Matt from Tamagotchi Center Interviewed at Hakata Bandai Namco Cross by Fukuoka Local TV
Tumblr media
Tamagotchi Center hits the big screen! If you’re not already familiar with Tamagotchi Center, Matt runs an impressive website with a bunch of modifications that are extremely impressive. Matt from Tamagotchi Center has been visiting Japan and made a stop at the new Tamagotchi Shop inside the Bandai Namco Cross Store in Hakata.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Matt just so happened to be there while a Fukoka local TV film crew was there. The film crew was interviewing the Koga, the Bandai Namco Cross Store employee as she showcased a new Tamagotchi devices including the new Tamagotchi Uni.
Tumblr media
As Matt was in the store he show the film crew how big of a Tamagotchi fan he was, and that he had taken apart a Tamagotchi Uni. Once they heard this they wanted him in from to the camera talking to the two hosts. Matt was able to introduce himself, “Matt, Tamagotchi Center”, how iconic, and speak with the hosts.
The interviewer says, " We found an amazing person again!" Then, the man says, "He came from London, UK!" "What's your name?" He answers, "Matt, Tamagotchi Center." The interviewer says to the camera, "Look at this. Is it your Instagram?"
instagram
We do not have a video yet, nor do we know if and when this will be broadcasted. We sure do hope so! If you find the clip please be sure to share. Great work, Matt!

☆⋆。𖦹°‧★ -- FIVE ICONIC MOMENTS
after han finished his solo scene, vivie screamed into the mix "that was the hottest thing i've seen all year" - she was referring to the part when Han pulled out his electric guitar.
when vivie was doing her solo performance, she took her outfit inspiration from saiki k and j-stays realised it so they started chanting it at they end of the performance and now j-stay call her saiki's wife (han did get a teensy weensy bit jealous)
during her solo stage, it started raining paper money with the face of vivie as the front cover, it was blue and cinnamon roll themed.
vivie managed to stumble on the moving stage but she landed in the kazuhua unforgiven crawl pose so she just gave up, did the kazuhua hair flip and continued to dance unforgiven.
when the minbin kiss happened, she yelled into the crowd saying "that will be me and jisung next" - she still holds the title of 'queen of delulu'

Oshima, Munakata, Fukoka, Japan - Spring 2021
There are several Oshimas in Japan, so they can just go ahead and rename this one I went to outside of Fukuoka as "Big Wind Island" because it was so incredibly windy. However, the wind is too strong for big modern turbines. The one pictured here is only for tourism. Interesting because I don't think there are any Dutch descendants on this island (one never knows for sure though).
This was one of the last excursions I took before leaving Japan, at least as a resident. I know I'll be back as a visitor. It just wasn't a long term place for me, for a number of reasons.
Most of the time I spent in Japan was at the height of the pandemic, limiting most travel within Japan and virtually none outside of it. There were pros and cons to this. The cons being I didn't see nearly as much of the country as I would have liked. There were no harsh lockdowns just strongly worded "please stay in your province and please do not go to crowded areas." So, I stayed home.
There was one benefit of living in a (semi) closed Japan (nationals were allowed back from overseas trips of course and were really not monitored as much as the foreign residents, something that really bothered me at the time). After the vaccine was distributed in Japan, they loosened up some of the travel guidelines for trips within the country. After I got my two doses, I did go on some solo trips and focused primarily on going out into nature when I did travel.
Going to these places without the usual flood of tourists felt like getting a VIP backstage tour. It was great to see Kyoto in the autumn without as many crazy tourists, though I did still kept caution and avoided really busy places as best I could (there were still a fair amount of domestic tourists). I'm sure someone would say I was still being irresponsible, and that is fair, but since 90% or more of the elderly population was fully vaccinated (they were prioritized), and there were no unmasking tourists, it felt relatively safe (all things considered).
However, I think going forward more places like these little islands should be getting more tourists promotions. Communities like these are dying out as more and more people go into the cities. But there's so much that extends beyond the two major cities that everyone visits in Japan. It's just a shame to see them go overlooked.

Wellbrock…

Seperti baru bangun tidur
Fukoka senja ini
menepiskan gerimis di kaca jendela
aku tahu, ini bukan pengembaraan terakhir
kaki-kaki harapan harus tetap dilangkahkan
sekadar mencari jejak-jejak kebahagiaan
Fukoka, Mei 2019

Haversack SS21 Lookbook
If you’ve been following me for a while, chances are you’ve seen me share my passion for Haversack, a contemporary Japanese label headed by designer Koji Nori. While I usually resonate with Japanese brands due to their unique interpretation of historical fashion movements and styling influences, there’s just something special about Haversack.
Within its collections, the brand is able to coherently mix such distinct styles such as military, utilitarian, traditional Japanese, Preppy, Americana and tailoring, to create what they describe as “modern vintage”. This fresh approach results in extremely appealing and eclectic collections that always manage to amaze me and keep coming back for more.
Unusual silhouettes are paired with more traditional staples to create visually appealing looks, always brilliantly styled, where proportions. plays on length, volume and pattern come together brilliantly. The last look is a perfect example: slim khakis paired with a long tunic, a v-neck jumper and plaid short jacket, creating several visual references in the same look.

Human beings usually see life and death in a rather short perspective. What meaning can the birth of spring and the death of autumn have for this grass? People think that life is joy and death is sadness, but the rice seed, lying within the earth and sending out shoots in spring, its leaves and stems withering in the fall, still holds within its tiny core the full joy of life. The joy of life does not depart in death. Death is no more than a momentary passing. Wouldn’t you say that this rice, because it possesses the full joyousness of life, does not know the sorrow of death?
The same thing that happens to rice and barley goes on continuously within the human body. Day by day hair and nails grow, tens of thousands of cells die, tens of thousands more are born; the blood in the body a month ago is not the same blood today. When you think that your own characteristics will be propagated in the bodies of your children and grandchildren, you could say that you are dying and being reborn each day, and yet will live on for many generations after death.
If participation in this cycle can be experienced and savored each day, nothing more is necessary. But most people are not able to enjoy life as it passes and changes from day to day. They cling to life as they have already experienced it, and this habitual attachment brings fear of death. Paying attention only to the past, which has already gone, or to the future, which has yet to come, they forget that they are living on the earth here and now. Struggling in confusion, they watch their lives pass as in a dream.
