Garments IE work area
IE department is the important part of the Garments  industry, they must perform some basic tasks on a regular basis. Today I will try to classify garments ie work area & regular activities and dealings in a short to make you understand their importance in apparel industry. Let’s take a quick look at their regular garments ie work area.
The primary function of the IE team is to hire skilled labor for the production floor, provide training, evaluate worker performance, motivate workers, reduce loss time and waste, and maximize profit margins. I attempted to combine regular activities and duties of the IE department that they typically perform in order to improve product quality and productivity.

Question: you said that you're working on more robust sizing for your clothes but will this also include *types* of fit? My main issue in finding clothing is that if something fits well on one part of my body, it won't fit well elsewhere. IE for shirts, if something fits comfortably around my chest and abdomen, it won't fit at all around the waist/hip area or on my shoulders (or vice versa)
we’re gonna try our best, with the data we have, to get clothing that fits people well and has an amount of adjustability where it is feasible, but we won’t be able to fit every body perfectly and we can’t do multiple types of fit for each type of garment since we are a small business and can’t afford to do that.

FYI for anyone interested in http://corsetpatternmaker.com/ , which I’ve seen discussed by several sewing youtubers thus far...
Tumblr media
(for reference, i’m very hourglassy and about a size 16 US; I wanted bust support and a garment like this should fit quite closely)
I tried the Elizabethan pattern (currently free if you sign up for their mailing list); the torso portion worked out fine but the straps were all kinds of fucked up and necessitated major reworking. I don’t recommend it.
I’m also not impressed by the visuals of the Victorian pattern they’ve done, but I haven’t tried that myself. Everybody I’ve seen trying these patterns so far has been a straight size, so I don’t know if this is a grading issue, but I suspect it’s really more of a ‘computer can’t handle complex shapes like shoulders’ issue. I have pretty avg shoulders and out-of-the-box patterns usually fit me well in that area.
Elizabethan/ ‘renaissance’ bodices also are very simple in construction and there’s a lot of room for error; when you start getting into complex curves for Victorian there’s suddenly way, way less. I love the idea of a pattern generator, but am extremely skeptical that it will ever work well given the infinite variations of the human body.
These patterns are also not based off of historical shapes, if that matters to you - ie in elizabethan/tudor the straps are supposed to be angled inward, if not curved, and these are totally straight.

I don't like resolutions usually since they end up feeling so forced. So I'm not doing that, but what I am doing is instead of saying "I'm going to do xyz this year", I'm promising myself that I'm going to work on finishing things - ie, working through the backlog of yarn, sewing, cleaning, etc projects, and also all my unfinished fics that have been just sitting there half-done.
That said, I've started going through my wips folder and realized that I actually have almost half of the next chapter of Here Come the Vultures already done. I've mentioned it a few times as this is the chapter with ~1350 words dedicated to just their clothes (send help). It's probably not going to be finished for a little while, but I'm posting the first part here anyway.
The first two chapters are up on ao3 here, and the accompanying, basically unedited (and fuck does it need to be), oneshot is here. There are already two songs in this chapter, Combustion and Tragedy of the Commons. Also I do have links/reference photos of their outfits if anyone's interested
☆・* ♪ *・☆
The next outfit change went as smoothly as it could.  Keith was clinging to Lance, and Shiro was flirting with Adam, but it was still successful.  The last part of the day was the one Allura had the most anxiety over.  The fourth, and final, shoot was for their tour outfits.  They would be doing the main promo shots for the tour while in what they would be wearing on stage during the actual shows.  While they all personally picked out and bought what they were wearing, Allura kept their outfits at Oriande under lock and key until leaving for the tour.  This was the first time the six saw their clothes in person, and would be one of the last until the tour actually started.  Back in the dressing room, every section had a black garment bag and shoebox waiting for each member of Castle of Lions.  The room was silent except for the sounds of clothes changing for the next few minutes.  Even when they were done, no one left their dressing areas, taking in their new outfits.
“I, um…I am never taking these off,” Keith said to the sound of a soft swish of fabric.
When Pidge had first opened her garment bag, everyone heard, “I like this even more in person.”  A few minutes later, “Oh.  I really like this even more in person.”
A soft shifting of chains came from Matt.  “Ooh, nice.”
Shiro was still getting dressed and making frustrated grumbling sounds.  “How in the absolute fuck…ah.  Got it.”
“Oh, this is even comfier than it looks,” Hunk said appreciatively.
Lance stomped on the floor once, making chains somewhere on him rattle, and giggled.  “I Love that.”
Allura came back after what she had thought was more than enough time to find the main dressing room empty.  “Aren’t you six dressed yet?” she asked.
“Oh.  Shit.  Sorry.  I think we all got distracted,” Lance said.
All six members of Castle of Lions walked out of their dressing areas at the same time, looking each other over when they gathered in a loose circle.
Hunk always favored practicality with his fashion.  His hooded sleeveless top was a textured black, leather accents at the shoulders, antiqued brass rings and buckle on his right, all brought together by the front lacing.  He always wore shorts on stage, and these ones were covered in zippers and buckles, the cargo pockets featuring their own leather straps, studs, and rings, all of the metal hardware in the same antiqued brass as his top.  Finishing his outfit were thick-soled, combat-style boots that featured a pair of wide straps, their hardware in antiqued brass as well.
Beside Hunk was Matt, who had also opted for a lack of sleeves, although he cared far, far less for practicality.  A tight-fitting tank top sat under the mesh overlay, the solid black broken up by two diagonal lengths of lacing in bright silver chain.  Skin tight black pants had a subtle sheen to them, two exposed silver zippers over the right pocket, but it was the V-shaped lacing over both knees that made them out of the ordinary.  At their core, Matt’s boots weren’t dissimilar from Hunk’s, but where Hunk’s had two thick, buckled straps, Matt’s had five, all with bright silver buckles, complete with grinning skulls in profile.
Taking up Matt’s other side was Shiro.  His outfit was overall more subtle than either Matt or Hunk, and the details were far less likely to be noticed on stage.  At a distance, his top looked like not much more than a long-sleeved black tee.  Up close, the asymmetrical hem was obvious, as was the black lacing on both his right shoulder and left side from ribs to hem, and the fact that it was just a little sheer.  The more unique feature was at the bottom of the sleeves, which ended in a thumb hole and a sort of half glove up his index fingers.  Shiro kept his tight black jeans simple only featuring a patch with pewter D-rings on his right hip and a buckled strap around his right thigh that connected to a black chain which clipped to a belt loop.  All of the deceptive simplicity let his boots take the spotlight.  Knee-high black leather, three thin pewter-buckled straps, layered leather that swept up to his calf, and black leather lacing that stopped just below the top two straps.
Pidge was the most colorful of the band.  While her pants would be taken over her cold, dead body, she allowed herself to indulge in her secret love for dresses on stage.  This one was deep emerald velvet, black spaghetti straps disappearing into the black ruffled trim along the neckline.  The skirt ended at mid-thigh, but the deep, black lace trim brought it almost to her knees.  Her favorite lace-trimmed black velvet choker fit perfectly, as did the black and green spiderweb-patterned, elbow-length fingerless gloves topped with wide buckled straps.  One thing she would never compromise on were her shoes.  Giant chunky 10cm heels and thick platforms every time.  It was no different for the knee-high black leather boots with full lacing and three buckled straps that finished off her outfit.
Lance stood between Pidge and his mate.  Much like Hunk and his shorts or Pidge’s boots, Lance had his own signature piece.  For him it was black damask dress shirts – which started when Keith once told him just how damn good he looked in them.  Like every other one he owned, this one had been tailored to his broad shoulders and narrow waist.  It was left untucked with a pair of points dipping down at both the front and back.  The long sleeves echoed those points, finishing the deep, turned cuffs.  Lance usually went for the more traditional button-down, but this one had a zipper, intentionally left partially open and exposing his collarbones and the tattoo-wreathed mating mark that sat just above them, blue-highlighted black wrought iron curling and twisting around the scar Keith left there two years earlier.  His flair for drama continued with tight black pants with lacing from hem to thigh up the right leg, more lacing on his left hip, and a leather buckled strap wrapping all the way around the same thigh.  Rounding out his outfit were black combat-style boots like Hunk and Matt, with a pair of buckled straps, but it also revealed where the rattling had come from – several heavy pewter chains wrapping the back of each boot, just for that little extra bit of chaos.
Completing the circle was Keith.  Narrow, grommeted leather bands that ran from hem to left shoulder framed the cutout and made up half of the wide v-neckline of his black light, woven cotton top.  He’d picked it even knowing that its long sleeves were inevitably going to be pulled up under the heat of the stage lights, despite the lacing that ran 4 inches up from the bottom of each sleeve, and that the leather and pewter left shoulder weren’t going to make it any better.  Inside the cutout was a layer of sheer black under distressed deep red lace, black lacing crossing over and connecting the bands.  The lower neckline showed off his own mating mark, wrapped in a similar tattoo to his mate’s, the more lace-like wrought iron design highlighted in a deep rose-violet.  Individually, most of the components of Keith’s black painted-on jeans were nothing out of the ordinary for him.  Three buckled straps, one the the thigh, two around his calf, exposed side zipper with spiked studs and dangling zipper pull, and the fact that the pants themselves were shredded, not just ripped, were all things that could be seen on any number of his extensive collection.  But these had, attached to a narrow belt threaded through a second set of beltloops that sat just below the usual ones, a pleated half-skirt that wrapped around his left hip and fell to the knee.  Not much could top that, and he kept it simple with his choice of footwear.  Black leather ankle boots, with two studded straps, studded heels, and a 3cm platform and its 8cm heel completed his outfit.
They all looked each other over appreciatively, some more so than others – Lance and Keith could not take their eyes off each other.  The rest of Castle of Lions ignored them, while Allura had gone back to the interview schedule for the rest of the week.
Lance took a step into Keith’s personal space, something that didn’t exist when it came to his mate.  “Fuck, you look good.”
“Yeah?” Keith answered, closing the distance, “So do you.”
“Oh my god,” Pidge groaned, no longer able to ignore them, “You’re practically eye-fucking each other.  Save it for later.  Way.  Later.”
“Aw, you’re no fun, Pidgey,” Lance said, not looking away.  He slipped his hands around Keith’s waist, nuzzling his omega’s mating mark, despite the scent blocker.
The purr that rolled out of Keith was a soft rumble, the interested and inviting hum that accompanied it anything but innocent.  He slid his hands up his alpha’s chest and around his neck, and pulled Lance in for a kiss, the taste of a promise on his lips.
Shiro’s voice broke them apart.  “Oh for fuck’s sake.  Do I really have to pull you two apart like horny teenagers?”
“Nothing you haven’t threatened before,” Keith shot back although any heat in his voice was muffled by Lance’s neck.
“Alright, last shoot.  And if we want to end on time, we need to go now,” Allura said then turned and left the room, not waiting.
Keith refused to let go, even when Pidge, Hunk, and Matt all followed Allura.  He squawked indignantly at his brother’s arms around his torso, pulling him away from his mate.  Shiro didn’t stop, holding Keith off the floor, leaving him to hang there, looking every bit like a disgruntled cat.  Lance, of course, found this hilarious, but took pity on his mate, rescuing Keith from Shiro.  Keith sent a pathetic scowl Shiro’s way, wrapping himself around Lance as they left to catch up with the others.
They missed the first few quiet notes filtering down the hall, nearly running into their bandmates who had stopped at the end of the corridor.  But then they heard the next echoing chords, what they knew were two different guitars playing together in perfectly synchronized tandem, a keyboard setting the stage.  The seven of them fanned out, Keith tucking himself against his mate, all watching the video playing of a concert from their last tour.
Lance was closer to the center of the stage and Keith, who held his own blood red and black guitar.  As the music picked up, another stage light came on, illuminating more than just the matepair, Shiro emerging from the shadows.  The other lights gradually came on, revealing Hunk, Matt, and Pidge.  Keith and Lance alternated between playing together and separately.  When asked later, they said that that part wasn’t the most difficult.  The hardest part came when all six of them played in total synchronicity, each part keeping perfect time with the others.  Keith picked up the melody, switching off with Lance not long after, leaving his alpha to finish the song.
The few seconds of silence between the end of one song and the beginning of another was filled with the roaring scream of the crowd, quieting when the first notes began.  Keith’s smoky vocals quickly joined the instrumentals.  Unlike the last song, he returned to his usual show behavior, wandering the stage, never staying in one place for long.  The rest of Castle of Lions joined in for the backup vocals during the chorus, but the crowd exploded again at the beginning of the third verse when Matt stepped up to provide the growling lyrics.  The song began its path to the end, Keith repeating the second half of the chorus, Lance layering over him as that section was split in half.  The video stopped only seconds from the end when Adam and Curtis realized they were no longer alone in the studio.

Creating our final presentation:
Once we had all the areas covered and done we could being to create the final presentation.
Tumblr media
We wanted to make sure that our vision and purpose slide it was supper clear what we were about as a brand, we needed to make sure that it was clear to read and also wasn't too much to read which is why we broke it all down into 4 bullet points. On each of the slides we also wanted our logo somewhere so that it made the entire presentation cohesive.
Tumblr media
In terms of our brand identity slide this was all about the rules that Amber had set about our logo usage. We wanted it to be clear what rules we had abut our logo and the size and the fonts that can be used. However when creating the presentation we did use a different font for the titles and some of the text, we felt that Gilrock font was great for our logo but it wasn't always really easy to read, so we picked a font called Kigelia which we felt still went with our brand and it was much easier to read. After deciding this Amber just had to add this onto the identity slide as this would be the font we used in future presentations as a brand.
Tumblr media
Our customer profile we felt was really strong and clear, by having the collage next to the customer profile we felt was a really good visual to have so that people who don't necessarily like reading words can still get a clear idea as the type of customer we are trying to reach.
Tumblr media
This was the mood board that Ysa had created, the job of the moodboard was to inform what the products would be, so when you look at the mood board you should start to build up a visual idea in your head as to what the products were going to look like. I feel that our mood board is strong as the images that have been used really sum up the vibe we wanted to create in our products. One thing that we did think to potentially change was the background colour and maybe changing it to be one of the priest I had done just because black didn't really go with the vibe of our garments or brand.
Tumblr media
For our products we had to find the technical names for some of the pieces ie funnel sleeve top. We wanted the page to be clear and the right names as to what each item of clothing is called, we didn't want to much on this page as we wanted the big focus to be on the illustrations of the garments.
Tumblr media
We then had a slide on my prints. On this slide I didn't want to have to much as similar to the product slide I wanted the focus to be on the prints. On this slide I would talk about how each print was designed to be layered as each one would be on a different garments. Also I would talk about the inspiration behind the prints and the photographs that I used to get some of the shapes and the colours.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amber had worked out our prices for us, she had done them as a mark up of X2 because we were selling directly through our website and we weren't going wholesale to begin with, because our garments are made from fully sustainable materials it meant that our prices were always going to be quite high. We hope that our customers are willing to spend this much as they are pieces that are made to last.
Tumblr media
She had also worked out the price of our products if did want to go whole sale. To help set our our price page we had our technical drawings, which we could then write the price each one next to it which would make it really clear as to the cost of each of the garments.
Tumblr media
On our packaging slide we had all the designs for our packaging with some key bits of information as well, for example we wanted to make sure that everyone knows that its all recyclable and fully recyclable. We also wanted to have an estimated price of all the packing, at first we were going to have this on the price page but we felt it made more sense on this page as its about the packaging.
Tumblr media
For place we had a picture of the instagram that Ysa had created and a picture of the website that Amber had mocked up. We were going to have some text on this page which talked about how for the short term we would sell through our website but more long term we would hope to move to retail space, but we felt that actually these were points that we could discuss in the pitch rather than have then on the slide as we felt that the pictures said enough about where our place is.
Tumblr media
On the promotion slide we decided to set it out almost as an invitation with what holding, where it's going to be and the dates that we were going to be in the space. We also wanted a picture of the space where we would be holding the event and we decided to put o the images of the tote bags and business cards which we give out at the event.
Tumblr media
The final slide of our presentation is all about our future and what we hope to do, we had some big ideas as to the future of our promotion so we wanted this to be on here, we also left a space as we needed to add in the future of sustainability as this is a huge part of our vision and purpose so in the future it will be something that we will constantly be looking to better. In terms of the layout of this slide we did feel that maybe the last couple of points needed to be turned into bullet points as at it looks like quite a lot and isn't the easiest to read.
Tumblr media
I added in a little segment about the development of smart textiles. From the lecture on critical thinking about the future we had spoke about using materials that breakdown into the environment to create our garments from by doing this it keeps in line with our brand as instead of material ending up in landfills they actually break down into the environment and don't cause harm.
The very final part to the presentation is for us to all practice it, by practicing and rehearsing it all we will be able to pitch the entire thing with confidence and will be able to confidently answer any questions at the end.

Teach me Tiger how to kiss you
Show me Tiger how to kiss you
The heavy velvet draped over your shoulders, in Lannister red and gold, almost weighing you down as you turned back to the septon, not daring to look up at the old lion you now called husband. Barely processing the words of the septon, you stood stock still, until it was time for you to turn to Tywin, tip your chin up and receive his kiss. It was a chaste, barely there kiss, done out of duty rather than love. Of course there wasn’t any love behind it; this marriage was done only out of duty, duty to Casterly Rock, which needed a suitable heir without a tarnished reputation for incest and whoreing, duty to your house, which desperately needed Lannister gold and men. Nevertheless, the ghost of a kiss still left you a little breathless and dizzy, and you couldn’t help but think of the bedding ceremony later on that night.
Take my lips, they belong to you
“We do not have to consummate the marriage right this instant,”
You looked over your shoulder, lip drawn into you mouth nervously. “But-”
“You’re young, inexperienced. And you’ve been tense with nerves since you walked into the sept. Come. Sit. We’ll have some wine. Talk, if you’d like,” Tywin gestured to a simple couch, big enough for the two of you to sit without being too close.
Still worrying your lip between your teeth, you perched on the edge, accepting your Lord husband’s offer of a goblet of wine. “I- I thought... my purpose was to give you an heir, my Lord,” you murmured, staring at the dark red liquid in the cup.
Tywin sighed and sat down, leaving just over a foot between you, nursing his own goblet. “It is. Eventually,” he said. “When you are ready. I would not force myself on you,”
“But the king said-”
“Never mind what the king said. My grandson has no say in what happens in my- our marriage chamber,”
A little more relaxed, you braved a look up at your husband, admiring his chiselled jaw, his blonde hair streaked with white, before quickly draining your goblet, feeling a little more relaxed as you stood to set it down. Tywin watched with fascination as you put your cup back on the tray, eyes fixed on you as you came to sit back down- he was very much aware of the fact that you sat a little closer to him. Happy to go off your lead, he continued to nurse his drink, eyes occasionally flicking to you as you shuffled a little closer. He tensed briefly as you leaned into him, before relaxing slowly.
“I-I’d like you to kiss me, please,” you murmured, your soft voice barely reaching his ears. Tywin arched his brows, locking eyes with you, silently asking if you were sure.
You nodded your head, tipping your chin up the same way you had done in the Sept.
But teach me first, teach me what to do
Tywin gave you another chaste kiss that had your tummy fluttering, and you found yourself leaning further forward as he was pulling away. A low laugh rumbled in his chest. “Easy now,” he said.
“I’m sorry,” you sighed, looking away, cheeks heating with embarrassment.
“For what?” Tywin asked, standing up and offering you his hand.
“For... being inexperienced, I suppose. I doubt I’m the most exciting bedfellow you’ve ever had,” you rubbed your arm, self conscious. Despite the heat of kings landing, you felt a soft chill skitter over your flesh. “I don’t... know...” you looked at the floor, suddenly very interested in the grain of the wood.
“You’re a maid, I take it?” When you nodded quickly, Tywin held up his hand. “It matters not to me. Not in that way. But I presume you’ve never known a man? I presume you’ve never... known yourself?” He added in an undertone, and you let out a little gasp, shaking your head.
“Will you...” you gulped, looking up at him, seeing his pupils slowly expand. “Teach me? To know...”
“Teach you to know me, or yourself?”
You straightened your back, chest raising and falling with each breath. “Both,”
Touch me Tiger when I'm close to you
The small sitting area, with its couch, desk, bookshelves and table, was most certainly not the place for the consummation of your marriage. Tywin led you through a small passageway and a door to his sleeping chambers. Instantly, your eyes made contact with the bed, already turned down, pillows plumped. Clearing his throat, Tywin directed your attention back to him. “Help me with these buttons. They are much too fiddly,” he said, gesturing to his doublet. You smiled softly, happy to carry out the simple task to put your nerves at ease, knowing full well that Tywin could undo his own buttons. “Shall I undo your braids?” He asked as you folded the expensive scarlet fabric, leaving him in his linen shirt and his trousers.
“Yes please,” you murmured. “The hairpins have been stabbing me all day and night,”
Tywin smirked, stepping behind you and towering over you as he began unpinning the intricate braids, letting you unravel them as they fell to your shoulders. “We can’t have that,” he said and you smiled, running your fingers through your hair. When the final braid was loosened and unraveled, you couldn’t help but lean back into Tywin, sighing softly as his hands came to rub the tension out of your shoulders. Eyes fluttering shut, you tipped your head back to rest it against his shoulder, exposing your throat and allowing him to undo your necklace and cast it aside as your apprehension melted away. Slowly, Tywin’s elegant hands moved from your shoulders to smooth over your waist, making you gasp as his fingers kneaded the flesh there.
“My Lord-”
“Tywin,” he whispered into your ear, relishing in your little shudder.
“Tywin...” you sighed. “Please... the dress...”
“Off?” He asked, just to be sure, not wanting to rush you. With your eager nod, he made a noise of content, stepping back a little to access the lacing of your dress, slowly unthreading it, allowing the delicate fabric to flutter to the ground, leaving you in your chemise and stockings and bodice. You kicked off your shoes, dropping a few inches in height as you began fumbling with the fiddly laces of your bodice. His eyes were firmly on you as you began the painstaking process of unlacing your bodice, and you did not miss the way his tongue darted out to moisten his lips as your nimble fingers worked the end of the lace through the many holes. When the structured garment finally fell to the ground with a dull thud, you looked back up to him, resisting the urge to cross your arms over your chest- the thin chemise you wore as a buffer between your corset and your skin was sheer enough that you were sure he could see your tightening nipples through it.
Tywin flicked his eyes over your form briefly, before approaching you slowly. You were fully aware that he still had his boots and trousers on, though now that his doublet was off, you could see the tightness in them. Arching his brow in amusement, he asked “would you like me to undress?”
Chewing your lip, you nodded, sitting on the foot of his bed as you watched him take off his shirt. You gulped, eyeing up his chest shamelessly; you were surprised at how... well he looked, especially at his age, your eyes lingering on his sinewy yet strong form. Snapping out of your little trance, you looked to the floor, face flooding with heat as Tywin smirked at you. “You can look, you know. I am your husband after all,”
You let out a nervous laugh at his remark, though as he kicked off his boots and began to unlace his trousers, you couldn’t unlock your eyes from his stare, drawing your lip into your mouth as his trousers dropped to the floor. “S-should we... get into bed?” You murmured.
“We shall. But I will say this now, YN, if you do not want to be intimate tonight, I can wait until you’re ready. We could just lay and talk, or you could sleep,”
You smiled slightly. Tywin was surprising you more and more; at the wedding feast you had heard bawdy remarks that the head of house Lannister would simply have his wicked way with you and then bundle you off to Casterly Rock whether you liked it or not. It seemed he would do nothing of the sort. “I’d like to lay a while,” you murmured. Tywin nodded and gestured for you to make himself comfortable in the grand bed. It was difficult not to, what with the soft pillows and comfortable mattress. Tywin lay by your side, leaving a gap between you both as he had done on the couch, drawing the covers up to cover you both.
Help me Tiger, I don't know what to do
You lay in relative silence for a while, occasionally glancing at one another, making small remarks here and there. Eventually, a streak of boldness bolted through you and you turned on your side, facing Tywin, your chin propped up by your hand.
“you know before...” you began, trying to avoid Tywin’s gaze as he looked at you with amusement. You sighed, changing tack. “You said you would help me to know you,”
“That I did,” he prompted, knowing there was something more to your rambling.
“But... you also said you’d help me... know myself,” Tywin nodded slowly, urging you on. “How?” You finished bluntly.
“I assume you know... the mechanics,” he said vaguely.
“Yes. Well, what my septa taught me,”
“Ah. What your septa failed to tell you was that it can be quite... an enjoyable experience. For both parties. You may feel intense pleasure, that is,”
“But... the purpose is to... make an heir,” you said, frowning slightly.
“And there is more chance of success if you enjoy yourself doing it,”
You bit your lip slightly. “Can you show me?” You asked, voice barely more than a whisper. Tywin looked at you intensely, and instantly, you answered the silent questions that blazed in his eyes. “Please. I’m sure,”
Nodding, Tywin eased you onto your back, proving himself up on his elbow as he hovered over you. “It is very important that you prepare yourself... there are many places in your body that the simplest touch-” still beneath the sheets, he dragged his knuckle over your clothes waist, smirking at your shiver, “-will bring you pleasure. Touch your body, YN, through your chemise,” you nodded slowly, shutting your eyes as you ran your fingertips up, over your thighs, your hips, your waist... then back down. On every other journey, you’d swipe your thumbs over your clothed nipples, gasping and arching your back. Tywin hummed in approval, tipping your chin up so he could press several kisses to your throat. “Very good...” he whispered into your ear, relishing in your pleased shudder. He placed his large hand over one of yours and guided it further south. You gulped, aware of the hot wetness gathering between your thighs. “Now... here...”
You took a breath, hitching your chemise up until it was bunched over your hips. Tywin could not see thanks to the covers, but he could just imagine your wetness, giving the way you had been wriggling your hips. “Spread your legs,” he murmured, feeling his cock twitch in wake of your pretty sighs. “Good,” he praised, and you nodded, biting your lip hard. “Now, touch yourself, between your legs,”
“How will I know if...”
“You will know,” he affirmed and you nodded, beginning to stroke around the general vicinity until-
Your back arched and you let out a shuddery moan. He was right. You definitely knew. Quickly becoming both breathless and speechless, you allowed yourself to succumb to pleasure as your lord husband watched. Gasping for air, you felt yourself climb further and further and further, until you toppled over the peak, aided by a slight pinch to your nipple. Shaking, you stared up at the ceiling, feeling gentle lips pressed against your forehead as you recovered from your high. You felt yourself leaning into him, moaning softly at the dull throb between your legs. When you finally trusted yourself to speak without an embarrassing wobble to your voice, you looked up at your husband, eyes blown wide with desire for the lion. “Please...” you whispered.
I know that you could love me to
But show me first, show me what to do
This is the first love that I have ever known
What must I do to make you my very own?
Tywin nodded, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. You knew his tenderness was to calm you down. It wasn’t out of love; how could you love one another? Your marriage had been one of political strategy, and you were well aware that the only love Tywin Lannister ever knew was for his late wife Joanna.
Teach me Tiger how to tease you
But as Tywin manoeuvred himself between your thighs, the candle light casting shadows from his high cheekbones, you felt... something. He was being so gentle with you, so tender, his large hands splaying over your waist and stomach and hips as you tugged your chemise over your head, leaving you completely nude beneath him. You licked your lips quickly, feeling undoubtedly exposed as you were spread out beneath him, thighs parted to cradle him between them. Eyeing the bulge in his linen underwear, you bit your lip, your nerves running through you again, mile a minute.
Sensing your nervousness, Tywin took your hand, guiding it slowly to his prominent bulge. You gasped, feeling the hot, hard flesh through the fabric as you palmed him. Even through the fabric you could tell how well endowed he was. As your hand ran over the ridges of his cock, Tywin let out a suppressed groan. “Clever girl,” he praised softly and you smiled, nibbling your lip.
Eventually, Tywin knocked your hand away, reaching to fish his cock from his underwear. You barely got a look before he was hovering above you, holding one of your thighs apart with one hand, the other guiding his cock over your wet entrance. “This may hurt... only for a moment,” he murmured, and you nodded- your septa had not spared you the details of procreation.
As he eased his cock into your waiting hole, you felt yourself tense up. He was barely in you, yet you felt so full. The fullness was soon accompanied by a slight pain that had you gasping, but pretty soon you were overcome by the sensation of being stretched out. Giving an experimental rock of your hips, you groaned out, the noise guttural and wanton, and your lips were unable to stop it escaping. “Move,” you whispered. “Move, please,” you hooked your legs around his hips for good measure, heels beginning to press into his lower back as he began rocking his hips, pulling almost all the way out before easing back in.
Once he was sure you had adjusted properly, Tywin’s thrusts became a little rougher, shallower, and you could feel his cock drag over the sensitive walls then clenched tightly around it. He knelt up, dragging you further down the mattress as he rutted into you, skin slapping hard against yours as you wriggled, head tipped back to groan and cry out. Your hair was a mess, your lips were swollen, and your noises steadily grew louder and louder despite your attempts muffle them. Tywin did not try to quiet you, relishing in the cries of passion he was able to draw from you. It gave him a sense of pride to know that his wife was in ecstasy, that his wife was taking her pleasure beneath him like she were a common harlot and he a lowly peasant. And most of all, he relished in the fact that you would soon have a belly full of his children, swelling with the continuation of the Lannister dynasty.
Tiger, Tiger I wanna squeeze you
Clutching onto any inch of his skin you could find, your back arched upwards off the bed as your nails dragged down his arms, you came with a lusty, broken cry, your entire being quivering around him as a sensation more intense than your previous orgasm washed over you. Tywin growled, letting out a low shuddering groan as he finished, and you felt the odd, yet erotic, sensation of his seed filling you to the brim.
All of my love I will give to you
Panting, twitching, and letting out soft whimpers, you fell back among the pillows as Tywin moved to your side. “Are you alright?” He asked you, pressing the pads of his thumbs against your cheeks, swiping away your fallen tears. You didn’t even realise you were crying, too distracted by your crashing release. You managed a small nod and a hum of reassurance as you slowly regained the ability to move. Already you felt your thighs aching, your core still throbbing. You could feel a bit of your husband’s seed slipping from your body, trailing lazily between your thighs. The rest, you knew, was deep inside of you. Tywin sat up, tugging the sheets back over you before laying back down beside you. You hummed contentedly as Tywin pulled you into his side, and you could feel his heart still pounding as you both settled into post coital bliss.
“Do you think... it’ll work?” You murmured, already nodding off as the room became dimmer, the candles close to their ends.
“What, that you’ll be with child after tonight?” When you have a slight nod, Tywin chuckled. “Part of me hopes so. As you’re aware, I am in desperate need of a suitable heir,”
“And the other part?” You whispered.
“The other part of me hopes that you don’t fall pregnant just yet...” you picked up on the suggestive edge to his voice, increasingly grateful for the darkening room as your eyes widened.
“If I don’t... if I’m not... then we will try again. Maybe even... recreationally,” you cringed inwardly at your own formality; the man had been balls deep in you only moments ago. “But I will do my best to fulfil my duties as your lady wife,”
“Hmm... and the lady of Casterly rock?” He teased and you rolled your eyes.
“Casterly rock too. On one condition though,”
But teach me Tiger or I'll teach you
Tywin arched his brows, not used to being given conditions.
“You treat me well. You obey your vows. You don’t treat me like a whore or a thing to fuck and throw away as soon as you’ve got an heir and a spare. You treat me as your lady wife. Protect me, guide me, and at the very least, try to love me. Because that is exactly what I will be doing for you,”

I’m officially opening up cosplay commissions! Send me a message for more information and inquiries.
I only included a very small part of my rather large portfolio and will include more examples if there are inquiries.
I’ve been sewing 10+ years, and I have a Bachelors in Studio Arts with an emphasis in illustration and painting. I specialize in ballgowns, but I also have experience in more structured garments (such as women’s suits and jackets) and I also have experience with Elizabethan era court gowns (I can definitely provide examples). I really enjoy working on historical costuming projects. Other examples of projects I’ve worked on include Jedi robes and the “soft”/fabric parts of a Star Wars Boushh bounty hunter costume (which landed me an interview on a local news network, twice!) I definitely have my own style, but I am more than willing to work with a design if a client has something specific in mind.
Besides sewing costumes and gowns, I also have experience working with fosshape to make hats, re-covering parasols to match a costume, and I LOVE to bedazzle! Other areas I’ve worked in include more casual projects, such as a Slytherin themed jacket I designed and a few swing dresses I’ve made.
Some other things I can do include smaller armor pieces (ie: not a full set of armor).  I love working with worbla and EVA foam, but only on a small scale, such as a bracer, pauldrons, etc. I particularly enjoy detailed painting. I can also sculpt smaller pieces as I have experience working with polymer clay.
Another passion of mine is making custom plushies. If interested and would like to see examples of my past projects, please let me know.
Some things I don’t do? Spandex bodysuits. And while I can also do some minor wig styling it is not my specialty. Commissions will be on a case by case basis, if at all.
A heads up for allergies, I try to keep my sewing room as neat and clean as possible, but I do have a dog friendly house with a rat terrier and a beagle.

Happenstance
Tumblr media
Summary: Henry is about to go to bed one night when he suddenly gets a text from a random number he doesn’t know. What happens when you accidentally text the star actor of The Witcher? Memes apparently. Lots and lots of memes.
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
Pairing: Henry Cavill x OFC (Lizzy Moore)
Word count: 1.3K
Warnings: None...yet! Just some fluffy flirting. Well okay and lots of mention of his crotch? 😬😘
A/N: So I’ve had this idea bouncing around in my brain for a LONG time and finally pulled the trigger and wrote it! It’s in texting format, and I hope you like it! This is my first time posting fan fiction on here so I’m nervous and excited!
Beta: Thank you to @avengeful-bunny for being my AMAZING beta. I don’t know what I would do without you. 💛💛💛
Tagging: I’m going to tag all those whose work has inspired me to write and post my work! Much love to ALL of you! @littlefreya @dancingwendigo @mary-ann84 @yespolkadotkitty @viking-raider @cavillhoney
Part 1: Oops.
(405:) God, girl. You will not BELIEVE the day I had. I'm pretty sure I lost a pint of blood today from how many times I stabbed myself sewing.
(405:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) You should probably get a thimble for that.
(Henry:) Also, I do believe you have the wrong number. Considering you started the text off with 'girl' and I am quite the opposite. But even so, please spill the tea. I’m dying to know about this UNBELIEVABLE day you’ve had.
(Henry:)
Tumblr media
(405:) Oh my god, MR. CAVILL I AM soooo SO SO SORRY. I must have accidentally clicked on your name and not my friend's name.
(405:) I feel really awkward having your number when you don’t have mine. Do you want me to delete it? Just to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Also so some random crew member doesn’t have your number?
(Henry:) Oh god, please call me Henry. There’s no need for such formalities. And it’s fine, there’s no need to delete it. Since you mentioned crew and sewing, I'm assuming you work for the costuming department?
(Henry:) Also, I have your number now, don't I? :P
(405:) By it’s fine do you mean this kind of fine?
(405:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) Oh no, it’s LITERALLY fine. I promise.
(Henry:)
(405:) But to answer your question, yes! I work for the costuming department. I’m newer, so I get to do the usual stuff. Mostly just lots of mending at the moment. And JUST TO BE CLEAR, I won't do anything to abuse this number since you're Henry Cavill.
(405:) And you’re Henry Cavill. Also you are my co-worker, my I’m assuming super rich, god tier co-worker that I’m not supposed to make eye contact with nevermind TEXT.
(Henry:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) But yes, my name is Henry. Please keep my number, we’re coworkers after all, it’s normal for coworkers to have each other’s numbers. Have we met on set before?
(405:) We have once or twice, just in passing mostly. Once I brought you clothes to your trailer.
(Henry:) Are you the one with the brown and pink hair?
(405:) That's me. :)
(Henry:) Don't tell me your name, I know what it is.
(405:) Are you sure about that? You don't seem too confident :P
(Henry:) I know it starts with an E. Is it Eloise? Eleanor? I know it was something old fashioned, too.
(405:) Man, you're so close. I mean, kind of. Think of historical dead English queens. Like, for example you were best friends with her dad. You were a fancy Duke who was good with the sword and ladies. Also, I’m sorry, aren’t you supposed to be a big nerd?
(Henry:) ELIZABETH!
(Henry:) And I am a HUGE nerd thank you very much.
(Elizabeth:) Yes, that's my name haha. Also, whoa whoa, settle down there cowboy.
(Elizabeth:) And it’s just Lizzy, with a Y. The thought of spelling it with an IE makes me cringe.
(Lizzy:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) Pretty much everyone? Who doesn't call you Lizzy?
(Lizzy:) My dad, my grandma, my teachers, my victims, my doctor, the one girl in high school who hated me.
(Henry:) Haha that's quite the list there Lizzy Borden. I think it’s your turn to settle down. :P
(Henry:) Well then Lizzy with a Y, it's nice to finally talk to you, even though it's over text.
(Henry:) So I have to ask, I take it they were cracking the whip pretty hard in wardrobe today?
(Lizzy:) You know, I was doing what I thought was a pretty damn good job of avoiding that subject.
(Henry:) Nope, you can't slip past me. This brain is like an iron trap.
(Lizzy:) If you MUST know...
(Henry:) I really do. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
(Henry:)
Tumblr media
(Lizzy:) Okay well that just sounds sarcastic. I don't HAVE to tell you... :P
(Lizzy:) I'm kidding, kidding. Well, since you MUST know, I spent at least half of my day mending clothes, particularly the crotch of multiple pairs of your pants. Also a few pairs had the butt blown out.
(Henry:) The crotch?
(Lizzy:) Yes, the CROTCH OF YOUR PANTS HENRY. :P Honestly I'm used to it at this point though. It's not the first time, or I'm assuming the last, that I'll have to mend the crotch of your pants. It’s not your fault the studio wants you in tighter fitting clothes that can show off how muscular you are. It’s just my job to fix it. ;)
(Henry:) I guess I never really thought about who it was having to mend them when that happens.
(Lizzy:) And it’s not just your crotch area I mend, it’s your inseams as well. I think your thighs got a little bigger since the initial fitting. :P
(Lizzy:) And yes, us little people taking care of you famous movie stars, making sure you stay looking like the heartthrob you are. Since that is your job and all. :P
(Henry:) Hey now, I’m more than just a pretty face. You make me sound like a talentless hack. But thank you. For your sake I'll try and not blow out any more seams, especially the crotch.
(Lizzy:) You don't need to thank me, it's literally my job. ;)
(Lizzy:) I mean, if your muscles didn’t rip through clothing on a regular basis I’d be out of a job!  How rude.
(Henry:) Well I mean in that case I COULD make it a habit. ;)
(Lizzy:) All I have to say is I’m SO glad we don’t have to worry about shirt buttons on you during this. I’ve seen the stress you put on buttons during press junkets. The anxiety I feel, Henry. So much anxiety.
(Lizzy:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) Yeah, those shirts never seem to fit my chest right. I taught myself how to sew buttons on my shirts so I could stop asking others to help.
(Lizzy:) Okay, the fact that you taught yourself how to sew on buttons because it’s a CONTINUING issue is both hilarious and adorable. :P
(Henry:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) So I’m curious about something, costume wise.
(Lizzy:) Yes? I’m sure I can answer, costume wise. ;)
(Henry:) How long does it take to sew together a shirt from scratch?
(Lizzy:) Well, it all depends on the type of shirt, and what it’s for. For the sake of film, there are so many steps. Design, pattern making, grading, construction, fitting. That’s just a fraction of it. It’s a very long process.
(Lizzy:) But if I was at home making a shirt for a friend, I could do it start to finish in a couple of hours. They're not hard. I can sew them together in my sleep.
(Henry:) A few HOURS? That's amazing.
(Lizzy:) Eh, it's what I went to school for. ;) It’s not that impressive to me.
(Henry:) Well, to me it is at least.  ;)
(Lizzy:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:)
Tumblr media
(Henry:) Unfortunately, it's time for me to go to bed. I have an early call time in the morning.
(Lizzy:) You're going to bed at 6 in the evening? I’m assuming you have a super crazy call time? One time I had a call time of 1 am because there were things that had to be fixed by the time you and Anya got to set at 4 am. Although it does have it’s advantages. I get to have the first pick of craft services, and sunrises are always nice to watch.
(Lizzy:) But I’m sorry, that sucks. :(
(Henry:) Some days it does, especially when I can't seem to fall asleep. But today was exhausting so I don't think I'll have any issues tonight. Plus Kal has been extra cuddly tonight so I definitely won’t have any issues.
(Lizzy:) Well then, I guess this is where we say goodnight. I hope you sleep well. :)
(Henry:) Thank you. I hope you do, too. Hopefully tomorrow will involve less bleeding onto garments. ;P
(Lizzy:) Haha, I mean it really doesn’t matter. If anything it makes the garment just look THAT much more legit. I hope you have a good day on set tomorrow. :)
(Henry:) Thank you. It was really nice talking to you Lizzy. I hope we talk more again soon. :)
(Lizzy:) It was nice talking to you, too. And I would really like that. :)
(Lizzy:) Goodnight, Henry. :)
(Henry:) Goodnight Lizzy. Sleep well. :)

Living in Costa Rica - A First Week of Adventures and Shopping
Tumblr media
I'm encountering Costa Rica starting from the earliest stage - in a real sense. Because of my semi-far off area and the way that I don't yet have a vehicle implies I'm putting my soles to the ground and getting a move on all over a mountainside looking for day by day necessities. During my first week, the entirety of my time from waking to resting was spent dealing with easily overlooked details to cause another house and area to feel like home.
We are living in Las Nubes de (the billows of ) Coronado, Costa Rica. To get to our area; start in the Focal Valley of San Jose, go Northwest up into the mountains past Guadalupe, through Moravia, at that point through Coronado lastly up to San Rafael/Las Nubes. For better reference, an online guide is accessible here: Las Nubes de Coronado, Costa Rica, C.A..
We're up here in the mountains where the climate is continually Spring-like, the hummingbirds go to day by day to the blooming trees, Junior picks from the trees nectarines and bananas and from the brambles red and green peppers. 500 meters beneath us is a functioning dairy farm total with bull pulled trucks for moving around feed grasses and keeping in mind that we stroll by both milk cows and chickens nibble street side. The evenings are cold, yet we have an extraordinary huge chimney that keeps us warm and comfortable ... we simply need to discover a hotspot for more kindling (one of the many, numerous things on my extremely, long plan for the day)
The transport from Coronado runs around each half-hour and the last stop is 400 meters underneath our home. Junior and I have been bringing the transport down and back from Coronado day by day at an expense of 310 colones ($00.62) every route for the two of us. In Coronado we generally invest energy at a Web bistro, eat a supper and do some looking for family things like food and cleaning supplies. At that point it has returned to the transport terminal to get our transport for the ride up. The last 400 meter climb up to the house with our rucksacks and packs of buys can leave you short of breath.
One of our more critical excursions to Coronado included my discernment that all ATM's are made equivalent. In the states I never stressed over how minimal expenditure was in my pocket because of the immense number and dependability of ATM machines. In Coronado there are just two ATMs that I am aware of: one at Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) and the other at Banco Nacional (BN). Without giving an excessive amount of consideration I spent my way down to around 100 colones and when I went to the ATMs for more cash, I was denied admittance to assets by both. Junior and I gazed toward the peak, realizing that some place near the top was our home ... so away we went - strolling roughly 7 kilometers up and up and up and up .... furthermore, up! About 90 minutes after the fact we were home and sore - and yet, it was somewhat fun. All things considered, many travel from around the world to climb the mountains of Costa Rica and we had the posh issue of expecting to finish a climb only for returning home! See here Dairy Farm Residences
Friday, February 29th we got an opportunity to see somewhat a greater amount of the space on account of John's companion Arne. Today Junior and I took a taxi to San Antonio de Coronado (a territory underneath Coronado) to meet with Arne for a little shopping. The nearer you get to the capital city of San Jose, the really shopping assortment you need to browse. In our movements we went to stores in the barrios of San Pedro, Guadalupe and Moravia.
In Costa Rica there is an assortment of store (tienda) decisions going from minimalistic living space front stores (in a real sense) to the immense markdown and club outlet center (like a Sam's or Costco).
* Home-front stores regularly marked as a "pulperia" or "abastecedor" are typically situated in the front part of a construction or building that is generally a home. A basic sign out front or simply a sign painted on the structure indicates this sort of tienda where you can get a speedy bite fix like a pack of Funions and a Coke.
* Supermarkets can likewise be little owner shops up to bigger stores frequently alluded to as "Scaled down" or "Uber Supers". A basic food item chain comprising of medium sized stores in numerous spaces of Costa Rica is designated "Pali" (possessed by Wal-shop, articulated: dad LI). Pali is like U.S. based Aldi Food Stores in that they give essential staples like milk, beans, rice, snacks, cleaning supplies, and so on - complete with a sack it-yourself administration. Basic food item chains that more take after standard U.S. supermarkets are MasXMenos (another Wal-store possessed chain), Smaller than normal Uber Super, Uber Super and others. In these stores you will discover most all that expected to stock your home - even Jif crunchy peanut butter!
* Claim to fame Stores can again be little owner shops or corporate retailers that sell a specific kind of product like garments, furniture, gadgets, pet supplies, and so on, and so forth
- I bought a PC APC Back-UPS flood defender/battery back-up (model # BE350R) for $40.80 from a PC/gadgets chain called Group3C (Grupo3C) that has stores in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador. The name of the Costa Rica store is called COC.CO (I think :o) situated in San Pedro.
- Subsequent to shopping a few bargain retailers (see underneath) I wound up tracking down a more ideal arrangement on a microwave at a forte store called El Verdugo in Moravia. My buy was a Haier 1,000 watt treated steel microwave (model # MWM10100SS) for $101.80
* Rebate or Club Stores offer the shopping experience of a Sam's Club or Costco. Hiper Mas (a completely possessed Wal-shop auxiliary - seeing a pattern?!) and Value Savvy are two of these sorts of stores ... be that as it may, anyplace, shop these stores against one another and claim to fame stores for cost and item. Actually like a club offering free beverages and comps, the way these all inclusive resource stores work together is to draw you in for some limited items while charging distribute more for different things. All in all, in case you're not cautious - net increase goes to the house.
- Value Shrewd club store model costs (Moravia store, 02/29/08):
+ Philips 50" Plasma - $2,600.00
+ Frigidaire Clothes washer (model FWS9333FS) - $475.00
+ sofa set (Sovereign sofa-bed, bed skirt, 3 little ornamental pads, 2 cushion cases - no sheets) - $70.00
+ cover (a delicate sovereign measured) - $38.00
+ sharp cheddar - $13.00/2lb bundle
+ bed pad (standard) - $10.60
+ sofa cushion (little delicate square) - $14.00
+ pistachios - $9.20/2lb bundle
+ sausages (enormous pack) - $8.00/37 franks
+ trail blend - $7.40/2lb bundle
+ Land-O-Ice Nectar Ham lunch get-together meat - $5.20/1lb bundle
+ Land-O-Ice Turkey Bosom lunch meeting meat - $5.40/1lb bundle
As illustrated, costs for specific things in Costa Rica might be higher than in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and so forth - however work and administrations are typically a lot less expensive in Costa Rica than somewhere else. Unfamiliar occupants, retired folks, and so on wind up purchasing the costly clothes washer and grass hardware at that point pay homegrown workers to run them (ie: employ a house keeper/cook/grounds-keeper ... indeed, even on an unassuming or retirement pay).
* Private Bilingual Essential (grade) School - $200.00/month (with many included additional items; soccer group, acrobatic, dance, cheer driving crew, math club, and so forth)
* Exercise center Enrollment - $13.00/month (complete with Vigorous exercise, Step Preparing, Turning, Tae-bo and classical loads and hardware)
* Hair style - $3.00 men and $4.00 ladies
* Supper for 2 - $10.00 including some espresso or soft drink each
Because of the greater expenses for some 'once buy' things, numerous unfamiliar inhabitants that live, have second or summer homes or simply invest a lot of energy in Costa Rica decide to make specific acquisition of gadgets, machines and different things somewhere else on the planet and bring or have them delivered to Costa Rica as an expense reserve funds measure ... yet, be cautious!
The absolute most ideal approach to carry anything into the nation is to actually convey it in your gear when you travel. Nonetheless, Costa Rica has sorted this out as well. In the wake of showing up in Costa Rica, your sacks will be x-rayed for un-announced things (indeed, I said in the wake of showing up - as in, after you have recovered your baggage and before you leave the air terminal!) So utilize your best judgment in rounding out those traditions statements. You are permitted a specific dollar measure of new things per each such countless months too utilized individual things with no traditions charges. Knowing this, on the off chance that you are bringing any new thing into Costa Rica and you don't anticipate announcing it as new and available, it is ideal to eliminate the new thing from its unique bundling before putting it in your baggage.

I love making costumes but I always feel bad about my skill level being far below everyone else’s. Even though I love making costumes they never look good quality. Any advice?
It's easier to answer specific questions about a project vs. a general "how to be good”, but I'm gonna give it my best shot.
First off, go easy on yourself, you're learning! I know I'm still learning. Hell, the seasoned pro of 3 decades is still learning! Every fuck up and mediocrity is a step of improvement. I won't tell you that practice makes perfect, because it doesn't. It will make you better, great even. But it won't make you perfect. No one ever achieves perfection. And that's okay! Literally every single piece I've ever made has multiples elements I would change if i could. Even the ones that look good, like the now-popular moth cape. I will do lots of things differently when i make my next one.
Also, I know from experience how hard it is to avoid comparing yourself to others, especially online. So when we (inevitably) do, I think it's important to remember that there can be a BIG difference between in person and photos. That cool looking cosplay armour? Upon closer inspection it might be held together by hot glue. That pretty formal gown? It might have a real shitty fraying seam down the back. All we see is a carefully curated version of reality.
It's hard offering practical tips without more info to go on, but hopefully some of this will help. I think what makes a good looking costume can be broken down into 4 basic elements, so here’s what I think are the most important things to consider
Design: This is the part that people seem to have the easiest time with, and I can help the least with. Coming up with the idea. And when you’re costuming just for the pure enjoyment of it, there are no bad ideas! Now everyone approaches this differently, whether it's sketches, moodboards, or diagrams. Unless someone else is executing the concept, it doesn't even need to look remotely good! As long as you understand what the design is supposed to be, it works.
I will say to design with practical considerations in mind though. Think about where, how, and why it will be worn. Plan for things like zippers and buttons to get in and out, the weather where it will be worn, how much movement will be required, etc. You don’t want to end up sweaty and stuck in a polyester bodysuit that can only be opened with the help of two assistants in say, an outdoor summer event in LA.
Materials: This can be tricky, because it’s dependant on your resources. Materials are expensive, and quality ones even more so. But researching options and picking the best fit for your project is important. Making a historical piece? Stick to natural fibers. Cosplaying a superhero? You're gonna need spandex.
If you're short on funds, going through second hand stores can be real handy. Bigger ones will sometimes have actual yardage, but you can find sheets, curtains, saris, and all sorts of things to take apart and use. Get familiar with the properties and names of different textiles. You'll eventually develop a skill for spotting the nice stuff.
More specialized tools/materials like say fosshape or sewing machine attachments are harder to stumble across, but there will be online sales. If i find something good for cheap I buy it and hang onto it for later projects. If possible, take advantage of sales and rare finds while you can. You're a dragon and materials are your hoard!
Construction: Obviously you want your costume to be well-made, but this means knowing and mastering different techniques. It's a slow process, but one everyone is capable of undetaking! Firstly, you need to familiarize yourself with technical terms to make finding the actual tutorials easier. One of my go-to resources for this is The Sewing Book, by Reader's Digest. (There’s also a newer version available, I’ll include it below). It covers a wide variety of techniques, materials, etc. and has fantastic diagrams. Can’t recommend it enough
Companies that sell specialized stuff like thermoplastics or casting resin often have tutorials on their websites which can be indispensable to learning to use them properly. As well as very important safety precautions. They will also sometimes list external how-to sources or sell instructional books.
Take a close look at clothes and costumes you own to understand how they are put together. Figure out what techniques are appropriate to use where. A flat fell seam is great for jeans and french seam is perfect for chiffon, but try the reverse and it will be a pain. Take pictures and make sketches of interesting details that catch your eye. You can come back to them for ideas later.
I try and incorporate at least 1 new technique into every project I make, that way I'm always learning. But don't jump straight to trying it out on the final piece! Always make a sample (or several) beforehand. And keep the samples for later reference! I'm trying to amass a big scrapbook-style binder of samples, which is sooo so handy to come back to when it's been a while since you've done something.
Fit: This is the final, and possibly most difficult element of costuming. No matter how cool the design, how fancy the materials, and how good the construction, if something doesn’t fit right it’s going to look and feel wrong. Most of us here are making costumes for ourselves, which means you're going to need help. Measuring and fitting clothes on yourself is a nightmare, so enlist a friend or family member to give you a hand.
The other thing you can do it is to get a dress form/mannequin. These are pricey, and will probably need to be customized with padding and such anyways, so I recommend you DIY it. Again, you will need a helper, because the easiest way to get a custom dress form it to just straight up duct tape yourself into a crappy old shirt, cut it off, then stuff it. There’s tons of tutorials online for this, it’s a tried and true cheap method.
I highly recommend learning some basic pattern drafting, and that’s honestly the hardest part. You can rely on store bought patterns, but they are extremely variable in quality, and unless you’re in the rare minority who are a sample size, it will need some altering to fit you right. They can be a good starting point, but ultimately I think pattern drafting from scratch is much faster and more adaptable, if you're able to learn it. This is where you will need some good books or video instructions. I don’t have one single resource to recommend for this, but I will list some books at the end. If you personally know ANYONE with this skill, try and get them to teach you everything they know, because they are worth their weight on gold.
It’s important to note that some pattern drafting is easier than others, Stretch fabrics are MUCH more forgiving in this area, and that’s how i got started. Because the fabric will accommodate your form, the pattern requires fewer parts and darts, and there’s more leeway for mistakes. The one downside is that stretches can be more difficult to sew. Personally, I feel like they more than make up for it by being simplicity of drafting. The resources I’ve linked are geared toward drafting for non-stretch, but if you’re not following a similar tutorial i recommend stretch.
One last thing in regards to fit. ALWAYS MAKE A MOCKUP. You can work out so many fit issues just by making your costume in crappy material first, taking note of the fit issues, and adjusting them with pins, marking them with a sharpie, etc. Then you can change your pattern accordingly. Whether it’s a breastplate made of cardstock or a dress done in old sheets, you should always make a mockup. Sometimes several! The material doesn’t matter as long as it behaves roughly like the good stuff you plan on using. Don’t use a heavy blanket for if your costume is going to be a gauzy nymph robe, for example. But it doesn’t have to look nice. It just has to be wearable.
Resources:
*These are mostly tailored towards women’s garments. A lot of the same principles apply, but making men’s costumes will have some separate considerations not covered here. Just something to keep in mind if you want to draft for guys. These are all just starting points anyhow. There’s tons more out there

Tumblr media
      “ ... Well, if you’re both that eager -- ”
1: When did you lose your virginity?
“I am still a virgin! And I do plan to remain so for a long while.”
2: Rough sex or soft sex?
“Is both not acceptable? I favor taking it gentle some days, and some days I wish for something more. Variety is the most pleasurable of all.”
3: Do you have any unusual kinks/fetishes?
“That depends! Landfolk have much different standards for their norms, I’ve noticed, and some things are more common in certain areas of my kingdom than others...”
4: Weirdest place you’ve had sex?
“ ... In a horrid little backroom that I think was supposed to be an employee breakroom. Do not ask.”
5: Favourite sex position?
“Any that involve pinning my partner below me.”
6: Do you like to be dominant or submissive?
      “Dominant.”
7: Have you ever had any one night stands?
      “ ... Decline to answer.”
8: Sex on the bed, couch or the floor?
“Bed if it’s gentle. Floor if there’s blood involved. The couch is far too limiting for a range of movement.”
9: Have you ever had sex in a public place?
      “Yes.”
10: Have you ever been caught masturbating?
“No one that can speak of it.”
11: What does your favourite sexy underwear look like?
“Am I supposed to have just one? Artisan pairs are so unique and individual! I could never decide on just one pair!”
12: How often do you have sex?
      “ ... Often.”
13: Is there anybody right now you’d like to have sex with?
“I am sure there are those out there I’d say yes to - but no one who I know the name of. That would... require discussion, and understanding, and a grasp upon certain things that I’m not prepared to bring up yet. Conceptually, I would enjoy any and all of my friends, but... In practice, they nor myself are ready for the knowledge of some issues.”
14: Do you prefer giving or receiving oral sex?
“Why must I have a preference? They’re both enjoyable.”
15: Most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you during sex?
      “Nothing that you can prove.”
16: A song you’d listen to during hard/rough/kinky sex?
“Oh, that depends upon my partner and the activities! I have whole playlists for each flavor, as you do.”
17: A song you’d listen to during soft/slow/passionate sex?
“See above. Though... When it comes to landfolk music, I do have a favorite.”
18: Are you into dressing up for sex?
“Absolutely - it’s a fun way to set the scene and truly improves the experience! I have false copies of several of my proper regalia for such a purpose, and of course I do have other outfits for different strokes, and even merely getting into undergarments that are a tad more showy than usual goes a long way.”
19: Would you prefer sex in the bath or sex in the shower?
“Replace ‘ bath ’ with ‘ any pool of proper saltwater ’ - freshwater baths cannot do and they do more harm than good. Showers are better, but being in the ocean is superior to anything done on land.”
20: If you could have sex with anyone right now, who would it be?
“Without consequence or prior explaining? Well... Perhaps Molly, she’s remarkably cute... Or Aaravi - she’s fun enough to fluster that I would love to see her below me! Or precious, handsome Liam... Or Calculester, or Scott, or Damien, or Liam, or Polly, or Zoe, or Val --- ” Okay that’s enough of Miranda’s harem talk.
21: Have you ever had a threesome? If not, would you?
“I’ve had more than a mere three at once!”
22: Do you/would you use sex toys?
      “I do.”
23: Have you ever sent someone a dirty text/picture?
      “Not that you can prove.”
24: Would you have sex with your best friend?
      “Yes? What an odd question.”
25: Is there anything you do after sex? (for example, smoke, eat, drink)
“Typically - go into aftercare, usually involving cuddling or cleaning up, tending to any wounds that may have been sustained. Some nights... Well, I have no other option than fall asleep.”
26: Something that will never fail to get you horny?
“I do not share my secrets that easily!”
27: Early morning sex or late night sex?
“Both lazy mornings and passionate nights.”
28: Favourite body part on the opposite sex?
      “ ... What?”
29: Favourite body part on the same sex?
      “I don’t understand?”
30: Something that you have hidden in your room that you don’t want anyone to find:
      “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
31: Weirdest sexual act some has performed [or tried to perform] on/with you:
      “See question three.”
32: Have you ever tasted yourself? [If no, would you?] [If yes, what did you think?]
“Yes - I think I taste about the same as most others.”
33: Is it ever okay to not use a condom:
“If you’ve discussed it beforehand and all parties consent? What type of question is this?”
34: A food that you would like to use during a sexual experience:
      “I don’t eat.”
35: Worst possible time to get horny:
      “During royal duties.”
36: Do you like it when your sexual partner moans?
“Of course! Only a fool would not.”
37: How much fapping is too much fapping:
“When it interferes with your life and duties?”
38: Best sexual complement you ever got:
“When you’re Crown Princess, many compliments come your way. What really counts is when you look down and see them staring up at you with utter adoration.”
39: Favorite foreplay activities:
      “Finplay and gillplay.”
40: What do you wear to bed?
“For colder nights on land - soft, comfortable sleeping garments. On warmer nights - undergarments. Underwater - nothing at all.”
41: When was the first time you masturbated:
      “Decline to comment.”
42: Do you have any nude/masturbating pictures/video of yourself?
“None that you will ever see.”
43: Have you ever/when was the last time you had sex outside?
      “Recently.”
44: Have/would you ever have sex in public?
      “I have.”
45: Have/would you ever had a threesome?
“I have had more than three at once.”
46: What is one random object you’ve used to masturbate?
“Why would I ever require an ordinary object and not something more dedicated to the task?”
47: Do you watch gay/lesbian porn? why/why not?
      “What is... Less bean?”
48: Do you like oral sex? (why/why not)
“Why would you not? If you’re both clean and safe then there’s hardly an issue.”
49: How do you feel about tattoos on someone you are interested in?
“They’re one of the selling points, are they not?”
50: How would you feel about taking someones virginity?
“Eventually. Not now. One day, I shall have to give mine up as well.”
51: Is there any food you would NOT recommend using during a sexual encounter?
      “I do not eat.”
52: Would you rather be a pornstar or a prostitute?
“Neither - I am a princess. Why would I ever forfeit my title for any other position?”
53: Do you watch porn?
“Not particularly - I’d much rather experience it myself.”
54: Have you ever been called a freak? Why?
“I have, by no one who you can prove exists. I will not discuss the why, even in those cases where I understand why. Especially not in those cases.”
55: Do you feel comfortable going “commando”?
      “Of course?”
56: Would you have a problem with going down on someone if they hadn’t shaved their pubic hair?
“ ... Encountering hair is always... Unique, as you can imagine it’s a rarity in my kingdom. I work through it, even if it is... strange, to have that, in those locations.”
57: If you could give yourself head, would you?
      “I do.”
58: Booty or Boobs?
“Why fight? Both are so nice...”
59: Have you ever cheated on someone? (Why?)
      “No. Never.”
60: If you were the other sex for a day, what are five things you would do?
      “ ... Other sex?”
61: have you ever watched someone masturbate?
      “I have.”
62: has anyone ever watched you masturbate?
      “They have.”
63. Have you ever had an erection and someone noticed?

65. What is your bra/penis size?

67. When was the last time you masturbated?
“Some time ago? I cannot recall.”
68. When was the last time you had sex?
      “Recently.”
69. When was the last time you watched porn?
      “I can’t remember when - it’s been too long.”
70. Have you ever bought a sex toy? If so, which one did you buy last? First sex toy? If not, which one do you plan on buying when you do?
“My first... A simple thing, a good place to start. Latest... A specialty set of pearls.”
71. Guys:Circumsized?
      “ ??? ”
72. Which not-genital part of your body do you like being touched?
“ ... Fins and gills, of course. Lips. Neck. Thighs.”

Kidnap...
Could you do such a thing?
It was no later than midnight and you couldn't help, but feel the sour edge of tension and restlessness at such a late hour meant for sleeping. But it couldn't be helped for your leader, of the feared Yokai Clan known as ****, had entrusted you with a task of utmost importance like no other. He could have given it to his dearly trusted second in command. His own flesh and blood son. But no.
He gave it to you.
You smirked, probably because of your powerful origins. It was known to all even though you weren't the second in command, no less, the leader. You were still blessed with power unlike any other. Thanks to this you, for the most part, have had a good life. It was hard being who you are. Disguising yourself day in and day out to be one of those pathetic beings called humans.
You inwardly cringed just thinking about those horrible beasts. The devastation when they raged war on each other. Disrupting the peace of all the villages over trivial matters that could dissipate quickly if they only let their small minds actually think for once in their puny lifespan instead of making rash decisions for what they called the greater good.
Unlike humans Yokai, were beautiful and gifted with magic and all areas alike by the very gods themselves. The only reason they feared you was because you were blessed.
Every single day you would have to run away and hide in fear of being captured and taken up to the palace. They were only rumors, but you had heard the Yokai became servants and some even sex slaves.
You snapped out of your own thoughts getting back to the urgent task at hand. You jumped from the castle rooftop, where you had earlier been scoping out the guards routine walking schedule and found out you could have half of an hour to even a full hour of no interruption, silently to the floor below just as the guards rounded the corner.
You only would have half an hour to kidnap the prince, it was enough time, but you should always plan on something going wrong. You slid the door open silently and slipped in, careful of your tail and traditional garments as you closed it back up to avoid suspicion and invasion of privacy. Your (E/c) eyes widened seeing the prince sitting up straight, awake, and staring out at his small private garden. You were hoping he would have been sleeping.
Tiptoeing you way behind him, wary of the floorboards, though you knew they were new and not old and creaky, you stopped and froze statue still as the prince turned around.
You almost gasped at the prince's appearance. You had anticipated in him being beautiful, but to put it bluntly, he was gorgeous.
His garments were obviously expensive and created from the finest materials Japan could offer. Much more flattering and formal than your own (F/c) garments. The colors were a mix of bright and dark. Overall black with intricate details in a shimmering white and red, for the flag of his country.
His hair was long, a good guess being four to five feet long, maybe even more. It looked as if it was itself made of the finest silk, shiny and soft looking with the help of the full moon rising behind him. His pitch black hair that almost molded with the darkness of the room almost made you feel self-conscious of your own (H/c) hair in a normal (H/s).
And oh. His face! His skin was pale, a sign of royalty, and perfectly flawless. Rid of any possible blemish and any other imperfection. His eyes were a rich brown almost hidden away by his precisely cut bangs.
This man was most definitely a young god.
You watched in horror as the prince's eyes widened in shock, his mouth opening to call out for help, but before he could do so you clamped your left hand over his mouth, your right holding his left forearm, silencing so he couldn't make any noise to alarm the guards of your unwanted presence.
He squirmed in your tight grip, his right hand coming to your wrist to try and pull your arm away, but you were too strong for the pampered human. You let out a small 'ssshh', as you fixed your sharp gaze on him. It must have unsettled him for he eventually calmed down and stopped moving, but you knew he was undeniably scared for his life. Evident in the way he breathed heavily through his nose, chest heaving slightly, and his body was shaking.
Surprisingly, fear looked good on the prince.
You tilted your head, a look of contemplation printed on it, wondering what you would do. Then it came to you. You hadn't conversed with a human for centuries.
Playtime.
"I'll let you go," a look of relief washed over the prince at your declaration, "if. And just if. You don't alarm the guards I am here."
The prince nodded his head quickly at your generous offer. You smirked, happy he accepted, letting go of his mouth, careful of you ever so sharp two inch long nails that could slice flesh open. You didn't want to hurt him, even though humans disgusted you. But this one seemed different.
Your right hand was kept on his forearm to keep him and to stop him from running away, even though that would be impossible. Your knees were tucked underneath you and he was the same, though his garment was like a dress and covered everything and the floor beneath him to your own knees.
You examined him further, staring deep into his eyes with the rich brown hue with your own color of (E/c). He seemed to be less scared than earlier, but fear was still shown in his eyes, you almost felt guilty. You sneered internally at your own thoughts. Feel guilty for a human? Never!
You stopped thinking as he began to speak. And just as you had imagined his voice was smooth and light like the water that spilled into his garden pond behind him. "Why?"
You were caught off guard, did he just ask you why? You responded curiously, "What do you mean?"
"W-why-" his voice almost cracked at the start but regained his voice a few seconds later. "Why are you doing this? If it's for ransom my father, the emperor, can pay you in plenty of heavy pounds of pure gold. Just, please... Please, don't hurt me..."
You're inhumanly heart clenched painfully at his desperation and fear. It was clear the young prince knew nothing of war. Nothing of the sins the world held. You almost wanted to protect him from those things.
"Ie. It's not for ransom," you responded as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "I've come to take you to my leader. By my appearance, you should know why."
The prince looked at you in confusion, his eyes roaming to your ears and tail, a (F(ur)/c) color. You could see it click in his mind what you were, but that didn't seem to change his mind about what you were going to do with him.
"I know not what you speak of, but may I ask you a question?"
You tilted your head once again, indicating you were listening as he spoke.
"Why do you onry have one tair?" You blinked in surprise not expecting such a childlike question from a royal blood. (Though you wanted to smile at his cute accent) He seemed to notice your quick pause and spoke again to justify himself. "S-sorry! It's just you seem to onry have one. I thought kitsune usuarry have nine."
You nodded guy understanding just what he was asking about."That's actually a myth. It's only some kitsune really. Some are born with nine and live one immortal life. While others have nine immortal lives. I am simply on my very first life of my nine. I'm only 123 years old you know," you said proudly. Many kitsune didn't live as long as you. While some lived for millenniums.
The prince nodded in awe, he had never met a kitsune. And to know you were 123 years old was something of an extraordinary wonder.
"Can I pet you!?" Yet again you blinked. This human was very childlike, but you found it to be adorable. You sighed on the inside, almost giggling actually, as you nodded, with a small 'Hai'.
The prince's eyes widened in wonder and his hand reached atop your head to pet your sensitive (Fur/c) colored ears. You blushed at the sensation as your tail curling in your lap. You decided to feel his too, I mean he was doing it to you so you had the right to return the action.
Your left hand raised, your right sill securely holding his forearm, and you brushed his bangs away from his eyes. You could feel his hand momentarily stop, his brown eyes gazing at your own color of (E/c). His eyes widened a fraction at your action, he probably didn't expect you to be so affectionate.
You still continued anyway, letting you long fingers glide through as much hair as you could before you had to stop because of its amazing length. It was soft and as silky as you had thought. He must have used many oils and taken plenty of baths to require such a beautiful shine. He was like a woman. I mean, you almost had mistaken him for his sister, the princess. Good thing you were wrong.
You decided to voice your opinion, mumbling lowly, "You're like a woman. Long hair, delicate features, beautiful clothes. Even," you twitched your ears which he still held onto,"soft and small fingers."
He blushed at your statement, he tried to suppress it, but that would be impossible for him.
"Well," he began," I can assure you I am a man. If you're looking for women you should rather consult with my younger sister."
You looked in a bit of shock as he almost grumbled the words out. Is he jealous? You smiled at the thought of the prince being jealous of somebody they just met.
"Don't worry, I came here looking for you, the prince. Didn't I?" You questioned knowing he knew you were right. "But it'd a shame, my leader wanted me to give you to him as a sex slave. It seems like a good offer since you humans have done that to us."
You scowled, but stopped as he spoke confused, "W-what do you mean? I've never seen any of your kind in the palace before. Surely, my father doesn't have yokai sex slaves..."
A small smile crossed your (Plump/Thin/etc) lips at how naive he was. It was inhumanly cute. "You've had a sheltered life. Away from sin, away from the horrors of this disgusting world and all the creatures that inhabit it." Your left hand cupped the prince's soft cheek, running your thumb back and forth in a soothing motion across his smooth skin. "You will learn. And you'll turn into a man. Into an emperor. And all your innocence will evaporate with the rising sun of this country."
You stopped in shock as tears brimmed at the prince's eyes and started to flow over his cheeks, wetting them quickly. His hands had left your ears and had lowered to clasp onto your yukata. You hurried to calm him down, whispering how sorry you were for frightening him. Realising he was defiantly sheltered. More than you had originally thought.
"Do not worry, my prince," you whispered as if you were talking to your own child. "I'll make sure you are safe. No one will dare harm you, as long as we both shall live."
The prince's tears had stopped for a bit, but sniffles like a child as he looks up at you with his big doe-like eyes.
"So...you won't kidnap me and take me to your leader?" he asked.
You chuckled at his question,"Correct. It seems I want you all for myself. You alright with that?"
The prince started to stutter out a reply, a blush coating his cheeks. You hushed him a with a peck on his lips. It shut him up quickly as he touched his left hand, the right still clasped on your yukata and ghosted over his plump lips. Embarrassment, well this kind, and being lovesick looked good on him too.
"Though tell me your name," you almost ordered, "I want to know the name of my mate."
"H-honda, Kiku," he mumbled out. "You have permission to speak of me by my first name, seeing you've already kissed me..."
You nodded, expecting nothing less. "It's an honor," you stated honestly. "But seems I'll have to take my leave. I've been here too long, the guards will be here soon." You stood up the princes, no Kiku's, hand left your yukata, and you took away your hand. "I won't be able to return to my Clan since I've failed my mission. But that's alright, I have you to look forward to every morning."
As you began to walk towards his garden, now you think about it you should have just entered from there since it was not guarded all around and was open to the sky, you turned back to see Kiku, waving a goodbye.
"W-wait!" he shouted. You stopped from crouching to jump and turned back around to see him get a box, surprisingly he was still sitting down after all this time. "Come here, please."
You followed his instructions and crouched in front of him again. He opened up the black and gold encrusted box about as long as half a meter. And 1/3 of a meter high. To reveal, it empty?
"What's the box for?"
Kiku smiled as he pulled all of his hair to be over one shoulder, he brought his hand forward in front of you. You understood and placed your larger hand in his confused. Before you could comprehend what he was up to the next thing you heard almost scared you out of your tail and ears.
Slice!
"Hey! Why did you-" Kiku stopped you as he simply picked up his hair, binding it neatly and setting it in the box, closing the lid.
You were shocked, he had cut his hair. With your hand. Nails, but still your hand. It seemed your nails were the perfect length for it was cleanly cut and now his hair only reached his chin.
Before you could ask why he did such a thing he spoke first.
"You said you won't be able to return to where you were once accepted. I cannot live with the fact you'll be scorned by your former family and friends. So in order to make things right," he said scooting the box closer to your figure, "I wish to give this to your leader. I'm sure he won't decline. I've never cut my hair. And if they don't accept you can always stay here. And if my family doesn't accept you, we'll simply run away. My father can always have more kids," he half-joked.
Your eyes widened, you almost felt like crying. He would do such a thing for you?
You moved forward in a flash, wrapping your arms around Kiku's small body. Your body slightly shook in appreciation.
"Thank you. Thank you, so much" you chocked out. "This means a lot to me. No human has ever been as kind and as generous as you have."
"Promise me you'll come back."
"Of course, anything for you," you promised.
You composed yourself, letting go of him and picked up the box in the crook of your left arm. You cupped your right hand under the back of his head making him look up at you. You placed a soft and chaste kiss once again on his lips, closing both of your eyes, savoring the taste of him before you had to go. You would kiss him, who knew when you would visit him again. You slowly let him go as he opened his again in a bashful manner. You smirked at his expression. You would look forward to this.
Hopefully, you would be able to come back.
You reluctantly let go of our head and retreated to his garden, peering up at the moon as it still continued to climb the sky.
"Before you go, may I know the name of the yokai wishing to win my heart?"
You glanced behind your shoulder at the prince. He looked the same as when you had first met him, even though that was about 45 minutes ago, but he was different now. His hair was cut short, he still looked like women, his cheeks were a permanent pink and his eyes were incredibly lovesick. And his right hand brushed his lips, desperate to feel your lips on his again.
Yet it wasn't just his appearance that was different. He seemed less naive like he had learned a valuable lesson. He now knew of what lay beyond the palace walls. You almost regret telling him such a thing but knew he would learn it eventually. And early would be better than when he had become emperor.
"(F/n). (F/n) Bonoama."
You smiled as he whispered your name to himself. "(F/n), till we meet again."
You nodded, "Till we meet again Kiku ouji-sama."
You laughed at his surprised expression, before jumping away. And with the swoosh of the air, you were gone. Nothing indicating you were there other than the flustered prince left behind.
"(F/n)"
~*~*~*~
It was like a dream. Your leader was shocked when you had given him the quarter pound of hair from the prince. Surprised even more when it was willingly given. You leader had instantly accepted, declaring no war to start between your yokai clan and the royal palace.
You had even been moved to a high position in your clan. But even so, you only wished to meet him again. So with the permission of your leader, you were able to be with the prince. It was a dream come true indeed.
~*~*~*~
~Two Days Later~
"(F/n)! You're back!"
You almost fell over as the body of your new lover crashed into yours. To your surprise, he was standing. And he was quite short. You're a full-blooded kitsune yokai, most of you were tall (Gomenesai!).
You hugged him back, your tail swishing back and forth curling happily. You settled your head on top of his. "Of course, I never break my promises."
"Then promise me."
"Hmm?" You hummed. "Promise what?"
"You'll marry me."
~The End~

(Not in the story, but it's just so you know~)

Fun Facts:
-People in ancient China and I'm sure many other areas of Asia at the time, sought out to have long shiny black hair, for it symbolized you kept good care of your hair. And you were of high status. Japan having long shiny hair signified he kept good care of it, and he was of high status. But it also goes along with how hair is a gift from the gods and should never be cut unless on very special occasions (Moreso in Asian countries)-
-Tanned skin, blemishes, sunburn, and/or freckles were reserved for lower ranking members of society who toiled on the land while the upper classes relaxed indoors. This is why you were in awe of his flawless complexion and pale skin. (Though this beauty was more sought after during the Elizabethan times, in Britain/England and even China, I felt it would be nice to correlate with this story)-

IE University Spain presents 10 architecture and design projects
Biomaterials made from microalgae and a project that proposes using communal composts bins to produce biogas are included in our latest school show by students at the IE University Spain.
Also featured is a board game designed to help players understand the stock market and a project exploring traditional fishing practice alternatives as a solution to overfishing.
Students also looked at how to preserve the heritage and supporting the existing infrastructure in a number of industrial and urban regions.
IE University Spain
School: IE University Spain Courses: Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies and Bachelor Degree in Design
School statement:
"The Bachelor in Architectural Studies at the IE University Spain prepares students to transform the world and make meaningful environments. With a project-based approach to learning and a diverse body of faculty and students, the program synthesizes creative, technical, environmental and social considerations and is driven by a forward-looking and entrepreneurial spirit.
"We teach our students to master the essential tools and skills of the architect while simultaneously encouraging them to think broadly and creatively about how these tools and skills might be used in the future.
"The Bachelor in Design is a comprehensive degree that seeks to challenge today's physical, experiential, functional and emotional reality. The degree is designed for flexible and audacious individuals seeking creative solutions for a better and more sustainable life.
"This degree uses a unique combination of a solid foundation in design, a demanding project-based methodology and a focus on real-life challenges. Rigorous scientific and creative aspects of design are combined with a business perspective, allowing you to transform and improve people's daily lives."
Bridging Identities: a collaborative response to food systems in El Perelló by Moira Burela
"Perelló is located in the Albufera Natural Park, surrounded by rice fields, greenhouses and water. Bridging Identities centres on the cultural importance of food to this area, contextualising and examining the existing processes of food production surrounding the site.
"The project aims to create supporting infrastructure to optimise the food produced in the area and encourage sustainable culinary tourism. By building two pedestrian bridges, the idea is to create an unbroken circular path that opens multiple routes. This will result in different special conditions and allow for porosity and smooth pedestrian transition between the rice fields and the urban centre of Perelló."
Student: Moira Burela Course: Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies
Sagunto by Blanca Cominges
"Sagunto, Valencia, has been shaped by its proximity to the sea. Trade and industrial activity has influenced its urban morphology and development.
"Seeking to create greater continuity between the city and the sea, this project reimagines the spatial organisation of the harbour. Influenced by Tschumi's framework design, the proposal advocates for a grid of vertical totems. This gives a dimensional and organisational quality to the intervention.
"It also serves as points of reference connected to the city through a set of continuous paths, with a system of platforms providing continuity in two key locations: in Old Nau of Sagunto and by the water's edge."
Student: Blanca Cominges Course: Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies
Azúl by Linda El Zaher
"Located in Valencia, Carcaixent's two main commercial hubs are often affected by flooding. The strategy underpinning this project involves interacting with flood water diffusion through a peripheral intervention around the site to slow, store, drain and stop the flow.
"Moving between landscape, hybrid plazas (open reservoirs and public hubs), hybrid pavilions (underground reservoirs and cultural programmes), and hybrid towers (water filtration/storage and residences), the project components are both aquatic and social in nature.
"The design involves reducing the size of existing commercial blocks and expanding its structural grid. Working together, these measures attempt to eliminate danger and improve the surrounding area by integrating social activities, circulation and the local ecology."
Student: Linda El Zaher Course: Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies
Jardín Central Sagunto by Sandra García
"This 69-hectare proposal seeks to connect the port and town of Sagunto, Valencia and reintroduce industrial landscape into the city. By creating recycling facilities within a large botanical park, organic, solid and liquid industrial waste will be transformed into fertilizer, clean water, recycled material and energy to power the Jardín Central. This will also support Sagunto in its mission to become Europe's largest industrial park.
"The infrastructure will be complemented by public programmes, which seek to bridge the gap between the separate sections of the municipality. Overall, the proposal acts as a reference point for how 26 other cities across the Mediterranean coast can use productive architecture to boost connection."
Student: Sandra García Course: Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies
Boxes: Saturation as a tool for preserving industrial heritage by Ignacio Mejia
"Faced with the dilemma of preservation or urbanisation, Boxes proposes an alternative way of dealing with protected industrial heritage. It creates a means of urbanisation through preservation, with the building and the life within it serving as the principal reason to preserve.
"The perimeter around the heritage site is developed as a hybrid building with a continuous route, along which boxes are articulated. While serving as the organising principle, the route is an ambiguous element with clearly defined boundaries. Without resorting to complex forms, Boxes aims to find richness using simple elements to create new and unexpected experiences."
Student: Ignacio Mejia Course: Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies
Form follows Organism by Alejandra Díaz
"With water scarcity and textile disposal on the rise, the project aims to rethink our current relationship with the fashion industry. The proposal centres around the creation of biotextiles using sea-based materials such as red algae, seawater and microalgae.
"These materials can dissolve in seawater and conform to the idea of 'circular fashion' where all the marine-based materials used to make the garments will eventually return to the ocean, without negative consequences.
"The deliverables for the project include a salted bio textiles sample book; a cradle-to-cradle fashion system; and an interlocking modular system that can be scaled up to create garments."
Student: Alejandra Díaz Course: Bachelor Degree in Design
WelcomPost by Yoko Hwang
"WelcomPost is a system that can be installed in apartments, allowing residents to dispose of organic waste into communal compost bins, called PostUnit. Alongside reducing the energy and costs associated with compost facilities, this solution also turns the waste into a source of biogas energy and compost for plants. WelcomPost has the potential to be implemented across cities worldwide, offering long-term environmental benefits."
Student: Yoko Hwang Course: Bachelor Degree in Design
Edible Seascapes by Alejandra Alonso Majagranzas
"The effects of climate change and overfishing are putting strain on coastal fishing communities, and we must find alternatives to traditional fishing practices.
"Located in Galicia, A Guarda is a town in Galicia where the past can serve as an inspiration to create solutions for the future. The idea is to create an agricultural system based on seaweed, which can be implemented in as many aspects of personal and communal life as possible."
Student: Alejandra Alonso Majagranzas Course: Bachelor Degree in Design
Leverage by Anurag Phalke
"The majority of the world is not financially literate. Gaming could help solve this issue. Leverage is a board game based on a volatile stock market scenario, where players must buy stocks at a low price and sell when high.
"During the game, players come to understand how real-life events affect stocks as values can be influenced through 'news' cards, which can benefit your stocks or harm your opponents. The objective is to demonstrate the potential of subliminal education through gamification to tackle society's critical problems."
Student: Anurag Phalke Course: Bachelor Degree in Design
Alltee by Verus Von Haeften
"Currently, most companies specialising in golf equipment focus on improving performance and the way clubs and balls are packaged has not changed in decades.
"But, because clubs and balls are continuously improved, golfers are compelled to purchase new equipment frequently, which results in a great deal of packaging waste. Alltee is a dual-use golf ball packaging that strives to achieve 100 per cent material efficiency. The package contains three golf balls and 18 tees, which have to be assembled on the go."
Student: Verus Von Haeften Course: Bachelor Degree in Design

Bicycle fitting
Bicycle fitting is the process of adjusting a bike for a cyclist to optimize their comfort, performance and efficiency. Cyclists often experience overuse injuries such as cyclist's palsy, cyclist back, and Anterior Knee Pain. and this is often due to an incorrectly set up cycle. Bike fitting aims to prevent injuries, increase efficiency, comfort and improve performance for all cyclists. Bike fitting is for anybody who cycles, particularly if an overuse injury has occurred, to maximize their enjoyment and performance.
Indication
Bike fitting is for anybody who cycles. A good bicycle fit goes a long way to prevent overuse injuries and helps muscles and lungs function at best ability, all improving performance and enjoyment.
●      everyday cyclists
●      touring cyclists
●      tri-athletes
Clinical Presentation
Cyclist's who complain of: buttock; back; lower limb; upper limb and neck pain associated with cycling.
Often the cyclist may have tried pressure garments to relieve areas of pressure eg gel pads in gloves, gel seat covers, upright handlebars. Often these are a band aid solution to an incorrectly fitted cycle.
4 Pillars of a cycle fit
1. Foot position
When placing your foot on a flat pedal, the ball of your foot should be just in front of the pedal spindle, i.e. the spindle of the pedal should support the back section of the meaty part of the ball of your foot allowing the rider to stay balanced when standing on the pedals. Having your foot further back on the pedal ie more contact near toe, places the achilles at a disadvantage allowing it to fatigue quicker when standing on pedals and can lead to achilles problems.[2]
2. Saddle height
A very important part of bike fit is the saddle height. A simple way to get your basic seat height is by having your heels over the pedal spindles, your heels should stay in contact with the pedals throughout an entire backpedal stroke. If you lose contact with the pedals, or have to rock your hips to maintain contact, your saddle is too high. Then with foot in cycling position your knee should have a slight bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke.[3] This keeps your knee joint stable and protected.
3. Stem
Some people prefer a more upright position eg. those with back issues, or flexibility issues. This can be addressed by adding a spacer to the stem to bring the handlebars up higher.
4. Handlebar position
A bike fit is about fitting to you so the below guidelines are loose to allow for individual anatomical variations. The handlebars should be in a comfortable lean forward position that doesn't strain your back, neck, shoulders or wrists.
A basic bicycle fit
The video below gives an elementary guide to a bike fit. Specialists exist who exclusively do bike fits ( tri-athletes etc. pay big dollars to have these done) or bike stores may offer bike fits when purchasing a bike.
 The Importance of bicycle Fit
Bicycle Fitting Service near Wichita KS: Spring has sprung, and it’s finally time to start adding distance to your training rides. Most people look forward to a season full of long days in the saddle. But nagging aches or pains can suck the enjoyment right out of cycling and turn a long ride into a REALLY long ride. Life’s far too short for that nonsense – particularly since most cycling discomfort is easily eliminated through proper bike fit. For most people, this requires the help of a professional.
What is a bicycle fit?
Bikes come in a limited number of shapes and sizes. Cyclists do not. Bike manufacturers use adjustable components so their bikes can be made to accommodate a larger cross-section of riders. A trained bike fitter knows which adjustments need to be made to each of these components so that human and machine can truly become one.
Who needs a bicycle fit?
Anyone who plans to spend any length of time riding a bicycle will benefit greatly from a professional bike fit. A proper fit can:
●      Improve overall rider comfort
●      Help prevent cycling-induced repetitive stress injuries
●      Reduce or eliminate back, knee, neck and wrist pain
●      Reduce or eliminate hot foot
●      Reduce or eliminate saddle discomfort and genital numbness
●      Reduce or eliminate numbness in the hands and fingers
●      Reduce rider fatigue
●      A good fit can also improve riding performance, because it allows the rider to use multiple muscle groups in the most effective and efficient manner.
What happens during a bicycle fitting session?
The first step in the process is the rider interview. We take into account your history as a cyclist (and an athlete), your cycling goals and any injuries you’ve had that can affect your comfort on the bicycle. From there we assess your flexibility and measure various parts of your body.
A typical fitting includes:
●      Setting clipless pedal cleats in the correct orientation and fore/aft position
●      Setting your seat height and fore/aft position
●      Evaluating shoes and insoles
●      Determining correct stem length, handlebar height and handlebar width
A fitting takes between one and two hours and costs between $100 and $150. Much of the fitting takes place with you and your bike on a stationary indoor trainer. For this reason, you should bring all your riding gear to your fitting and be prepared to spend 10 minutes or more riding on the trainer.
When should you get your bicycle fit?
As soon as possible. Today is the ideal day to make an appointment to have your bike fit. Getting this taken care of early in the season will give you and your body time to adapt to changes made to your position on the bike before the start of A1 Mobile Mechanics Of Wichita. In addition, it will make your training rides more enjoyable.
Most fitters guarantee the fit for a full year, so you can go back later in the season to take care of any adjustments and fine-tuning if the need arises, or to facilitate any changes your body might have undergone through training.
Where can I go for a bicycle fitting?
Bicycle Fitting Service near Wichita KS: Today there are more professional bike fitters than ever before. Most work in full-service bike shops, but some cycling-specific physical therapists and coaches also do fittings. One good place to find a local fitter is to consult the list of dealers of Bike Fit Systems products. Of course, if you’re in Portland, come see us at any of the six Bike Gallery locations in the metro area. The Bike Gallery has been doing bike fittings for more than two decades, and all our fitters are highly trained and experienced professionals.
Our ultimate goal is for the bike to all but disappear underneath you. While we can’t guarantee you won’t be sore after that long ride, we do guarantee you won’t be in any pain.
bicycle fit detail
There are numerous methodologies used in the bike fit process, some more complex and detailed than others, using a variety of different technologies. Some focus on traditional biomechanical fits whilst others look to use physiological data (power, cadence, heart rate) as a benchmark. In fact, these days the choice can be a little overwhelming. The process usually takes around 2-3 hours and normally includes a pre fit interview as well as a flexibility assessment. (Getting an ideal position is one thing, being able to actually reach it is another!) The interview is a critical part of the process as factors like pre and existing injuries/conditions need to be taken into account and considered.
The next key steps are to work out the ideal positions for the five contact points where you meet the bike; hands (stem, handlebar and lever hood positions), feet (pedals and cranks) and pelvis/backside(saddle position). I won’t describe in detail each method as different fitters use a variety of methodologies using differing equipment, some at a more basic level and others using lasers and state of the art 3D motion capture. All will generally use some sort of hydraulic rig that can be manually or automatically adjusted as you ride whilst data is captured.
Another key element to ensure is right is stem stack height; how high your hands are when resting on the tops of the handlebars in comparison to your seated position. This is often called the seat stem drop differential. Professional riders more often than not have the stem ‘slammed’ down low with a considerable difference in height compared to their seat. This is because the pros need to adopt a very aerodynamic position. However this posture is very extreme and can cause back pain or even damage if attempted by a rider new to the sport. It’s a common mistake to make as inexperienced riders look to the positions of pros for guidance.
When you consider that a bike is symmetrical and our bodies are far from it you can see that this process isn’t a simple case of ‘measure and go,’ but a rigorous and detailed assessment involving the fine-tuning of each contact point. And then there’s the biomechanical knock on effect to the other areas if something isn’t quite right to tackle too. Specific areas that can require a fair bit of trial and error are pedal cleat positions for example. Traditionally this could be a rather long-winded and arduous affair to get right, with potentially serious consequences for your knees if you got it wrong. The bike fit process will make this far easier.
When you take all of this into account you can begin to see where the money is spent. You’re paying for expertise, time and some very expensive equipment and technology when looking at the more expensive end of the Fit spectrum.
To fit or not to fit?
There are of course ways to set up your bike position yourself and this is still what most people do. There are plenty of handy online guides out there if you don’t feel you want to splash out on a bike fit. The decision whether to get a fit or not will also depend on how seriously you take your cycling. If you are riding purely for fun and perhaps use your bike infrequently using an online guide will be fine. However, if you are looking to race or ride sports then it’s certainly something to at least consider. One way to look at a bike fit is as an investment. It’ll certainly start you off on the right foot as it were. If you do go for a fit, ensure you do your research first.
Bear in mind that as you develop and change as a rider (weight loss, increased flexibility, core strength) your position may change too. It’s a fluid, dynamic ongoing process. Many top pros regularly tinker with their position as they evolve as riders.
Ultimately it’s up to you. You certainly don’t need a bike fit as most of us (including myself) have got to where we are using trial and error and a basic knowledge of the ideal set up, as well as taking advice from experienced riders. But, if you have the budget, are serious about your cycling and keen to ‘fast forward’ through the trial and error phase and want to fully optimize your cycling efficiency, then go ahead.

 TIPS
5 Bike Fit Tips That’ll Improve Your Comfort and Power
Bicycle Fitting Service near Wichita KS: How you position yourself on the bike makes a huge difference in terms of comfort, power, and aerodynamics. While it’s a good idea for all cyclists and triathletes to get a professional bike fit, there are some basic guidelines you can use to troubleshoot problem areas and generally set yourself up in a neutral position.
The goal is to achieve a position that allows you to ride your bike without creating any injuries and one that will allow you to ride your bike for years. As an added bonus, the right fit will also make you more efficient and powerful.
●      Try a Saddle Before You Buy
Finding the right saddle can be a bit of a process because it’s important to find the curvature, width, and shape that is comfortable for you.
Saddles with more curvature (and/or a channel down the center) are often great for athletes who have limited flexibility through the hips and lower back. The curvature allows you to rotate your hips forward more easily without putting too much pressure on sensitive areas.
The width and amount of padding in the saddle also have a big impact on comfort and performance. Finding the right saddle may take some time and some trial and error, so work with your local bike shop – many have a loaner program – so you don’t have to make a huge financial investment. A quick ride in the parking lot is often not enough to tell you whether a saddle will work for you in the long run
●      Determining Saddle Setback
Move the saddle forward or backward so your knee is over the pedal spindle when the crank is in the 3 o’clock position.
Again, this is a good starting point, and then you can adjust your cleats fore and aft as needed.
Use your thumb to feel the ball of your foot on the inside of your shoe. With a pen, put a small mark on this point of your shoe so you can set the cleat using this as a landmark.
●      Basics of Setting Saddle Height
While you can dial this in perfectly with a professional fit, here are some guidelines for roughly setting up your saddle height. These are especially useful when you have to jump on a loaner bike or even a bike in a hotel fitness center.
Start with the saddle in a level position, parallel to the floor.
Sitting on the saddle, pedal with your heels on the pedals. Your foot should maintain contact with the pedal without having to rock your hips.
Pay Attention to the Shoe-Pedal Connection
The pedals are your third point of contact with the bike.  It’s important that the platform is large enough to feel secure (not like you’re standing on ice cubes).
And the most critical piece will be adjusting the cleats properly, to make sure you have a stable and tight shoe to pedal connection that will ensure optimal power transfer and allow you to ride injury-free.
As a general starting point for many riders, you can set the middle indicator on the cleat slightly back, about 5mm, from the ball of your foot.
The angling of cleats and the lateral distance they are set from the crank (Q-factor) is dependent on each rider’s individual body structure, however, you want to make sure you don’t feel any twisting or tension in the ankles, knees, and hips while pedaling. You can start with the cleats set straight ahead and make minor adjustments from there. Note that each foot could require different angling.
●      Handlebar Width and Reach Makes a Difference
With the handlebar, look at the drop and the width of the bars. If you have relatively small hands or a shorter torso, look for a shallow drop bar. The width of the bar should match the width of your shoulders, which will keep your arms in a neutral position when your hands are on the brake hoods.
You also want to ensure the handlebar reach is neither too long or short, as it can cause neck, shoulder, back pain, and compromise bike handling. You should be able to reach the hoods with a comfortable bend in the elbows without feeling like you need to scoot your body forward or backward on the saddle.
 COST
How much does it cost to get fitted for a bicycle?
Cost Considerations
Bicycle Fitting Service near Wichita KS: Many people are initially turned off from fittings, especially beginners, because of the price. Though they range in cost, a quality bike fitting generally comes in around $200 and usually takes no less than two hours. While that may seem like a lot, Lugosch reminds people to put it into perspective asking, “What’s more expensive, ultimately a fitting or buying a $1,000 or $2,000 bike that you only ride for six months because it’s uncomfortable?” It’s also important to keep in mind that this is a professional service and therefore paying less than the average rate may not provide you with the resources you need.
Levels of Bike Fits
There are varying levels of bike fits that depend upon the fitters experience and expertise level. Each level will go up in cost but also will have increasing value. Finding the right level of fit for your riding needs is key.
Local Shop
Your local bike shop is going to be your biggest fitting resource as they are likely to have the personnel who have been around bikes enough to know how to position someone on a bike. They can adjust, with a bit of margin for error in the general sense, the height of your saddle, how far back it should be, and the height and reach of your handlebars. Most shops will include this general fit with the purchase of a new bike. On its own they will charge around $50 for this service as it does take a bit of time and know how. This is your best option if you are looking to ride for fun and aren’t doing long rides or racing as this puts higher demands on, well everything.
General Coach/Fit Enthusiast
The next level of bike fitters are going to be the ones who can more accurately assess what a local shop can tell you as well as other areas of specificities such as knee and hip angles as well as where your foot should be positioned on the pedal. Typically they have been around cycling long enough and are in a position of trying to achieve optimal performance so they know the ideal positions to produce the most power as well as endurance.
Depending on experience level, they may be able to do some of the stuff a fit specialist can do so if you can find a good coach who knows what they’re doing they can be a great valued option. Typically when working with a coach or other similar individual they will give you a discount on their fitting services since you are already paying for coaching. If not they will typically charge $100 to $200 because they have enough experience to know the ins and outs but may be lacking some of the higher end tools.
Fitting Specialist
At this level of fitting on a bike the fitter either has decades of experience or has taken classes to know the ins and outs of body anatomy and how to find the correct position for each cyclist they fit. They are going to be able to do what a local shop and coach or fit enthusiast can do but to an even higher degree of accuracy. Furthermore, they are going to be able to assess you for flexibility and other potential discrepancies that can affect your pedal stroke. This includes correcting things like leg length discrepancies, knee tracking issues which can be corrected with shims under the cleat, and other specific issues that aren’t going to be properly corrected for with anyone without the proper know-how. A fitting specialist is going to cost roughly from $150 to $300 because of their expertise and larger tool kit that can get your position pretty well dialed on the bike. The range in price is going to depend largely on the fitters experience level.

Bodies are complicated. So are bicycles. Bicycle Fitting Service near Albuquerque NM: Each of us is unique and has different physical constraints. Your body and your bicycle should fit each other perfectly, and it makes a lot more sense to adjust the bicycle to the body than the body to the bicycle. Mobile Mechanics of Albuquerque, professional fitting will align your bicycle to your body, which will help you be comfortable and efficient while riding. I use a strategy of learning to address your individual needs, which will make you more comfortable on your bike. Mobile Mechanics of Albuquerque will work with you to understand your goals of riding, physical limitations, injuries, strength, flexibility, and range of motion, to create an ideal position that brings health, not pain, to the body. Through a process of education about position, form, alignment and balance, I will help you begin a new understanding of your relationship with your bike. Bicycle fitting Bicycle fitting is the process of adjusting a bike for a cyclist to optimize their comfort, performance and efficiency. Indication Bike fitting is for anybody who cycles. A good bicycle fit goes a long way to prevent overuse injuries and helps muscles and lungs function at best ability, all improving performance and enjoyment. ● everyday cyclists ● touring cyclists ● tri-athletes Clinical Presentation Cyclist's who complain of: buttock; back; lower limb; upper limb and neck pain associated with cycling. Often the cyclist may have tried pressure garments to relieve areas of pressure eg gel pads in gloves, gel seat covers, upright handlebars. Often these are a band aid solution to an incorrectly fitted cycle.
4 Pillars of a cycle fit 1. Foot position When placing your foot on a flat pedal, the ball of your foot should be just in front of the pedal spindle, i.e. the spindle of the pedal should support the back section of the meaty part of the ball of your foot allowing the rider to stay balanced when standing on the pedals. Having your foot further back on the pedal ie more contact near toe, places the achilles at a disadvantage allowing it to fatigue quicker when standing on pedals and can lead to achilles problems.[2] 2. Saddle height A very important part of bike fit is the saddle height. 3. Stem Some people prefer a more upright position eg. those with back issues, or flexibility issues. This can be addressed by adding a spacer to the stem to bring the handlebars up higher. 4. Handlebar position A bike fit is about fitting to you so the below guidelines are loose to allow for individual anatomical variations. The handlebars should be in a comfortable lean forward position that doesn't strain your back, neck, shoulders or wrists. A basic bicycle fit The video below gives an elementary guide to a bike fit. Specialists exist who exclusively do bike fits ( tri-athletes etc. pay big dollars to have these done) or bike stores may offer bike fits when purchasing a bike.
The Importance of bicycle Fit Bicycle Fitting Service near Albuquerque NM: Spring has sprung, and it’s finally time to start adding distance to your training rides. A proper fit can: ● Improve overall rider comfort ● Help prevent cycling-induced repetitive stress injuries ● Reduce or eliminate back, knee, neck and wrist pain ● Reduce or eliminate hot foot ● Reduce or eliminate saddle discomfort and genital numbness ● Reduce or eliminate numbness in the hands and fingers ● Reduce rider fatigue ● A good fit can also improve riding performance, because it allows the rider to use multiple muscle groups in the most effective and efficient manner. What happens during a bicycle fitting session? The first step in the process is the rider interview. We take into account your history as a cyclist (and an athlete), your cycling goals and any injuries you’ve had that can affect your comfort on the bicycle. From there we assess your flexibility and measure various parts of your body. A typical fitting includes: ● Setting clipless pedal cleats in the correct orientation and fore/aft position ● Setting your seat height and fore/aft position ● Evaluating shoes and insoles ● Determining correct stem length, handlebar height and handlebar width A fitting takes between one and two hours and costs between $100 and $150. Getting this taken care of early in the season will give you and your body time to adapt to changes made to your position on the bike before the start of Mobile Mechanics of Albuquerque. In addition, it will make your training rides more enjoyable. Most fitters guarantee the fit for a full year, so you can go back later in the season to take care of any adjustments and fine-tuning if the need arises, or to facilitate any changes your body might have undergone through training.

Our ultimate goal is for the bike to all but disappear underneath you. While we can’t guarantee you won’t be sore after that long ride, we do guarantee you won’t be in any pain. bicycle fit detail There are numerous methodologies used in the bike fit process, some more complex and detailed than others, using a variety of different technologies. Visit your local Mobile Mechanics of Albuquerque to learn about their bike fit services. Happy riding!
TIPS 5 Bike Fit Tips That’ll Improve Your Comfort and Power Bicycle Fitting Service near Albuquerque NM: How you position yourself on the bike makes a huge difference in terms of comfort, power, and aerodynamics. ● Try a Saddle Before You Buy Finding the right saddle can be a bit of a process because it’s important to find the curvature, width, and shape that is comfortable for you. A quick ride in the parking lot is often not enough to tell you whether a saddle will work for you in the long run ● Determining Saddle Setback Move the saddle forward or backward so your knee is over the pedal spindle when the crank is in the 3 o’clock position. Again, this is a good starting point, and then you can adjust your cleats fore and aft as needed. Use your thumb to feel the ball of your foot on the inside of your shoe. With a pen, put a small mark on this point of your shoe so you can set the cleat using this as a landmark. ● Basics of Setting Saddle Height While you can dial this in perfectly with a professional fit, here are some guidelines for roughly setting up your saddle height. Pay Attention to the Shoe-Pedal Connection The pedals are your third point of contact with the bike. ● Handlebar Width and Reach Makes a Difference With the handlebar, look at the drop and the width of the bars.
COST How much does it cost to get fitted for a bicycle? Cost Considerations Bicycle Fitting Service near Albuquerque NM: Many people are initially turned off from fittings, especially beginners, because of the price. Levels of Bike Fits There are varying levels of bike fits that depend upon the fitters experience and expertise level. Each level will go up in cost but also will have increasing value. Finding the right level of fit for your riding needs is key. Local Shop Your local bike shop is going to be your biggest fitting resource as they are likely to have the personnel who have been around bikes enough to know how to position someone on a bike. General Coach/Fit Enthusiast The next level of bike fitters are going to be the ones who can more accurately assess what a local shop can tell you as well as other areas of specificities such as knee and hip angles as well as where your foot should be positioned on the pedal. Fitting Specialist At this level of fitting on a bike the fitter either has decades of experience or has taken classes to know the ins and outs of body anatomy and how to find the correct position for each cyclist they fit.
