge. It’s not like your heart rate only picked up a few hundred beats more when Wanda walked in.
When a few of the new arrivals waved and greeted you, you shared a hesitant yet trying smile and equally reluctant nod in return.
The battlefield was the only place you felt comfortable around your new comrades. But without missions or villains you were still getting accustomed to life at the compound; adjusting to life around people.
You were still considered fresh. A new recruit to the team. As Tony liked to call you… a pup.
Fuck, how you’d bite back your snarls from that term.
Fury assigned you to the Avengers some months ago. And though you had no intention of staying long, the missions kept coming in and a lot more required your specific skill set.
You remember as though it was yesterday that Tony said, “Alright Fury, we’ll adopt the stray pup. Just don’t go ripping up the furniture now.”
Suffice to say, you broke your own record at doing just that in under 3 hours.
“I think they’ll settle in just fine,” Fury had chuckled with a clap to the billionaire’s shoulder.
You shake your head at the memory. Still, if felt wrong to feel certain things for one of your teammates already. It wasn’t like you felt you really had a chance with her anyway.
The thought made your eyes falter from the now still ball for a moment, clutched in Tony’s hand as if it were your heart.
‘Who am I kidding?’ You chuffed silently to yourself, ‘She wouldn’t take a chance on me, I’m a damn mutt!’
Your self esteem issues had to wait though.
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
‘Ball.’
‘Ball.’
‘Ball.’
Your entire head at this point tracked the ball’s movement, but your mind was still distracted by Wanda. The idea of her wanting to play ball with you, to spend those moments of intimacy with you. Tony’s words zeroed in from a muffled backdrop to the forefront of your mind.
“And that is why red indeed travels at a superior speed to any other. Ergo, why my suit is red, brilliant, eye catching and can beat anyone.”
You could hear the collective groans and disguised snarks beneath coughs without the noise being present. It was in everyone’s eyes and their scents.
Your eyes froze on Wanda, her striking eyes bore into yours with no hesitation. No fear.
‘How long has she been doing that?’
She offered one of her smiles that made your heart swell and stop at the same time, that made your searing skin cool and rise with goosebumps.
‘She’s so beautiful when she smiles like that.’
If she had one of those smiles then… you knew that grin that spread across her lips and showed a thin line of her teeth.
Your eyes gave away the betraying thought that you knew. Her smile turned grin riddled with mischief spoke volumes.
‘She read my damn mind!’
“I don’t think that is actually possible, Tony,” Sharon said with a click of her tongue and a disbelieving squint to her eyes.
“Oh no, it is,” Tony replied with a nod, “I’ll show you how the colour of this ball determines the speed in which it returns to my hand.”
He held up the ball in his hand, a proud display of its immaculate accomplishment, just a throw away.
Shit.
You bite down on your lip hard to suppress the whine coiled deep in your throat. A deep heat settled all along your neck and your ears.
Wanda still stared at you even in your peripheral.
Tony flicked his hand forward and the ball flew forward, bouncing once against the floor and bound into the wall with a determined thump before Tony caught it again, mouth agape to huff in his triumphant display in tandem with a curt yelp.
A good throw. Bad timing.
Everyone’s eyes had diverted to you. Their attention captured by the sound you made. Even Bucky, the stoic and reserved man who hardly acknowledged anyone with anything other than a grunt, appeared surprised if not the slightest bit intrigued by this new discovery.
You didn’t dare risk a second glimpse at Wanda, the flush in your neck seeped higher up into your face. Not that the shock and interest on everyone else’s faces were easier to process.
But you couldn’t face Wanda’s eyes now.
She had read the racing thoughts you couldn’t keep in line. Who knows how much she read about how alluring you think her scent is, how you whine and whimper whenever you hear her softly cry when in the privacy of her room because you wish to be there with her, her hand running through your fur to comfort herself; to let her know you’re there for her. How much it hurts you that she would never see you as nothing more than the mutt of the team. A beast that maims and runs rampart whenever you lose yourself to anger.
A lovesick pup.
You feared that the hot sting of tears was sure to follow any moment now.
Your fingers tightened against your legs, nails not longer the tamed length you maintained them as. In their stead were claws.
“Something wrong, pup?” Tony teased and you didn’t refrain from the rasped snarl that rose in your chest. Your teeth - and fangs - bared.
Fuck. Why did Mother Nature have to make you the way you are?
“Tony,” Sam warned, eyes cast between the two of you.
“What?” Tony only shrugged as if he wasn’t intentionally pissing you off and embarrassing you at the same time. “I just wanna make sure our new recruit here is alright, I mean, they have been temperamental over the past week. Chewing on expensive furniture and specially crafted improvements to my suit—“
The ball flew from Tony’s hand just as he was about to make a show of the ball again, the unmistakable red, misty tendrils swiftly brought it to Wanda’s hand.
Everyone was silent as they glanced between the red ball in Wanda’s hand and you. Their combining scents overwhelmed you to a new height. The fear that pinned you in place made the skin along your arms radiate with heat, either from the desire to run with your tail between your legs or to get defensive; to ‘wolf out’ as the others had called it. It didn’t help when Thor made an attempt to say something but otherwise thought better not to say what was on his mind.
Wanda eyed the object that held your attention. And you in turn couldn’t help but study her. Something in the way her eyes twinkled with curiosity, her lips pulled to one side as if to contemplate heavily on the fact that this ball held you in a vice grip.
Your short temper as of late, how you’d skulk around, much to the dismay of everyone fearing you had turned into another Bucky. The guy wasn’t that bad, you’d give him credit for that, the guy had a lot on his plate.
But what Wanda was perhaps most interested by that whenever she was present in the same room as you, all that would vanish. At least for the most part.
But to her, you would ask her how she was doing or even compliment her. Little did she possibly know that it was because you had felt a little courageous to take that small leap of faith to tell her she looked good.
But she might as well have that knowledge now.
You weren’t sure if it bothered you or not that she read your mind. Invaded your thoughts. In some weird way, you wanted her to. But you also feared her rejection.
But in the end, it all made sense. No one else pieced it together but her. And this time, she didn’t have to read your mind to do it.
She could read you. She knew you.
“It’s the full moon tomorrow night. They’re anxious.”
You were often lucky to avoid this topic with the others. They’d just chalked it up to catching you at the wrong time, that the mission was a hard one that day and you had some pent up anger to burn. The other half, you’d be out of the compound. Taking a much needed break at your apartment, visiting your sick grandma who they suspiciously noted you saying had passed away years ago three times now. But who was counting.
Never did they realise it all happened around the same time every month.
But Wanda did. She noticed it.
You brave to stare into those eyes you were content to drown in but find something else. It’s mysterious. Not what you’d expect to see in her eyes when she looked at you of all people.
“Y/N, Fetch!” Wanda cooed as she tossed the ball away from her. It’s a primal instinct that ignited within you at that very moment. A natural, engrained sense and desire.
How Mother Nature intended for you to react to survive or to have fun, your skin tingled with the sensation all too familiar.
The shift is over within the blink of an eye, seamless as you launch yourself over Wanda’s sitting body after the ball, large paw-like hands scrapped across the floors as you skid to a halt and the ball captured within the grasp of your maw.
Your tail wags involuntarily and your ears pinned against your head as you bashfully ducked your head at the sound of the others who chuckled and praised your reflexes.
It felt nice. Wanda turned in her spot on the couch to peer over at where you’d jumped over her, chin tucked into her folded arms.
“Nice catch,” she giggled and you swore she could see your blush in this form, “bring it here.”
Hesitant, you take a step forward and then another, your eyes cautious as they wandered over the others in case they deemed your advancements were dangerous to be left unchecked.
Rarely did you allow this form to take around them without the proper surveillance equipment and safety precautions. They already had Bruce to worry about losing control as the Hulk. They couldn’t risk you as well.
But no. They marvelled in their stares, smiles of contentment encouraged you to approach Wanda. You let the ball fall into her grasp with a small whine, ears still pressed back.
“Don’t be shy, Wolfie,” she whispered, the sound soft for only your ears to hear. You liked that nickname. You could only hope she would continue to use it.
Wanda raised the ball again only for Tony to interject. “No! No, you are not playing fetch in this compound, Miss Maximoff.”
Wanda smirked at the look in your eyes. The same one you had right before you tore up all the good, expensive furniture within that 3 hour window.
A few more throws turned into furniture shoved aside to make room. Tony remained in the kitchen, arms folded and a scowl etched hard into his face, it would take a miracle for Pepper to wipe it from his face.
Everyone else was too engrossed in the game of indoor fetch, all having had a couple of turns by now with throwing the ball. Bucky humoured you once and threw it, an approving nod when you caught it. Clint, Thor, Peter and Scott fought hard to get the ball numerous times, Natasha and Wanda were promoted to ‘ball-directors’ so everyone had a fair go.
But Wanda maybe got an extra throw in once or twice - by order of Natasha.
Steve now held the eye catching sphere in his hand, high above his head. Though with your stature in this form, it was rather tricky to keep it away from your snapping jaws.
You yipped and howled in anticipation before Steve tossed the ball and you leapt after it. You caught it before it could bounce off the wall. An eruption of claps and cheers followed immediately, your ears flopped back as you whine softly with that feeling that buzzed in your ribcage.
“Bring it here, Wolfie.” Your ears perked up high and alert at the soft tune of Wanda’s accented voice. A few of the others couldn’t refrain from laughing a little at the sight.
Whenever they had permitted you to shift on mission skirmishes, it was all done through protocol and extensive preparation to ensure you were stable.
And they only saw one emotion when you changed. Aggression.
To finally get the chance to play and be comfortable in your own fur felt good. Shit, well beyond good.
“I was promised the next throw! Come on, give the ball here, Y/N,” Sam called with an outstretched hand.
Even if Sam had a point, you couldn’t stop yourself in your approach towards Wanda, who now was crouched down with her hand out to receive the ball.
Her eyes were soft in their gaze as they pierced through the veil of your own. It was like she could see the humanity deep within you.
Her magic touched you differently, prickled against the shell of your mind, you welcomed her in.
‘I see you as more than you realise.’
A whimper crept up your throat in response, ears tucked back and eyes often shrouded with the thirst for carnage grew to relax. Become tender in the embrace of her eyes - her soul - touching yours.
Your fur bristled suddenly and you shook your head with a huff. You dropped the ball into her hand and she threw it down the long hallway.
You bound after it, your claws clinked against the tile floor, your breath hot in ragged pants as you gave chase. Each bounce of the ball echoed faintly in the back of your mind, too occupied by the words Wanda spoke through your mind.
It was the first time you’d heard her voice in your head. And you enjoyed it. It settled you into a sense of calm.
You didn’t register the elevator doors open ahead of you, Nick Fury stood with files tucked under his arm.
Your eyes shot open and you swore you saw his unpatched eye mimic yours. Your weight was too much to control with the momentum you had backed up behind your pursuit in a cramped hallway. You skid to a halt but slipped forward, the force of your body knocked Fury and yourself back into the elevator.
A series of cringed groans and gasps reminded you of your teammates as the elevator doors closed behind you.
You’d knocked Fury into the buttons and now, your destination was another floor.
Sheepishly, he could tell, you whine a pathetic sound in your apologies. You shuffle in the elevator that was almost too tight for the two of you to fit with you like this.
“So,” Fury said after a few moments of silence, eye intently watchful of the floors you both now visited. Some had agents give pause and a receptionist even dropped her cup of steaming coffee at the sight of you.
“What brought the wolf out?”
He turned his head slightly when you grunted, ball held up in your mouth to show him what had ensued before his arrival.
It felt like hours that the rest of the team stood in their places, eyes stuck on the elevator door you and Fury both disappeared into.
“Do you think he’ll be mad?” Wanda asked, voice coated in a toxic amount of unease.
She was scared what would happen to you. As a matter of fact; everyone was scared.
The government knew just enough and that was a hard - yet private - case that was not disclosed with the public.
Your existence and your species as a whole had to remain top secret. One slip up that was determined out of hand would grant you a one way ticket to who knows what for punishment.
“It’s okay, Wanda,” Clint assured, “I doubt Fury would do anything like that. I mean, he brought them to us.”
“He’s right. No way would Fury do something like that,” Steve added, firm in his judgement or perhaps what he hoped for.
“We will… figure it out if it comes to that,” Tony sighed from his place. Not often did Tony jump to your defence in cases such as this.
But in the end, you’d proven yourself mostly to be trustworthy.
He had some inkling of reason to believe you wouldn’t cause intentional harm to the team.
The elevator pinged and everyone held their breath as the doors slid open.
Fury and you stood side by side, gazes directed down the hallway towards your team. Your eyes immediately sought out Wanda who gave you a smile but her brows were furrowed.
Fury held up the ball as he strutted forward, like an obedient pup, you followed close to his heel.
“Next time, take the game of fetch outside,” he advised and threw the ball forward and Tony caught it swiftly.
Another good throw. Really bad timing.
You were still hyped up and because of that, you charged forward and closed the distance within a matter of milliseconds.
“Wait no—!” Tony grunted as he was pinned to the floor beneath your weight. “Get. Off!” He growled and you slinked away from him with your tail tucked.
The others did little to hide their laughs at Tony’s unfortunate expense.
“Good job,” you caught Bucky mutter to you as you joined Wanda’s side. You chuffed rather proudly and your head held high.
Steve aided Tony from the floor. “Alright, Fury. We’ll note that down.” Steve flashed a toothy smile and wink your way.
“I have a mission briefing. Ya’ll better buckle up and dress for the cold. You’re going on an undercover operation located in Alaska.”
“Alaska?” Wanda asked in sync with your curious head tilt, ears flopped to the side.
“Alaska. And you also have a guide present right now who is familiar with the territory.”
It didn’t take a second long for your team and yourself to gather what Fury meant, his single eye on you knowingly.
Fury left some time later after he handed the files over that provided more information on your new task in Alaska.
Wanda turned and knelt down in front of you, a hand ran through the thicket of your fur. The act itself made your eyes droop and your chest rumble. Wanda couldn’t keep the full, toothy smile to spread on her lips.
“I think this gives us all the perfect opportunity to play more fetch with our beloved wolf.” Wanda’s words didn’t go unnoticed by the numerous hums of agreement. Truly you felt seen by them all. For the first time perhaps ever, you felt accepted.
You even looked to Tony who shrugged with an eye roll. “I suppose I could indulge in a couple throws myself. So long as I can test my new theory of what travels faster: the wolf or the red ball?”
“Wolfie,” your team chimed in claim of their theory right there.
Your pack that Mother Nature intended for you.

The forgotten boy - Suguru Geto | Chapter 06
Tumblr media
words: 3k
summary: He made a deal with the devil, over 1,000 years ago. Just for the sake of his loved ones but the deal came with a condition. Everyone he met from that moment on, would forget about his existence within minutes, and will be like that for the rest of the eternity
Like that Geto Suguru lived for 1,000 years, being forgotten by everyone he met, not being remembered by anyone and being alone.
"You remember me?"
You nodded. “Of course I do.” You smiled. “You have been coming here for a few days now. Always at the same hour and always asking for the same coffee.”

Suguru leaned against the lamppost in front of the building, waiting for the familiar figure to come out and go to work. According to the schedule he had posted on his refrigerator, he had to go to work at eight, so he would leave the house early.
Not even close to 10 minutes passed when Suguru saw his “friend” come out of his building with a shotgun. Allowing another 10 minutes to pass, to make sure that Nanami would not return, Suguru entered the building with a smile and went up to the floor. Although he had told you that he had lost the keys it was a lie, obviously, but that apartment didn't need keys to enter either. That was why it had been so easy for him to settle in that place.
Suguru got rid of his clothes and got into the shower. Letting the water run over his body, he relaxed and felt peace settle into him. He didn’t know how long he was under the warm water, but Suguru didn't care, he let the falling water take away the worries from his body, take away that disturbing feeling he had felt in the subway. He let it go down the drain.
With the towel wrapped around his waist and his hair still wet, Suguru left the bathroom and headed to the kitchen. The sun shone clearly in the sky and it seemed to Suguru that everything had much more color, as if the gray tones that had been accompanying him for so long were being painted in bright colors. And he knew who was responsible behind it.
“Wow… so this is the place you now call home?” A voice that passed through Suguru's body filled the silence of the house.
Suguru turned around in horror to confirm the owner of that voice. “Kenjaku…”
“Don’t look at me like that Suguru.” A smile was drawn on his face. “Haven’t you missed me? It’s been, how long since the last time 50, 60 years?”
“80.” Suguru said with his eyes narrowed.
“Oh yeah! 80 years, you were in Scotland at that time, right?” Kenjaku approached the fruit bowl and picked up one of the apples. “Back then the world was a mess, although now… humans are still just as useless.” Juice with the apple.
“Kenjaku, what are you doing here.” He demanded to know Suguru, as he crossed his arms.
“Checking on you. Lately you seem happy.” A shiver ran through Suguru upon hearing Kenjaku's words and he felt like his heart skipped a beat. “Don’t worry Suguru I won’t do anything, I was just curious.” He laughed.
“Stay away from her.” Suguru murmured with his fists clenched and his gaze sharp.
“Oh… yeah I will stay away.” He smiled, biting the apple. “Don’t worry.” Kenjaku moved across the kitchen and smiled at Suguru again. “Anyway, my dear Suguru.” He patted his shoulder gently. "We will see each other again."
A gust of wind came through the window causing Suguru to close his eyes tightly and by the time he opened them again the figure of that person, if you could call it that way, was no longer there. Suguru let the air out of his lungs and rested his hands on the kitchen island, looking for a foothold. His eyes then focused on the rotten apple that Kenjaku had left there.
The knot he had in his stomach became bigger and Suguru felt himself trembling at that moment. He knew Kenjaku well enough to know that many times his words and promises were empty.
Taking the apple, he threw it in the trash and leaned against the cold wall of the apartment, with his eyes closed and thinking about that blurry memory.
—1,000 years ago
Suguru was exhausted, he didn't even know how many days they had been in that place. But it seemed that the curses and everything that was before them could not be defeated.
He rested his forehead on his hand and sighed looking at the map of the territory where they were. They were far from the capital Heian-kyō but if those curses continued to advance at the rate they did, they could reach the capital before winter arrived and that would be catastrophic.
At 6 years old he didn't want to believe the stories of his best friend's mother, but 20 years later there he was trying to find a way to stop those monsters.
It had been 10 years since Suguru, along with Satoru had left their hometown and joined the ranks of the emperor's army as cadets, hoping to one day occupy the highest positions. The first great honor came when they were both 21, after defeating a high ranked evil spirit, the two best friends were received with honor by the emperor and promoted in their rank.
After that the two continued to achieve success and now at 26, Suguru was general of one of the divisions. Suguru's division was near Fuji, in fact the soldiers could admire how the mountain rose in the distance with just stepping outside their tents. Meanwhile the division led by Satoru was located near the capital, in the Owari area.
Suguru punched one of the map figurines and tilted his head back, letting out a big sigh in the process. He was tired of fighting so much, he just wanted to return home once and for all.
“General Geto.” A young voice interrupted his thoughts.
Suguru fixed his gaze on the young boy that was standing in front of him, he probably wasn’t older than 18 years but Suguru could tell his determination was strong. “Yes?”
“That monk is here again.” Suguru sighed and touched his temple, trying to calm down the pain on his head. “He wants to talk with you.”
Suguru resentfully nodded. “Let him in.” The boy nodded and left the tent.
No more than 5 minutes passed when that person that Suguru had already met, entered. The atmosphere inside the tent changed drastically and Suguru felt the hair on his entire body stand on end. He didn't understand why he let him enter or talk to him, when that person's entire aura screamed danger.
“Hello general Geto.” The monk smiled at him and a shiver ran down Suguru's spine, that smile did not bring him any good feeling.
“You have been trying to see me for the last three weeks.” Suguru composed himself and tried to look as rough as possible, without showing an iota of weakness.
“Oh just, you know these curses are really strong and I think my help could be useful.”
Suguru shook his head. “Can a monk do anything against those curses, specifically against the king?” Suguru replied.
“General Geto, I am not a monk.” A smile appeared on his face. “I am a sorcerer and of course I can help you defeat them.”
Suguru bit his tongue, the idea sounded tempting but he didn't like that person. He knew there was something in his aura that worried him and he wanted him away from there as soon as possible.
“We don’t need your help.” Suguru sentenced and pointed to the exit for that person to leave.
The person laughed and stood up walking towards the exit. “My name is Kenjaku.” He smiled. “When you need me, General Geto just call me and we can make a deal.”
And in the blink of an eye the one who had called himself Kenjaku disappeared from Suguru's sight as if he had never been there. Suguru dropped into his chair and touched his chest, hoping that his heart was still there. He did not understand what that meeting had been, nor that gloomy aura that he had felt. But he just hoped it was the last time he would have to witness it.
—Present day
With his hand again on his chest Suguru checked if his heart was still there. It was.
Suguru leaned back and took a deep breath, feeling how his chest was squeezing him and not letting him breathe. He didn't trust Kenjaku or his intentions, for 1,000 years he had made him suffer and he knew it wasn't going to end.
Suguru was afraid, he was terrified. For the first time in a long time he had found something that made him happy, that made him feel alive and he wanted to continue exploring it but knowing that Kenjaku's threat could harm you... Suguru wanted to continue being happy like those few days, he wanted to continue going to your cafeteria and be welcomed with your smile. He knew his heart could be full thanks to you, you would fill it with your voice and your warmth.
Suguru clenched his fists and a growl came from the back of his throat, he needed to clear his head and in that apartment, which didn't belong to him, he couldn't do it. Changing his clothes and preparing a small bag with some changes, he left Nanami's apartment.
Suguru left the building and began to walk, aimlessly, only knowing that he needed to clear the storm of anguish and agony that had formed in his mind with Kenjaku's appearance before him.
On the other side of the city, you moved behind the bar, preparing coffees and whatever they asked for non-stop. Apparently all the customers had decided to come to the cafeteria at the same time. You and Yuji had not been able to take a single break since you had opened the cafeteria that day and your legs were already feeling the pain.
“Hello!” A singing voice made you look up.
You smiled when you saw who it was, despite wearing her dark glasses and her mouth mask, you could identify your best friend anywhere. “Hime!” You greeted with a smile.
“How are you?” She asked.
“Pretty busy as you can see.” You looked around. “I don’t know why we have so many customers here today.”
“Yeah…” She laughed. “That might be my fault.”
You looked at her confused. “What did you do?”
“I posted a picture with one of your cups and…” She looked around and then at you shrugging her shoulder.
“I can’t believe you.” You sighed. “I mean thanks but isn't it a bit risky to come here?”
“Yeah but I wanted to see how you were handling things.”
“I’m a bit tired but… it’s okay.” You smiled.
“Tomorrow it’s your free day, right?” Utahime took your hand. “Let me invite you to a spa or something.”
“I can’t.” Utahime tilted her head confused. “I have a date.” You smiled shyly.
“What?!” She gasped with a loud scream.
Everyone on the place turned to look at both of you and it that moment you realize how fucked Utahime was, because it was clear that some people recognize her.
“Shit…” She whispered.
“Yeah…” You took her hand and guide her to the back where only employees could enter.
People began to crowd around with their cell phones taking photos of Utahime and shouting her name. Sometimes you wondered how your friend could endure all that, how she didn't get dizzy with the flashes and the screams of all the people.
“I’m so sorry y/n…” She said, taking off her glasses and mask.
“It’s okay, after all you are a superstar.” You smiled, not giving much importance to the matter.
“Still…” She sighed and sat down on a chair.
“Hime, don’t give yourself a hard time for this, it’s okay…”
Utahime nodded and then smiled. “Now tell me about your date.”
“Oh…” You chuckled feeling your cheeks burn. “Well, he is a customer that usually comes here.” Utahime was paying full attention to your words, with her gaze being completely focused on you. “We… well we actually went to eat lunch a few days ago and tomorrow we will be meeting again.” You played with your hands.
Utahime had her mouth completely opened, processing your words. “How come you didn’t tell me anything?”
“I don’t know, a lot of things happened.” You pursed your lips remembering what happened yesterday.
“Shoko told me.” Utahime said. “Those ugly bastards don’t know anything about art.”
“They are from an art gallery…”
“Still, they are tasteless. Your paintings are amazing, breathtaking, god they deserve to be exposed in the best museums.” Utahime said angrily. “You know that I can take them down, right?”
Of course you knew how powerful Utahime was and how her words were able to make others fall. “I know, but there is no need.” You sat on the chair. “I just need to become better… that’s it.” You sadly smiled.
“Y/n…” Utahime murmured.
“You know.” You stood up. “I should go out there, poor Yuji is all on his own.”
“Yeah, yeah.” She nodded. “I’m sorry for all that.” She pointed to the outside.
You shook your head. “Now maybe we’ll get more tips.” You joked. “You already know where the emergency exit is, right?” Utahime nodded. “Well, then I'll see you soon?”
"Probably." Utahime stood up. “I have some pending matters and I am starting to prepare the next album but we can meet.” She smiled. “Because I'm going to need to know more about that date of yours.”
“I know the three of you will give me a hard time.” You joked.
“Yuki is also seeing someone so, me and Shoko, we will be giving both of you a hard time.” She joked back. “Take care.” She hugged.
“You too Hime.” You waved goodbye at her and went back to work.
The place was so crowded and Yuji behind the counter seemed to be trying to make everything the best he could. You quickly started serving and attending the new customers, most of them were looking for Utahime or were there because of her post and asking for the same coffee as her.
Once the last customer was served, you looked at Yuji and sighed in relief.
“Y/n…” Yuji spoke and you hummed in response. “You know Utahime?!” He said out loud.
“Yuji! Lower your voice.” You said, noticing how the eyes of the customers were on you.
“Sorry… but for real, you know her?”
You nodded and Yuji gasped in response. “We went to high school together and she is one of my closest friends.” Yuji had his mouth opened. “Why are you so shocked?”
“It’s just… that wow, you know more famous people?” He asked and you shook your head. “Oh…”
“Why? Do you have a favorite celebrity or something?” You tilted your head scanning his face.
“Yes!” He smiled wildly. “I love Megan Thee Stallion.” You opened your mouth in surprise.
“I don’t know if she knows Megan personally, I could ask her and maybe get you something.” Yuji looked at you with his eyes wide open.
“You would?” You nodded. “Oh! I love you so much y/n.”
You giggled and shook your head. “I can’t promise you much but I will do what I can.” Yuji nodded enthusiastically and turned to keep working.
You did the same and with your mind set on work, your workday passed in a flash. You said goodbye to Yuji at the train station and like every day you stood near one of the large windows so you could see the views of the dazzling city.
Without being able to help it, your mind wandered to Suguru and the date you would both share tomorrow. Covering your smile with your hand, you left the station and began walking towards home. The atmosphere was pleasant, the trees were beginning to bloom and the days were slowly beginning to get longer, which filled your heart with immense warmth.
“Y/n?” You turned around to look at the person calling out your name.
When you turned completely you ran into a man you didn't know, he was about 40 years old and was wearing elegant clothes.
“Excuse me, you called me?” You said doubtfully and with the alarms set.
The man smiled, a smile that made your skin crawl. “Yes, but I just wanted to see your face more clearly. 10 freckles huh?”
After saying that, the man turned on his heel and began to cross the street. When you wanted to get a better look at him, he had already disappeared. You hadn't noticed how your breathing had become labored and you had to hold on to breathe properly again.
Who was that man? And why and how did he know your name? Turning on your heels you ran to your apartment and when you got there you closed the door with all the possible bolts.
Your entire body was trembling, that smile and look had left you completely paralyzed.
Blue approached you and began to give you affection, you smiled when you saw your cat and took her in your arms, feeling the warmth of your animal against you. You stayed on the ground hugging Blue for a long time, it wasn't until Blue started meowing for food that you had the strength to get up.
That disturbing feeling was still in your body and it seemed like it didn't want to go away.
You wanted to get up tomorrow and see Suguru. As crazy as it seemed, he gave you an unimaginable security and you wish that he was with you at that precise moment to calm you down like he did after you had that nightmare.
Dragging your feet as if you were carrying something heavy attached to your feet, you sat on your couch and picked up your sketchbook. You began to draw, first Blue, then the landscape that you could see from your window, then Suguru and then you began to draw the nightmare and finally the face of that man.
With another shiver running through your body from your feet to the last hair of your hair, you slammed the notebook shut and closed your eyes, trying to forget that image and sensation.
You laid down on your stomach and tried to sleep and prayed for that man not to appear in your dreams.

hey i was wondering. Is everyone in your toy chest au the same as their cannon counterparts or do your au versins have difirent personalities then their cannon counterpart? Like jax being mischivious and playfull or kinger speaking in a kingly tone. (Ps. How is your day?)
My day has been nice and relaxing, thank you for asking!
The main difference in the cast's personalities is that they're all a little more formal and polite. In keeping with the theme of an old timey storybook. For example, toy Pomni didn't attempt to swear up a storm to test the censor filter lol. (The filter still exists tho.)
Jax is like a Cheshire cat figure as he's more cryptic and mysterious here, but he's still a sarcastic prankster jerk. Kinger is more like a once wise man that went kinda loopy over time. He's a more likely to ramble nonsense and less inclined to just.. scream randomly. But for the most part they're all pretty similar to the originals, just a little bit softer and more whimsical sounding.
The only one who's majorly different here is Pomni. For the sake of the AU she's a lot more naive and willing to go along with things, at least at first.
Tumblr media
Pomni in the actual pilot was terrified and trying to escape from the get-go. But I felt it'd be more suspenseful and good for the unsettling tone of the story if the feeling of dread was more gradual. Like, this place is cute and colorful! She's having a fun time at first! But something is just a little bit off. And it takes toy Pomni a little while as she pieces together that all of these other toys used to be human just like her.. and they've been trapped here for years. And THEN the de-personalization sinks in as she realizes on her own that she's trapped here. She meets the others properly after realizing this, and they can explain the situation entirely. That she may never be human again. That she'll have to get used to this new body that feels so fake. She walked right into the trap like a fool, and now she'll literally be a fool forever.
..i made myself sad whoops lol
