The Development of Durgetash

Sorry this is really long but the implications of Durge and Gortash's relationship are just too fun not to think or write about.

I think an important thing to understand about Enver and Durge’s relationship and the way in which it would develop, is that they are both inherently lonely people. One killed any person who gave them warmth and love (whether they had any real say in the matter or not), and the other was someone who as been abandoned and betrayed repeatedly by people they trusted. Either way, Durge has only been able to experience the warmth of another through violence, and Enver has only ever been able to put trust in things of metal and gears.

They could not make a real human connection, and as sad as it is at the very least the Durge had a family who had once cared about them, however, Bhaal made it very clear that they would never have that all outside of what he could offer, and if they were to search for it outside of Bhaal or even stumble upon it, all it could ever end in is blood. Enver on the other hand had no foundation of trust with anyone from the beginning, his parents sold him. Then the entry of his youth was spent being abused, beat into submission. Where his developing mind could only ever come to one conclusion, you are only safe at the top, only safe when you are the person who can hand out all of the damage. While it doesn’t excuse anything either of them did, it does give you a way as to how they can internally justify all of their horrible actions.

But then apply all that to how the beginning of their partnership began, both probably intending to manipulate and betray each other at some point, at least in the very beginning. Then what is probably the most terrifying thing happens to both of them, they realize they care. Dare I say I think it takes them both a long time to realize this, both desperately telling themselves that “this was just a part of the plan” in an attempt to distract what has happened.

The one thing I am sure they had both promised themselves they would never do again. I do think Enver had an easier time coming to terms with this, especially after Bane also seems to take a liking to Durge. But there was most likely some catalase in which Durge had an amazing opportunity to kill or betray Enver and yet stubbornly stays by his side. However, Durge lives in constant terror. When will the urge take control, when will Bhaal demand Gortash’s head as a sacrifice? Why does every thought they have that lingers a little too long on Enver turn into a design of his death, and why has this begun to bug them. They had thought they had finally desensitized themselves to this, and yet here they were with this weight in their heart that made it hard to breathe. They haven’t experienced terror like this since the urges first started. And I think, unlike Enver, this fear never goes away. It’s obvious because of the letter but I think they learn how to manage it.

Once they get past that, this is where their friendship really blooms. Two evil nerds, geeking out all the time. Gortash can go on for hours, days, months about his inventions, and there is Durge who hasn’t had a conversation verging this close to normal in so long that they just sit there, happy. Asking questions, and seeing how smart Durge is canon-wise, most likely offer suggestions and theorizing how certain mechanics work. Then there is Durge who has had to turn violence into a craft for survival and likely some form of sanity. Who can probably go on for just as long about anatomy, decay, how every weapon, acid, fire, and anything of the like affects the flesh.

Then somewhere along the line, where they worked together out of convenience, they are now the other persons go to for anything. They are asking each other for advice in contexts where it doesn’t necessarily make sense. And there scheming turns into just conversations of the future. They don’t even notice how casual they have gotten with one another until I’m sure Orin or Sceletius points it out to Durge.

If we apply all this to Durgtash, it does make their prospective relationship the most grueling slowburn anyone as ever seen, in theory.

I don’t think either of them notice at first their feeling for one another. I think they are both pretty emotionally constipated. However, I think Gortash realizes first, I think he distrusts not only everyone around him but also his own feelings to realize something is off. Where as Durge (this I guess depends on how you characterize your own personal durge, but for now I’m talking about og and my own Durge.) I believe has numbed themselves so emotionally it is not going to hit them. Or at least not until Enver suggests something stupid and they fight. Durge has a knife to Enver’s throat (which I don’t imagine is a rare event) and for once they aren’t immediately consumed of thoughts of spilling his blood right there. No, the knife is there to stop Enver from doing something stupid, because Durge is WORRIED. The realization hits like a brick, and Durge in way out of character backs off and leaves. Hoping to stuff the realization back in the box where it could be stored in the back of their mind, but it’s too late. Now all they can think about is how Bhaal will torture them both by having them kill Enver.

This obviously leads to tension, so much tension, that neither of them will address or acknowledge. Both are worried about offending their gods, and at the end of the day, this is the first person either of them have been able to truly care about in who knows how long. Not only could they ruin that, but also the plan that they have been working away at for presumably years now.

I think it only builds of course, the closer they get the more small touches they exchange. Never too close though, never too many. Just enough for minds to slip to other places, only for a second. Though they would never actually… right? They get drunk together just to have a reason, have an excuse for certain behaviors, never taking it too far but minds always wonder.

I honestly don’t think anything would happen for a long while, not until some catalyst. Whether it be a bad injury or a victory, adrenaline takes over, and they kiss. Heat of the moment they will tell themselves and each other. However, the Pandora's box is open now. I think it still takes them a moment to break, anywhere from a day to a week, both too horribly stubborn for their own good. Until the conversation lulls to a stop, and the tension alone at this point would turn anyone mad, and the delusions they have been trying to sell themselves finally snap. No one knows who kissed the other first, who first started ripping at clothes, at this point who cares. It is a passion with teeth and claws, there is blood on their teeth and under their nails. In that moment all their sins mix, gluttony, greed, pride, and lust as they almost try to consume one another, like they are trying to meddle together. As if metal and flesh could ever truly mix.

And I think for a time after, these two horrible messed up people find peace in one another, maybe even true happiness as their plans come to fruition. Enver Gortash, a man who breathed life into metal gave it a heart, and Durge, the person who left cold bodies in their wake by taking last breaths and heartbeats.

They were going to rule the world together, and then Orin happened.

I really hope this doesn't come across as rude so if it is feel free to ignore this ask but I am curious.

I do a lot of work with makeup (just as a hobby) and I've actually gotten quite good at it, but the thing is I'm Irish so I'm pale af as are my family, and I've been wanting to try makeup for darker skin but tbh I have no idea how to do it or what the differences are (if they exist). Can I ask what your routine for doing makeup is?

not a rude question at all, i love makeup very much so this is a fun question tbh!

okay so a lot of people have different undertones/shades. it is something they didn’t know back in the day and it’s why a lotta celebs look kinda ashy/very pale.

ex:

then some ppl with darker complexions have a harder time matching a good foundation to their skin bc some brands don’t make foundation/makeup for their tones.

so i suggest color correctors. for example if a clients foundation is too yellow (which it is for many people w an olive undertone), then use a bit of blue to cancel it out.

some shades are too warm for darker skinned people and need to be neutralized. i used to think warmer foundations looked good on my until i used a bit of color correction and i got my perfect shade. And unfortunately it is liie that for a lot of girls w darker complexions.

Anothing thing is color correcting dark spots/undereyes. some ppl (aka younger me) think that using a ton of light concealer will fix hyperpigmentation/dark spots. WRONG!!!! it will just look really fucking ashy and gray. you gotta cancel it out with a peachy corrector. vid example

if u wanna use a concealer to cover spots, i suggest the nars soft matte pot concealer, but you gotta have an amazing shade match for it to look good. maybe not ideal for clients unless u get every shade and shadematch them on the spot. vid example

my absolute fav brand will forever be nars. they have amazing foundations, concealers and blushes. my fav products are: NARS light reflecting foundation and the NARS soft matte pot concealer, literally gives skin and feels so light on the skin. it’s like ur not even wesring anything even though u get a full coverage.

and i just wanna include some of my fav products 💗💗:

fav moisturizer: Embryolisse/ Weleda skin food

fav color correctors: the elf ones, they have every color u need

fav setting spray: charlotte tilbury, urban decay all nighter, both the glow and the regular matte one.

fav concealer: hourglass, nars and too faced born this way

fav blush: nars, hourglass and saie

fav setting powder: nothing beats the huda beauty one. literally nothing. huda powder plus too faced born this way concealer is a godly combo.

fav mascara: maybelline sky high or the telescopic one or the essence ones

fav bronzer: fenty/caia (amazing for darker skintones)

fav lip product: mac lip liner and fenty gloss💗 (some darker complexes need darker lipliners. try darkbrown or the shade chestnut)

1. Kendrick Lamar

Well clearly a lot happened with Kung Fu Kenny on May lol. 🥹😅♥️

His beef (and victory) with Drake was just a reminder of how amazing this man truly is. The Pulitzer prize winning rapper did enough this month for me to put him as my number one favorite artist, over Black Veil Brides. 😭💖💖

I replayed the hell out of "Euphoria" and of course "Not Like Us" ("Meet The Grahams" was too much for me so not that one but yeah followed the beef very closely 😭😭), and also listened to Good Kid, m.A.A.d City and Section.80 again... Ahhhh love him ♥️♥️♥️

2. A Skylit Drive

This is one of those bands I've always loved the sound of but never followed too closely? But this month I heard ASD after years of not hearing a song from it, and well wasn't disappointed one bit 😁♥️💕

Also listened to their classic Wires... And The Concept of Breathing album again, post hardcore masterpiece there 😭💖💖

3. BTS

Oh look @casetotu it's them again! Lol ♥️

This month I listened to Love Yourself: Answer, finally listening to that trilogy completely 😭💕💕

Then of course I went and listened to some other songs I hadn't heard before, and wow they really never miss 🥹💖💖💖

4. Kate Nash

I ignored her music for soooo long, for no real reason, but wow now I love her ♥️♥️

Listened to Made of Bricks, and Yesterday Was Forever for a second time. Oh yeah and replayed "Life In Pink" to death. 😀♥️♥️

On her Wikipedia page they said for some reason that her music "appeals to lesbians" and I felt a little called out based on how sapphic I tend to be 😂😭🏳️‍🌈💖

5. Bad Religion / My Chemical Romance (they tied 😗)

The first tie in my top 5 :o

I added them both cause it's only fair lol, loved them both equally this month ig 😭♥️💕

For Bad Religion, well I listened to many of their previous bangers, like "Infected", "Punk Rock Song" and "Fuck You", and also listened to their last album Age of Unreason 😁

As for MCR... Listened to The Black Parade again, and even ended up liking it more than before (went from an 8.5/10 to a 9.0/10 for me lol 💖). And of course, besides that, kept listening to many of their other classics, like "Cubicles", "It's Not a Fashion Statement, It's a Deathwish" and "Drowning Lessons", as well as of course "The Foundations of Decay" 😭😭♥️💕💕

It's impossible to pick just one, but I'd say Summertime and Foundations of Decay by MCR, Don't Try by Gerard Way, and Black Me Out and True Trans Soul Rebel by Against Me! are all really comforting when I'm feeling down. And in terms of just putting a big stupid grin on my face regardless of my mood, I have to mention Kill All Your Friends by MCR and I'm Not a Cop by Laura Jane Grace. (yes I know I listed like twelve songs and only two different singers - Gerard Way and Laura Jane Grace make great music, sue me)

10. what's something you're excited for?

I'm gonna keep the music theme going and say I'm super excited to see the Crane Wives next month! I saw them last year and they were absolutely incredible. I'm a little sad that it's going to be a bigger venue this time - last year it was in this tiny little club, and I was about a foot away from the stage. I could have smacked that guitar right out of Emily's hands if I wanted to. (which I didn't, because they were amazing)

23. favorite piece of clothing?

I have a fleece-lined maroon corduroy jacket that I absolutely love to death! It's covered in enamel pins - mostly for MCR and the Crane Wives, though I'm debating getting an Against Me! pin, too

I also love my big platform over-the-knee leather boots. I don't have a good photo of them, but they honestly look remarkably like these ones that Gerard Way wore during the last tour (which is not why I bought them, but was definitely a contributing factor):

P.2. SWARM FOR THE VAMPIRES

There are many connections between these themes as well, but let’s take it step by step, going one reference at the time.

So, the first theme is vampires. These creatures were there from the very beginning of MCR up until today, so let’s start with them and how they are related to what happenened on tour. 

Two biggest references:

- “Interview with the Vampire” - Gerard read the very first paragraph from this book at one of the shows and mentioned it at least twice.

- Dracula - outfit at LA show - is a reference to a famous novel by Bram Stoker and also a movie starring Bela Lugosi. 

Below you can see a bunch of scenes that we can see in MCR promo materials or related somehow to what Gerard said or did on tour.

  Interview with the Vampire

Fun fact: the book has 25 mentions of rats and uses the words: “swarm” - 4 times, "decay” - 7 times, "plague” - 9 times and "insects” - 8 times - all these words are related to The Foundations Of Decay lyrics and all references Gerard did on tour.

Also, this book has a reference to song Emily from Living With Ghosts edition. There’s a story about the married couple who came from Engalnd to Varna during their trip, and a woman named Emily was already killed by the local vampire and her husband Miorgan mourned when Louis and Claduia arrived. He wanted her back safe and sound. And here’s the lyrics of the song:

Coincidence? Maybe, but wait for it. 

In the movie we can find the fallen pillars and statues of angels, which we can see on the tour posters.

Also, vampires are called “the plague” in the book and it sends us to TFOD lyrics in the breakdown - “we are all plagued”. Also just think about how vampires are immune to different types of diseases and can be killed only by dividing their bodies into parts. Which means that they can keep rising from the dead as long as their bodies are intact. We have a couple of men “risen from the dead” figuratively at this very moment and they play amazing shows :)) They’re kinda modern vampires who keep spreading the plague of immortality. Oh how wrong we were to think that immortality meant never dying.....

Dracula

The movie starts with the music theme from Black Swan - a reference to the possible Swan outfit in Boston & the drumhead from Denver – The Swan Variation. 

The Swan Variation tells us a story about pretending to be another person to achieve what you want. Vampires have the same narrative - they’re mostly pretending to be regular humans to live a regular life - except for the part where they must kill people or animals and suck blood to survive. By the way, do you remember the “Mosquito” drum from Bologna? See the connection: bug summoning: bug = insects = mosquito who sucks blood = vampires who suck blood. Bug summoning = vampires summoning. The Boy in A Summoning video literally summoned a bunch of vampires :))

Let’s go back to Dracula. 

Man eating bugs, to obtain the blood, wanting to live forever. Swarm and flies are the main symbols of the tour. So are the swarm there to give the band that “blood” to help them live forever?

Not only “Black swan” and Dracula outfits refer to this movie. Also the nurse one too. And psst, we can find one interesting nurse in Watchmen, make sure you read that post too :)

Also the rats again.

Remember the dead rat sign from the stage? Full meaning of that sign you can find in my (Ana’s) very first theory here: https://xburyxmexinxblackx.tumblr.com/post/685876358452314112/when-the-system-falls-the-story-continues (ignore the fact that this theory is not relevant anymore in general sense since we have new TFOD lyrics, but the sign story is still pretty clear). 

So, what about the rats now that we have more hints? The EXTERMINATOR inscriprion sends us to W. Burroughs short story of the same title. The story is about an insect exterminator, a job Burroughs himself once held. So we can see the connection between vampires exterminating rats to survive without killing people. 

One more thing (and we need to get back to the already mentioned lyrics of TFOD.

Vampires can’t live in the sun rays, so they hide in coffins until the night comes. But they can hear the swarm call them. If we accept the fact that the fans are the swarm, then the band has heard us all this time before the reunion. 

Also, we know that Gerard and Frank once said “we’re not vampires”. And they didn’t lie. Because they were bats. Bats were a symbol of the band from the very early years. The first copies of “Like Phantoms, Forever” were marked with a bat stamp. But they grew up, evolved and became vampires. 

Every joke has some truth.

So, conclusion #1: the tour is about the fans who waited for the band to come back all these years.

See, the thing is: Crowley is tall. His height had caused a few stares back in the days where the tallest man stood at five foot five. And, because of his height, one might be inclined to describe him as slender with spindly fingers and snake-hips. The pun is never intended on that last one but it stands true nonetheless. And Crowley would be likely to agree with these statements: he is tall and slender and spindly and snake-hipped.

But what Crowley would be less likely to agree upon is the statement that he, Anthony J Crowley, is underweight.

Crowley could be a rising star at Brimstone Chambers, if he could control his temper and apply himself. Aziraphale is on the edge of losing not only his job, but his entire family over a disagreement over which organisations he has granted funds to through his beloved Miracle Foundation, the philanthropic arm of his his family's angel investment firm. Anathema tries to help her old friend out by introducing him to the only lawyer she knows who might be crazy enough to take on the might of Celeste & Sons.

Two people with different ways of dealing with their issues strike up an unlikely friendship, leading to love and healing. Lots of bickering, bookshop silliness, boozing, bentley rides, shared desserts and blushing.

so since @bitchthemed tagged me on her post i guess im coming back from my hiatus for a sec to list my six albums ive been listening to a lot lately. ive allowed myself to only list one album from each performer as to not embarrass myself too gravely. hdsbhds. still embarrassing myself here because i dont have that much of a diverse or interesting taste

1. Because the Internet by Childish Gambino

(sorry that the gif is so small compared to the other album covers btw. i just wanted it to be a gif and this one is of a satisfying quality) literally listened to it when i saw the email notif. what a great album istg. its really interesting musically, it has a particular plotline (that i sadly havent payed that much attention to that but im planning on focusing more on that in the meantime) and a lot of lore behind it and im so excited to dig into it. its really interesting considering Glover's acting / directing history (actually, interestingly enough, i started getting more interested in him as a musician only after watching Community, where he played). one of my friends got that cd as a birthday gift and since then i kinda went back to listen to this album more. its really, really interesting, both musically and lyrically. one of my favourite albums in general (although that will be a trend here. i keep on relistening to my fav albums these days)

2. Folié a deux by Fall Out Boy

i wore my folie a deux tshirt two days ago so i really really had to listen to it. it was my fav fob album back in middle school and man it still holds. makes me feel very. free and maybe angry but in that joyous way. more. energetic rather than angry i guess. it both reminds me of a particular time in my life and just sounds amazing. ive read a tumblr post abt it so im not gonna ask the question of why was it badly received back in its time but yeah i cant help but disagree with past fob fans. its. probably still my fav album of their? although its hard to decide. infinity on high and from under the cork tree are both similarly close to me (with a slight leaning to infinitys direction) and both could probably be on this list as well if not for my selecting choices

3. I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love by My Chemical Romance

sigh. is anyone surprised that mcr is here. i liked them for some time now (started during the first pandemic i think?) but since foundations of decay got released and they toured and their concert in my country was getting closer i started REALLY getting into them. like downright obssessing. bullets was the hardest to like as a newbie but over time it really really grew on me and ive come to appreciate it a lot. things that felt a bit too rough to me before have uncovered their beauty before me and the roughness feels appropriate considering the subject matter. it also has a couple of songs that feel really appropriate considering the teenage angst im going through these days. sidenote: other mcr albums that couldve been here are three cheers for sweet revenge and the black parade. man. beloved

4. Razzmatazz by I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

what a truly original sound. idkhow captured me by the. weirdness? the quirkiness of its topic, and as i was joyously singing along to songs about murderviolence and whatnot i was subtly dosed with an unimaginable amount of softness hiding beneath. truly a heartwrenching experience. its still a joyous listen and 80s (? im guessing. im not a musical genius, sadly.) vibes are. yesss

5. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out by Panic! At The Disco

yes i know panic just below idkhow is a pretty ironic choice. but we're not talking abt brendons endeavors here. that album is so beloved to me. i really like the. uhh. victorian aesthetic of it? sorry i have little to no idea what im talking about. i do like the aura it builds, a vibe. lyrically its a feast, i wish i could wield words like Ryan does. i used to hold a feeling of guilt related to this album (and mcrs three cheers for sweet revenge) because it reminded me of a person i hurt. i dont really feel that way anymore and i only feel excitement when i listen to it now. what an album!!!

6. Born To Die (The Paradise Edition) by Lana del Rey

so this one is a bit of a reach because i havent been listening to it that much that recently but i kinda mostly. listen to my biggest playlist on loop and also i didnt want it to just have fall out boy and my chemical romances discography in random order. anyways, i have a soft spot for this album. it reminds me of my childhood (oof thats a sentence) not because i relate to the experiences that much but rather because i listened to it a lot when i was like. twelve? thirteen? before you call social services, english isnt my first language and i didnt really. get that deep below the surface. i was just. noises nice d-_-b. anyways. yes yes i know problematic romanticising whatever. i like its main character okay? sometimes you just listen to a girl that is Unwell and you nod and say "so true bestie" despite not relating at all. say whatever you want about lana but this album is a vibe and it stays dedicated to it

Since I’ve shared much of my Starset concert, I’d love to share my experience with this amazing MCR concert I went to back in September! This video showcases the opening song - their newest banger of a song, Foundations of Decay, and a quick follow-up song of Boy Division! The other two talented bands that played before MCR were amazing, too!

The concert itself was in an arena, and we were on the balcony above with a pretty good view! I had to zoom in the video, which caused the pixilation, so I’m sorry for that! It’s like an early 2000s video recording! xD

Halfway through nearing the end of FoD, I was SHAKING. Gerard’s rawrs were so f*cking cool to listen to live, SERIOUSLY, go listen at the 3:54 mark (3:17 remaining)! I don’t know why, this same sort of thing happened at the Starset concert too, where when they’re able to screamo roar, it makes the whole thing a thousand times better and I got shakey with pure hype! It’s no wonder people pass out LOL.

All in all, the songs showcased throughout the entire event were perfect choices. Every classic you can think of was there, and I’ll try and get the rest uploaded whenever I’m able to! Also, to be able to share this with someone so special in my life, I’ll never forget it. Cross another one of my favorite bands from the bucket list, I definitely want to try and see Paramore next if I can. (⁄ ⁄-⁄ ∀ ⁄-⁄ ⁄)ฅ

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OKAY OKAY I LIKE THIS ONE AND HOPE NO ONE HATES ME FOR MY ORDER BUT

1. revenge (obviously i mean look at me i am drenched in black and red at all times and gerards hair was just so nice) specific parts include flour face gerard and that photoshoot with the blood covering his hand in a building with brick walls and arches it looked like a church basement and the vampire one for kerrang where its a girls back and theyre covered in blood and hes biting her neck hehe, reasoning for it being my favorite is it has only one song i skip (ghost of you) and every other has a lot more that i usually do and just how theatric and dramatic but also edgy everything was, tbp is more theatric BUT theres more Hope vibes and this is that but with despair and blood and guns and coffins and that just appeals to me fundamentally way more especially when im in my bag. it probably has my most favorite songs too, like to the end cemetery drive jetset life and HANG EM HIGH OR MOTHERFUCKING DIE. maybe my favorite mcr song but im not thinking too hard when i say that

2. bullets, its just so suburban i feel like I'm back in Jersey its October and im walking past cul de sacs and the sunset is bright fucking orange its fantastic its art in every sense and its full of sorrow bc its the closest album chronologically to 9/11 and gerard had the least sureness in the future but he was so confident and it just bleeds into everything so hard, my favorite moments in life are majorly moments similar to what i described. wearing a hoodie and jeans and converse and observing the way the streetlights color the concrete and asphalt, especially if theres been rain. chinese food from family restaurants and rolling rock beer and sitting at neighborhood playgrounds on the swingset rocking back and forth with the carbonation buzzing in your brain. favorite moments include the pic of frank and gerard smoking on pool chairs and that pic of them in some grandmas house with wooden walls and a china and tchotchke cabinet and lace curtains and im pretty sure mikeys sitting on the leg of a couch.it was my desktop bg for a year or two.

3. black parade; i really appreciate the death topic and i will admit i struggle to get on the Hope wavelength throughout esp in famous last words ykno the keep on living part but there are some of my favorite fucking demos like emily and all the angels and im Pretty surE desert song but smack my ass and call me a moron if its wrong. i will say visually other than the marching band outfits its the least interesting era, the white hair was just kinda there to me and no one else had anything outstandingly russling my jimmies. frank did have some cute hair curls on his bangs tho sometimes. i do rlly like the whole haunted vibe tho bc of the paramounts effect on them tho, when i notice it in songs and lyrics it is pretty effective in makin my spine straighten with the hollow eyed, sleepless and frankly a little scared nervous energy. house of wolves has been in my rotation the past month or so bc it reminds me of trevor gta a lot. wttbp i skip every time just about. i save that song for when people are trying to be emo allies and queue it on the aux or when it comes on the radio or in public. blood is AMAZING and reminds me a lot of the song air from the hair soundtrack, and i wonder if gerard was trying to specifically mimic that songs vibe because if u ask me thats very gerard. i think overall the concept and the lore of the album's fruition appeal to me more than anything else, i also love mother war and some of the other various character designs.

4. current era; im saying this because foundations of decay is literally that promising of a single and the shows' outfits are so wonderful and the energy and love and happiness is just so fucking palpable that i already know this is where the new album is gonna sit for me. its gonna be so fucking good. we all know this so well. favorites include nurse gerard the mikey fuckin way shirts and that slicked back hair gerard mmf yum

5. danger days; im SORRRY i just. the songs only appeal to me on a surface level aside from destroya and i always just get rlly bad feelings when i see pics of gerard bc i know he said he was starving himself and it makes me :/ more than anything else seeing him. i feel Bad saying he looked hot. this is also the only album with songs i actively dislike within. i will say that when i say i like destroya. i fucking Love destroya. its so good its so fucking good its everything to me. OH and im gonna include the killjoys comic in this and say that even though i love it so fucking much its not enough to put it above current era. its not that i dislike danger days. its that every other era is so strong compared in my mind that since something has to be last it will be this. favorite moments include the videos of them behind the scenes for na na na laughing and having fun the photoshoot with the backdrop where they're all underneath it and gerard looks like a fucking otherworldly being level insane like hes made of porcelain and the mv shots of them in the trans am at night especially going in the tunnel speeding ass out of town. i will add that i discovered mcr thru sing bc it was on a rhythm game i owned at 11 and i still remember the two days before mcr broke up when i finally remembered to give them a listen and openly cried watching them all die in the killjoy vids so theres a nostalgic rawness that part of me wants to leave preserved like an artifact at a museum.

anyway novel over those are my full thoughts on the mcr eras

things i didnt mention that i shouldve include the bat buckle the infamous stage kiss the spitting and gerard palming his cock through his jeans on stage lmao

What are your favorite beauty and haircare products?

oh man this is such an important question to me. i'm going to take it in order of types of product

skincare: i can't rave enough about the Paula's Choice BHA. It's done WONDERS for my skin in just the couple of weeks i've been using it. I absolutely love it. Also i just started testing the supergoop unseen sunscreen (and actually all their spf products) and i love love love them all already.

primer: milk hydrogrip. i've tried so many. but this, this, is the best.

foundation: fenty beauty hydrating foundation!!! also the make up forever ultra HD stick foundation. sooo gorgeous. buttery. incredibly easy to blend. hydrating. love love love.

concealer: i've been using the kosas concealer lately - it's solid! very natural. i think i'd have liked a bit more coverage but it blends sooo beautifully and feels amazing.

powder: laura mercier setting powder. i love her. i need her. also the fenty beauty pressed powder for touch-ups and a second setting powder.

blush: how to even express. i love blush. colourpop supershock blushes are amazing. so bouncy and delicious. RARE BEAUTY LIQUID BLUSHES i will SWEAR by these. my favorite blushes are brown and terracotta colors, and the rare beauty terracotta is soooo gorgeous. i also love the fenty beauty cream blush. i have a lovely brown/maroon color. obsessed with it.

highlighter: sorry, no one can beat the colourpop supershock highlighters. (though the rare beauty liquid illuminator is STUNNING especially paired with the blushes.)

eyeliner: even though my eyeliner is my signature, i actually don't have an eyeliner that i'm obsessed with. the closest one was the NYC (not NYX) eyeliner but that's been discontinued. i just pick up whatever and make it work. i HATE felt tip eyeliners, i much prefer brush-tip, and I don't like the really vinyl-y ones that peel off. i want them to be streaks of paint. eyeliner pencils, i love colourpop and urban decay. i really enjoy pops of color!

eyeshadow: my most used palettes are the ABH soft glam, the colourpop it's a mood mega palette, and the colourpop good sport palette. but i have...too many eyeshadow palettes and singles lol.

eyebrow products: i have naturally thick eyebrows and when they're threaded, they don't really need a whole lot. i used to use the LA Girl brow pomade but ever since i lost mine (lol) i've just been using tinted brow gel and that's enough for me to get a teensy bit more fullness and keep them set. i've been going between the essence dark brown tinted brow gel AND the colourpop dark brown tinted brow gel. my only complaint about the latter is that it's tiny so it runs out very quickly but it's my favorite.

haircare: i'm still working on figuring out exactly what works for me but i've really been enjoying the shea moisture leave in condition that's like. maracuja and fig? i think? it's really nice. also the hibiscus (hah) curling cream is really nice too!

i don’t remember if this is something spotify tells you and i’m too lazy to check but if i were to hazard a guess it would be between three cheers for sweet revenge (mcr), all of us flames (ezra furman), 13 songs (fugazi), and led zeppelin’s mothership

5. TV show of the year?

oof this is tricky. i mean i think the answer for the whole year is obviously daredevil just because it was the only thing i thought about for the first like six months of the year, but i also hyperfixated on stranger things, the sandman, and recently community. oh i also did a full new who (re)watch and then binged all of torchwood after that lol

13. How was your birthday this year?

it was really good! i hung out with my two best friends, my dad got me all the books i wanted, and my mom surprised me by taking me to the ballet, but there’s a twist: the entire company was comprised of drag queens. ballet is one of those things that i never really actively seek out but i’m always mesmerized by whenever i happen to see it, so to see a ton of 6’+ drag queens go fully on pointe and do a play-that-goes-wrong style version of swan lake was AMAZING. look up les ballets trockadero de monte carlo, they’re so cool

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

ooo lemme see. first of all, my college is doing rent and i know our directors are eyeing me for one of the leads (don’t know who though lol). i’m also being commissioned by my college to do a portrait of this famous jazz guitarist and present it to him at a concert in february. i’m also turning 20, which is insane, and my local theaters have really great seasons planned. that’s all at the beginning of the year just cause i don’t really know about anything that might be happening later on, but i’m still really excited!!
