Japanese Ruikasa AU's: A Comprehensive (?) Guide

There are a lot of Rui/Tsukasa AU’s 類司 (派生/derivation or パロ/parody, or both sometimes) in the Japanese fandom, this is a showcase of almost all of them.

A note that the order of names in the ship matters a LOT in fandom spaces in the eastern side, you’ll often, if not always, find artists’ socials with 🎈🌟左右固定 or 🎈🌟🔄❌ in their bio or in their profile cards. All will be in Rui/Tsukasa order here. Listed in romanized alphabetical order.

Rui and Tsukasa need no introduction if you are already familiar with this game, but if you aren't, Rui and Tsukasa are characters from the rhythm game Project Sekai: Colorful Stage ft. Hatsune Miku (Brand New Your World). They’re from the Unit WonderlandsxShowtime, members of a freelance theater troupe with the goal of bringing smiles to the entire world with their performances. They’re also classmates and are often referred to by their classmates as the “Oddball 1, 2 Finish” (or “Weirdo Wombo Combo” as the official English localization goes) because they are a pair of show-passionate weirdos. They’ve also blown up a few things at their school more than once but that’s another story! Moving on with the actual AU's!

Rui's team Mirai Toshi de Acchi Kocchi (Wandering in the Futuristic City) sang another version of the song Akuma no Odorikata (悪魔の踊り方, Devil's Manner), originally a Vivid BAD SQUAD + RIN cover. Meanwhile, Tsukasa's team Warera Pegasus Tankentai! (We Are the Pegasus Exploration Team!) sang another version of the song Booo!, originally a More More Jump! + RIN cover. Their appearances showcased in both MV's laid the groundwork for this AU.

In the event's play, Danchou (Rui) is a Band Leader (translation of Danchou) from an orchestra who saw potential in Torpe (Tsukasa), a pianist that had issues playing the piano in front of others.

DeathPega only refers to their characters as Hero and Villain in the event's area conversations and introductory twitter posts, their appearances showcased in their respective MV's belong to a different AU.

From 2022's April Fool's limited event. In this April Fool's, Rui and Tsukasa live in alternative universe where they pair up with Akito and Touya to become world-class backstreet performers, creating the quartet FantasistaSQUAD. ファンスク is short for ファンタジスタスクワッド (FantasistaSQUAD) and ルツ is short for RuiTsukasa to help distinguish the pairing itself.

This is very specific. The names come from the characters Rui and Tsukasa play in their performance in At This Festival Tinged With Twilight's event. Rui here is using the March 2023 Mission Pass Men's Outfit titled "Devil move heart" and Tsukasa uses November 2021 Mission Pass Men's Outfit titled “EVIL ONE” because I've seen them represented with both outfits. Mostly “EVIL ONE”.

I can't find the fanart that started it all, but this one by HIA portrays the most used fanon rendition of them.

Thousands cheered over and over again, waiting to see events of the upcoming spectacle. 

As vibrant spotlights darkened throughout one large-scale arena, billowing mist scaled the entrance ramp this evening. 

Soon enough, haunted voices sang in unison and introduced vengeful music.

“No! Trouble has now arrived. Members of The Judgment Day are here.” Professional announcers trained eye contact forward. 

“There is an announcement.” Outright soldier Rhea Ripley stepped with her microphone as brightness pulled up every single corner. 

“Here we go.” Commentary awaited possible news from The Eradicator. 

“We…” Just as Ripley started, lights dropped once more and cheering wailed louder, then pulling confusion by galaxies this time around. 

“My goodness! What in the world is going on now?" Commentators didn't know what to believe. 

Raging alarms blared just to wake up this crowd and thoughts moved attention back to the known entrance. Fans would nearly scream again. 

All the while, one knowing grin curved Ripley's painted lips. 

When you finally turned that corner, the audience erupted beyond ovation. 

“What a bombshell tonight! For the first time since losing her crown at Wrestlemania, Smackdown's former Women's Champion has risen from the ashes and joined Raw. It's time to cross paths with members of Judgment Day!” Professionals expressed happiness right behind this table. 

“Phoenix!” Chanting welcomed this new arrangement when fans offered this unexpected nickname for your presence. You offered this genuine smile and nearly broke character while hugging Rhea. 

“Judgement Day has now become ten times stronger! We’ll return to the program after these messages.” Announcements lined up the commercial break.

“Ready for the Tag Team match?” Rhea questioned you during this new segment located backstage. 

“Of course.” You nodded, outright prepared to battle Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriquez this evening. 

“Excuse me.” One calming voice turned your attention once member Damian Priest entered this space. 

“What’s going on? We have to fight soon.” Rhea stood. 

“I know, but Phoenix and I should really talk for a second.” Damian would offer your new nickname.

“All right.” Rhea traded one final glance and moved elsewhere for your private moment with Damian, quietly looking out for you no matter what.

“Do you feel better?” Damian offered kindness as his smooth voice calmed down your nerves upon this new chapter. 

“Much better.” You answered. The long hiatus from wrestling revealed clarity that no one else could understand, not even internet trolls. “Thank you for helping.” 

“You’re welcome.” Damian quickly stopped talking. 

“What?” Almost laughing, you noticed one “special” glint that reached his perfect eyes as Priest sat on the couch. 

“Nothing.” His New York accent teased for a moment. 

“Don’t start.” Smirking near Damian this time around, you definitely caught on. “Rhea and I have work to do.” 

“So do I.” Priest chuckled right back. 

“Priest? Let me go.” You warned again, jokingly rolling your eyes before the Tag Team match would kick off tonight.

“And now: the following contest is a Women’s Division Tag Team Match!” Announcements started your first duel taking place on “Raw.” “Representing Judgement Day is Rhea Ripley and Phoenix!” 

Joining Rhea as expected, comradery heightened as you watched Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriquez lurked this space. 

“Let’s go.” You winked towards Ripley. Sooner than later, the famous bell rang out three times, sending your motion right back into place. 

All or nothing! Your thoughts began to raged from within and you couldn’t disappoint anyone else.

Liv charged quite the fight as you each traded chaos back and forth, but Rhea kept waiting to switch moments now. 

“Phoenix has some trouble tonight because Liv Morgan just rolled up to cover!” Commentator explained your next issue. 

“Get out. You can do it!” Rhea almost panicked. Liv had just covered your body during one pin and you struggled. 

“1-2..Phoenix kicked out, ladies and gentlemen!” Announcers welcomed your second chance here. “The former Women’s Champion of Smackdown might gain energy back.” 

Just before tagging Rhea for this match, you leveled footing once more, but quickly grounded yourself and sprinted right away, wrapping both legs around Morgan to land the Hurricanrana! 

“Wow! Phoenix turned an old surprise and handed Ripley some time with the fray.”  Thousands roared while commentators brightened several thoughts.

“Go!” You encouraged Ripley from the sides of this match. “Get Raquel and it’s over. We’re close.” 

“One last scuffle kicked off between Ripley and Rodriquez tonight.” Announcers kept playing out this night. “Which Tag Team will stand victorious?” 

“Let’s go, bitch! C’mon.” As your excitement fueled Rhea’s chaos, production limits would never stand chances against your trash talk. 

“Rhea Ripley lands an amazing Riptide and has just scrambled for the cover!” Announcers pulled the big finale as you shouted for your partner. “1-2-3..there it is, everyone. Phoenix and The Eradicator just won their very first Tag Team Match for The Judgement Day!” 

Dashing back into the ring, you almost jumped on camera before hugging Rhea and nearly sobbed in her arms, grateful for this moment. 

“I’m so fucking proud of you!” Ripley’s Australian base promised the world once subtitles picked back up here. “You’ll always have us.” 

“Thank you.” You nodded, almost rocking the hug back and forth on camera when other members of the Judgement Day arrived to celebrate. 

“Don’t cry.” No matter what, Priest still calmed down your own tears as this brief smile reached his lips. 

Despite this well-deserved celebration, one calling term shook up the entire broadcast out of nowhere. 

“USO!” Lights flickered through all directions as everyone turned their heads and cheering could’ve shattered the world. 

Your “brothers” Jimmy and Jey Uso rolled out, capturing excitement from the audience until hype faded away. 

“Look. Everybody already knows who Judgement Day is, but I got one question: what's up, Sis?” Facing your path, Jimmy took the microphone first, but Jey locked eye contact once silence reached his own voice. 

“Woo!” Fans would start cheering out loud once more as you stood near Rhea and Damian tonight. 

Despite holding that microphone after winning this big-time match, you looked on and waited first. 

“Haven’t seen you in a while. Couldn’t return to Smackdown, either?” Serious for once, Jimmy pulled strings, but you never flinched. 

“Draft moved out of my control.” You defend yourself without expressing anger because there’s no other choice. 

“Pulled this new family, brought some new drip, and found another theme song.” Jimmy went on about you and snapped his fingers. “Damn! You dropped The Bloodline just like that.” 

“I never dropped y’all.” Emotions pulled your voice. 

“No phone calls, not text messages, no FaceTime. Nothing. Just crickets.” Jimmy counted your silence once more. 

“Everyone knows why.” Your steps moved toward Jimmy and Rhea almost turned as well, but, Damian looped his arm around your shoulder. 

“Hold on. What’s that, Damian? She’s my sister.” Jimmy almost scrunched up his face when noticing your body language with Damian Priest. Even Jey didn’t know what to think. 

“This can’t be happening!” While commentators gasped from this announcement table, bouts of realization washed over fans. 

“Aw, hell no! You hooked up with my sister?!” Thinking of you as he faced Damian, Jimmy couldn’t hold back one glaring question anymore. Shock reached thousands all over again. 

“Listen, man. We’re close, Jimmy.” Damian finally spoke this time around when you passed the microphone. 

“No! Listen to me. Jimmy kept going, frustrated beyond words. “You should be glad that Roman ain’t here right now. He’d swerve this ring! Tell the truth before I knock your ass out!” 

“Tensions pulled higher, ladies and gentlemen.” Even commentators worried as Jimmy and Priest sized each other up. 

“I love her.” Damian dropped his microphone in this ring and walked off about you, leaving the segment altogether.

a smile came to jacob at roman's words, and despite saying nothing in the moment, it was all that was on his mind as he got ready. how amazing roman looked, how amazing he always looked and it left him just smiling like a goofball as well as thinking how lucky he was to get to get close to someone like roman. he was amazing, beautiful and interesting in every way. these thoughts stayed with him as he showered, not letting his mind think of any of their sexual encounters - and there was a lot. they first met and were all over each other a couple times. they only then hung out at one event in which jacob finally got to see roman for more than someone beautiful man he slept with.

finishing up his shower and pulling on his nicer outfit, making sure he looked his best, drying his hair, styling it and making sure his facial hair looked nice. brushing his teeth before taking a couple deep breathes and then stepping out of the bathroom, making his way to the living room area, standing by the front door, patiently waiting for roman. all jacob did in this moment was not let his mind wander and not get too into the idea of what was about to happen. taking roman phoenix out on a date seemed like a silly little dream to jacob, but now it was almost a reality. inside he was a bit giddy about it all.

——- Roman knew right away what was happening and he was flushed, heart racing some and he kept himself composed. it was clear he was falling for jacob, catching feelings but he wasn't mentally there for a relationship. he's in a line of sexual work, he's hooking up with people at bars — sure jacob was his favourite and most frequent, but he wasn't sure he was ready for something committed and exclusive. if his heart and gut said anything — it was take a chance. so the least he figured was he could perhaps see this idea through, process after and then go from there. a smirk crossed roman's lips as well, giving a nod at the request. ❝ i've got a shit ton of button downs and i can go with some ripped black jeans, maybe some dr martens. ❞ he shared before jacob's lips ear near his ear, a small piece begging for a nibble on his earlobe, but he held back saying anything. though what was whispered in a sexual slight seductive manner almost made him want to skip out on the potential date for the after math. hearing clothing ripping in his ears — fuck, it was getting him aroused already. to hold himself from any noises or begging, he just bit his lower lip seductively and gave a nod. it was a bit of a struggle to open his hazel green eyes, but once he did jacob was getting his clothing and roman just watched like it was the most beautiful thing alive. ❝ alright, darling. we can give this a try. ❞ watching his lover? leave, roman went ahead and got his own outfit pulled together before getting a shower himself. getting under dressed, turning on the water and letting it roll over his pale tatted and nude body. letting out a sigh as he relax some, washing himself up head to toe before getting out, drying off and dressing himself and getting a look at himself in the mirror after. fingering through his black dyed hair, taking a deep breathe, a smile flashing over him before exiting the bathroom. roman was eager for this date, despite his dating fears.

'From the First Note' and 'Carry the Weight' served as the first tracks that the band released since singer Kyle Pavone's tragic passing in August 2018.

"'FTFN' is a song the celebrates the time that we got to spend with Kyle and acknowledges how truly remarkable of a brother and bandmate he was," says Moore. "Lyrically, I was able to reference 'To Plant a Seed and 'Tracing Back Roots,' -which were both written about the start of the band and how we lived together. I was able to take Kyle's recorded vocal from 'TPA' and fit it into the bridge of the song, so we can always hear him when we listen and play it."

"We wrote 'From The First Note' as a promise to Kyle to not only preserve the amazing moments and memories we had together, but to continue carrying on the legacy of everything we built together," says Glass. "The video portrays the band playing in a dream-like state, surrounded by beautiful colors and flowers. Our albums throughout the years have had themes of roots, branches, and overall growth. The band will also embark on an 10th anniversary tour celebrating their landmark, 2009-released album To Plant A Seed. The tour kicks off on March 5 in Chicago and runs through April 11 in Pontiac, Michigan, and will feature support from The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon and Dayseeker. All dates are below.

To Plant A Seed was a definitive sonic statement for We Came As Romans and remains a fan favourite to this day. It's only fitting that the band commemorate the release.

"We're really excited to announce the 10-year anniversary tour for our first record To Plant A Seed," said Moore at the time tour was announced. "Being able to watch our fans connect with us through music over the last decade has been an amazing privilege, and it all started with To Plant A Seed. Way back in 2009 when we recorded it, we had no idea where it would take us or what we were really even doing, and it's awesome to see that we can play these songs still, and feel that connection with you."

He continued, "But over the course of 10 years, we've released four other albums and we're even working on a fifth! With that being said, we are going to be throwing these songs into the vault of old WCAR — and retiring them from all future setlists after this tour. So make sure you grab your tickets and come hear these songs one last time live."
