Fights will occur over the course of ONE WEEK, quarter 1 begins JUNE 1ST, 2024 at 12:00 AM MIDNIGHT EDT (UTC-04:00).

Multiple fights happen across one week.

ONLY 3 to 4 team members per team. 2 is too few, 5 is almost cheating. If a team has more than 4 members, some will have to wait in the stands (looking at you, Scooby-Doo and Tally Hall).

Tumblr poll will determine the winner of an individual fight via emotional support and gracious cookie donations.

Majority Wins. Whether or not a team would canonically win or lose the fight does not matter, only the number of votes.

Single Elimination.

Me and my sister are here. It’s… been a while, huh?

Yeah, so that means we should introduce ourselves to Corrie’s friends or family. To everyone new here, my names Pyra, and I’m one of the Aegis twins. I’m able to manipulate fire and I’m also really good at cooking!

Alright. My names Mythra, I’m the complete opposite of Pyra in the cooking department but I’m really good at calling down lasers from outer space. I’m the older sister of Pyra and my element is light.

Secrets in the Springs

Sapphire, Pyra, Mythra, Nia and Poppi spend an evening relaxing together in Mor Ardain’s famous hot springs, where a couple of secrets begin to reveal themselves. In the process, Pyra makes an important decision. (1650 words) Replaces the XC2 cutscene “Secret in the Springs” from the start of Chapter 4. Content warning for some description of an old significant physical injury.

This is a piece I originally posted to my old blog, but I’ve updated it slightly to reflect some changes to the storyline and figured it would be good to post again! Don’t worry, it’s mostly much happier than the previous writing I posted here - especially once you get to the end, hehe~

The sandstorms from earlier in the day had thankfully settled down - the evening was still very warm, but a soft wind drifting through Alba Cavanich made the heat much more pleasant. Behind the inn that rested on Smùide Mountain, the group had taken the opportunity to relax in the local hot springs - Rex and Tora had gone earlier in the evening and appeared much more refreshed for the experience, but now it was the ladies’ bathing slot, and all of them were eager to spend the evening enjoying a relaxing bath together.

Sapphire in particular was not used to the arid conditions on Mor Ardain’s Titan, given that her homeland within Uraya was a much more subdued and watery kingdom, so she also relished the opportunity to try out the hot springs. By the time she had gotten ready, Poppi was already happily playing about in the springs, while Nia had her back to the entrance and only her head was above the water. Finally, Sapphire tentatively poked her head around the corner of the changing room, so that it was all that could be seen from within the baths themselves.

“It’s just us here, right?”

“Yeah, don’t worry!” Nia turned her head to smile, though Sapphire did think she looked somewhat nervous. “The inn seemed pretty much empty when we first got here, so I don’t reckon anyone else’ll be coming in.”

Poppi nodded in agreement. “Probability of interruption from other people very small. Therefore, is perfect time for all to enjoy springs together. The water very nice temperature, even for Poppi!”

“Hang on.. Should you even be in the bath?” Nia had turned back to face the mechanical girl, and was now looking at her with a tilted head to show confusion. “Won’t you rust or something?”

In response, Poppi shook her head and kept smiling, eyes bright as ever. “There no problem. Poppi made from special alloy. No rust or need for oil!” The faint orange glow of her leg joints was visible even through the water, showing that she was kicking them back and forth in her usual manner.

Sapphire smiled at this, only to then jump when she realised Pyra was standing right behind her. Except it wasn’t Pyra - where she expected to see kind red eyes instead lay cold golden ones, and the familiar short bob of red hair was replaced by flowing blonde strands.

“Wh- Mythra?!”

“Yeah?” She looked unamused.

“Sorry, mate, you really startled me there!”

Wanting to give Mythra some space, Sapphire stepped out from behind the entrance to the changing room into the proper springs area, prompting Poppi to look surprised and Nia to turn around because of that. Although she still had a towel around her body, the other girls could now all see several swathes of what looked like very old grazes on Sapphire’s arms and the backs of her legs. They seemed to have healed, yet still appeared somewhat serious.

“Wait, what happened to you?!” Mythra was first to speak up, sounding more worried than she ever really had. Her usual short temper still shone through, however - she seemed almost annoyed for not noticing the injuries beforehand.

“Oh, these?” Sapphire raised her arms halfheartedly, looking somewhat embarrassed. “Don’t worry. These are just left over from.. how I got to Uraya. Don’t worry, most of it’s all healed up by now. So nothing’s going to mess up the water or anything, I promise.”

There was a silence.

“..I guess I never told you guys about that, huh.”

“No, you didn’t. Not that I was awake for, anyway.” said Mythra.

“You don’t ‘ave to tell us if you don’t want to, though.” Nia added. “Only share what you’re comfortable with.”

Sapphire nodded. “Thanks, Nia. Um.. this isn’t exactly the place to go all in-depth about that kind of thing, so, ah.. I’ll just say that, from what I know, my parents and I were on a ship crossing the Cloud Sea when it capsized and got washed into Uraya’s Titan. A bit like you guys did, I guess, though there was.. a lot more of an impact. Honestly, I don’t even know how I managed to stick around long enough for Dad and his mercs to find me on one of their checkups.”

“Oh.. Are you sure you’re okay? That must have been hard..” continued Mythra, still looking worried. There was a flash of glowing energy, and suddenly Pyra was stood in her place, looking even more concerned.

“I’m so sorry for what happened to you, Sapphire! Nobody should have to go through such a horrible thing..”

“Pyra, please, I’m fine! It’s okay!” Sapphire said, a little too suddenly - quickly realising her mistake, she hastily tried to recover: “I- I really appreciate that you care so much, but, I promise I’m fine. Come on, let’s just enjoy the springs together.”

As she turned around to put her towel on the rocks behind her before lowering herself into the blissfully warm water, the true extent of Sapphire’s injuries became clearer - the old grazes were nothing in comparison to the massive streak of half-healed scar tissue covering most of her back and shoulders. Parts of it seemed to somehow reflect the low light from the torches and the glow of Poppi and Pyra’s Core Crystals, as if there were tiny specks of something shiny in there.

Nia’s worried expression had returned. “Saph, that really doesn’t look good.. You sure you’re alright?”

“Yes!” She still seemed slightly on-edge, but being in the water was clearly very relaxing for her. “I already said, it doesn’t really hurt. I’ve had all this for as long as I can remember; it’s just how I am. Trust me, it was a lot worse when I was little.”

“Poppi worried about Sapphire..” said Poppi, sounding sad. The stillness of the water and the glowing lights visible under its surface showed that she wasn’t playing about anymore.

“Aww, it’s okay, Poppi!” Sapphire turned and smiled at her again. “I’m fine, honestly!”

Pyra still wasn’t convinced. “You’d tell us if you weren’t, though, right..?” She crouched down at the side of the water and reached over to take Sapphire’s hand in her own.

“Of course I would, silly. Come on in, the water is amazing..”

This made Pyra feel more at ease, and she happily took the chance to sit next to Sapphire, who in turn was all the more grateful to be able to enjoy Pyra’s natural warmth in close proximity. Another silence then settled, though this one was much more natural, and the girls were able to take the time to properly enjoy the heat of the water and relax in the hot springs.

Eventually, never the quiet one, Poppi had something to say.

“Poppi has question for Nia.”

“Huh?”

“Why does Nia have-?” The artificial Blade’s inquisitive tone was quickly interrupted by none other than Nia herself, who at this point was almost entirely submerged in the water.

“Oh, I know what you’re gonna say, I think. Don’t- don’t worry about it.”

At this point, Mythra returned, automatically shifting away from Sapphire as she turned to face Nia herself. “I had noticed, too. It’s true, then, that you’re..?” She trailed off, not knowing how to properly word her own question.

“Mmm.. yeah.”

Mythra nodded. “Do you want us to keep it a secret?”

“I was.. a little bit embarrassed about all this, but.. Yeah, if you could, that’d be grand. Not like I could hide it here when it’s this dark, anyway. As long as you guys are all okay with me being here, then-”

“Of course, mate!” “Poppi is fine!” “Why wouldn’t we?”

The chorus of reassuring voices brought her an incredible comfort.

“Thanks, guys.”

Later that evening, once everyone had retired to their rooms for the night, Mythra noticed within herself that Pyra seemed nervous.

“Something wrong?”

“What? No! I mean.. We share memories, so you’d know if something was wrong, surely?”

“I guess that’s true. But, you seemed like you were coming to a decision of some kind. And I mean, I don’t really wanna pry if I don’t have to.”

“Haha, thank you for that.. And, you’re right about the decision. So, um, Mythra - what do you think about Sapphire?”

“Uh.. she seems pretty nice? But she isn’t someone you want to make angry, given how mad she was at Malos and Akhos. I wasn’t awake yet for all that time you two spent journeying through Uraya, so this was kind of the first time I’ve gotten to interact with her properly. I can’t say I was expecting you to get into a relationship, but.. You two make a good fit for each other, even if she is a little more energetic than you tend to be.”

“You really think so?”

“Wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t.”

“Ah, I suppose you’re right.. Sorry!”

“Why’d you ask that, anyway?”

“Well, it’s just, um.. It was so great for me to know that she’d be able to come with us after we left Uraya. I know she’s probably still worried about Vandham, but.. if his injuries have really been patched up as well as they seemed to, then he should recover without too much of a problem, right?”

“Yeah, Nia said Dromarch was able to get him stable once I took Obrona out and the ether came back.”

“Right, that was it. And, um.. Since we’ve been here in Mor Ardain, I’ve been thinking about something, and.. after that time we all spent together tonight, and being around her like that, I think I’ve figured it out. Sapphire is the person I really want to be with, for the rest of my life. ..However much longer that even ends up being.

I have no idea how I’m going to go about it, but..

I think I’m going to ask her to marry me.”

RePower: Season 1 trailer

The trailer for the first season of an anthology TV series somewhat akin to Marvel’s What If.

(Open on Seeyer—an entity physically similar to Tabuu, but dark red in color, and far more benevolent in nature—hovering before a massive screen, upon which multiple planets resembling Earth can be seen.)

Seeyer: There are so many multiverses, each one containing countless universes. It seems only natural that sometimes, one multiverse will leave some form of mark on another.

(Cut to Ike [Path of Radiance design] lying on his back in a mystical circle as four magic-users take up positions—one by his head, one by each hand, and one by his feet. Shot of Ike, now resembling his Radiant Dawn self [albeit with his Path of Radiance attire], getting to his feet and accepting Ragnell and a large, circular shield from someone offscreen. Shot of Ike leading the Greil mercenaries into battle.)

Seeyer: Among such are worlds where some of the residents have abilities not native to their universe...

(Cut to Greninja, dressed in a red and blue outfit with a spider emblem, fighting an unusually large Rhydon with a bronze hide. Zoom in on a large puddle of water nearby.)

Seeyer: ...and sometimes have destinies usually meant for others...

(The puddle suddenly rises up and morphs into the shape of a Malamar. Before it can attack Greninja, however, it’s hit by a bolt of electricity. Knocking out the Rhydon, Greninja looks over and sees Pikachu wearing a black and red version of his costume. The two share a fist bump.)

Seeyer: ...even to the point where others’ roles are changed as well...

(Cut to Robin sitting in the lotus position, focused on the tome hovering in front of him. A white cloak with golden trim flies into view, prompting him to look up and smile as if greeting a friend. The cloak slips onto his shoulders, and he begins to levitate about a foot off the floor.)

Seeyer: ...for with infinite worlds, anything is possible.

(Cut to ROB, Wolf O’Donnell, Samus [in ‘Zero Suit mode’ and with a white streak in her hair], DK [with blue fur], Diddy Kong [with dark blue fur and glowing eyes], and Isabelle in brightly colored costumes, fighting various Subspace enemies. ROB fires off eye blasts, Wolf uses metal-covered claws to slice a Towtow to ribbons, Samus flies up to a Floow and destroys it with a superstrong punch, DK engages a pair of Nagagogs in close combat, Diddy dodges attacks by teleporting, and Isabelle creates brightly glowing plasma blobs that flash brightly as they explode.)

Seeyer: Now, allow me to show you just how much can change...

(Cut to Min Min, Mythra, Ken Masters, and Terry Bogard sprawled on the floor of a high-tech room, trying to to regain their bearings. Shot of Min Min prodding her stretched-out torso in curiosity. Shot of Mythra looking into a mirror, watching her reflection vanish as she turns invisible. Shot of Ken grinning as he holds up a handful of flames, which morph into different shapes. Shot of Terry staring at his hand, watching it shift to orange rock and back again.)

Seeyer: ...when the heroes of one set of worlds...

(Cut to the quartet standing on a rooftop, now dressed in light blue versions of their previous attire. Min Min, Mythra, and Ken have ‘4’ emblems on their chests, while Terry has one on his belt. As an enormous airship looms above them, the side panels displaying Geese Howard’s laughing face, they look at each other and nod. Ken ignites into flames and rockets up into the air, Mythra and Terry following on discs of transparent energy created by the Aegis. Grabbing a device resembling a mechanical version of her Dragon, Min Min stretches upward after the other three.)

Seeyer: ...are imbued with the powers of those from another.

(Cut to Young Link, wearing a dark blue and purple version of his usual attire, firing an arrow off to the side. A Trowlon flies into view, is hit by the arrow, and is blown to bits by the resulting explosion. Cut to Steve [wearing a blue-grey bodysuit] running through a canyon at superhuman speed, carrying Alex [dressed in varying shades of red] in his arms. Alex is firing bolts of red energy from her hands at the robots chasing them. Suddenly, a yellow energy beam pierces down from above, turning a row of robots to ash. The camera pans upwards to reveal Mega Man, with red skin, green armor, and a flowing yellow cape descending from above. Alex gives him a smile as he catches up to her and Steve, flying alongside them. Cut to Pit [wearing silver armor over a red tunic and blue pants] standing face to face a Reaper and a swarm of Reapettes as he tucks Palutena’s bow into the quiver on his back. His eyes begin to glow as his hands curl into fists and crackle with electricity. Nearby, Dark Pit [wearing green and gold] tenses with anticipation. Cut to Simon Belmont, his once blonde hair now an emerald green, holding his hands out as a Minotaur charges at him. Before the monster can strike him, he catches it by the horns, and in a display of incredible strength, he lifts it over his head before slamming it to the ground. Cut to Rosalina in a red and blue suit with a golden starburst emblem on the chest, flying through space with a trio of Lumas following her. Cut to title card.)

(Cut to an armored figure with a green cloak hovering in a darkened sky. With one hand, he withdraws his sword from the scabbard at his belt, and with the other, he removes the metal Greek theater-style mask upon his face, revealing the visage of none other than Sephiroth.)

Sephiroth: I suppose the only question is...to which world shall I bring despair first?

I'm sure Rex's group would get unexpected help from Sonic and co, on saving Pyra from Eggman, even though Rex don't know how they are of where they come from. Looking at Sonic Forces Plotline, Tails and Sonic would learn a lot about the other world and the Aegis (Possibly powerful then the Phantom Ruby) via Network terminals at Chemical Plant shortly after Classic Sonic Destroys the Death Egg. Anyway! I think thats it for me, I had a lot of fun with these ideas, so thanks again for the time~!

Ah, I’m really sorry I didn’t respond to this sooner! I took a bit of a break from my computer (since my laptop is in poor shape), but my phone didn’t notify me of the new ask.

Yeah, I’m sure Sonic and friends would want to help save Pyra. Tails would especially be interested in learning about the Aegis, I’m sure.

(I’ll put the bulk of my discussion under a cut, since there are some light spoilers in there, and I have at least one friend who follows me that hasn’t beaten Sonic Forces yet. There are also Xenoblade 2 spoilers.)

Honestly, the Aegis and the Phantom Ruby seem to have similar levels of power, surprisingly. The Aegis, at full power (or at least Pyra/Mythra as Pneuma), is said to have the power to “turn imagination into reality” (I’m pretty sure Jin said that). The Phantom Ruby, meanwhile, has been seen doing something similar. As such, studying the Aegis might lead to a better understanding of how to combat the Phantom Ruby. Granted, since this all happens near the beginning of the story of Xenoblade 2, they might not draw that conclusion.

I think the Aegis would be able to overpower the Phantom Ruby, especially if Pyra/Mythra awaken their full strength. We don’t know the exact origins of the Phantom Ruby (to my knowledge; I don’t have Sonic Mania yet). We do know, however, that the Aegis Blades were created by The Architect (a literal god).

Sapphire first became able to perform a Blade Drive with Mythra - which, incidentally, was the first Blade Drive she’d done based on a close platonic connection rather than a familial or romantic one - when she and Mythra both moved to lash out at Zeke for his comments about the refugees in the Indoline Praetorium. The combination of their fused strength and Zeke’s chronically bad luck was enough to send him flying off the bridge by getting launched over the wall, and nearly off the Indoline Titan itself.

At this point, it wasn’t clear how well Vandham would recover from his injuries, and most of the party were under the impression that Sapphire would be staying behind in Garfont to look after him.

“I still can’t really believe everything that happened up there, you know. I mean, between your.. you called her your sister, right? Between her waking back up again, and Roc going back to his Core Crystal, and everything that happened with Dad- it was definitely a lot, to be sure.. It sure was a lot to take in.

But, I’ve made my decision. I’m coming with you guys. I don’t want to leave you behind, Pyra, and if getting up there to Elysium is really what you want to do, then I’m going to help out in any way I can! Plus, I want to find out more about why I’m the way that I am, you know? This power I’ve got, there has to be some kind of reason for me having it. Swap: Your S/I and your F/O(s) exchange roles for a day, willingly or begrudgingly, casually or through supernatural circumstances. How well (or terribly) does it go? Alternatively, how would things be different if the roles had always been swapped? - this will probably be focusing more on the second concept. Now, I have a Driver Sapphire AU, but I’ve never thought about an Aegis Sapphire AU.. and hey, wait, what if Avalon replaced Malos in this AU, because we need more light-element antagonists in games and whatnot, that could also be a cool twist!!

Sapphire as an Aegis would be enthusiastic about and protective of humans, above all else. She’s fascinated by the ways that they look out for each other, the ways they try and make a name for themselves, the ways they can all band together when the situation calls for it. For all their flaws, they have so much incredible potential, and have already done so much in the world that she has been awake for. She may not fit in with them well, but that’s part of why she likes them - because even if she is clearly so different to them, the group she’s found herself in still welcome her. ..She also knows how Avalon could so easily have been so similar to her in terms of outlook, if only they had been awakened by another, kinder, Driver.

To bring it back to a swap concept, would this make Pyra and Mythra Vandham’s (twin?) daughters? Thinking about them having the Urayan accent (i.e. an Australian accent) is a very amusing concept, haha =P - but I think it could be interesting for both of them to be powerful mercenaries in their own right, even if they aren’t actually Drivers! Maybe the swords that they carry were designed to mimic how Sapphire’s own Aegis Sword appears from legends, so they get to keep their normal weapons even if they wouldn’t be Blade weapons in this AU.

(Of course, given what Sapphire in the normal version of events technically actually is, it could be interesting to think about how Pyra and Mythra ended up as that kind of entity too, which is maybe why their weapons stay so fancy.)

because this fits both of them well!!! Mythra is more obviously the one who will not take any messing whatsoever, but just because Pyra is naturally more soft-spoken doesn’t mean she can’t also get serious when the situation calls for it. She isn’t afraid to stand up for her friends, and that’s something I’m not sure everyone realises!!!

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self-insert? - I like to think that Sapphire is pretty well-liked within the cast! In terms of the playable Drivers, Rex is supportive of her being with Pyra and wants to help her figure out the source of her abilities. Nia and Sapphire bond initially over having catgirl solidarity, and continue to be close friends over time, especially after Nia is able to successfully save Vandham's life. Tora admires Sapphire's acrobatics and looks up to her enough to entrust her with Poppi, while Mòrag appreciates that she is more than capable of being serious if necessary, and is smarter than she lets on. Zeke likes Sapphire for the opposite reason, that being her energetic and chaotic streak, but overall the two get on well (though Sapphire’s opinion of Zeke did fluctuate a lot before Tantal, the lowest point being when he made an awful comment about the refugees in Indol and she promptly pushed him off the bridge because she was so angry at him).

9. who are your self-insert's closest friends? - Sapphire is pretty close with a lot of the mercenaries working in Garfont Village, because a lot of them that have been around with Vandham for a long time saw her grow up. However, that means her bond with them is probably more familial than friendly, so in terms of the party, I would say she is closest friends with Mythra, Nia, Crossette, Rex, and Zeke.

She would have been close friends with Avalon, too, if only she'd ever been able to meet them.

Dark: What is your S/I or F/O incredibly passionate about? It could be anything, a hobby, a cause, etc. Do they share this with others? - Pyra is very proud of her skill with cooking! She very much enjoys it as a hobby, and she likes being able to share her cooking with others, because it's one of the ways she shows she cares about those around her. Not only that, but since she is a very talented chef, she likes seeing that other people enjoy the food that she makes, and that makes her feel happier about her passion. (And sometimes a bit sad for Mythra as well, who canonically cannot cook to save her life despite enjoying doing so. Which, incidentally, is why Pyra can cook so well, since.. well, Pyra is supposed to have every good trait that Mythra doesn't.)

Ghost: What is your S/I or F/O shy about? What gives them confidence? - ..It's probably odd that this is the same answer as the other one, but, I think Skye is pretty shy about his cooking! It's one thing to spend the time working away in the kitchen making something that he knows only he will actually eat, but.. he isn't actually very used to cooking for other people (or caring about other people), and that turns out to be an entirely different ball game. When he needs confidence, or needs to fake confidence, he plays up that typical suave and smooth-talking "ooh look at me I'm the prince of the stars and I'm pretty and I know it" aspect of himself - it's not really an act since in a way that is how he is as a person, but, sometimes he needs a chance to let his hair down and relax for once. And, ironically, knowing Emily is there for him no matter what does actually help him regain that confidence.

I apologise that this post is so long, but I decided to change something and I wanted to make things clear! It’s nothing bad or anything, just a little update

I’ve decided that, from now on, my selfships with Pyra and Perun will be in separate versions of events, although I will still use the same self-insert (in this case, Sapphire) for both selfships! So, in any given scenario, Sapphire will either be Pyra’s girlfriend or Perun’s girlfriend, but not with both at once. It just makes more sense to me to do things that way and makes me feel better about both selfships.

..More explanation and rambling is under the readmore, just because otherwise this post would have been stupidly long if I didn’t put it under there!

I don’t really want to call either case an AU of the other, because that implies one or the other is the “default” which isn’t really what I want - although, given that Pyra is one of my main three romantic F/Os whereas Perun is not, and Pyra is such a more prevalent character in the game compared to Perun, I understand if people end up thinking of my selfship with Pyra as taking precedence over my selfship with Perun in their minds. But they are technically different versions of events - think like the two counterpart Pokémon games, which both follow the same kind of basic story but with different events along the way?

(It’s different to how my selfships with the two versions of Aqua work, incidentally, since my selfship with Anti-Aqua is only within the context of the fallen light AU, and in that situation it does make sense to treat my selfship with Aqua as she is normally as the “default” state of things. Though I think part of that stems from the fact that Aria’s personality is a bit different between the normal and AU situations.)

This doesn’t really change too much in terms of story for either version of events - even in the case where Sapphire is with Perun rather than Pyra, she would still be good friends with Pyra and probably able to still perform a Blade Drive with her, just not as quickly (maybe after Nia instead of before?). The events in Sapphire’s big confrontation at the end of Chapter 7 don’t have to be altered too much (check under the readmore for rambled context if you’re curious), and so on and so forth.

The only thing I might do is move Perun’s resonance forwards, since I originally put it midway through Chapter 6 and that’s fairly late from a story perspective. So if I make it so she joins the party, say, somewhere in Leftheria, she gets to be around for all the travel in Chapter 5, since that encompasses Leftheria but also some of Indol and Temperantia. I still think Mòrag is the best fit as her Driver from both a story and gameplay perspective, so Perun wouldn’t feature until she joins the party, but.. I’m wondering if keeping Sapphire out of the party for most of Chapter 4 because she’s in Garfont looking after Vandham until he recovers enough for her to come back and meet up with everyone again might make things flow a bit better in that version of events? I’ll think about it.

I hope that all this makes sense! It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a fair amount of time, and I feel a bit happier going about things now that I’ve changed this. I’ll try to make this clear on my carrd and whatnot as well (though at the time of posting that might have to wait until tomorrow), but please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or comments!

Context for what I meant by Sapphire’s big confrontation is below this point (I can’t put in a further readmore, unfortunately) - warning that it’s technically kind of spoilery by virtue of being pretty late-game:

At the end of Chapter 7 at the Cliffs of Morytha, I had always had it written that Sapphire lashes out at Malos and pushes him off the cliff, just before everyone else falls down as well from the cliff breaking (thanks, Artifices). At that point in time, Jin is freezing everyone by trying to bring the temperature down to absolute zero. I originally circumnavigated this by having Sapphire be bonded with Pyra at the moment that she and Mythra ascend to become Pneuma, so not only was she bonded to Pyra and therefore able to move because of her warmth, but Sapphire also gained the ability to perform a Blade Drive with any Blade, not just those she had already built trust and affinity with, because of her connection to the Master Blade, Pneuma. This even includes other Aegis Blades, though only for a moment. So, Sapphire confronts Malos and performs a Blade Drive on him - so he feels, for a moment, what it’s like to be powerless, but also maybe some idea how much she cares about her friends - and then pushes him off the cliff when he forces her out.

However, in the version of events where Sapphire is with Perun instead of Pyra, she would perform a Blade Drive with her instead, and is still able to move because - as an ice-element Blade, like Jin - the cold doesn’t affect Perun at all. The two help Rex hold off Jin while Pyra and Mythra are talking before they ascend, then Sapphire still pushes Malos off the cliff, but it’s because he’s distracted by Pneuma’s attacks and Sapphire surprised him. I imagine in both cases he summons Ophion to try and catch him, but it doesn’t get there in time or is intercepted by Siren, so you still get the two Artifices fighting and bringing the rest of the cliff down.

The basic premise of “Sapphire isn’t bothered by Jin’s cold so she’s able to fight back against him, then pushes Malos off the cliff” remains the same in both cases, but the reasoning behind why she’s able to withstand the cold (Pyra keeping her warm vs. Perun letting her not feel the cold), and the way in which she gets Malos off the cliff (momentary Blade Drive with him so he stops in his tracks and falls vs. pushing him from the side while he’s distracted by Rex) are different. So, it all still works out!

Cameo: Your S/I and your F/O(s) are now in the last game, show, movie etc you consumed that’s not their source. (Or you can pick one.) How does it go? Alternatively, how would you rewrite the canon for your S/I and F/O(s) to fit into it? - That was.. I think that was actually KH3 at the time of writing this, since I went ahead and bought that alongside the DLC for my computer and I was playing it a bit earlier! I think it would probably go pretty well overall, especially given that whether Blades have hearts for Heartless to seek is something that could be called into question, not to mention Mythra’s literal incredible powers of light and Pyra’s fire powers coming from a light that is sealed away. Plus the whole thing about Driver-Blade connections probably translates quite well into KH′s whole “friendship is power/connections are what make hearts stronger” aspect, I would say.

Incidentally, I think the Aegis swords would make for awesome Keyblade designs/formchanges in some capacity, and from a general “Alrest being a world explored in Kingdom Hearts”-type perspective, I think Sora and Rex would be pretty good friends (though Nia might think Sora’s a bit too peppy, haha). 

Seconds: Your S/I and/or your F/O(s) are sent backwards, or forwards, in time. What point are they sent to? (Optional: Why/how did this happen?) How, if at all, do they change it? Alternatively, how would things be different if your S/I and your F/O(s) had met at a different time? - I’m thinking about this as Pyra and Sapphire getting sent back to the time of the Aegis War, 500 years prior to the main events of XC2. That could be pretty interesting.. especially given that Pyra maybe doesn’t necessarily retain all of Mythra’s memories of the war prior to her own creation. I don’t know how much of the experience bleeds through from one sister to the other, so to speak. They would definitely try and stop Malos if they could, or at least try and get everyone off the Tornan Titan if things were still fated to go the way that they do. After all, having grown up in Garfont Village - a place created by Vandham to give refugees and orphans of war a safe place to go - Sapphire would sympathise all too well with those escaping the aftermath of the Aegis War. 

Alternatively, if we were to get sent forwards, it might only be for a moment, but maybe we would see a glimpse of what Sapphire assumes is (and Pyra thinks she remembers as) Elysium - the sprawling landmass at the very end of the journey, a paradise where everyone is finally able to leave in peace together, where Pyra has said she has wanted to reach for the whole of the story. That kind of sight is the type of thing to give both of us hope again, maybe at the same time as when Rex finds what’s in the Vault of Heroes in Chapter 7?

mythical AU - a generic fantasy universe where all of my F/Os and their corresponding self-inserts exist as different mythical creatures, and all of my romantic selfships exist in tandem (apart from my one with Anti-Aqua - she only exists if Aqua doesn’t). The specific information regarding what sort of creature everyone is is written in the section for ecah individual selfship.

void-kissed (Luna/Adriana) AUs:

void spirit AU - Luna is lost to the Void at the end of Episode 18, instead of escaping with Adriana. She is able to carry on existing in the world as a spirit, but only Anna is left able to properly perceive her, with Adriana needing to wear one of Reborn’s four seals in order to be able to see her.

mythical AU - in the mythical AU, Luna is a ghost tied to the Emerald Brooch while Adriana is a witch who is able to communicate with and summon her. She goes on a journey to try and save Luna from being destroyed when Elias and the rest of Team Meteor try to acquire all four of the seals.

survivors of the dark (Aqua/Aria) AUs:

vampire AU - Aria is a powerful vampire (one of those classic “rich and alone and lives in a mansion and has dark powers”-types), whereas Aqua is a vampire hunter sent to destroy her. However, a rival vampire faction (i.e. Xehanort and his allies) attacks Aria’s mansion while she is hosting a ball, and Aqua ends up having to fight alongside her to both stay alive and rescue her fellow vampire hunters Terra and Ven, who had been turned and captured respectively by the rival vampires.

PAFL AU - the selfship is set in the world of Parties Are For Losers, a series created by the Vocaloid producer Ferry. Aqua and Terra live as siblings with Eraqus, who adopted them both; Terra wants to become a stalker of the Zone and Aqua is trying to stop him because it’s such a dangerous career path. Aria is a mutant who escapes the Zone facility when KT and Dima do, bringing fellow mutant Ventus with her, and the two of them end up running into the Wayfinders.

dual wayfinder AU - instead of going into the realm of darkness, Aria is transported into the future alongside Ventus, losing her memories of her true nature in the process. They both become Master Xehanort’s apprentices, and he tries to use Ven’s light and Aria’s darkness to forge the X-Blade, but it doesn’t work so he sends them off to Eraqus. Vanitas and Ves are then split from Ventus and Aria at Terra and Aqua’s Mark of Mastery exams, prompting a world-spanning chase to find answers.

mythical AU - in the mythical AU, Aqua is an angel whereas Aria is a vampire. I don’t have any story for it yet, though.

to our own Elysium (Pyra/Sapphire) AUs:

driver Sapphire AU - Sapphire takes Rex’s place as Pyra’s Driver - she is a wanderer from Gormott who was hired by Torna to open the door on the already-raised Ancient Ship (which in this AU needs a light-element Blade to open instead of a Leftherian, and Sapphire was already Avalon’s Driver which is why they needed someone like her). Rex appears as Vandham’s biological son from canon who didn’t die, but he doesn’t join the party.

DQIX AU - essentially the story of Dragon Quest IX but told using the XC2 characters. Mythra is a Celestrian and acts as the Guardian of the volcanic town of Upover, but falls down to the Protectorate in the form of a mortal armamentalist called Pyra when the Observatory is attacked. Pyra enlists the help of Sapphire and her father Vandham (who are residents of Upover) to travel across the world and regain her divine abilities. The Indoline Praetorium replace the Gittish Empire, except Torna are the Triumgorate who betray them, and Malos replaces Corvus.

mythical AU - in the mythical AU, Pyra is a dragon stuck in a mostly human form (unlike her siblings Mythra and Malos, who are also dragons except they can choose to take human form if they wish to), while Sapphire is a werecat who ends up stumbling across Pyra in the forest and tries to help her get her powers back.

love, trust and diamond dust (Perun/Sapphire) AUs:

driver Sapphire AU - Perun resonates with Sapphire to become one of her Blades during the story, taking Pyra’s place as Sapphire’s main damage dealer during most of Chapter 7. She is also good friends with Avalon, who is alive in this AU.

DQIX AU - Perun is a paladin from Gleeba who ends up joining Sapphire, Vandham and Pyra on their quest across the Protectorate because she wants to help protect justice and figures that aiding a Celestrian is the best way to do that. Her weapon is a spear, and in battle she tends to intercept attacks meant for the others a lot.

mythical AU - in the mythical AU, Perun is a yet-to-be-determined creature who had initially set out to slay the Aegis dragons, whereas Sapphire is a werecat who tries to dissuade her from doing so because their presence is important for the world’s balance.

dark hearts corrupted (Anti-Aqua/Aria) AUs:

fallen light AU - all normal content of my selfship with Anti-Aqua technically takes place within the context of this AU. It’s an alternate version of events in KH where Aqua ends up falling to darkness shortly after BBS as a result of her light fading and her anguish at being abandoned by the light. Anti-Aqua and Aria become rulers of the realm of darkness, wishing to get revenge on the light for abandoning them both (Aqua also wants revenge on Xehanort, whereas Aria seeks to reach the Final World).

mythical AU - in the mythical AU, Anti-Aqua is a fallen angel and Aria is the vampire that corrupted her. I don’t have any story for it yet, though.

reversed heroes AU - the “reverse AU” for this selfship. N is a kind Unovan Pokémon Ranger with the inborn ability to communicate with Pokémon, whereas Noire is the cold sheltered princess of Team Plasma who hates humanity for mistreating Pokémon. She is chosen by Zekrom for her belief in her misguided ideals for separating people and Pokémon, whereas N is chosen by Reshiram for his ability to understand the truth of how Pokémon are and wish to be.

mythical AU - in the mythical AU, N is a forest spirit and guardian of twin dragons Reshiram and Zekrom, who are sealed away within his forest. Noire is a fire elemental who was originally summoned by malevolent humans to help destroy the forest that N protects in order to reach and wake up the dragons, only to promptly decide “no thanks” and go off to do her own thing. which incidentally led to her learning to appreciate nature and helping N.

Elsewhere University AU - Emily is a biology student studying at Elsewhere University (created by charminglyantiquated on Tumblr) who uses Mimi as a safe name, and Skye is a mischevious changeling known on campus as the Phantom Prince who ends up becoming infatuated with her quite by accident.

under a bloodcursed sun (Serana/Cansen) AUs:

Dawnguard AU - the “reverse AU” for this selfship. Serana is the daughter of Harkon, leader of the Dawnguard, a renowned group of vampire hunters. He seeks to use the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy to create a relentless eternal day and destroy all vampires, not realising how disruptive this would be to the natural order of the world. Camille is a scholar from the First Era who was sealed away with an Elder Scroll containing part of this prophecy, which stopped her aging, while Isran and the rest of the normal Dawnguard make up the Volkihar vampire clan. After Serana accidentally frees Camille from where she was sealed away, the two of them go on a quest to complete the prophecy, so that Harkon or Isran’s vampires don’t get to it first.
