Assignment 2: Stop the Presses!

Hello. Recently I've discovered three interesting newsletters centering around Graphic Communication that I would like to share with you guys. What I found interesting with these newsletters is that all of them center around current trends that are happening around the world. From innovative ideas, to quirky designs, and even AI.

The first newsletter I found is from CreativeBloq, and it showcases the weird and exciting collaboration between brands that you might not imagine to be together. The reason why this newsletter specifically rope me in is because of how they try to change up their image to appeal to younger audiences. For example, a collaboration between Ralph Lauren x Fortnite. For this collaboration, an older brand such as Ralph Lauren changed their logo to a llama from Fortnite in hopes of rebranding itself to look more young and trendy with the kids.

The second newsletter is from Labels & Labeling. What I found interesting with this newsletter is how this company (ParkSide) aims for sustainability, and was able to create a packaging that is environmentally friendly and from plant-based materials. The packaging, for a bag of chips, uses Parkside’s Park2Nature material, can be disposed of in regular domestic compost heaps, where it will break down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass in under 26 weeks, and it can also be sent for industrial composting, where it will decompose within 12 weeks. 

The final newsletter is from Registered Graphic Designers or RGD for short. What makes this one appealing is the trend around AI. Titled “Top 5 Projects by DesignThinkers Presenters - Base Design: Min Lew — Spoiling Fate. Using AI,” it was able to generate art using a description of only one line as a prompt that the playwright summarized for each play. This is fascinating because you can literally type in one short sentence and it can create a whole story through generated art.

Sun Safety Tips

How you use sunscreens, and what other protective measures you take, make a difference in how well you are able to protect yourself and your family from sunburn, skin cancer, early skin aging and other risks of overexposure to the sun. Some key sun safety tips include:
