Eros/Psyche Parallels in Bridgerton Season 3

The show was not subtle with the Eros/Psyche parallels this season. So I attempted to go through episode by episode and find the connections. If I miss any obvious ones, let me know and I'll edit the post.

3x01- Out of the Shadows

Starting off strong with the opening credits! You briefly see a butterfly. Not only do the Featheringtons use butterflies as often as the Bridgertons use bees, but the butterfly is a symbol of Psyche.

When Penelope opens her wardrobe to that sea of YELLOW, her butterfly dress from the first ball of season 1 is visible.

Penelope talks with Genevieve about needing to find a husband this season and then we cut directly to Gregory with a bow (sans arrow) and he's pointing it directly at Colin. The bow and arrow is a symbol of Eros/Cupid.

Penelope sheds her cloak at that ball like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon.

The original Eros/Psyche myth has some jealous sisters and Prudence and Philippa, while maybe not jealous per se, are not happy to see their baby sister shining so brightly when she arrives.

And for more connection to the sisters--Psyche is the youngest of three daughters and her two older sisters are married before she is.

This one is, admittedly, a bit of a stretch but in the original myth there's some ire from Aphrodite because of all the attention Psyche is getting. And Cressida rips Penelope's dress once she is getting all the attention at the ball, specifically from Lord Debling.

Eros is sent by Aphrodite in the original story to marry Psyche off to marry someone/thing horrible (or just making sure no man wants to marry her) but Eros ends up falling for Psyche himself. Colin offers to help Penelope find a husband as a way to make up for what he said about her last year and, well, we all know where this is going!

3x02- How Bright The Moon

Edited to add (credit to @bridgertonblue)- Colin cuts his hand on the glass in the study. They flashback to this scene a few episodes later when Colin finally decides to take action with Penelope and his feelings for her. This can be a parallel to Eros getting struck with his own arrows and falling for Psyche.

Eros only visits Psyche at night. Colin comes to see Penelope at night in the garden after their scheme is exposed.

Eros accidentally struck himself with his own arrows and that's how he came to fall in love with Psyche. Colin kissed Penelope because he thought he was doing it for a friend, and he ended up awakening feelings he didn't even realize he had for her.

3x03- Forces of Nature

In the Architectural Digest Bridgerton Set Tour video, you'll see butterflies on the staircase in the entrance hall of Featherington House. It's not exclusive to this episode, I just thought I'd highlight it here since it's when we have the Eloise apology scene.

THIS ONE IS A HUGE STRETCH BUT I'LL PUT IT IN HERE ANYWAY--remember how windy it was with the balloon and Colin's arms that Penelope couldn't stop drooling over? Psyche was carried by Zephyrus-the West Wind-to her fancy new home and the godly husband she never sees.

3x04- Old Friends

Eros is tasked with marrying Psyche off, falls in love with her, and marries her instead. Colin offers to help Penelope find a husband earlier in the season, realizes he's been in love with her this whole time, and we get the iconic line, "For God's sake, Penelope Featherington! Are you going to marry me or not?"

3x05- Tick Tock

This one is another stretch, but Psyche has some jealous sisters who are not permitted to visit her at her new home (until Psyche convinces her husband to let them visit many months later). Prudence and Phillipa are being mean to Penelope over her engagement and Portia doesn't allow them to attend the engagement party. A Bridgerton engagement party, so you know that stings.

And another stretch! Psyche gets pressured by her sisters to find out her husband's true identity. Penelope gets pressured by Eloise to reveal her secret identity to Colin.

3x06- Romancing Mr. Bridgerton

Eros tells Psyche that she can never know what she looks like, which is why he only visits at night. If Psyche knows who her husband is, then eventually Aphrodite will find out and she'll be pissed. But Psyche, filled with doubt thanks to her jealous sisters, lights a candle while Eros is asleep, revealing his identity and betraying Eros.

Penelope writes/delivers her Whistledown column at night. Colin follows after her, discovers her secret identity, and feels betrayed.

3x07- The Joining of Hands

Eros leaves Psyche, feeling betrayed even though he still loves her deeply. Colin is cold and distant to Penelope in the fresh sting of his betrayal. But he still loves her and goes through with the wedding.

3x08- "Into the Light"

Eros refuses to see Psyche because he's been so hurt by her betrayal. Colin sleeps ten feet away from his wife's bedroom door (they must have had other bedrooms!) and leaves soon after she wakes up in episode 8.

Psyche has to go through some trials put forth by Aphrodite to get a chance to see her husband again. Penelope is confronted and blackmailed by Cressida when the latter learns that she is Lady Whistledown.

Psyche approaches two different goddesses to help her find Eros. Sometimes they refuse to help. Sometimes one of them points her in the direction of Aphrodite's place. Those two goddesses are Hera and Demeter. Two members of the most unlikely dream team in this episode are Portia and Eloise.

Hera is the goddess of marriage, women, and family, and she doesn't have the reputation of being an upstanding mother in mythology. She parallels Portia, mother to three ladies who she wants to see in secure marriages.

Demeter is the goddess of the harvest and agriculture. This is more of a reach, but she can parallel Eloise. In her book, her love interest Sir Phillip is experimenting in his greenhouse with peas(?) (I should probably read that book again) to increase their yield. Eloise also initially refused to get in between Penelope and Colin in the previous episode.

When Psyche goes through these trials, she's pregnant with Eros's baby. The showrunners confirmed that Colin knocked up Penelope in that mirror scene so she's in the very early stages of pregnancy here.

Psyche is indirectly helped by Eros (Zeus's eagle helps her out when they remember they owe Eros a favor). This angers Aphrodite and makes things worse for Psyche. Colin tries to save his wife by appealing to Cressida and ends up making things worse for Penelope.

Psyche's final trial involves going to the underworld. She deems this an impossible task and intends to sacrifice herself before she finds another way. Penelope decides to reveal her identity to the Queen and the ton, effectively sacrificing her reputation and potentially her marriage.

Zeus listens to Eros's pleas and grants Psyche immortality. The Queen is merciful to Penelope and doesn't punish her for Whistledown, allowing her to keep writing.

Psyche is often depicted either with butterfly wings or with a butterfly near/around her in art. Mrs. Varley releases the bugs (butterflies) directly after the Whistledown reveal.

Eros and Psyche are reunited and live a rare Happily Ever After in mythology. Penelope and Colin reconcile and go on to their own Happily Ever After.

birthday party architectural digest house tour …. like you Know it would go viral

literally such a dream... seeing it as happening while you're pregnant with amy, for some reason? idk. anyway! matty takes the lead on most of the actual architecture chat, because he's lived there longer - you quite early on in the tour mention that, and say "we were friends even before matty bought this place, though, and i always really liked hanging out here. it's calm, you know, it makes me feel good", and matty jokes like "so yeah basically she married me for the house" and kisses your head while you giggle (the fans go nuts for this i fear) - and then says "i'll let my wife talk about the interior design, i just followed her lead on that one". and you shake your head like "not really! the place was already gorgeous when i got here, we just rearranged some things to get all my bits and bobs moved in - as you can see, there are books EVERYWHERE - and added some of the furnishings i knew matty liked from my old flat. i would've been happy living here as it was before we got together, but this little sweetie pie was insistent on me changing things. and i think we've done a good job, you know, the house feels very Both of Us now", and matty hugs you and blushes at the compliment and adds "it's never felt so much like home to me as it does now, with her in it. and actually moving her in was a lot of fun"; he leads everyone to a painting in the living room and says "we actually did this one together the night you moved in, didn't we, babe? had a drink and threw paint at the canvas and just had a laugh with it", and you smile and nod and giggle internally at how hidden in the painting is literally a print of your tits because the two of you got carried away and fucked on the canvas lol. anyway! showing off the office/music room is fun, because it's basically matty just gushing about you for seven minutes nonstop, but the best room in the house is the room you've just finished doing up for the baby - matty gets a bit misty-eyed listening to you talk like "most of the colour in the house is here, which kind of feels fitting because that's the same as in our lives right now. and of course baby will stay in our room until they're a bit older, but we wanted to be ready anyway with the cot and everything. the framed prints of all the kids book covers was matty's idea, it's genius, and my mum made this blanket, which is exactly the same as the one my grandma made for me when i was born. sorry, i'm getting emotional", and he kisses your head and takes over like "the chair in the corner is no joke the comfiest thing in the world, and we can both fit on it, which is so crucial because then we can have group hugs with our kid when they arrive. yeah. i love this room. and i love the house the way it is now, a family home - s'what i always wanted it to be, with her specifically, to be honest. dream come true, really, even if this place going to be a nightmare to baby-proof" lol it's just so cute!! like you said, the video goes viral, a combo of compliments about your taste and people commenting like "a love like this WHEN god they're so cute i love them" UGH it's so perfect <3

"I'm not hungry," Lucas mumbled, as he slid in the backseat of the car that had been sent for them and Bella frowned.

She felt incredibly out of her depth. She could do caretaking, but she had no idea how to do emotional caretaking. Her family's unspoken policy with emotional troubles had always been "nothing a couple beers couldn't fix".

Luke was doing his best to show he was somewhat collected, but at least with her he wasn't bothering pretending and Bell was glad for that, she was happy he trusted her entirely... She just had no idea of how to fix it.

"I didn't ask if you were," she wrinkled her nose, pushing the bagel towards his mouth, "eat up."

Lucas groaned, but took the bagel, starting to tear it apart in his hands and force little, pathetic bites in his mouth. Bella looked up, catching the chauffeur glancing at them, but he quickly averted his gaze.

This was the salt in the wound, the fact that her husband was falling apart and yet here they were, in this farse, playing happy house with Kit Howard. Where there were drivers and Lucas felt the need to flash bright, horrible smiles whenever someone talked directly with him.

She watched from the corner of her eye as Luke gave up halfway through the bagel and instead just curled up against the door, staring at the changing scenario. They were supposed to have gotten there in the morning, but an emergency cuddle session had been needed, so they exchanged the tickets. It was amazing what the black card with A T W O O D stamped on it could get, Bella thought sourly, sliding closer to him.

"Hey, look at me," Bell cupped Luke's cheek and pressed her lips into a thin smile when she noticed his sad stare. He swallowed in, forcing up a tiny smile.

"I'm okay, Bell-"

"Don't," she shook her head, "don't lie to me. To everyone else, but not to me, okay?" she stroked his cheek, "let's make a decent holiday out of this, Luke. I know being here was the last thing we wanted and I know the timing isn't exactly good and that you're not feeling well, but... We can make a good thing out of a bad one, right?"

He nodded slowly, "at least we're not at Vince's," Lucas whispered, bitterly and Bella opened a surprised smile. She giggled, bumping her nose against his.

"Yeah, it would be hella awkward when I clawed his face off mid Christmas dinner."

"You'd never, you fucking love him," Luke rolled his eyes and Bella grinned at the playful tone, however weak it was.

"Oh, trust me, I can love the guy and still claw his fucking face off. Try me," she pressed a kiss over his lips, then pulled back and grabbed the ditched bagel on his lap, "finish it up."

"I'm full..."

"That's all you've had to eat today," Bella glared at him, "you're not full, babe. Now eat."

It was another twenty minutes as they entered his gated community and then Bella felt her stomach drop to her feet. Luke had prepared her for it. He had shown her pictures, a fucking Architecture Digest tour of his house - Kit grinning with those overly white smile of his -, but nothing could've prepared her for the sheer enormity of it all.

"God... This is sick," she whispered, gluing her nose to the car window and watching the mansion grow as it came closer. She tried to imagine Lucas, a little version of him, in that house, but couldn't. In fact, Bell couldn't imagine anyone living there, period.

"Your dad lives here all by himself?" she whispered, half amazed, half horrified and Luke shrugged.

"He's rarely home, he's always touring," he leaned closer, pressing a kiss to her shoulder, "some things don't change."

"So back then... It was just you and your mom...?" which someone made things worse, not better. One adult and a child in that haunted fucking mansion. It was a wonder that Luke was so well adjusted.

"Yeah," he pressed a kiss to her cheek, "and the staff."

"The staff," she wrinkled her nose. She was the staff, Bella knew it quite well. Her mother would be the staff, Bella herself, in another reality, "they don't count?" she raised her eyebrows, voice all bitter and Luke shook his head.

"Of course they do, I used to spend more time with them than with my own mother," he sighed, "dad fired everyone when she passed though, I don't know the new people well enough."

Reason number a hundred why Bella hated Kit Howard, she thought, squeezing Luke's hand as the car finally came to a stop.

She expected Kit to come out to greet them, but instead it was a chubby lady, with a friendly smile on and curly very blonde hair. She was a short little woman, half of Bell's size.

"Oh hi...?"

"Bella, this is Mary Ann," Lucas introduced them, "she runs everyone and everything in this house, dad included. Mary this Bella, my wife."

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Atwood."

Bella cringed, "nice to meet you too, but it's just Bella," she shook the woman's hand, then looked around awkwardly.

"Mr. Howard is in the studio," Mary said, to Luke, who let out a little sigh.

"Of course," he wrapped an arm around Bella's shoulders, "c'mon, let me show you around."

She half wished he hadn't shown her around. The house was a fucking mausoleum, as far as Bell was concerned. Unlike the Sicily house, that only had one picture of Veronica, this one was filled with them. Every wall Bella looked at, there was Luke's mom plastered, with a fake smile on.

It was no wonder he didn't visit, she thought, avoiding Veronica's judgy eyes and trying to make any sense of the floorplan. Not even halfway through, though, she gave up. The place was a maze.

"And here's my old room," he finished up the tour, falling backwards on the gigantic bed and Bella stopped at the door, looking around. There was only one picture of his mom, sitting on the fireplace mantle. Veronica, glaring at the camera, one blurry hand out trying to block it.

Bella felt like she could almost hear the woman's exasperated "Lucas!"

Besides that, there were books. So many books, shelves littering the walls. Two posters with football players she didn't recognize, a deep blue wall behind his bed, an abandoned PS4 console under the flat screen TV, one framed shirt that was signed.

"So?"

"Not messy enough to be yours," she said, then crossed the room to stand in front of him, "I'm surprised that I like it."

Luke wrapped his arms around her, leaning to rest his cheek on her chest, looking around, "it's not bad."

"Yeah, I was imagining something more... Kardashian," she teased him and could feel him grimace and scoff against her.

"Don't say that around dad unless you want a whole rant," he whispered, "c'mon, let's go say hi."

"...Your dad isn't home," she pulled back, "he's in the studio, you heard Mary."

"That's the basement level," Lucas stood up, running a hand through his hair and forcing a smile, "let me show you."

"Has Luke shown you the tapes yet?" Kit asked, lazily sprawled on his big chair, while Lucas sat in front of him and Bella dug through a box filled with old vinyl's.

She hated that they had so many good ones.

"The tapes?" She said, at the same time Luke whined:

"Dad, noooo-"

"Oh yeah, the tapes," Kit sounded so smug, getting up and opening a big black cabinet across the studio. Bella turned her body so she could get a better view and noticed there were multiple black folders, with white labels, stacked side by side. At least twenty filling up the whole cabinet.

Kit grabbed the 5th one, unzipped it and then flipped through the pages where white CDs with black markings were slotted in. Bella raised her eyebrows, shocked by the sheer amount of music.

"Here," the older man slid a CD out, then fed it to his sound system, folding his hands behind his back, while Luke let out a groan.

The song was mellow, with just an acoustic guitar and a drummer far in the background. Bella frowned, looking at Lucas all puzzled, only to widen her eyes as the first lyrics started and a very familiar voice sung it.

Luke, except his voice wasn't as deep, much breathier.

"Is that you!?"

"He recorded it all on his own," Kit sounded so proud, "his mother wouldn't let me include it in the album, though, and Lucas refuses to let me release it now."

"It's embarrassing," Luke's face was all red, "I was thirteen."

"Can I get a copy of that?" Bella asked, smiling so much her cheeks hurt, "has Jonah heard it before?"

"NO," Lucas glared at her, and she wasn't sure which question he was answering, probably both.

"I'll get a copy done for you, Bella," Kit smiled at her and Bella felt her disdain for the man fade just a little bit. Not much, just a tad.

Inside Lisa and Eddie Munson's Bel Air Home | Open Door | Architectural Digest

note: this is the first thing I've ever posted please be nice. Lisa is an OC I'm planning to write an introduction to her character tomorrow or later today. As well as all their children, and their SO

-The video starts with Eddie and Lisa opening their front door-

“Hey, what are you doing out here? Come on in.” Eddie says, opening the door wider for the cameraman. 

-Video cuts to b-role of their mansion-

“This is our entryway, and walking this way we have our living room. We don’t have a ‘formal’ living space. Just because we knew we would never use it, and we’re not really ‘formal’ people.” Lisa says leading the tour. 

“We actually built this house, Lisa planned and designed it all with a team. I just sat back and answered when she asked my opinions on flooring, only for her to just choose the one she likes.”

“Hey, you made me sound controlling, you liked all my choices.”

“Yes, I did.”

-Video cuts to them in the kitchen-

“This is our kitchen and dining space is just right over here. We wanted the dining to be very close to the kitchen, we didn’t want it to be its own space. Because Eddie and the girls would sit there while I was slaving over the stove.”

“Don’t listen to her, I offer every night, and she’ll accept, but just make me cut garlic, or something. Then she’d say I’m not doing it right and take over.”

“That is actually very true, but I do like cooking, and I can only cook alone. And this was the part of the house I didn’t ask Eddie any questions, to answer wrong. Because I had a clear vision of what I wanted in here. But when I showed him the blue tile I picked, I had to ask him to really trust me.”

“And it paid off, this room we get the most compliments on. Then we have my favourite thing Lisa added to this house. The breakfast nook, this is something I never would have thought of, but I love it.”

“I’ve always wanted a breakfast nook growing up, one of my childhood friends had one, and I was so jealous, so I knew when designing this house I had to add one.”

-Cuts to Ed and Lisa walking outside onto their deck-

“This is our backyard.” Eddie says, throwing his arms out.

“These arched windows are one of my favorite parts of the house, I think they just add so much interest, in such a simple way. Then we have our pool that toddler Alice asked for, when designing. Then around here we have a hot tub that Eddie asked for. And my contributions to this backyard are the green and blue tiles in the pool and hot tub, I really love tiles and these came from Greece, I just love them.”

-Video cuts to Eddie and Lisa at the staircases-

“We’re going to leave downstairs for last, because I think it’s the most exciting part of the house..”

-Cuts to them in the upstairs hallway-

“If you look up, we have a huge skylight that goes through to the main floor too.” 

“Actually I think this is my favourite part of the house, during thunder storms and such, us and the girls would lay here and watch.”

-Cuts-

“We have two guest rooms up here, that used to be nurseries, all the girls lived in one of these rooms at one point or another.”

They walk into the hall bath.

“All our bathrooms, except for the ones on the main level, have two sinks, witch is very important when you have five daughters.” Eddie says

“This is my second favourite bathroom in the house. I just love the round walls. And the pink in here.”

“Because this was going to be the girls’ bathroom we let them pick the colours, and they of course picked pink.”

-Cuts to Eddie and Lisa in their bedroom-

“So this is our room. We have a lot of jewel tones in here, and with the sunlight we get in the morning it’s just gorgeous in here.” Lisa says, Eddie not knowing what Lisa is talking about with the colours, nods nonetheless. Because it is gorgeous in here.

“And we have our deck, we would sit out here, and we could watch the kids playing, running around, in their tree house.”

-Cuts to their bathroom-

“Now this is Lisa’s favourite bathroom.”

“Yes, this room we redid recently, and I love it. It’s very yellow in here, and when I told Eddie I wanted yellow he said no, but then I showed him this rich golden yellow, he fell in love.”

-Cuts to them at the bottom of the stairs-

“Now for what we have been waiting to show you, downstairs.” Eddie says quickly walking down the stairs.

“We walk right into the girl’s floor, once the girls were about 10 we moved them from upstairs down here. There are five bedrooms down here, a living room, ‘dining’ room, and kitchenette.”

“And going in here is the bathroom. We really had to think about how we wanted to design this bathroom, because building this house we knew all the girls would be mainly using this bathroom. So we designed it to have two sinks, a tinted shower, and a toilet in a second room.”

“You can ask any of our girls they’ll tell you they never even used the locks on these doors. No matter who was in here, they all would come and go while they got ready.”

-Cuts to the couple in the kitchenette-

“We used the same tile, and countertop as in the main kitchen. And they had a fridge, sink, and microwave down here. And the girls were responsible for cleaning this floor, we would take care of upstairs, but this was theirs.”

“Thank goodness we had girls and not boys, or this floor would be unusable.” 

-Cuts to the couple in their front door-

“Thank you AD, but we have to go now, we’re busy people.” Lisa says, while Eddie closes the door.

Morrowind Architectural Digest: House Tours

(this week we visit the Nerevarine herself, Sylvie, and her country manor Ohishiran in Molag Ruhn. Formerly a den of slave-trading bandits, this ancient Velothi tower is now a gorgeous retreat for a modern lady with far too much money)

"The first thing I did, after driving out the bandits and killing all the rats in the basement, was hang a proper welcome banner outside the front door. I wanted to make it clear to passers-by that they're allowed and encouraged to stop by for a drink, unless they're ash zombies."

"Honestly, the foyer barely needed any updates at all. All I did was add in a few tapestries and plants, plus a bit more lighting, and it was perfect. Side note, did the ancient Dunmer just hate windows? Someone should look into that."

"I've got a great little area to display interesting weapons I've gathered but can't be bothered to use...and yes, that's a painting of a betty netch. They're adorable."

"My dining room table might not seem all that fascinating, but see those green goblets? Those are punavit glasses, made for consuming a liquor only available to high-ranking Indoril. Punavit itself is disgusting and makes your ears ring for hours, but the goblets are amazing. You can't buy these in shops, but luckily, I have no qualms about stealing from slaveholding Indoril.

And yes, the Ebonheart Bellman's latest headline is about yours truly."

"The fireplace was imported from Skyrim, the painting was done by an artist in Balmora, and the ebony vases definitely didn't come from Tholer Andas' manor in Andothren."

"I turned this little area into my craft room, complete with a mannequin for displaying my most interesting clothes."

"When I first got here, there was some poor Argonian chap being held prisoner in the basement. I freed him, obviously, and turned the cell into a charming guest room for if he ever decides to come back and visit."

"My home office is where I write strongly worded letters to politicians and create weird potions."

"My bedroom is another area where I barely needed to make any changes, except this little washing-up area here. Isn't the mirror with cat ears adorable? I got it as a gift from a Khajiiti prince.'

Even Lindsay Lohan Can't Resist the Latest Must-Have Crib

Lindsay Lohan, who announced in March that she's expecting her first child, just gave Architectural Digest a sneak peek of her nursery. We've already been loving Lohan's pregnancy style, and now her nursery decor is also giving us major inspiration. According to AD, Lohan partnered with baby furniture brand Nestig to create an ocean breeze-inspired nursery - and she totally nailed the airy nautical vibes. Her nursery features a mural of a soothing seascape, complete with a sailboat, a lighthouse, and plenty of peaceful waves that's easy to mistake for actual paint, but is actually wallpaper sold by Nestig. Ashley Tisdale (you might remember her from High School Musical) toured her lovely LA home with Architectural Digest and it inspired me to replicate it - sort of - in the sims.

A young couple’s recently renovated brownstone in Upper Manhattan, whose 1898 Renaissance Revival façade gives way to timeless architecture and decor. Original woodwork, much of it cleverly reworked, sets the stage for a trove of vintage and antique furnishings.

The living area features vintage furnishings, among them a Chesterfield sofa and Art Deco armchairs that were recovered. The fireplace combines old (the firebox, the wood chimneypiece) with new (the stone trim).

Glass pocket doors can close off the kitchen from the adjacent dining and living areas. The doorway framework was created using salvaged molding.

The kitchen’s far wall is paneled in woodwork that was taken from elsewhere in the home, including window shutters that now serve as accordion-style door fronts to a discreet TV cabinet.

The bed was crafted to incorporate columns salvaged during construction.

Mirrored closet doors wrap the wife’s dressing room, where a portrait of her grandmother hangs above a new marble mantlepiece. On display is the same dress that appears in the painting.

The en suite bath features paned shower doors.

A scenic wallpaper enlivens the son’s room, which is partly paneled in salvaged window shutters from the house.

The guest room functions as a bachelor pad of sorts for close friends of the couple.

A built-in bookshelf in the family room swings open to reveal a striped powder room; mock hinges add to the camouflage. The door to the left was salvaged from the house’s original butler’s pantry.

Also in the family room, a vintage card table; antique carved-wood Venetian chairs from the clients’ collection; a vintage pendant light and antique mirror panel.

architectural digest's tour of nancy meyers' home (25 june 2022): sometimes people live in my dream home, and sometimes that person is nancy meyers. a little while back the internet was obsessed with her two kitchen islands kitchen, which is how i ended up following her on instagram, and now i must covet her entire domicile.

stranger things season 4 (netflix): did everyone else hate the last two episodes? i quickly scrolled past a couple of posts before i realised what was going on and slapped a filter up, but i feel like that's what i was quickly scrolling past. anyway, the thing i hated was probably different from what you hated: you know that thing that happens in american movies only, where some psycho with a weapon shows up thinking he knows better than everyone else, interrupts something very important, and the important thing cannot be done because they're too busy having to punch the guy who thinks he knows better than everyone else until he just stops. you know that thing? fuck i hate that thing. i was having a really nice time until that guy showed up.

this might be a weird thing to talk about but i trust you to not judge me lmao. but i’m SO interested in what dylan’s house/apartment looks like, not in the wanting to know his address way but in the way that i wanna see what pictures he has up and what colors the walls are painted. like whenever he does interviews from home i look at the background, not in a creepy way (i think lmao) but i just like to see his decor y’know, i’m a hoe for some nice decor. and from what i’ve seen he’s got pretty good taste for a single 30 year old guy, like his house looks so pretty with all the foliage in the backyard and his couch looks comfy af, and i love the brick walls of his ny apartment (which i NEED to see more of). if he ever does one of those architectural digest house tours i swear i’ll nut

I DROOOL FOR ARCHITECTUAL DIGEST!

I saw one of Aaron Paul's rustic cabin/cottage place and I thought I was going to die. If Dylan did a house tour with them, I too would nut on the spot.

I don't think it's weird to have a curiosity about his aesthetic tastes. I like seeing him in his space too (not only because it's neat to see how he chooses to keep things, but also because he's more comfortable).

His place in L.A. seems very airy, like it has a lot of natural light. Big windows, and high ceilings. It must be very relaxing. He also seems to appreciate a lot of natural textures. Beams in the ceiling, brick, hardwood finishing, etc. His New York place is very industrial. Exposed brick and metallic fixtures. He seems pretty minimalist in both spaces. There's nothing flashy of extravagant. It's very him. Understated, but also pleasing?

There's a video he recorded for Ariana Greenblatt for her birthday where he's walking around outside of what I assume is his place in L.A., and even his outdoor space is cozy and inviting. It's very nice while not looking like "too much".

Dylan does seem to have pretty good taste, at least in my opinion. It's how I like to keep my space. I want it to look nice, but be functional for me, so it's nice to see that despite having the means to be EXTRA, he's not. As is the case in all aspects of his life.

We stan. No judgement here, anon! And yes. Very comfy lookin' couch. Would sit on 100%... on his lap, or the couch ;)
