Why the fuck would he find other people to do the exact same shit with that he already does with Ian, minus the fucking, when he can just do that shit with Ian plus the fucking? It makes no sense. Or: Ian wants the two of them to have more friends. Mickey doesn’t.)

thirteen hours by @crossmydna (Ian has known for thirteen hours that he’s not crossing the border with Mickey, so he makes the most of the time he has left with him.)

queen of decatur by jaxington (“How’d you know that?” Ian asks, smelling chum in the water, the observant little fuck. “Not like your brothers are getting sent to lady prison all that often.” Mickey thumbs at his lip, trying to find a way out of this conversation. It probably wouldn’t be too hard to distract Ian just by taking of his pants, but he is trying this new thing where he actually tells Ian what’s going on in his head. “No.” He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “It’s my mom.”)

Ian's head was on fire and all he knew was how to run and keep running. How to find a cliff and jump off. How to make Mickey chase after him, again and again. And in a cold cell in prison, Mickey catches him.)

And look, Mickey always knew that if the Gallaghers had a will they'd find a way, but being roped into their schemes himself wasn't something he'd planned on signing on for. All the Gallaghers need to know is Mickey's helping out because he's not pure fucking evil. They don't need to know Mickey was scared shitless when Ian got knocked unconscious, Jesus, he can barely admit that to himself. Once Mickey knows Ian's not dead and not dying, he's out of there. Except he can't bring himself to leave.)

Mickey is sitting in the corner of the bedroom on the comfiest fucking chair he’s ever sat in, and his adult self and adult Ian are about to fuck. And he’s going to watch. But then some dramatic, ginger fuckhead had to move into the room next to his, and steal his hole, his heart, and the attention of his tumblr mutuals. Mickey decides to keep it lowkey when he asks Ian to spend the evening together: You wanna hang out on Tuesday? Ian’s response is quick and gives absolutely nothing away: Sure thing! That big-dicked idiot better remember it’s fucking Valentine’s Day.)

Despite the voice in the back of his head telling him to disengage, he can’t help but bite off more than he can chew, running straight back to the spot and the stranger when a job leaves him injured. Enter: the Prelude Motel - where, for the next three days, Mickey finds himself hiding from more than just his pursuers.)

Ian fights for the love they shared while Mickey fights for the life he built, as they both struggle with shame and guilt from their shared past it becomes clear that they cannot help but be drawn to what is bright and beautiful between them.)

Practically lived in the prison library, and what better way to start his new life than with a career he might actually enjoy. And when he meets the charming, clever, utterly fuckable, redheaded children’s librarian, well, shit just keeps getting better and better. Mickey’s definitely not interested in anything serious right now, but what’s the harm in a little fun?)

electric blue by @goodkwuestion (Paramedic Ian Gallagher knows true love exists. He's not going to settle until he finds it either, no matter how much his friends and family roll their eyes at him. Mickey Milkovich, on the other hand, isn't sure about all that stuff. He's an engineer with a long to-do list, and chasing rainbows isn't on it. He'll never say no to a good time and a pretty face though. When they meet, it will feel like kismet, something inevitable that neither of them can shake. Honestly though, who would want to? i sent this to another blog to but I wanna start a conversation/ask about the absolute must read/legendary fics in the shameless/gallavich fandom. every fandom has at least one fic everyone knows about for some reason and i'm really curious as to what the ones in this community look like and why they're popular

I've already read Cooperative Gameplay which was just like, The Fine Art of Falling for You, you'll never see us again, and some smaller ones but I was wondering if there were more or if people just had thoughts on them

personally i really liked the modern vibe of Cooperative Gameplay and how it had a good take on a dynamic that could've been really, really unhealthy. Like, at first glance, youtuber!mickey/fan!ian shouldn't of worked well? but it did and I liked it and it was beautiful

i can ramble about the other two as well but i could probably go on for a while so i wont for now

hi, yes! i love to talk fic. i am BEHIND on my current reading list, but there are certainly some that i'd consider fandom classics. and i encourage everyone to chime in with their own recs!

if you've read CG and FAFFY, then i hope you've also checked out these authors' other fics! they are also classics in their own right. gray has LRPD, and @goodkwuestion of course has TIPDIG among many others, and our lovely @spoonfulstar has ITQD.

📚 THEME REVEAL ♥️

This has never been done before but we here at Gallacrafts are innovators first and foremost. We're revealing two months' themes at once!

The overall vibe is a love letter to our fave fanfics (bless AO3, long may you reign). Too much inspiration to fit into one month, so we're breaking it into two separate themes:

February - Theme 18 - Short King - Crafts based on a one-shot

March - Theme 19 - Big Fic Energy - Crafts based on a multi-chap. You might need more time for this one so you basically get a month!

I've been a long time lurker, just lacking the confidence to join in alot...Lately all of @callivich posts of encouragement for new fans and lurkers like myself has got me wanting to be more active. I lack the skills to write or make gifs but am so appreciative of everyones efforts in this fandom. It brings me such joy each day when I open up my tumblr and see all of your talented creations.

So I decided to do the intro......

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? I was late to the fandom. I started watching Shameless during Covid and binge watched the first 9 seasons in 2 months. It was tougth to then have to wait for the last two seasons. It's hard to explain what I first liked about them but they just made me happy. I loved watching them together. They were raw and real and not perfect.

How long have you been a fan? Fan since 2020

Favourite Gallavich Moment / Scene ? This is so hard! what to pick? I like the dugouts scene when Mickey gets out of Juvie - the way they flirt and look at each other. I love the way their eyes roam all over each other in the bleachers scene in Season 7. I love all of their kisses.... I could keep going.

Favourite Shameless character apart form Ian and Mickey? I think Kev. He has some great dialogue with different characters in the show.

Do you write or draw or make edits? No I'm afraid. That is not where my talents lie. But I absolutely love all of the talented people in this fandom and their creations.

Favourite type of Gallavich fics? This has changed over time. I was very rigid when I started reading fics and thought I would only like certain types. Over time as I saw more and more recs (thank you @gallavichfanficlibrary ) I tried all types and fell in love.I love a good slow burn, strangers to friends to lovers fic.

Favourite Gallavich quote? "I wanna be where you are Mickey" , "I love you", "I know, I love you too"

Anything else you'd like to share about yourself? Not much to say, I'm a simple girl. I guess just that even though I am a lurker I really do appreciate this fandom. It genuinely got me through Covid, living on my own. It also brings me such joy every day.

Hi! Do you have any good (kinky af) gallavich book suggestions from Ao3?

I assume by book you mean fic?

I'm not the best with fic suggestions (also, I think the concept of "good fic" varies a lot from person to person), so allow me to just redirect your ask to @gallavichficfinds and @gallavichfanficlibrary; they've both got a very organized system that should help you find what you want.

Also, I'm putting this in the tags in case anyone has more suggestions (please, feel free).

I do have to say though, that the easiest way is probably to just search AO3 for what you want? If you don't know how to do that, it's easy. Once you open AO3, click Fandom > Shameless US. Then, in the sort and filter sidebar, under the Include section, select Explicit under Ratings and Ian Gallagher/Mickey Milkovich under Relationships. You can also type any additional things, like kinks, you would like to see under the Other part (suggestions will come up) and you can choose to sort by kudos or comments on the top. And, of course, you can use the Exclude section for anything you don't want to see.

(If you already knew all that, disregard this, I just explained it because there are always people who are new to AO3 and don't know how to use the search).

Oh, and of course, keep an eye out for everything that's about to come out of the Kinktober.

Where are you located?

What season is it where you are now? I think winter? it sure is fucking cold !

Favourite tradition this time of year: I always go surfing with my brother on christmas when we are home, real christmas for me has always been about a bright, warm sunny day at the beach with my family

Favourite holiday food:  usually we make seared ahi or steaks for Christmas dinner, so those two

Mulled wine, eggnog or hot apple cider?: mulled wine!! delish

Turkey, Ham or Nut Roast (Or Tofurkey?)? respectfully as fuck, bleh to all three, i dont think ive ever even heard of a nut roast. but we might make a crispy pork belly

Would you rather spend the December holidays in:  A cabin in the woods surrounded by snow, or a house on the beach with sun and sand?: EASY! Im already flying home to the beach for christmas

Are you pro-snow or anti-snow? very pro snow, if its going to be cold it better fucking snow, otherwise its just cold for what?

Have you ever built a snowman? yes, it was one of my first to do's when i got here, i built a tiny little snowman outside my dorm

Skiing or Snowboarding? neither! ice skating

Do you decorate for the holidays? This has been the first year that I got a little christmas tree for my apartment, it makes waking up in the dark mornings a lot easier

Favourite holiday movie? I love the grinch and elf, and i count edward scissorhands as a christmas movie and usually my family will watch one of the harry potter movies lets throw in a dog named christmas, just for fun

It's kinda wierd to me that there's so little fic or stuff addressing That Moment On The Bridge. Y'know, before the car crash.

Hi anon, I think it’s because it’s quite a difficult subject. It’s heavy and angsty and I think subjects like that can always be a bit intimidating to writers sometimes. I think it’s a very interesting moment to explore but I can understand why a lot of people haven’t. Also, I know a lot of fics got deleted. I’m not sure if the timeframe matches up to when people were deleting but it’s possible that there were more fics about this but they are gone.
