These are some of my favorite finds, fossilized buffalo bones and teeth, gastropod and my first complete bivalve. I found a bunch of shark teeth but they are all small. The ocean wasn't deep in central to North Texas.

Bone artifacts discovered in Tanzania push back the earliest known date of bone tool technology by over a million years. In Olduvai Gorge, archaeologists have discovered a range of bone tools thought to have been made and used by an ancestral human species of hominid called Homo habilis 1.5 million years ago. Known as the Oldowan people, the culture responsible for the bone artifacts was already known for their use of stone tools dating back to 2.5 million years ago. The newly identified bone artifacts show that their tool technology was more complex, advanced, and sophisticated than we knew.

Fossil shark vertebrae like this are highly sought after due to their rarity and scientific value. Unlike bony fish, sharks have cartilaginous skeletons, making their fossilized remains less common. However, phosphate deposits such as those in Morocco provide excellent conditions for preservation, allowing us to study these ancient marine predators in detail.
This shark vertebra is a fascinating piece of natural history and an excellent addition to any fossil collection, educational display, or scientific study. It also makes a fantastic gift for fossil enthusiasts, marine biology lovers, and collectors of prehistoric remains.

Oh hey,
I bet the professor didn't even consider that his sentient AI invention would be capable of complex feelings such as grief.

[Posting both versions because I'm indecisive]
#splatoon#splatoon 2#octo expansion#commander tartar#the professor#my art :o]#professor plz come pick up your mechanical son he is in dire need of companionship & affirmation#I wonder if remains of the professor actually exist in canon.. [probably not his bones but perhaps objects like glasses or his lab coat!]#... maybe the human fossil with the Wii U is the professor lmao jk.. would be funny though#omg imagine the fossil of the professor is being displayed in a museum.. if tartar would find out he'd steal him back#anyways I wanted to draw something rather sentimental this time [and then ruin the vibe in the tags oops]
