It was 11:50 PM. The class project was due in nine minutes, but it was hard for me to focus while working next to the beautiful girl. Her project was also almost finished, but a voice rang over the intercom.

“Good evening,” Dr. Gradepocolypse croaked. “To punish procrastinators, I will be cutting power to Metroville City! At midnight, my freeze ray with freeze your grades! If one student submits their work, I’ll consider myself defeated. Good luck!”

And then, the power was cut. The girl’s computer died. Panic ensued.

I pulled my bag of infinite potatoes closer. I wasn’t going to sit idly by like a couch potato – I was a member of the Super Hero Organization, and I was going to help.

Birthday zodiac project i did for my digital art class! . This is unfinished, im still need to finish shading & lineart coloring but due date came along & i turned it in like this. . 1. My Initial Thoughts (link: https://portfolio.adobe.com/)

For this class project, I choose to learn, use and review Adobe Portfolio, a site built to showcase your work in a variety of different styles. I chose this site as the focus of my project because, as an avid user of Adobe products and a design major, I need a place to upload and organize my artwork for future employers. While sites like Wix and Behance tend to be the most advertised model for portfolio builders, what drew me to Adobe Portfolio is how it is linked directly to your creative cloud account, making it easier to upload works from their other applications. I also look forward to seeing if the site is as user-friendly as their other products and if they share similar characteristics in some of their more creative features.

To give you my honest first impression of Adobe Portfolio, the homepage is clean, bright and easy to navigate. Along the top bar of the homepage were different tabs allowing me sign in to my creative cloud account in addition to giving me information like pricing and examples of people’s sites using this platform. Scrolling down, I was able to see a few of the different layouts offered as well as some of the features included in the site, like password protection, Adobe fonts, domain names, photo grids and many more. All in all, Adobe Portfolio gave me a great first impression. My initial thoughts of the platform are promising as it appears very user-friendly and easy to use, in addition to offering a variety of different and creative ways to display my work. I look forward to exploring the site more within this class project.

Here is my final version for the Myriad 2019 flyer design.

I ended up modifying the graphic to be at the top instead of the bottom. This allowed me to have a better space to include all the additional information (such as what submissions we are accepting, social media, website, etc.)

In the end, it wasn’t chosen as a finalist but I am reasonably happy with how it turned out.
