What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

anyway... i've spent a couple hours this afternoon starting my quest to document every goal 1634 have factored in on together here if anyone is curious.

a few fun facts:

they played basically never together at 5v5 in 16-17 (and 17-18 and from what i can tell so far basically 18-19 too)

mitch and auston's first goal they ever recorded a point on together was a late line change that got mitch a secondary assist on a patty marleau goal :')

babcock must have REALLY hated the idea of them together bc even though they scored 2 goals together to end a game in november 2017, they never really were put on a consistent line or allowed to be on the same pp unit... the sheer low amount of minutes they played together feels like an actual concerted effort tbh

they factored into 0 goals together in the 2016-2017 season

they factored into 4 goals together in the 2017-2018 season

now i'm working on the 2018-2019 season but if they surpassed the sittler/mcdonald record of 209 just this past week... they have been working OVERTIMEEE for years... auston on pace to keep setting records as a maple leaf goal scorer... it's funny to think he and mitch wanted to play together so much when they were rookie besties and now auston's got his own personal assist maker.

mitch has assisted over half his goals this year which really just begs the question of what they could have done together back then if they got to play together really ever those first 2-3 years. 1634 supremacy as always.... statistically and at heart <3

i remember seeing you say something about a first-person g/t horror game and i thought of this a while after!! i think i drew this two to three days ago?? i drew steren first then donatello;; but after that i realized that if i wanted it to be from the pov of steren looking up at him; i'd have to either redraw the entire thing ((i realized it only after i finished rendering)) or duplicate everything and use the transform thingy to fix the perspective and move the color layers to fit into the lineart :PP

They get on each other’s nerves every now and then, but that’s only because they spend so much time together. They’re close to the point where they’ll often barge into each other’s rooms unannounced—which has led to some… awkward situations, but it’s arguable only made them closer in the long run lmao

Sometimes their friendship is very chaotic, other times, it’s relatively chill. Like they’ll either set the forest on fire together (probably on accident?) or they’ll have a casual 9-hour gaming session in BEN’s room

They balance each other out really well, where Jeff will encourage BEN to get out and do stuff, and BEN will reel Jeff in when he’s getting out of hand. They also know a lot about one another—they practically have no secrets & usually tell each other basically everything

It’s a very sweet bromance to witness uwu

This game was such an incredible experience I loved everything about it from the art to the story to the music to just the entire thing! The narrative was super satisfying and left me in deep pain 😤👏✨ You guys did such an incredible job!!!

I was wondering if you had any songs you associated with each of the characters or music you liked to work to while working on this project? ^-^

The music I listened to changed a lot during production and a lot of the time had nothing to do with RL, and there's nothing really that stands out.

I fundamentally associate Yuma Sun's Violets to Stone with Bela, canon or otherwise. Disclaimer, the music video is explicit in more than one sense.

There were some other considerations for character themes than those that made it into the final game, and those that stands out are Neffex's Destiny for Daniela and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy for Angie. Originally, each of the LIs also had individual horror themes, but most of them made its way into the game in a more generic use. Except for Versunken for Bela and Moonlight Menschen for Cassandra, both by Myuu.

For Alcina, I would just put on Diamond City Radio :| ngl. She's butcher pete, and y'all are her willing victims. Lynda Carter

i'm so overwhelmed and i'm overjoyed. honestly, shocked tbh. i cannot believe 1500+ of y'all follow me and enjoy in my silly lil stories! but unsure of how to celebrate, so a lil poll to gauge possibilities:

by the grit of sandpaper will be 7-10 chapters and i just broke my own heart outlining the rest of the fic. miscommunication is my angst jam and boy did i counteract all the softness i'm sprinkling in the fic. excited to see how y'all react, i've been lovin' the reactions so far. it WILL have a happy, sappy, fluffy ending

the melting point is still giving me trouble, idk why i can't focus on it when i do have it all sorted out and just have to flesh out the scenes. hoping to conclude this fic by the end of this month. i have other frankie ideas but i think i like reading about him more than writing, because there are so many amazing frankie fics out there

Birthdays are hard in the Miller household. They always remind you that you've lived another year without normalcy or the people you loved. Joel didn't even tell you when his birthday was for the first few months you knew him, that September day looming large over all of you. You always try to do fun stuff during the day for Ellie's birthday, but the night is hers. Every year since you've settled in Jackson, she sits outside and looks up at the stars on the final hours of her birthday. The year she turned seventeen, you finally asked her what she does when she's out there, and she turned red before nervously admitting, "I, uh, talk to my mom." You never asked her about it again. Your birthday has felt unimportant since you were sixteen with a baby. It feels even more unimportant without Jane. But Charlie, Charlie's birthday is the best.

You spend weeks planning her first birthday, and it's a little stupid considering she won't remember it, but Joel doesn't try to stop you. It's in August, never too hot or cold, and all the kids are still out of school. You invite the Other Millers and a few friends you've made on patrol, and Ellie invites Jessie and Dina. On the day of her birthday, you, Ellie, and Joel spread flowers around two picnic tables, framing her little cake in the middle and setting up pitchers of water and homemade lemonade. Tommy and Joel grill while you and Ellie take turns with Charlie, who's wearing an adorable yellow dress and a hat that's only slightly too big for her head. You didn't expect anyone to bring anything, but sure enough, your friends and even Jessie show up with little wrapped gifts and put them on the table next to the cake.

It's a beautiful day. Bees buzz through the air, and a nice breeze rustles the leaves. It's a much better day than a year ago when you were in excruciating pain for several hours. You know you would do it all over again for how Charlie reaches for you or for getting to see her grow. She's started pulling herself up on things recently. It doesn't matter if it's a chair, the couch, or a table; she will grab part of it and stand on her own two legs. Her favorite is to pull herself up on the desk in the corner of the living room and point at the faded pictures of you and Jane and Joel and Sarah. In the pictures, Joel and Sarah pose for a camera at a soccer game, and you and Jane smile from your place on a curb. Charlie will stare at them for as long as she can stand, like she's trying to memorize the two faces that almost look like her.

It hurts that pictures and stories are the closest she'll ever get to knowing Sarah and Jane, but you do your best to tell her about them. You tell her about how Jane lived in your belly just like she did and about how much she liked music. You tell her that Sarah liked soccer and lived with her daddy before you met. You doubt she understands, but talking about them that way makes it a little easier to deal with their constant absence. You think about them as everyone starts singing Happy Birthday to Charlie, a single candle flickering in the breeze as Charlie bops her head to the words. You laugh and fight tears as you encourage her to blow out her candle, and before you can even "help" her blow it out, the wind picks up and extinguishes the flame all on its own. You and Joel make eye contact over Charlie's head and share a secret thought, smiling to yourselves before kissing Charlie's cheeks and cutting the tiny cake.

Then, you open gifts with Charlie on your lap and Joel by your side. Ellie sits across from you two on the picnic table, hands Charlie each present, and helps organize them in true big sister fashion. Jessie got her a hand-me-down book about the moon, a few of your friends knitted her blankets or hats for the winter, and Tommy and Maria got her hand drum which she immediately started banging on the second you unwrapped it. You thank everyone and clap Charlie's hands for her once you're all done, but Ellie slides a wrapped box across the table before you can move.

"Bel, you didn't have to get her anything." You say, and she shrugs.

"I wanted to," she says, and you look at Joel. "Besides, it's not just for her." You smile and reach across the table to grab her hand as you and Joel work together to open the box, Charlie reaching for the shredded paper as it falls. When you open the gift and see what's at the bottom, you gasp and put a hand over your mouth. Joel wraps an arm around your shoulder and sniffles as he pulls the frame out to look at it in the summer sun.

Inside the beautiful yellow frame is a drawing with Ellie's signature on the bottom. It's your family. Jane is tucked safely in front of you, a hand on her shoulder, as you hold Charlie on your left hip. Joel is to your right because he always is, and Ellie and Sarah are on either side of him—all six of you together for the first and last time. "I used the photos on the desk for the drawings, and Tommy helped, too. I hope that's okay," Ellie says as a tear falls down your cheek. You shift Charlie in your arms so you can walk over and hug Ellie tightly. Charlie kicks her legs excitedly at being so close to her sister, and you sniffle. "D'you like it?"

"Honey, I love it. It's so beautiful and thoughtful. Thank you." You say as you look at her. She smiles and wipes your tears away, making you laugh. Charlie wiggles her way into Ellie's arms while Joel comes over to hug Ellie. There, wrapped up in a Williams-Miller sandwich, Joel and Ellie say something you can't hear, but when they break their hug, both of them have tears staining their faces.

That night, you hang the frame in the living room so you can see it every day. Charlie kisses Sarah and Jane's frozen faces before you put it up and every day after that, she pulls herself up onto the couch so she can point at the picture of her complete family. Every once in a while, she'll blow kisses or bang on her drum before looking up at Jane as if she were there to coach her. You like to think that she is. You like to think they're both just in the next room over, whispering secret messages and leaving clues for you to find. You like to think they know and love Charlie in the way that you will always know and love them.

Flat-Coated Retrievers are a high energy breed, requiring around 2 hours of exercise a day. As a utility dog, they're bred for the dual purpose of land retrieving and water retrieving. This versatility is what makes them a great asset to gamekeepers!

In an article (linked below) Karen Peterson explains that during the breed's development, the following traits were emphasized: "intelligence, nose, ability to follow the trail of wounded game, aptitude for carrying, combined with a soft mouth, strength and courage in water, obedience, steadiness and desire to please." (Peterson, A Brief History of The Flat-Coated Retriever, 2012).
